"Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work."

-Mark Twain.

We see Hiccup messing around with Toothless. Hiccup had polished his hammer and brought it down to the cove, its shininess making a shiny spot of light. Toothless just so happens to want to catch it that he is chasing around the cove for it. Kellen tries to take notes of it but can't, due to how much he is dying of laughter. Hiccup, having had enough of that, decides to put away the hammer, making Toothless wonder where the shiny spot of light went.

"Hey, why did you do that?" Kellen asks, taking in deep breaths since he can finally breathe normally again without laughing. "Well I have an idea for you?" Hiccup states as he walks over to Toothless and prepares him for flight. "Oh! And what's that?" Kellen asks in surprise at what his friend is doing. "How would you like to fly Toothless around the island by yourself?"

"Wait what?! Me. Fly Toothless. Around the island." Kellen replied in shock. "I don't know, what if we crash? What if the other vikings see us? What if…"

"KELLEN!" Hiccup shouts at him, making him shut up. "You are spiraling. You need to breathe."

Kellen, listening to his best friend, starts to take deep breaths, calming down and no longer spiraling over the what if's. "Thanks, I needed that. But are you sure? I mean, he is your dragon and you are the only one to fly with him."

"I know that but I do have good reasons." Hiccup finishes getting Toothless ready and turns to Kellen, looking at him with a kind but serious look. "First off, I want your opinion on the saddle and tail fin. You think differently than me, so when you fly with Toothless, you can notice things that could be improved upon that I wouldn't notice. Second, I want you to fly Toothless around the island, before I do one last tail fin test and fly outside of Berk. And lastly, you deserve to ride him, I mean you have been helping the two of us and you deserve a reward."

Kellen starts to understand where Hiccup is coming from. He hasn't once gotten on Toothless over the two weeks and he has been the one taking notes on Toothless and the tail fin. Both have been majorly useful to the dragon's recovery and bonding. Plus, he has gotten really close to the dragon, to the point that they fully trust each other. "Ok fine. But, when the time come's, you have to help me train my own dragon." Kellen stretches his arm out to Hiccup, waiting for him to shake on the deal.

"Deal." Hiccup shakes Kellen's arm, agreeing to the terms.

Kellen then climbs onto Toothless, looking a bit uneasy on the dragon. Hiccup just takes a step back, letting the dragon stretch his wings for the flight. "Ok, so there is the little note sheet for how the tail should be angled during flight. And make sure you press down on the left pedal to open the tail." As Hiccup said that, Kellen pressed down on the said petal, making the tail fin to open. But unfortunately for Kellen, Toothless thought that he was now ready, and suddenly took off. "Should I be worried for him?" Hiccup just asked himself, as he heard Kellen screaming for his life. "He should be fine. Right?"

Meanwhile up in the air. "TOOTHLESS, JUST BECAUSE I OPEN THE TAIL DOESN'T MEAN I'M READY!" Kellen yells at the dragon, holding on for his dear life. But Toothless just ignores the commit and starts to fly faster, towards the center of the island where the mountain is. "Fine, be like that. See that I car…" But before Kellen could finish, he started to notice the view. He saw the forest from above, looking down at the trees as the two flew over them. For Hiccup, this wasn't amazing. But for Kellen, this was his world. He had spent half of his life walking, exploring, and climbing through nature. He had swam its rivers and ate its berries. He had climbed its trees and explored its caves. He had seen the forest from off a cliff he could get to saw the forest down from it, but this, this was different.

"Wow, just wow. Thank you Toothless. Thank you for showing me this. Now how about we climb the mountain." Toothless growls in agreement and starts to climb higher and higher, seemingly matching the slope of the mountain. After a couple of seconds, the brown and green ground slowly turned to white with snow.

Toothless then starts to get close to the mountain, landing right outside an ice cave off of a cliff. Kellen, getting off, looks at the view he could never have gotten before. He just stands off of the edge of it, looking down on the forest below. Toothless just mirrors him, just enjoying the moment with him.

