Little Toy Bikers and a Woman on the Run

"

Chapter 419 Meet and Greet

"

They rode as a club until they were a few miles away from their destination. Jax and Opie pulled off and waited on their bikes with the van on a dirt road while the others got into position.

"So how was it getting shot in the ass?" Opie asked.

"What is this obsession with my ass?" Jax demanded.

"I've never been shot before. Just wondering what it felt like."

"It hurt," Jax said. "The bullet shots were bad, but Chibs fishing around inside me for the bullets really hurt."

"Chibs still feels bad about almost killing you. I think he's a little afraid of Scarlett after she threatened him."

Jax chuckled.

"Scarlett is a lot of fun. When she was taking care of me after I got shot, I woke up and my left wrist was zip tied to the headboard. She left me a gun, a spare clip, a bottle of water and a candy bar all in a big bowl while she was out at the grocery store."

Opie laughed

"That girl has some mind on her."

"How about you and Donna? Adjusting back to home life can be hard," Jax said remembering when JT went to prison twice once for six months and another time for 18 months.

"It takes work. I thought everything would just get back to normal when I came home, but I realize that I don't really remember what normal is. We're working on it and Donna's a great wife and mother. She's helping me through it."

Jax gave Opie an affectionate punch on the arm.

"You're lucky she stuck with you."

Clay called Jax to tell him that everyone was in position and it didn't appear there was anyone outside waiting to ambush them. That left the house itself. There could be people hiding in the house. To guard against that, the guys had walked into the area around the house and taken up concealed positions to provide cover for Opie and Jax. If anyone came out of that house with a weapon, it was Happy's and Tig's responsibility to drop that person.

"Good times, brother," Jax said. He used the phone he'd first called the man on to tell him that he would be at his house in under five minutes and he needed to wait for them outside.

The man was waiting for them as he and Opie rode up. They couldn't see the rest of the MC, but Jax knew they were around somewhere ready for trouble with their guns drawn.

This was the type of situation they would practice on a paintball field. That was one good thing about Clay; he insisted they have good combat skills including shooting. Jax thought sometimes he went overboard, but today he was glad for all the training he insisted they get.

A short thin man was waiting for them outside the house when Jax and Opie rode up.

The two men shut off their bikes and walked over to the man.

"I'm Jax Teller."

"I'm Opie Winston."

"Uh, my name is John."

Jax and Opie exchanged glances. It was never a good sign when a man hesitated before he said his name.

"What do you want to tell us?"

"I saw a body at that old chair factory on Highland."

"Male or female?" Jax asked.

"Female."

"What did she look like? Where exactly was she?"

"She looked like that picture on the news. Louise. She was near the back."

"Why were you at the old chair factory?"

The man looked down at the ground as if he were searching for an answer there.

"Just looking around."

"You know Opie, I think this asshole is trying to lure us into a trap."

Opie rubbed his chin thoughtfully and nodded.

"That was what I was thinking too."

"No . . . I wouldn't do that," John said still staring at the ground.

"You lure us into a trap and something happens to either of us. What do you think our MC is going to do? Nothing? SAMCRO will come by and pay you a little visit. How do you think that visit will go?" Jax demanded.

"Severe beat down," Opie replied. "Probably not fatal unless something fatal happens to one of us."

The man was shaking.

"Try the truth," Jax suggested with a dangerous edge to his voice.

"This guy gave me some money to tell you about the body. He didn't say anything about hurting anyone."

"You think why he was using you? If it was something innocent, he could have called us himself or the cops."

"I didn't think of that. I never would have agreed if I thought you would get hurt," the man protested.

"How much did he pay you?" Jax demanded.

"Fifty dollars."

"Give it to me."

The man reached into his wallet and pulled out a fifty dollar bill.

"Look I'm sorry."

Jax took the money and stuffed it in his pocket before he punched John hard in the stomach. Opie knocked the man to the ground and kicked him in the back.

"You call the cops and tell them we assaulted you and our MC will come back and put you in the hospital," Jax said.

"And burn your house down," Opie added.

"Yeah, that too," Jax said.

Jax and Opie each gave John a farewell kick before climbing back on their bikes and heading back to the van.

Now they had to figure out what they were going to do about whoever was waiting for SAMCRO at the old chair factory.
