After that rather short chapter I thought you guys deserved one longer and faster.

I hope you enjoy it.

The Family Life

Trunks dressed in his usual blue capsule corp jacket and pants was standing in front of his daughter.

Iolite had on a blue Gi with the Capsule Corp logo on it and she took a fighting position.

"Whenever your ready Iolite."

Iolite yelled as she dashed towards her father, she threw a kick to the side of Trunks's head only for him to block it with one hand, she then threw multiple punches and kicks aimed at his face.

"Don't just aim at one spot." Trunks lectured while blocking the attacks . "Make your attacks less predictible."

The little girl kept attacking but jumped over her father's head and threw a punch aimed his back.

Trunks merely grabbed the girl's fist and threw her over his shoulder.

Iolite fell and hit her head against the ground. "Oww"

The father saw that and ran over to her. "Iolite, I'm sorry are you ok?"

The girl pushed her hand away and jumped back. "I-I'm fine dad, j-just let me try again." She was trying to sound like that didn't hurt at all but it clearly did.

Trunks felt bad about that but chuckled. He has to remind himself that his daughter while young needs to learn how to fight through the pain. Still he wasn't a fan of fighting back, he rather defend and lecture, he didn't have his father's taste in ruthlessness. "Alright try again."

Iolite thrusted her hands forward and perforemed a bunch of familiar arm movements. "Burning Attack!" She thrusted her arms forward and out came a blast.

A smile was on Trunks's face, he felt satisfaction seeing his child learn his signature, he wondered if Gohan felt that way training him.

Trunks caught the blast with one hand and deflected it upwards. The blast exploded in the air above him and he looked to see his daughter angry that it didn't work. "Don't get so worked up, it was a good attempt, I'm glad you've learned the technique, but don't get upset just because it doesn't land, instead come up with what you'll do next."

Iolite still grumbled in frustration and charged.

Lazuli came outside. "Dinner's ready!"

Iolite's face lit up at that, Trunks couldn't help but smile at his daughter going from frustrated to happy at the thought of food. He went in with his daughter running to the house ready to enjoy the family dinner.

(-)-(-)-

Trunks was enjoying the meal with his family, his energetic daughter was enjoying hers as well, although he had to remind her to try to eat more politely.

"So how was training?" Lazuli asked.

Iolite groaned loudly."It was kind of boring, daddy keeps making me doing boring excercises before we get to fight. And even then he doesn't try his best to fight back!"

And that was what he meant by energetic. She was always complaining about that, kind of like how he felt about Gohan.

Lazuli merely patted her head. "Your father's just making sure he doesn't hurt you."

Iolite merely huffed. "I can take it."

"Oh he's not worried about you getting hurt, he's worried what I'll do to him if he hurts you."

Trunks shrugged. "She's right about that."

"Daddy your such a wimp."

Trunks chuckled at the little insult. "Oh yeah, tell me that when your a Super Saiyan."

"Hah! I bet I can do it easier than you did!"

Trunks patted Iolite's hair despite her protests. Vegeta would be proud knowing his first grandchild was so feisty.

Lazuli smiled at the interaction. "Tell you what since you weren't happy with today's training we go shopping after dinner, I'll let pick any toy you want."

"Really? Yay!" Iolite giggled.

It's funny sometimes she's bratty the next she's all happy. Sadly she's mostly happy with her mother than him, but that was alright from what he can tell she just wants to show off to her dad that she's strong, he'd probably do the same with his own father.

They ate in laughter for a bit more, times like this made life worth while.

After they ate Iolite went to her room to play giving Lazuli and Trunks a moment alone.

"So, have you given it more thought?" Lazuli asked.

"Yeah and I'm not sure it's a good idea."

"Trunks we have to send her to school sometime. Don't you want your daughter to make friends?"

Trunks sighed hearing that. "Look I want to send her to kindergarden, trust me I do." It was something he didn't get to have growing up. "But don't you think she's a bit too rough?"

"Well if anything happens we can always use the dragon balls to-"

"Lazuli"

"I was joking." She smirked.

Trunks rolled his eyes sometimes her sense of humor is too morbid. "You have to admit we can't just leave her at school with a bunch of little kids, she's way too strong."

"She can control herself just fine." Lazuli stated. "She's just playing in her-"

BOOM!

The house shook at the explosion and the parents ran to their daughter's room to see a hole in her wall with her hand pointed at it. She immedieately put it behind her and looked away.

"Iolite" Trunks said sternly. "What did you do?"