But that didn't last long for the two. As the two heard a dragon roar behind them, from inside the ice cave. The two just look at each other, both being on edge. "Hey, that hasn't happened to be you who made that noise?" Kellen was then answered with another roar from the cave, but it sounded more like pain then threatening. "Well that answers the question." Kellen then slowly starts to walk to the cave, but Toothless just bites on his vest, stopping him from walking closer.

"Oh come on Toothless. That sounded like it was in pain. Normally I would go the other way, but after getting to know you, I feel confident we can handle this." Kellen explained to the dragon, who had now let go of him. Toothless answered him with an uncertain look and blocked his path to the cave. Kellen just frowns at that. "Listen to me dragon, remember when we shot you down. You were injured and lost a tail fin. We could have killed you right then and there, but no. We decided to help you instead and look where we are now. Outside an ice cave that holds another injured dragon. Do you really want to leave that here, alone, perhaps to its death if it doesn't get help." Toothless then looked conflicted. On one hand, he understands where Kellen is coming from, and how he was in a familiar situation if it wasn't for Kellen and Hiccup. But on the other hand, he understands how dangerous an injured dragon can be in a corner, plus the roar sounded dangerously familiar.

After a couple of seconds, Toothless steps out of Kellen's way, letting the viking teen through. "Thanks Toothless." Toothless starts to follow Kellen, heading deeper in the ice cave.

As the two headed deeper and deeper, they were met with the painful roars getting louder and louder. Eventually, the cave turned into an open cavern, almost like a lair of ice. The top of the cavern was open, but looked like it was forced open by a storm. But the two weren't focused on that, they were focused on the injured dragon in the back of the cavern. Both were scared out of their minds for this dragon was one they were familiar with. One they both feared out of all the dragons. The Skrill.

It had purple and black scales all over its body, with dark grey scales underneath it, covering its stomach and chin. It had large wings and metallic spikes on its back and tail. It had a crown of spikes on its head which are all similar in length, almost that of a Deadly Nadder, with three short spines on their chin. It also had a row of large, overlapping scales along either side of their necks, looking like gills of a fish. Finally, it had two legs and claws on its wings, showing how it looked something similar to a Night Fury, but walked like a Monstrous Nightmare.

The Skrill was trapped in two clear ways. The first was that its tail was in the ice, meaning the storm from a couple of days ago had not only forced the roof open, but mostly freed the Skrill from being frozen in the ice. The second reason it was trapped was because two trees had fallen down on it and were right on top of its body. "Well this is worse than expended." Kellen turns to Toothless, who was giving him a 'I told you so' look. "Oh don't give me that."

Kellen just looks at the opening in the cavern, then at the Skrill. "It looks like when the storm hit a while ago, it opened the roof, making the frozen Skrill visible to it. Then some lightning must have hit it to free it but it must have also hit some tree, causing it to be trapped underneath it." Kellen explained to Toothless, who was just growling at the Skrill. The Skrill then struggles to get out of its trap, now noticing Kellen and Toothless. Kellen saw this and saw how the more it struggled, the more pain it was in. He rushes to the Skrill, ignoring Toothless protests.

"Hey there, I'm not going to hurt you." The Skrill just roars at him, causing Kellen to stop just a couple of feet from it. "I'm here as a friend. I just want to help." He slowly takes steps to the Skrill, one after another, ignoring the Skrill growling at him. "I understand that you are hurting, I get it. I have gotten myself stuck and trapped before too." He was now right in front of it. He stretches his arm out to it, but it bites at him. He barely pulls his arm back in time. "Heh, feisty one, aren't you. I like that. How about we get to know each other." Kellen starts to try again, but Toothless decides to intervene then, rushing to Kellen. "Toothless No! Stay back!" Toothless just stops dead in its tracks, surprised at how Kellen was now giving him a deadly look.

Kellen turns his attention back to the Skrill, putting on a friendly face again. "How about we become friends, or even partners. How does that sound? Partners." Kellen stretches his arm at the Skrill. The Skrill just growls at him, but doesn't make any effort to attack him. Kellen then remembers how Hiccup told him about how he gained Toothless' trust.

Kellen closes his eyes and looks down, continuing stretching his arm to the Skrill. Seeing this, the Skrill stops growling at him, and lets Kellen touch it, letting Kellen put his hand on its snout. Kellen then opens his eyes and looks at the Skrill, which is now calm. "Well what did you know, it actually worked." Both Kellen and the Skrill eased their muscles as the two accepted one another.

