I don't own anything.
A/N: I want to branch out a little more and figured why not do something with RWBY. I do want to say a few things. Firstly, people that do commissions. Please don't leave a review or follow me, I won't be contacting any of you anytime soon. I'm not really interested in making it into a comic form for the time being. To save some time. Secondly, this will be an OC replacing Jaune. He won't be in here at all. Thirdly, I'm going to update this story rather inconsistently, sometimes you'll see it update once a week or three times a week. Fourthly, this story will be separated into several books. RWBY is massive. I think it will be easier for you guys to read on a book to book basis. Lastly, reviews will be much appreciated. Let's get into this!
Dorian had trouble containing himself. He was in a airplane that was heading all the way to Beacon Academy. He got to see everything from the window. The signal academy below him. It was nice moving around on his own free will. Dorian didn't wear any formal wear. Instead, he had on a short sleeve shirt that was white and baggy. He wore a pair of black cargo shorts with brown hiking boots. He found out that bartering was quite effective. Dorian still kept his more necessary supplies but they were in a backpack instead of a suitcase. His sword attach to his hip.
"Hey, you!" Someone yelled.
Dorian look over to see the person that was calling for him. He saw a teenager with lilac color eyes looking right at him. She had long, thick, and wavy hair that traveled below her back. The female her a cowlick on the top of her head. She wore a tan jacket that bares her midriff, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Under the jacket would be a low cut yellow colored crop top with a black flame designed on the left side of her crop top. The flame was partially visible because of her jacket getting in the way. A brown belt would be around wait and it held in place a brown piece of fabric that stretched from one side of her hip to the other. Underneath that was a white color fabric that was asymmetrical and it reached all the way down to her right knee. Finally, she had on a pair of tight black spandex compression shorts that reach her upper thighs. She wears a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee. A gray bandanna is tied around the left knee.
"Yang!" The other girl cried.
Apparently, that was her name.
"My sister Ruby looks about the same age as you." Yang spoke.
Dorian walk over to the pair.
"I'm Dorian, nice to meet you." Dorian introduced himself.
"I'm Yang, this is my little sister Ruby." Yang introduced herself and Ruby.
Ruby's outfit consisted of a black color long sleeve blouse. The blouse has red color trimmings at the end of the sleeves. She wore a black color dress, with the skirt being the same color. She had on a red color petticoat, she had on black color tights before finishing with black color combat boots. The Teenager had short black color hair with red color being introduced at the endings of said hair. The length of the hair only went down to her neck. She had silver color eyes.
"It's nice to meet you, Dorian." Ruby shyly spoke.
"Your sister said we were about the same age I take it your sixteen?" Dorian asked.
"A year younger than that."
"Close enough, recently my sister was accepted into Beacon Academy and she needs a new friend. Since you're in her age group. I figured you fit the bill a little bit."
"Yang!" Ruby shouted with embarrassment.
"Sshhh, let your big sis get you a friend." Yang said.
"Beacon Academy? I'm new to the school as well. I recently got recommended by someone." Dorian said.
"See, see Ruby, thinks are looking up."
Dorian saw Ruby's silver color eyes.
"I think, I know why you were admitted into Beacon. Those silver eyes of yours are a dead giveaway." Dorian spoke.
"Silver what now?" Yang commented.
"What do my eyes have to do with anything?" Ruby asked.
"They didn't tell you?" Dorian returned a question.
"Tell me what exactly?" Ruby replied.
Clearly no one told the pair about the legend of the silver eyes. Though he was thinking it was true now because Ruby had silver color eyes, a year younger than him and was with the freshman to attend Beacon Academy. Interesting, he was glad his mother forced him to pay attention to the legend even if he dismissed it completely.
"It was once a thing that happened generations ago. There was a group of people that had developed a mutation. This mutation lead to them having silver eyes, which you have, their silver color eyes allowed them to use powers that completely annihilated Grimm just by looking at them. Don't ask me if I can test you out to see what you have is real. My mother didn't have a lot of information on them just from what I told you." Dorian explained.
Ruby and Yang digested the information.
"You sure what you said is true?" Yang asked.
