Little Toy Bikers and a Woman on the Run

Chapter 406 Early Church

They were all sitting around the table; Clay at the head, Tig on his right, Jax on his left, Bobby, Chibs, Opie, Piney, Juice and Happy who had transferred in from the Nomads and Kozik who was visiting from Tacoma. Clay banged the gavel down quickly bringing the meeting to order.
"Tig, why don't you tell everyone what you learned last night."
"Louise from the convenience store is missing," Tig said. "Last night, I went to get a candy bar and some ice cream. Everyone that worked there seemed sad. The girls were crying. She's vanished. I called Clay."
"I had Gemma call Lois," Clay picked up the story. "You remember Lois? She was a crow-eater until she learned what the term meant," Clay chuckled at the memory. There had been no hard feelings when she decided the crow-eater lifestyle wasn't for her. It wasn't for many girls.
"Yeah, I was the one that educated her on the duties of a crow-eater," Piney admitted. "She just thought it was a term used for girls that hung around the clubhouse. She didn't know there were duties attached to the privilege."
"The cops haven't had much luck finding her. I think we show our civic mindedness and search for her," Clay said.
"We all know Louise," Jax said. "We need to find her."
"Any of us ever get with her?" Chibs asked.
"Why are you even asking that?" Tig demanded.
"Curiosity," Chibs said mildly.
"She's not livestock enough for Tig," Jax said.
The table erupted in laughter. Some of Tig's sexual perversions were will known to his brothers. He'd been arrested on more than one occasion for indecency in a livestock transport. His taste also extended to sex with the dead.
Tig shot Jax a dirty look.
"OK, let's focus and plan on what we need to do to find Louise," Clay said.
As they made plans, Jax felt his love and pride for SAMCRO swell in his chest. These were the moments he loved best when they were together as brothers working for the same objective that didn't involve killing. Sometimes it was necessary, but he wasn't like Tig and Happy who enjoyed killing. This was a task that made him feel good.
They would split into groups. Gemma would contact the crow-eaters while Juice and Chibs would contact friends of the club. Everyone would meet at the clubhouse for their search assignments.
"We're going to have to work with Unser and Hale on the search to coordinate search areas. I can do that," Jax volunteered.
"We need as many people as we can on this," Clay said.
"You think she was kidnapped or . . .?" Bobby asked.
"I don't even want to think about it," Juice said. "She is a nice girl. She wears these V-necked T-shirts and would pull them down a little when she didn't think I was looking, so she would look sexier for me."
"We have our assignments," Clay said.
"One last thing," Jax interrupted before Clay could bring the gavel down. "We don't have a party in the clubhouse tonight. It won't look good. We may also have to continue the search tomorrow. There's a lot of area to cover."
Everyone nodded their agreement.
"Tell everyone we may need to search tomorrow as well as today," Clay said bringing the gavel down on the meeting. "Party cancelled."
"Hey Jax, I could go with you to PD," Tig said.
"Thanks. I've got this," Jax said.
Tig was acting a little stranger than normal, Jax thought. He was pretty freaked out by Louise's disappearance.
Jax got on his bike and rode over to the Charming PD. He noticed they were setting up for a TV interview. He stayed on his bike to watch and to stay out of the shot. From his position, he could hear Hale talk about a reward being offered for information leading to Louise's safe return.
He noticed Scarlett tucked off to one side of the building carefully concealed by a building pillar so she couldn't be filmed. He wondered why she was at the police department. He hoped that it wasn't for more questioning over Kohn's death, but he wasn't worried. Scarlett was a smart girl. She could handle herself.
He waited until the interview was finished, got off is bike and walked over to her.
"You have to answer more questions about the Kohn thing?" Jax asked.
"No," Scarlett said shaking her head. "I was trying to think of a way to help so I came up with the idea of a reward."
Jax studied Scarlett's face for a long moment. He didn't know why he was surprised by this act of kindness. She had plenty of money so she could easily afford it, but she hadn't even known Louise.
"I'm ashamed that we didn't think of it first. I'll talk to Clay. SAMCRO should throw in some money maybe hit the afternoon news and help build interest to keep up the search provided we don't find her first."
"David knows that I'm behind the donation because I gave him the check, but it's anonymous. I don't want any publicity."
"Unlike you SAMCRO will love the good publicity, but I get why you don't want to draw attention to yourself."
"After I gave him the check, I asked if I could help. I'm calling motels, apartments and anyplace where someone could be holding Louise asking them to search for her and report back their results."
"We're just beginning to organize our search efforts. That's why I'm here actually. I need to coordinate the search with Hale. You could do that."
"I think I'll stay here to help them with what I'm working on. I don't know the city's geography and just don't think I could do a good job. I'm good at getting people to agree to search for Louise. It's boring but I'm helping. That's the most important thing to me."
"OK. Let's get inside and I'll talk to Hale and you can get back to your calls."
"You're not mad at me for helping the police?"
"The reward was kind and generous. I'm proud of you. You're a good person. Scars. As for helping the police, we all have the same goal—finding Louise. I'm here to assist them."
"I'm relieved."
"Come on. Let's go find Louise."