Toothless just watches them in shock. He walks over to Kellen, who was only paying attention to the Skrill. The Skrill sees Toothless getting closer but Kellen stops it. "Don't worry, that's just Toothless. He's really friendly." Kellen signals Toothless to come closer, which he does. The Skrill and Toothless just stare at each other, not blinking. Until Toothless starts to sniff it and rub his head on its head, as a sign of trust but also future friendship.

Kellen just watches as the two dragons ease up in each other's company. "Now let's see about getting you out of here." Kellen walks over to the ice that holds its tail stuck, Toothless walking right with him. "Toothless, can you melt the ice with your plasma blast?" Toothless nods and fires at the ice. The ice then shatters into multiple small pieces, freeing the Skrill's tail. "Well that was easy. Now for the hard part" Kellen turns his attention to the two trees that keep the Skrill still stuck.

Over the next couple of minutes both Kellen and Toothless had tried and failed to move the trees. They tried to lift the trees off of the Skrill in multiple ways, which ended in them exhausted. They tried to blow it up, but it didn't do much and hurted the Skrill a bit. They were even now considering burning the trees, but they obviously couldn't without burning/injuring the Skrill.

Now the two were just laying down on the ground, exhausted and tired. "So lifting it with force or by light is a no go. We can't blast it since it's not doing much and it hurts the Skrill. And we can't burn it since it would hurt the Skrill also. So, got any ideas?" Kellen looks at Toothless, but sees that the dragon had a look of disappointment on its face. "I'll take that as a no." Kellen turns his head to look up, seeing how the sky was no longer blue but now a pale light blue and white mixture, signaling that sunset was coming.

"ARRRGGG! Think Kellen, think. We can't lift it, we can't destroy it, and we can't roll it. So what do we do?" Kellen starts to stand up, looking at the trapped Skrill. He then starts to look around, trying to find anything useful but finds nothing. Kellen just sighs, and looks at his hand, as if something will just appear in them. "Damn it. If I only had rope, then I could do something." He turns to look at the dragons, one exhausted while the other was hungry and injured.

He just grips his hands in anger, feeling useless in the moment. But then he realized something. He wears bandages around his limbs. In this realization, he rushes to the Skrill, making both dragons look at him in wonder. He starts to climb one of the trees, all the way to the top. He starts to unravel the bandages around his arms and legs, then starts to wrap them around the tree. After tying them all up together, he makes one big hoop, and tosses it over the edge of the tree. He then jumps down, meeting Toothless at the ground.

"Listen to me, Toothless. See that hoop." He points to the bandage hoop that is dangling from one of the trees. "I need you to grab that while we fly. But only when we build up enough speed, ok?" The dragon nods and lets Kellen on his back. Then he takes off, flying around the cavern in a circle, building up speed. Then, after getting enough speed, Toothless turns to the hoop, grabbing it with his claws as they fly past it. The bandages stretched until it couldn't, Toothless flapping his wings with all his might. Eventually, the tree started to move, being lifted up and falling down, away from the Skrill.

"Yes! It worked." Kellen yells in victory as he and Toothless landed next to the Skrill. "We just do that again and then your free buddy." Kellen stated in excitement as he rubs and pats the Skrills head.

And that's what they did. Kellen did the same thing with the bandages he did the first time and Toothless grabbed it, using his momentum to lift the tree and make it fall away from the Skrill, finally freeing it. The Skrill then stood up, running around in excitement at his freedom. Kellen then hops off Toothless to hug it, forgetting how dangerous the dragon could be. But it didn't mind at all, it actually greeted Kellen and let him hug it.

A few seconds passed and the two stepped away, giving each other space. "So I guess then you will be off, to Thor's know where." Kellen felt happy for the Skrills' freedom, but also sad. He had started to develop a bond with the dragon, a small one, but it was there. The Skrill had a confused look on its face at Kellen's statement. Instead of flying off, it just started to rub its head against Kellen. "Um, what are you doing? Don't you want to go and fly away?" Kellen looked at the Skrill in confusion and then at Toothless, hoping the Night Fury had an answer. Which it did, in the form of a knowing look that Kellen immediately recognized, since he has seen it on Hiccup's face multiple times.