The little girl didn't answer for a few seconds but gave in. "I was doing target practice with rocks, I was only using a little energy, I promise."

Trunks turned to Lazuli and rose an eyebrow.

"This wouldn't have happened if you waited to train her when she was older." Lazuli said stubbornly and walked to her daughter. She grabbed her up in her arms. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up."

"Am I in trouble?"

"No but your daddy might be." Lazuli said walking away with her little girl.

Trunks looked at the hole in the wall and walked out. He saw that the blast has left a trail of burnt earth and many boulders were in pieces. He was thankful that they lived far away from any city. Ever since he started training her, she's been having trouble keeping her energy to herself. Maybe his wife was right.

From when his daughter was old enough to walk he started training her, and as predicted she quickly got used to the regimue. Gotten stronger even for his expectations, that was good. It meant she can fight her way out of a jam were anything to happen. But now seeing that she has trouble controlling her immense power means she may not have the normalish life he wanted for her.

Trunks sighed, being a father was more challenging than he'd thought it would be.

(-)-(-)-

Later that night Trunks was in bed with his eyes open.

"Can't sleep?"

Trunks turned his head to see Lazuli looking at him. "Yeah"

The cyborg pulled her arm over Trunks's chest and put her head against his shoulder. "Want to take your mind off it?"

Trunks's eyes widened and he looked away. "N-not tonight Lazuli, I'm just not feeling it."

Lazuli frowned but went along with it. "Trunks if it's about what I said, I want you to know that I understand why you wanted to train her, and know that it's alright if we have to wait to send her to school."

The lavender haired man looked at her. "I just wish I knew what I was doing."

Lazuli didn't say anything for a moment, she didn't really know what she was doing either. "Well you and her are visitng Bulma right? Ask her for some advice."

Trunks put a hand on her head and smiled. "Your right."

(-)-(-)-

The next morning Trunks and his daughter flew to Capsule Corp.

"Hey mom."

"Trunks hi!" Bulma said excitedly and looks down on the little girl. "Hi Iolite!"

"Grandma!" She jumped into Bulma's arms who chuckled as she felt her strong daughter.

"Easy, easy" Bulma laughed feeling the strength of this little girl. She still couldn't help but inwardly groan at being called grandma but at the same time she now has a little girl to dote on, she always wanted a daughter. Bulma lifted her grand daughter laughing.

"Granny why are you covered in grease? Are you inventing something?"

"Hehehe, I'll tell you later sweetie, wanna help me with some inventions."

"Mmm"

Bulma sighed, it looks like she really didn't get her family's taste in inventing. She looked at Trunks. "How's the house going?"

"Good though.. she blasted a hole in her room" Trunks struggled to say.

"Really?" Bulma eyed Iolite who looked away from her. "It's fine."

16 walked behind the group and smiled at the little girl in Bulma's arm. "Hello Trunks, Iolite."

"Uncle 16!" Iolite yelled excitedly and jumped and sat on 16's shoulder.

The android pat the girl's head with a smile while she laughed.

The scientist smiled warmly and let that little thing about the house slide. "Why don't you go outside and play with 16."

"Ok!" The small girl yelled excitingly.

16 merely smiled and walked away with the little girl on her shoulder.

Bulma chuckled, she was the most playful little thing ever and turned to her son.

"So glad you could come by, I hope you and Lazuli are getting along great."

"Yeah we are." Trunks scratched his head. "She wanted to come but she wanted to do some shopping."

Bulma was happy to see her son so happily married to a woman, she of course never dreamed it would be with Android 18 or rather Lazuli. At first she was unsdertandibly apprehensive at the idea, but she got used to it and long accepted that it was all in the past now.

"So what are you working on anyway, never seen you covered in so much oil."

Now was the moment of truth, she couldn't wait to show off her latest project. "Come on."

Bulma lead her son to her lab and showed something that looked familar to the Trunks.

He never saw the actual device, but he recognized it was from one of Dr Gero's blueprints. "Wait, mom that isn't."

"It is." She said eyeing her son's reaction. "Though I'm trying to modify it a bit."

"Your not seriously trying to make this thing are you." Trunks asked. " I mean this thing made Cell and killed me the first time." He tried not to say it harshly, he knew his mother had to have a good reason to recreate this thing.

"I know but I promise it won't be the same at all." She looked at her invention. "See what Dr Gero created was a new creature that has it's own mind. Mine will only make a body without any brain function at all, just an empty husk."

