Chapter 416 Drive By

Tara was going crazy in her motel room. She didn't know how Scarlett could have lived in one for so long, but then again she had Jax to entertain her. It wouldn't be so bad if she had a hot guy to fill in the hours.

She understood that Scarlett was focused on trying to help find Louise. If she was under police investigation, she would have joined the search. Girls weren't supposed to go missing in Charming. It was supposed to be a safe town protected by corrupt Wayne Unser and an outlaw MC.

Now that she had a little distance on that evening when she'd been forced to kill Kohn to save her life, she was losing the anger she had towards Scarlett for not calling Jax. Scarlett had acted to protect Jax. That was to be expected given their relationship. Guys always came first with girls. She should have figured that out by now.

Jax would have killed Kohn for her. She'd saved his life and Jax would have wanted to pay her back for that, but it wasn't fair of her to want him to come and kill Kohn in cold blood just for her though. She had been going to tell him that if Kohn lived, he wouldn't just come after her, he'd come after Scarlett.

This was stupid. Her mind kept going around and around in circles constantly reliving that night wondering what she could have done differently. Each time, she came back to only shooting him once. She should have shot him a couple of times. Next time someone attacked her, she'd remember that. She'd keep firing until he was dead. Live and learn.

She decided to take Scarlett's suggestion and focus on redecorating her bedroom. It would help her get her mind off Kohn. It still felt like she was living in her father's house. Making changes to the house would make the house hers. Westgate was only thirty minutes away and it had several home improvement stores and furniture stores clustered together in one shopping area. It was the perfect place to get paint samples and check out furniture.

On the way, she decided to drive by Eric's. He'd been so cold to her. She thought everything was fine between them. They hadn't had a fight. She hadn't made demands on his time. When she told him about Kohn, he'd been so distant. She thought he would be comforting, but there was no comfort for her. She had no idea what was going on. Maybe if he were mowing the lawn or something, she would stop by and they could talk.

As she drove by his house, she saw Eric get into Dr. Namid's car. She assumed they left because when she circled the block, the car was gone.

She'd mentioned Dr. Namid to Eric and he'd never mentioned that he knew him. Why would he hide the fact that he knew Dr. Namid?
