Lloyd POV: The second Cole told us that they found Kai Nya and I bolted to the Bounty. I know that they said that they would come and get us. But neither one of us had the patience right now. And since we sprinted at top speed we got there in record time. Just as Cole and Jay were on the deck, about to leave. Both of them were surprised when we both jumped up.

"How did you guys get here so fast? We literally just called you?" Jay asked, but Nya ignored that and rushed up to him.

"Where's Kai? Is he okay? Was he seriously injured?" Nya asked.

But instead of answering right away he just placed his hands on her shoulders and asked, "Nya, promise me you won't freak out first."

She blinked in confusion, "Why?"

"...Because I know you, we all know you. And we need you here. Not running around trying to get revenge. So please, promise me you won't freak out." The way he said all that, the seriousness of Jay's tone, made my blood run cold. I could feel my hands start to shake too.

Nya also went a little pale. However, she didn't look away from him, despite the silence that lingered. Eventually she sighed and answered, "Alright, I promise. Now please tell me."

Both Jay and Cole quickly shared a look before he finally answered her. "We found him after we managed to take down the boss, but… they managed to get some torture in first."

I started to hold my breath as I saw Nya freeze a bit from that. Though she didn't say anything and waited for him to continue. But Cole took a step forward, grabbed my shoulder, and continued the story.

"From what I could tell, they beat on him pretty badly, and stabbed him in his shoulder. And…" He explained, but he trailed off. Like he didn't want to say the next part.

That made me nervous, but it just made Nya upset. She pulled away from Jay and asked, "What?"

"Um… well uh." Cole tried to talk and was failing.

And before Jay could stop her she walked right up to him. I backed out from his arm to get out of her way, only to feel how shaky I was all over. I just hoped that Nya wasn't going to yell. However she wasn't angry as she talked. "Cole, what's happened? What did they do?"

He met her eyes, but shook his head. "Nya… I don't know exactly what they did. We'll have to wait for Zane to explain that but…"

"But what? Please, just cut to the chase." Nya demanded, but she was gentle as she did. Probably because she was nervous too, I could hear it in her voice.

Jay came over and took her hand. Finally Cole answered her. "Kai's arms… They looked burned, not to mention the swelling marks that look like… they were made with chains."

Nya went really pale from that, but I could barely focus because my heart was beating in my ears. I knew that something was going to happen, but this? This was so much worse. It wasn't that long, we weren't that long. How could anyone do that type of damage in that amount of time? And for what? What could be worth all this hurt? It just doesn't make any sense.

"I don't… How did… Is he okay?" She stuttered, getting my attention and pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Zane and Pixal are working on him right now, though he said that he should be fine. He'll need some time to heal, but he's going to be fine." Jay answered instead.

He was going to pull her into a hug. But she started for the hallway, only to be blocked by Jay, who jumped in front of her. That got her mad.

"Jay, get out of my way." She said, coldly. But he shook his head.

"Come on, you promised you wouldn't freak out." He pleaded. But she wasn't having it.

"Jay, he's my brother and I want to see him. I want to help him because he needs me." Again, Jay just shook his head before taking her shoulders.

"Nya, Zane told us that, right now, they need to focus. And they need us to stay out here." He explained.

She wasn't happy about that and she actually had tears in her eyes. As she started to rub her eyes Jay finally pulled her into a hug, which made her cling to him. She was really stressed from all of this, and I hate how hurt she was right now.

Cole wrapped his arm around and pulled me close. "It'll be okay."

"Will it?" I didn't mean to say that out loud, but I couldn't stop myself.

He squeezed me tighter and answered, "Yes, it will. You know Kai, he won't settle for anything less."

I do know him, but I'm also thinking about everything else too. Kai is hurt badly because we were too slow, and now we can't even see him. That most likely means it even looks bad. Not to mention Jay and Cole's reactions to all of this aren't helping. But, despite that, I'm going to trust them with what they're saying. Because I know that Zane and Pixal are going to take care of him. I just hope that it isn't as bad as I think it is.

Zane POV: It took some time to clean Kai up, but it gave me a proper look at the beating he received. He was already extremely dark bruising nearly everywhere, however nothing appeared to be broken. That made me feel very relieved, as did the fact that Pixal was finishing his stab wound's bandages. Though there was still the matter of his arms. The bleeding was no longer a concern, however the burns and swelling was still troubling. Not to mention the markings that were still very clear. I'm still not sure what could have caused such injuries.

But I will worry about that later since I need to focus on treating him right now. I cleared my throat and started cleaning his right arm. Without saying anything, Pixal started on his other arm. Both of us had to be even more careful because his wounds were extremely fragile and every time we touched them Kai would groan in pain. It hurt my heart every time, but I continued to work. Pixal also waited a while before she spoke up.

"These injuries are very peculiar, aren't they?" Was her comment and I nodded.

"I have run through a list of potential… things they could have used. However, nothing matched immediately." I responded. Then we went back to silence.

It took us some more time, but soon we had completely bandaged his arms. He wouldn't be able to use his hands for a while, and will require assistance for things. For now, though, he just needs to focus on resting and recovering. However, I doubt that he will like that fact. Which is a bridge that we will cross at a later date. But something that we can do is inform Nya and Lloyd, since they're probably here and incredibly anxious by now.

As we left the room Pixal asked, "I will go back to the building to check. I am starting to believe that perhaps they used something that was already there."

I thought about it for only a few moments before saying, "You have a good point. I will let the others know."

She smiled and gave me a quick hug before leaving. Once she was gone I gave a heavy sigh. This was starting to get to me in a negative way. I will keep going, but I am in the belief that I will need to talk with Pixal sooner than I thought.