"Wait" Trunks was confused at the purpose of this. "But why bother? If what you say is true then what good will it do for anyone?" It sounds like just making some sort of

"It's for 16."

"What?"

"I know a way to transfer the data from 16 onto a living body, so I'm going to make a human body with some cybernetic enhancement like the twins." She explained. "This way 16 will be a living breating being, and feel at least like Lapis and Lazuli."

Trunks thought about it, if 16 were ever to be destroyed, it'd be impossible to bring him back even with any set of dragon balls. On top of that there'd be not otherworld for him, he'd just be gone, forever. Using one of Dr Gero's inventions was dangerous and risky. But then if anyone deserved to be human or at least close to it it'd be 16.

"But I mean, mom are you sure about this?" He asked. "You did just upgrade him with that metal the Supreme Kai gave us, wouldn't be a waste to just give him a new body?"

"I know, but what do you think 16 wants more, to feel or to be the best machine?"

Trunks knew the answer to that and sees his mother leave the lab, he follows her.

Both of them were went at the garden to see 16 playing with Iolite, tag probably. It looked so innocent and 16 the big lug seemed to have been having fun as well. It made the mother and son smile, 16 was ironically the most human out of the whole group why should he be robbed of this chance? Bulma created a time machine so why couldnt she make something like this?

"Alright mom, I think I'm willing to give this a chance." Trunks said thinking of their friend. "I'll even help you with it, but we should get everyone else's ok too before we finish it."

"That's fair, I'm glad I got your vote son." Bulma chuckled, they watched the little girl play with the gentle giant.

16 stopped chasing Iolite for a moment and smiled over to Trunks. "Thank you for your trust Trunks."

The half saiyan nodded with a smile.

"16! Your still it!" Iolite yelled.

The Android went back to playing with the little girl.

The two watched them play in silent while having tea that Bulma prepared.

"So Trunks, want to tell me what's wrong?" She knew her son wanted to discuss something else.

The half saiyan looked surprised for a moment but then he decided to answer. "I don't know if I'm raising her right."

Bulma rose an eyebrow and looked at the little girl having so much fun playing with uncle 16. "I don't really see what you mean, she's happy, strong and healthy. Reminds me of you back then actually."

"I know but, the way she accidentilly destroyed her room, I can't imagine putting her in a school with kids her own age." He watched 16 tag Iolite and he swiftly jumps back as she tries to tag him back.

"Yeah but I mean you didn't have either and look at how you turned out. A brilliant, well mannered, strong young man." Bulma smiled, inwardly bragging at a job well done for managing as a single parent, with some help from Gohan being a father or older brother figure.

Trunks blushed at the praise. "Well... that's just it." He explained. "I want my child to grow up with things she didn't have, school, friends her age, a peaceful life with no worries." He saw her keep playing. "I trained her because I wanted her to be safe and be able to protect herself for whatever comes next." The half saiyan long accepted that earth will always attract enemies. It's been proven multiple times, and so he did what he had to do for his daughter but what good is that if she can't enjoy being a kid.

"I see" Bulma caught on. "Well Trunks, if you want my advice, just be there for her, and love her." The scientist said giggling at the sight of her grandaughter jumping around to avoid getting tagged. "Love her and be there for her it's all you can do."

Trunks heard what she had to say and nodded. "Right, thanks mom."

"Also" Bulma began. "I have been working on something." She pulls out what looks like a watch.

Trunks grabbed it and looked at it. "What is it mom?"

"It's a power limiting device. Just have your daughter wear it while she's at school and it should keep her from doing anything dangerous." She explained. "Although it doesn't quite go to Super Saiyan so you'll have to come up with something else after that."

Trunks looked at the device it was a smart idea but then his cautious nature made him ask. "I, I don't know mom, I mean what if something happens and she'll need to use it."

Bulma sees the worrywart nature of her son and nods. "Your right, which is why I made it so she can take it off anytime she wants. The only problem is that she may get feisty and just explode when a kid makes her angry." She didn't want to say that, but it was best to warn her, she didn't want her granddaughter causing any trouble, espeicially explosive trouble.

Trunks wanted to say he can trust her, he really did, but given her feisty nature. "I-I still don't know mom."

"Well, it's just an option." Bulma smiled. "I'll tell you this much your more of a dotting father than I thought you'd be."

Trunks's cheeks flushed red at that and looked away.

