Chapter 391 Leaving Work Now

"

Jaime came into the store a couple of minutes early. That was something that Louise liked about Jaime he might be the owner but he treated her with respect by doing little things like showing up on time.

He was a little guy in his thirties with short dark hair and eyes. He'd inherited the store when his father died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack. Sometimes Louise thought he had a bit of a crush on her, but he never said or did anything improper. There were times she thought it was all in her imagination and other times, the way he'd look at her would convince her that he did have a little crush.

"I really appreciate you letting me off early tonight," Louise said. She grabbed her purse from under the counter.

"I want to keep my best employee happy," he replied.

"Thanks," Louise said as she left. She knew that Jaime would watch the cameras in the parking lot until she reached her car. He was considerate that way.

Once Louise got to her car and was safely locked inside, she reached for her cell phone and called her mother.

"I'm on my way home," Louise said. This was one of her mother's security precautions. She insisted Louise call her when she left work and take the same route home. Louise humored her mother. It was easier than fighting.

On her way home, she usually went to Enzo's Chinese Burger Palace. Her mother was a terrible cook who thought Louise was always on a diet because she ate so little. Since her mother had taken up healthy cooking her already marginal cooking skills had plummeted. Louise picked at her food and then ate an Enzo's.

She drove through and got orange chicken, French fries and a Coke. That was on the things she liked about Enzo's mash up of Chinese and American. Sometimes she wanted a little of each.

Enzo's orange chicken was delicious. It wasn't like the soggy, soppy, gloppy battered chicken with orange sauce from all the other Chinese fast food restaurants. Enzo's chicken was in a crispy spicy batter with a spicy sweet orange sauce. Louise loved it so much, she ate it practically every day when she was working.

She parked and ate in her car. She liked those quiet moments eating great food and relaxing before going home. She had at least three hours of intense paper writing ahead of her.

Her crime against her mother's food wouldn't be complete without her disposing of the evidence in the fast food restaurant's trash. She took one quick look around her car to make sure she'd thrown everything away. In her haste to get to the delicious chicken, her fortune cookie fell out of the bag and rolled under the front passenger's seat.

As she pulled up to one of the town's few traffic lights, she thought she saw Tig's pick-up two cars behind her. When the light changed, Tig changed lanes and passed her giving her a wave. That was odd. That was the first time he'd ever waved at her.

Author's Note: I started a new story about Jax getting quarantined. It's a different story from typical fan fiction. This is a different Jax who finds himself in situations he has never experienced.

It's an "M" like "Taming Ava", so you have to change your filters to view it. I moved it with chapter 3 because chapter 3 is strange—who wants to know what size condoms the guys wear? Not all of them wear the same size. That gets revealed in chapter 3.

It's not going to be this huge long story. I'm planning for less than 20 chapters. It's sexy, funny and has some unusual plot points. I like trying fresh ideas. Please let me know what you think of this story. Thanks. MV