"Wait… No… Y–You don't mean… But…" Kellen just looks back and forth from the Skrill nuzzling him to Toothless knowing gaze. Eventually Kellen gives up on making sense of it and just reciprocates the Skrills actions by petting it. As he did, he felt a strange warmth in his chest, like this was completely natural for him to do this.

Kellen takes a step back, addressing the Skrill. "So just to be clear, you aren't going to leave, but instead stay with me?" The Skrill just nods at the statement. "Ok, going to sit down for this one." Kellen just sits. Just staring at the Skrill as it stares back. "So I guess this means that you're my dragon then. If that's the case I need to name you." Kellen then brings out his note book, the one he used to take notes on Toothless.

Flipping the pages, he stops on an empty page, writing 'Skrill Section' at the top of it. "Let's see, Hiccup named Toothless well 'Toothless' because of how his teeth retract. So I guess I should do something similar as well. Let's see, how about Sparky? Shocker? Thunder? Lightning?" The Skrill just growls at the names, even Toothless growls at it. "Ok those were a bit on the nose but they weren't that bad." The Skrill growls even louder at the statement. "Ok, maybe they were that bad. So how about….. Actually I got nothing."

Kellen looks over at Toothless, who is now laying right next to the Skrill. "Do you have any ideas?" Unfortunately for Kellen, Toothless just gives a low growl for no. "Well doing names based on your abilities and looks isn't the way to go. Maybe we should try some based on your personality? Let's see, you seem to be threatening at first, but overall you're really friendly. You also seem to have a lot of energy like me, like so much energy that once you were freed, you had a huge surge of it. Hey, how about Surge? That sounds cool." The Skrill just laid down, thinking about it.

After a while, the Skrill gave an approving nod to it. "Ok then." Kellen stood up, the dragons following his lead. "From now on you are Surge, the Skrill, and my partner." Kellen nods out his hand, letting the Skrill, now named Surge, put his snout against it.

"Now then, let's get back to Hiccup. It's getting late and we have been gone for a while." Kellen then gets on Toothless, who takes into the air with Surge following them. "Don't worry, Surge, I think you'll like him."

The next day. Both Kellen and Hiccup were back in the Arena, holding shields and weapons with the other teen vikings. Everyone stood side by side, all ready. All except Hiccup, who looked like he was thinking. The reason for this was unknown for everyone. Everyone except Kellen. He knew exactly why Hiccup was distracted. Hiccup was thinking about Surge. Thinking about how his closest and best friend had not only saved a Skrill, but also tamed it.

While Hiccup was thinking about this, the gate started to open. "Meet the Terrible Terror." The tiny gate opened, revealing the Terrible Terror which was only the size of a chihuahua. The teens laugh at the tiny dragon. "Ha! That's like the size of my–" Tuffnut was making fun of it until it attacked him, biting his nose.

The rest of the teens were laughing at him, well except for Hiccup and Kellen. Hiccup wasn't paying him attention and Kellen just rolled his eyes. Thinking quickly, he remembered what Hiccup was doing to Toothless yesterday and adjusted his shield to make a shiny light appear on the ground. "AH! GET IT OFF! OH, I'M HURT! I AM VERY MUCH HURT!" Tuffnut rolled around on the ground in pain as the Terrible Terror followed the light back into its cage.

Kellen then grabbed Hiccup after the cage closed and the two started to walk away. "Wow, they are better than you ever were." Tuffnut told Astrid, who was now gripping her axe in anger.

Later in the forest, Astrid was letting off some steam with Yang, throwing axes over and over again at trees, not stopping once. "Jeez, what in Odin's name did those trees do to you?" Yang joked to Astrid, who wasn't paying any attention to the joke. Astrid rips out her axe from the tree, about to throw it again. But instead of throwing it, Astrid sees Hiccup and Kellen holding a harness, a basket, and a saddle. Hiccup and Kellen then run away, with Astrid and Yang following them. But only after five seconds, the two girls lost them. Astrid just slams her fist in a rock out of frustration while Yang just was looking around, wondering what the two boys were doing.