"My mom was never my best friend besides she said it was a legend due to silver eyes sightnings becoming increasingly rare in the last hundred years." Dorian answered.
Yang finger tapped her chin a few times.
"My mother had silver color eyes and she went to Beacon Academy." Ruby said.
Dorian crossed his arms before shifting his body weight to the other foot. It looks like he could tell his mother that silver eyed people were still around in this world. If they lived up to the legend it would still be left up in the air for the moment.
"I'll look around in the school library and maybe ask the professors about these silver eyed people but after we get access to the entire school." Yang spoke.
"If you find anything out, I wouldn't mind knowing about it." Dorian said.
"Is that how you really think I got into beacon?" Ruby asked a bit hurt.
Dorian saw the pain in her eyes. Now he was feeling guilt for hurting Ruby indirectly. Dorian did want to tell her otherwise but he didn't know anything about Ruby. It wouldn't do her justice trying to comfort her with lying words and he found it to be offensive. Dorian also knew that if he wanted someone to tell him something. He'd rather take the more direct appoarch.
"I wouldn't say that was the only reason because I don't know who the person that recommended you was completely thinking. If anything, you having silver eyes was a or is one of the deciding factor(s) that caused them to enroll you." Dorian told Ruby.
Ruby instantly deflated as she looked hurt at hearing his words. Dorian felt bad. He really did but he wouldn't do her any favors by lying to her. Yang certainly crossed her arms and glared at the male. He wasn't doing the pair any favors right now.
"You know she's a really good fighter and she made her own weapon." Yang instantly defended her sister.
"She made her own weapon?" Dorian asked.
"Yeah, show him the weapon you worked hard to make sis. That way he can see why you got here. Don't let him get you down."
Yang gave her sister a soft nudge. Ruby hearing about her own weapon seemed to perk up. As she brought out her weapon and it was in a shape of a compact rifle. Ruby would shift the compact rifle like shape into a full on sycthe.
"Woah, you knew what you're doing when you were making it."
Yang grew a smug expression.
"See, my little sister is the best." Yang stated proudly.
"Thanks, her name is Crescent Rose. It took forever to make her when I was at Signel Academy." Ruby answered.
"You did a great job and judging from the scratches on it, you did end up having to fight with it." Dorian said.
"Yeah but it wasn't anything too crazy. Just a few Grimm and a robbery." Ruby explained.
"Wait you wouldn't have happened to be the person that was the vigilante that tried stopping a dust robbery?" Dorian asked.
"Ahahaha, word gets around that a girl stops a robbery?" Ruby asked.
"Not one that single handly captured all of the underlings. You weren't half bad from how the report went." Dorian spoke.
"The main culprit still got away, I couldn't stop him from getting away." Ruby said.
Now this was more up Dorian's territory. He could understand how Ruby felt and he could resonate with the Teen.
"I may not have known what to say to you when you asked if you were accepted by Beacon Academy because of your eyes nor do you deserved to be lied too. However, I think I know what may get you out of your funk. There was this guy I meet on the way here. He told me something pretty important. Don't worry about the failures or the losses but remember all of the successes. If we focused on all the negatives we don't ever see the positives. Imagine that huntress getting there without you interfering, she wouldn't have gotten anyone and the criminals would have taken more dust. However, because you stopped their robbery mid way through their act. You prevented further damage and loses. I'd say you did good that night." Dorian spoke.
Ruby grew a small smile at the praise. He was right, they would have made off with more dust and they would not have gotten those underlings without her.
"Thanks for that and not lying earlier."
"No problem."
Yang seeing both parties back on a good vibe would take this as her que to head out.
"I think you both can use some more time to talk alone. I see you found a new friend Ruby. It's not so bad. Have fun!"
Yang dismissed herself. Ruby saw her leave her side to go to the other side of the airship.
"Ack, Yang!" Ruby cried.
Yang gave her a wave of dismissal. Ruby face Dorian as she now had some familiarity with him. She saw his sword.
"So, what about you? What is the name of your weapon?" Ruby asked.
Dorian grew a blush out of embarrassment.
"It's just a longsword, my family said that it's name is, Nebel. Though it can be transformed into a shotgun."
Ruby's eyes sparkled with awe.
"Can I touch it? Please, please~" Ruby pleaded.
