Another drabblechap for you all for Febuwhump Day 2: Holding back tears and I had a lot of fun writing this one too. Writing these entries has been really fun so far and whilst they might all be Digimon Adventure-verse, I may dabble into other series as well. I'm just the most comfortable characterisation-wise with Adventure as I am rewatching it currently.

1. Missing

T.K. had not hung out with his brother for a while since he and Sora got married and while he knew that was no one's fault – a new marriage could be hard to navigate, he was looking forward to today. While his apartment may be small, he knew Matt didn't care and loved coming here anyway. He was supposed to meet him at 5:30pm tonight. It was only 5 now so he wasn't running too far behind.

He had asked Davis to help him find a few easy recipes to cook and he had set them up nicely. It was the first time Matt was coming over after his wedding and while he did wish Sora could have joined, she had a work project she could not delay. Having just gotten the digimon back too, Biyomon had gone along with her while Gabumon should be coming along with Matt.

"T.K., stop watching the clock, he'll be here," Patamon encouraged him causing T.K. to flush.

"I know, I just miss him," T.K. admitted softly. The digital world had brought them closer together and while their parents were cordial with one another, he still sometimes worried that he'd drive a wedge between himself and Matt like he had done so with his parents.

The minutes passed and time went by and before he knew it, it was 6pm. That was odd. He knew Sora was at work, so he texted her instead of giving her a call.

Hey, Sora. Did Matt decide not to come today, or did he just get busy?

It was a little odd because if Matt did get busy, he would call or text or something. He wouldn't just stay silent. He heard his phone beep and looked to see what Sora had messaged back. When he read the message, his blood turned cold.

Matt dropped me at work and headed to your place an hour ago. You live only 15 minutes away, has he not arrived yet?

T.K. frowned at this, calling Matt. The line was powered off. He then called Sora who picked up immediately.

"Sora, Matt hasn't reached here," T.K. told her. "And his phone is powered off. Is everything ok?"

"Matt's not there?" Sora asked frowning. "I tried calling our home line but there was no answer there either. Where is he? This…it's not like him. He was so excited to see you, T.K., he wouldn't just cancel without telling either of us, you know that. Where is he?"

T.K. could tell his sister-in-law was holding back tears, trying to be strong as she always was and exhaled slightly, breathing out through his nose. If they both panicked, nothing would get done. Something had happened to Matt while he was headed to their place, and they needed to find out what if they were hoping to find Matt.

"Sora, can you come over after work?" T.K. asked. "I think something's happened to Matt on the way here and before we decide to go to the police, we're going to need all the information we can get. I'll call Davis and the others to come too. Kari can bring Tai along too, see if he knows anything."

There was silence on the other end, and he heard Sora exhale before she spoke again.

"I'll come now," Sora said simply. "This is a family emergency. The project can be postponed for that. I'm on my way."