Now at the cove. "You know, we should keep an eye on those two. That was too close for comfort." Kellen told Hiccup, opening the basket he was carrying and tossing some fish to Surge and Toothless. "We don't need to do that, right?" Hiccup replied back, putting Surge's saddle on as the dragons ate.

"You know how she can get, so determine to find out secrets."

"And yet you have kept your secret friend in the woods a secret from her for years, telling no one, not even me about them."

"Ok, that's fair. So what is the dragon plan today?" Kellen asked, throwing in a little pun.

"Well, you need to get used to riding Surge and I need to check on Toothless flight abilities, make sure nothing was injured during your little 'rescue'." Hiccup then hopped on Toothless, taking to the air. Kellen follows his lead and follows him on Surge.

Hiccup then lands Toothless at a cliff nearby, with tall grass and tree stumps around them as the wind blows in from the ocean. Hiccup gets off of Toothless, pulling out a rope and attaches it to Toothless and a nearby tree stump. "Oh, I see what you're doing. Well I guess we'll leave the two of you to that as we fly above you guys." Kellen and Surge then take off back into the air, leaving Toothless and Hiccup to do their own thing.

Some time has passed and Hiccup starts to finish testing the new tail system and practicing new tail positions with Toothless, writing them down. But suddenly a strong gust comes in, causing the rope to snap, making them crash. Kellen and Surge sees this and hurries to check on them.

"You two ok?" Kellen asks as he and Surge land right in front of them. Hiccup just groans and Toothless gets up, but Hiccup is dragged with him. Hiccup takes a closer look at his saddle and sees that the safety hook has bent, leaving rider and dragon attached.

Later, Hiccup sneaks Toothless into the blacksmith shop to remove the connecting cord. Kellen meanwhile is looking out for people, just so no one goes inside the shop. Unfortunately, Toothless throws a bucket and Astrid hears the noise. Making her turn to see Kellen and walk over to him. "Kellen? What are you doing here? And where is Hiccup? Hiccup are you in there?"

Hiccup hears this and jumps out of the window, Kellen closing the shutter doors right after him. "Astrid. Hey! Hi, Astrid. Hi, Astrid. Hi, Astrid." Kellen just elbows him, signaling him to act more normal.

"I normally don't care what people do, but the two of you acting weird." Hiccup is then pulled by Toothless a bit. "Well, weirder." Hiccup is pulled through the shutter doors. Astrid tries to see what happened and looks inside, but doesn't see anything. While she looks inside, she doesn't notice Hiccup flying away with Toothless. "Seriously, what is going on with the…" Before she could finish, she noticed that Kellen was no longer here and had disappeared.

Two weeks have passed since then, and Kellen and Surge had really bonded with each other, trusting each other completely. But little did Hiccup and Kellen know that their secret relationship with their dragons was about to go under a lot of pressure. Because now, Raven and Stoick had returned.

Ships from the dragon expedition had now come back. Ships had dragon bite holes and scratch marks on them, carrying multiple tired vikings on them. The ship at the front had finished docking, vikings getting off one by one. Stoick and Raven got off last, meeting Gobber on the deck. "Well, I trust you found the nest at least?"

"Not even close."

"Ah. Excellent."

"I hope you had a little more success than us."

"Well, if by success, you mean that your parenting troubles are over with, then... yes." Raven and Stoick looked at each other in confusion, wondering what he meant. But before either one of them could ask Gobber what he meant, vikings who stayed in the village walked by them, giving them compliments about their son's. "Congratulations, Stoick! Raven! Everyone is so relieved."

"Out with the old and in with the new, right?!"

"No one will miss those old nuisances!"

"The village is throwing a party to celebrate!"

"They're gone?" Stoick asks Gobber in disbelief. Raven just stood there in shock, showing a rare glimpse of emotion behind her stoic mask. "Yeah... most afternoons. But who can blame them? I mean the life of a celebrity's very rough. They can barely walk through the village without being swarmed by their new fans." Gobber explained to them.