"Sure." Dorian agreed.
Dorian pulled out the sword while Ruby's eyes became even wider. Dorian would change it to a shotgun as he handed the weapon to Ruby.
The two would walk off of the airship that had just landed within the front courtyard of Beacon Academy. The front courtyard housed a landing pad for the airship beyond the landing pad was the rest of the massive courtyard. The long strip from the landing pad that lead towards the Beacon had grass and a few trees. Finally the courtyard was surrounded by architecture and beyond that architecture would be two monumental sized doors. They saw other students roaming the courtyard along with other people, presumably new students that were already heading into the courtyard.
"Hey, Dorian since you are like me, do you feel special for getting admitted early into Beacon?" Ruby asked.
"No way, they just saw how I possessed potential. Why do you ask?" Dorian asked.
"Well...I was moved ahead two years and I just want to be normal and treated like I'm not some special person." Ruby stated.
Dorian crossed his arms.
"I wouldn't say they would treat you like a special person. I think you'd just have a lot to prove, even me, we both have to prove ourselves to everyone else. The expectations will be higher because we our much younger. We just gotta meet them. We won't be treated like special, vip people. They'll treat us normally like any other." Dorian answered her.
"You think so?" Ruby asked him.
Dorian uncrossed his arms.
"Yeah, I do." Dorian answered.
Ruby gave a nod and she seem to take a moment to pysch herself up.
"Here goes nothing." Ruby said.
"That's the spirit, I'll catch up with ya later!"
Yang gave Ruby a wink and seem to dart away as she was taken away by a group of people that were her friends. Dorian and Ruby watch as Yang left the pair alone.
"That was..."
"Wait, you still haven't told me if we have dorms here!" Ruby shouted at her disappearing sister.
"They have dorms here. If anything Beacon will be our home away from home for the next few years." Dorian spoke.
"Thank goddness." Ruby said.
"Do they just let anyone in? Aren't the both of you a little too young to be here? This isn't a regular sparring match you know, we'll be fighting actual monsters." A voice came from behind them.
The duo turn around to face the person that was talking to them. She is a pale skinned teenager with pale blue eyes. Her long white hairwould be fashioned into a ponytail that wasn't on the center of her head but on the side of her head. She has a scar over her left eye. The female wore a thigh-length strapless dress with a faint color gradation from white to pale blue at the hem. The hem her dress was scalloped and stitched to resemble snowflakes. She wore a white jacket with red lining on the inside of said jacket. The sleeves of the white jacket would go from white to a pale blue. The sleeves had snowflakes stitched into them. She wore two rectangular silver color earrings. The pendant she wore had a small apple on said pendant. She wore white color boots. A rapier that had the hilt as a revolver would be attached to her waist.
"Weiss Schnee, heiress to The Schnee Dust Company is here becoming a huntress. Interesting." Dorian said.
"Finally, some recognition." Weiss said smugly.
"You haven't done a lick of work that deserves recognition besides your father is shredding your reputation because of his questionable business partners and controversial labor practicies." Dorian beat her down.
Weiss was taken aback.
"Why...you...!" Weiss began to fume.
Ruby began giggling at Weiss's face starting to fume.
"You don't get to...how dare you! The nerve!"
Dorian stuck his tongue out at Weiss. Ruby began openly laughing while Weiss walked away fuming as she did so. The female would get her revenge. Ruby got a hold of herself.
"I take it you don't like it when people use the name of their family in that manner?" Ruby asked.
"You can say that, because if you use your family name as a way to get recognition and fame. It's just insulting, use your own two hands to forge ahead." Dorian spoke.
"Ooo that's why you got so upset when she smugly said that she got recognition." Ruby said.
"Yeah, it's why I got really upset at her." Dorian answered.
"You like to work hard don't you?" Ruby asked.
Dorian looked up to the sky.
"My father told me that I must be excellent at everything and in order to be excellent at anything. I must work hard. Since I see value in his words. I won't allow anything less than hard work." Dorian said.
"I'll be willing to work hard with you besides us young folk gotta stick together. We are friends after all." Ruby spoke confidently.
Dorian looked back down as he turn his head to face Ruby.