Bulma chuckled at the sight. She has to admit it feels so good to watch her son going through the issues of being a parent. This was the closest thing he's had to a normal life in the past couple years. She prays that this will continue for at least a little longer.

(-)-(-)-

Hell

Majin Buu, the thin creature was in his pit suffering his punishment.

His body is scattered placed into many minature versions of the ball his creator used to put him in whenever he needed to shelf him. This was a worse punishment as right now his legs, arms, chest, and head were in split apart and they were trying to escape these orbs and reunite.

He's actually done this a couple times but each time that loud man in armor beat him down and put him back in here and his prison was even harsher each time, they orbs would shrink making it a tight fit for his individual body parts.

"So this is your punishment."

Majin Buu's eyes widened as he looked around forgetting that he could not see as his head was in a cursed ball.

On the outside a woman in red and black was looking at Buu's imprisonment. It was Towa. "I'll help you out, but first I'll have to condition you a bit." Towa then casted her spell across all of Buu's body.

Towa could have revived Majin Buu in the living world, but after learning of how out of control the monster was to Babidi, she decided to practice in Demon Realm. And to be sure she can control him she decided come to Hell and see for herself if she can cotnrol him before reviving him.

The ball that contained Buu's head glowed purple. "Ah? Ahhhh!" Buu's head was screaming in immense pain, he feels something trying to reign in his madness, his chaotic rage, he tries to fight it but ultimately starts to feel calm and he quites down.

Towa can hear nothing from Buu. "Moment of truth." She said to herself. The demon woman casted another spell, opening the balls above her and releasing the parts of Majin Buu and they reformed together into the child figure of Kid Buu. Towa prepared herself but to her astonishment, Buu merely just stood there as if waiting for a command.

Towa went as far as touching Buu's head and shoulders. "Yes, I've improved Babidi's spell, I can now control beings as wild as Majin Buu." Those years training in the Demon Realm paid off. Towa casted one more spell on the Majin and the halo above his head vanished. Now Buu was free of the shackles of hell and alive to do her biding.

She stopped herself celebrating when she sensed someone approaching.

"He really does keep a tight grip around here." She sighed and grabbed Buu's shoulder and the two vanished.

A large energy blast hit where the two were.

"Damn it!" Vegeta yelled as he flew into Buu's pit. "Who was she? And what did she do with Buu?" The prince yelled angrily. Strange things were happening to Buu's energy and he flew as fast as he could.

He hated the idea but he had to report this King Yemma, if Majin Buu is out of hell then who knows what that meant for earth.

I wanted you guys to have a taste of Trunks's family life. Well have more of that for a chapter or two before the main villain comes along.

Yes Towa will be involved in this arc but the next villain is not Mira. Kid Buu will be more like a minion in this arc. That's all I'm going to say.

In the next chapter I will show what level everyone's at during what we know is the calm before the storm.

Btw I forgot to mention last chapter the idea of giving 16 a new body was inspired by shadowwriter01's idea in his fanfic Dragon Ball Timelines. He made it so an AI villain was merged into an alternate version of Cell's brain. Only here what Bulma wants to do is create an empty husk that pretty much has no life and the 16's AI will be the only thing operating the body.

Again you guys really should try reading Dragon Ball Alternates and then Dragon Ball Timelines. Those fics really don't have enough reviews in my opinion.

If not at leat try Dragon Ball Aftermath, it takes place after the ToP and it has an intersting version of Demigra as the villain.

Alright review responces.

AxDevilman: We will be seeing more of Lapis and Zangya don't worry.

It has been fun modifying 16 as the story went on, I hope to give him a better role this arc. Bulma's attempting to create a human body with enhancements like 17 and 18. If it works he'll feel like the others and possibly have kids.

Thank you, I hope to make Iolite a likable character. Also her mood swings is more like she's trying to act tough to her dad, to goad him into actually fighting her.

Ok I was curious about that.

shadowriter01:Yes but that will be the shortest chapter in the story. I just couldn't think to fit in anything else. Pretty much what 17 and 18 are, flesh and blood with cybernetics.

p6lishbkser: Thx, I hope to see more of you.

SuperSaiyajin4Vegeta: Ok I thought so, I was wondering about that, a virus is an act of nature. It's already too late for this story I'm thinking of a possible reboot of this story one day and try to make it fit into canon.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this story.

Alright guys that is the end of this chapter, I hope you guys enjoyed and will be back for more. Some news I am working on a RWBY X DBZ Crossover, if your into that check it out and let me know what you think.

Have an awesome day! :)
