Chapter 422 FBI Freak Out

"

When Jax got back from the police department, he briefed Clay on the potential involvement of the FBI in the search for Louise. Tig was nearby and heard every word. She was even less enthusiastic about this development than Clay. This was nothing short of a nightmare.

She feared nothing from the local police. Unser was too busy fighting cancer to bother fighting crime. As far as Hale, he looked the part of a good cop in his freshly starched uniform and short no nonsense haircut, but that was all there was to it. Just appearance. Underneath it all was a small town cop with a small time brain.

The sheriffs weren't any better or smarter. Nothing to fear there. She'd also been smart. She'd dumped some bodies in different counties so law enforcement didn't make the serial killer link. San Joaquin sheriffs could look for Louise all it wanted; she'd dumped her in nearby Alameda county.

The FBI was a different story. Some of those guys—not the ones at the top—those douches were freaking clueless—but the field agents—some of those guys might actually have some brains. She did not want those guys hunting for Louise.

She had been careful using the knowledge she'd gotten from every detective show on TV about DNA and not leaving any evidence behind. Also, she killed Louise and moved her to a dump site. That would help with not leaving evidence. By not burying Louise, the crime scene would get contaminated by animals and the environment helping keep the trail from coming back to her.

She wanted Louise found. That was the least she could do for Louise's mother—let her know that her daughter wasn't being held somewhere getting gang raped. She'd be upset at first, but she'd get over it.

Tig didn't want the FBI in town not just for her sake, but for SAMCRO's. Who knew what wild stories Hale would fill their heads with? Their trip to Charming could turn into a fishing expedition to expose all of SAMCRO's misdeeds. Nothing would make Hale happier the little weasel faced bastard.

She thought about calling using one of those voice changer devices like the killers used in the Scream movies, but she'd seen somewhere that there was technology that could remove the voice distortion—sort of unscrambling the voice distortion. Calling was definitely out.

Leaving a note somewhere was also a potential problem. She would have to make sure there weren't any cameras or people in the area. The paper would have to be something that was common like a sheet of copy paper. She couldn't risk writing the location down. No matter how hard she tried to disguise her handwriting, there could be some sort of tell that would link the note to her.

She could write the note on a computer and print it, but she thought it was possible to trace a printed document back to the printer. She wasn't exactly sure how that worked, but she didn't want to take any chances printing out a clue to Louise's location.

The printer would only become an issue if someone suspected her and took her printer. She could use her printer and then destroy it. Then she would have to mail it to someone—the police, a newspaper reporter or even Louise's mother. She would have to be careful about the envelope, make sure she didn't lick the envelope, wore gloves and used a self-adhesive stamp. Also when she mailed it, she needed to make sure there weren't any cameras in the area. Damn. It was so hard killing now. Technology had taken a lot of the fun out of it.

For a moment she thought about how they used to do it old school cutting words out of newspapers or magazines. That would be time consuming but it would work—except that left the problem of getting the note to where it needed to go.

If only she knew more about computers and the dark web. Maybe that would be a way to do it. Set up a VPN and then send an email. The only problem was she didn't know if using a VPN would truly keep her identity a secret.

Tig knew she was beginning to spin out of control and when that happened, it usually meant someone was going to die. She'd just been too damned clever when she killed Louise and dumped her body.

What the hell was she going to do now and how was she going to get Louise found? She couldn't let the FBI come to Charming. It could be disastrous for SAMCRO.

Focus Tig, she ordered herself. Find a way out of this.
