"We are now landing. Please buckle up as the plane starts to land."
As the plane started to land, three boys were busy thinking about their trip. The first boy, who was surprisingly short for his age, looked outside his window, thinking about what led to him and his friends coming here.
"So this is our big adventure. Hopefully this place can't be any worse than Peach Creek."
The boy failed to notice that one of his friends decided to sneak upon him.
"EDDY!"
Eddy yelped as a particularly large well-built boy jumped and flopped over his lap, making him snap as he tried to pull him off.
"GET OFF ME, LUMPY!"
"Ed, please get off Eddy. And Eddy can you just try your best to not cause a scene." Gently chided the last boy of the trio.
"Okay, Double-D."
"Whatever, Sockhead."
Edwin Horace Taggart was wearing a green jacket with a red and white striped undershirt. He also wore baggy navy blue jeans with black tennis shoes. He was very tall for his age, towering over his friends. His wild spikey orange hair and unibrow also made him unique and his emerald green eyes sparkled with excitement.
Eddward Marion Hayden, or Double-D as his friends called him, was the second member of the trio. He wore a red-orange long-sleeved shirt, and black jeans with light blue shoes. His golden blonde hair was hidden under a black sock-like ski cap. His curious baby blue eyes made him look like he was thinking over something in his head.
Last but not least was Eddy Skipper McGee, the de facto leader of the trio. He wore a yellow polo shirt with a purple collar and faded blue jeans with red sneakers. His jet black hair is normal except in the front, which had three spikey hair strands sticking out. His metal grey eyes look bored, almost as if he'd fall asleep from the sheer lack of action.
The plane finally stopped and almost everyone except the Eds took off their seat belts and stood up.
"Welcome to Tokonosu City, ladies and gentlemen. Please leave in an orderly manner. Make sure you have all of your belongings as the plane has another trip to go. Enjoy your stay in Japan." The flight attendant said as she opened the door for the passengers to leave.
"Well, boys let's see what we can find," Eddy said with a smirk.
"I can't wait, Eddy!" Ed happily cheered.
"Perhaps the audience knows what's going to happen in this story," Double-D noted.
Eddy chuckled. "Not even out of the gate and we've already broken the fourth wall."
The trio then took their belongings and walked out of the plane, looking out to see the sun setting in the distance, making the whole place look breathtakingly beautiful. They soon entered Tokonosu's airport.
"So where are we gonna find your pen-pal, Double-D?" Eddy asked.
"He'll be waiting for us, Eddy. Trust me."
The reason the trio had left Peach Creek and made their way to Japan was because Double-D had been in touch with his pen pal. Double-D's parents were very successful doctors and he had just recently gotten a scholarship from Fujimi Academy, which he gladly accepted and convinced Ed and Eddy to join him.
Ed had picked up plenty of manga to get 'cultured', so to speak, while Eddy had prepared by figuring out how Japanese currency worked in comparison to American. After all, once a scammer, always a scammer.
"Ugh! Where is this guy?!" Eddy complained. "We've been going in circles!"
"Well, if you spent more time helping me look, we wouldn't be in this mess."
"Hey, Edd!"
As if fortune smiled upon the Eds, they saw a young man of above-average height with a slim build, grey hair, and brown eyes.
"Hisashi!" Double-D beamed. "It's so good to finally meet you in person!"
Hisashi chuckled. "Glad to see you too, man. These the friends you've been telling me about?"
"Indeed. This is Ed and that's Eddy."
Eddy casually waved. "Yo."
"Konichiwa!" Ed bowed.
With introductions out of the way, Hisashi helped guide the Eds out of the airport and to the metro station. While Hisashi and Double-D chatted, Ed and Eddy were busy taking in all the sights around them.
"Man, it looks like they've never seen a city before." Hisashi chuckled.
"Well, Peach Creek is quite small compared to Tokonosu," Double-D said. "It's best they get the excitement out of their system."
"Man, there are some hot ladies around here." Eddy chuckled as he admired the many women walking around. "Say, Lumpy, wasn't YOUR pen pal also moving here?"
Ed nodded. "Yupper-Doodle, Eddy! Konrad's Dad got a job here."
"Wasn't his dad a soldier who worked under my grandpa?" Eddy asked.
"Yeah! Konrad is super cool! His dad taught him all sorts of cool stuff!" Ed said.
Eddy was about to ask just what kind of 'cool stuff' Ed was talking about before his eyes zeroed in on a person of interest; a rather beautiful girl with light brown hair that went all the way to her back with two hair stands sticking out in front. Her fiery amber eyes were looking all over the place before seeing Ed and Eddy. Her E-cup bounced hypnotically as she turned to the two boys.
"Hi, lady!" Ed waved with his ever-goofy and innocent smile.
The girl paid Ed no mind as she was more focused on Eddy and the looks he was giving her.
"What the hell are you staring at, baka?"
"Just those bodacious mounds you're carrying, baby-"
Eddy's words were cut off when the girl straight-up bitch-slapped him across the face. Ed just laughed at his friend's misfortune as the girl huffed.
"Owww! What the hell was that about?!" Eddy snapped as he rubbed his red cheek.
"Act like a creep, get treated like one!"
"Ah, Rei, glad to see you could make it." Hisashi smiled. "Guys, this is Rei Miyamoto, she's a close friend of mine."
"Speaking of which, I think Bradley was coming to," Rei noted. "Said something about his pen pal coming here."
"Oh my, what a happy coincidence!" Double-D smiled.
"Big Ed, is that you?"
Ed's grin stretched wide and bright as he spun around to see a Half-Japanese, Half-American boy who was the same height as him. He had unruly black hair and violet eyes.
"PEN PAL!"
Ed ran up to the boy and wrapped his arms around him as he did the same, both laughing and smiling before butting heads together and grinning.
"Oh, this is your pen pal, Ed?" Double-D asked. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you."
The boy smiled as he broke the hug with Ed and shook hands with the sock-hatted boy.
"Name's Konrad Subaru Normandy. Got the middle name from an uncle on my mother's side I've never met."
"How's your dad doing?" Ed asked.
"He's doing alright. Currently working as a Commanding Officer at the US Army Station in Okinawa. How about yours?"
"He and Mom got a divorce..." Ed frowned. "Mom has custody of Sarah and Dad got custody of me."
Konrad winced. "Sorry to hear that, man. But then again, your Mom was kind of a bitch."
"Good riddance to that little pest, I say." Eddy huffed.
"Since Dad has more time to spend with me, he's been helping me work out and get new hobbies!" Ed smiled.
"Heh, I dare say he even gave Lumpy a new brain." Eddy chuckled. "He's still a doofus though, thank god that hasn't changed."
Double-D smiled. "Even now, Ed is still quite the lovable oaf."
"You guys are pretty close it seems," Rei noted with a smile. "As long as you keep your pervy friend in check, I'm fine with you guys."
Hisashi checked his phone and quickly alerted everyone that their train was coming. They managed to make it just in time and found a spot to sit for themselves.
"You're gonna love the rest of our friends, you three." Hisashi smiled. "Something tells me you'll hit it off with Takashi."
Rei snickered. "Something tells me Eddy'll get along GREAT with Takagi-San."
Little did the six realize that their lives and that of all their friends would change forever in a year's time. But for now, they would enjoy the time they had...
The Eds have been placed in the world of Highschool of the Dead, which will have some more fantastical elements to the zombie outbreak, including ones related to Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead, Crysis, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising, and more.