"Wait?! We are talking about Kellen and Hiccup, right?" Raven asked Gobber in a slight panic, as now she was concerned that something bad had happened to the two. "Don't worry, it's nothing bad. In fact, it's the exact opposite. The two had been dominating their peers. I mean, who would've thought, eh? They have this way with the beasts." Gobber further explained. Raven and Stoick look at each other, faces of hope and amazement slowly forming, thinking that their parenting troubles were ending and were given a miracle.

Meanwhile, the said viking teens were soaring across the ocean, Hiccup on Toothless and Kellen on Surge. "Okay there, bud, we're gonna take this nice and slow. Here we go. Here we go... position three, no, four" Hiccup presses down on the left pedal opening the tail fin. Toothless slightly adjusted himself, slowly turning to get used to the tail when flying over the ocean.

Hiccup looks back at the tail one more time, before taking a deep breath. "Alright, it's go time. It's go time." Then Toothless starts to dive down, speeding up, flying right above the water.

"Come on, buddy, come on, buddy!" Toothless then starts to fly even faster, flying under a huge sea stack. Hiccup then changes the tail fin position, adjusting to the speed. "Yes, it worked!"

Hiccup starts to lean Toothless one way, accidentally making Toothless hit one of the sea stacks. "Sorry!" Hiccup, not learning his lesson, starts to lean again, making Toothless fly into another sea stack. "That was my fault." Toothless hits Hiccup with his ear in agreement.

"Man, and here I thought our first time out here was rough." Kellen stated from above them. He just couldn't help but tease Hiccup and Toothless at their struggle. He had taken Surge to fly outside of the island multiple times already, since Surge didn't rely on Kellen to fly.

Speaking of the dragon, Surge was wearing his new saddle. Kellen thought it was unfair how the two teens worked so hard on the saddle just for Toothless, that he wanted to make one for Surge. Surge's saddle was very different compared to Toothless's. For starters, it was about a third longer than Toothless's and in the back, split in two so it goes around the dragon's spikes. It had two leather grips/handles at the front, right behind to the head, for when going at faster speeds but Kellen normally grabbed on Surges head spines for flight. The final difference between the saddles was the pedals. Kellen did have pedals, so he could put his feet on it, but the pedals were on a little mechanism so Kellen could move it to the back for flying faster or move it up front for slower, calmer speeds. But also so Kellen would lean down more and make himself more aerodynamic with Surge.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm on it. Position four, uh, three." Hiccup adjusted the tail again, letting Toothless fly up. Kellen stares at the shrinking figure of Toothless and Hiccup, as he and Surge calmly fly.

"Do you think Hiccup is going to fall off?" Kellen asks Surge, raising his hand to block the glare of the sun. Surge gives Kellen a disapproved growl at him, questioning why Kellen asked that. "Well I mean, Hiccup has a repeating pattern of getting thrown off Toothless. Think about it. There was the time he first put on Toothless's tail, and he was thrown off into the lake. Then there was the time we discovered dragon nip, where Hiccup was, again, thrown off. Lastly, there was the time we tested the lasted tail system. It did work but Hiccup was again thrown off Toothless. But this time the safety hook was bent and we went to Berk to fix it. I'm getting ahead of myself again." Kellen sighs, finishing recalling all the time's Hiccup was thrown off Toothless.

"Look, I wouldn't be surprised if Hiccup was…" Kellen pauses, as he hears someone and a dragon scream. He looks up to see Hiccup falling down, with Toothless swinging around crazily right next to him. Kellen had only two words for this situation. "Knew it." Surge growls at Kellen's claim, not liking how his rider just bluntly showed off his knowledge. "Well, what should I do then, you all knowing dragon." Kellen sarcasm just made Surge a little mad, causing the dragon to start sparking.

"OW! Come on, you can't be that mad." Kellen complained as he pulled back his hands away from Surge's head. Surge lets out a small grumble, both now forgetting about the falling Hiccup and Toothless. "Fine then, be like that." Kellen crosses his arms and looks away from Surge, acting like he is mad too.

A couple seconds later and both rider and dragon remember about Hiccup and Toothless. "Wait, wasn't Hiccup and Toothless just falling?" Kellen and Surge then sees Hiccup and Toothless fly out of a group of sea stacks, shouting in victory. Before Toothless shoots a blast of fire and flies through it.