"Yeah, let's work hard together."
Ruby concluded things wouldn't be so bad even if Yang ditched her. The pair stood in comfortable silence for a few moments. Ruby took in a deep breath.
"Welcome to Beacon Academy." Ruby breathed out nervously.
"Hey, where was that confident girl a second girl?" Dorian poked fun at her.
"She's still here but I can't help but get nervous!" Ruby defended herself.
"All we have do is head to the auditorm that is housing all of the new students for the upcoming cermony and we will find her." Dorian offered.
Ruby crossed her arms but agreed to go to said auditorm. The two traveled through the courtyard until they entered the auditorm. Inside the auditorm they would find various other students within the school.
"Ruby over here! I saved you a spot next to me!" Yang spoke.
Ruby nearly took off at finally being able to be with someone she knew, before remembering she was traveling with Dorian. She turn to face him.
"I gotta go, sorry but I'll see you after the ceremony."
Dorian gave her a smile of assurance and Ruby waved at him with him returning her wave. Ruby ran over to her sister. When Ruby had turn to face her sister. Dorian was left alone.
'I wonder who else I'll find.' Dorian thought.
"So, how's your first day going little sis?" Yang asked.
"You mean since you ditched me." Ruby said.
"I did not, you were in perfectly capable hands. Where is Dorian by the way?" Yang asked.
"I had to meet you and I'm gonna meet up with him after the ceremony." Ruby answered.
There was someone clearing their throat in a microphone that got all of the new students attention. Everyone look to someone that was standing on the stage within the Auditorm.
"As you all are well aware, I'm Professor Ozpin Headmaster of Beacon Academy."
Professor Ozpin is a middle-aged man with tousled silver hair and brown color eyes. He wears shaded glass spectacles and a small, purple, cross-shaped pin on the cowl around his neck. In addition he wore a unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also wears black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants. The man had a cane at his side.
"This is one of teachers, Professor Glynda Goodwitch." Ozpin introduced.
Glynda Goodwitch is a woman with very light-blonde hair tied back in a bun. A curl hanging down the right side of her face. Her eyes are bright green and she wears a pair of thin ovular glasses. She has dangling teal earrings that match the hanging pendant on her collar. She wears a white long-sleeved, pleated blouse. A black cape with the inside of the cape being purple. She wore a black color high waisted skirt with brown color tights and black boots with bronze color heels. The female holding a rider crop at her hip.
"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. However, I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose and direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin said.
He suddenly backed off while Glynda came up to the microphone. She spoke into it.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." The woman spoke in crisp voice.
"He seemed kind of off." Yang said.
"It's like he wasn't even there." Ruby commented.
True to her word all of the new students would be put within the ballroom. Which meant they all would be sleeping in said room tonight. Many students changed into their pajamas to settle in for the night.
"This is like one big slumber party!"
Yang would lay down next to her little sister Ruby. The younger teen was laying on her belly as she wrote on a piece of paper.
"I would imagine that dad wouldn't approve of all of the boys though." Ruby commented.
"But I do~" Yang purred.
Yang would watch as shirtless guys walked around the area. Yang was definitely enjoying what she saw while Ruby gave out a scoff before rolling her eyes. Yang look to her sister busy with her writing.
"What's that?" Yang asked.
"A letter to the gang at signal. I promised them that I would tell them all about beacon." Ruby answered.
Yang saw this as a perfect opportunity to tease her sister.
"Aw, that's so cuuuttteee~"
Ruby threw a pillow in Yang's face. It hit Yang but Yang wasn't phased by the pillow.
"Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school! It's weird not knowing anyone here!" Ruby shouted.
"What about Dorian?" Yang asked.
Not only did Yang ask Ruby, she pointed to Dorian. Ruby followed the direction of Yang's finger to see Dorian talking with someone. Ruby got up from her spot on the floor as she maneuvered around the bodies. Yang got to her feet as she followed Ruby.
"Dorian!" Ruby spoke.
Dorian turn to face Ruby and Yang walking up to him.
"Hey guys."
"Who's your new friend?" Yang asked.
"Oh, Ruby and Yang meet Blake Belladonna. Blake meet Ruby and Yang." Dorian introduced.