Hours later and the four were now resting around a campfire on a sea stack. Toothless and Surge shared a huge pile of fish as Kellen and Hiccup were cooking theirs in the fire. Everyone looked fine but Hiccup, who looked slightly singed by the fire Toothless shot. Toothless regurgitates a fish head, then looks at Hiccup. "Uh... no thanks. I'm good."

A flock of Terrible Terrors lands in front of them. Toothless sees how the Terrors approached the dragons, how they were looking at their fish, and growls at them. The Terrors try to steal fish from Toothless and Surge but Surge just gives them a menacing look, scaring them away from him. But the Terrors continued to try and steal from Toothless, who tried to chase them away. One of them fights Toothless over a fish and loses. It tries to attack, only to be blasted in the mouth by Toothless, causing it to briefly inflate, making Toothless and Surge laugh.

"Not so fireproof on the inside, are you?" Hiccup tosses the Terror a fish, which it swallows whole. "There you go." The Terror curls up next to Hiccup like a kitten, purring softly. "Everything we know about you guys is wrong…"

"I'll say. The book of dragons says that Toothless is the offspring of lightning and death itself. But really he's an overgrown cat with wings." Toothless shoots a dirty look at Kellen, not liking how Kellen just described him.

When the two teens got back to Berk, Hiccup headed to their workshop at the blacksmith shop, to think over the war against the dragons, while Kellen headed straight home. As Kellen approached his house, he saw that there were a lot more vikings out than there were the past couple of weeks. Not thinking too much about it, he opens the door to his house. Only to find Raven at the other end, looking a bit surprised.

Kellen and Raven just stood there for a while, surprised to see each other. Kellen was the first to recover, pushing Raven out of the way to enter inside. "Back already I see."

Raven gets her bearings, taking a deep breath before grabbing Kellen's wrist. "Wait a moment, we need to talk." Kellen pulls his arm out of Raven's grip, rubbing his wrist as the two sit down at the table, both having stoic faces.

Everyone else was upstairs, watching the two sit, ready if anything got out of control. Yang and Ruby were wondering if Kellen did something wrong, but nothing came to their minds. Summer and Tai had concerned faces, they knew what Raven wanted to talk about. But not sure how Kellen would react, since the son never really experienced pride or happiness from his mother. Qrow was the only one with a smile on their face, since he wanted to see some drama and was half drunk.

"I know you have been keeping secrets." Raven bluntly stated, making Kellen eyes widen before he put back on a stoic face. "I don't know what you're talking about." Kellen responded by dismissing Raven's statement, hoping she didn't notice his eyes widened.

While Kellen had a stoic face, a million thoughts were racing through his head. Does she know about Toothless and Surge? Did she know about Hiccup's involvement? How did she find out? What's going to happen to their dragons?

"Oh, but I think you do. Going into the forest almost every day, saying that you have been exploring. But in reality, you have been training. You think I wouldn't realize." Raven calmly stated, not showing any emotion.

Kellen knew that this was it, that he was going to either be killed or banished. He knew that he could deny it, but it would only make things worse. So, he decided to confirm it. "So you found out. Good for you. I hope you're proud." Kellen sarcastically confirmed.

"You're right. I am proud. I had never been prouder of you." Raven showed him a small smile, a show of motherly affection she hadn't clearly shown him in years. And for a second, the world seemed to stop. Yang and Ruby were surprised, no, it was more than just surprised. Summer and Tai just smiled at the fact Raven showed some affection. Qrow had a mixed look of disbelief and disappointment.

Kellen was blanked. His mind was blank. His face was blank. It was as if odin himself had appeared right before him. After a couple of seconds, processing what she said, he felt something warm in his chest. Something he never felt before. He had felt something similar before, when Summer or Tai would give him some affection. But it never felt like this. He wanted to say something, to ask if she really meant it. But the words wouldn't come out, nothing came out of his now open mouth.

"I know that I haven't shown you a lot of love, but I mean it. And believe me, it's only going to get better! Just wait 'till you spill a Nadder's guts for the first time! And mount your first Gronckle head on a spear! Just think about how we can kill dragons side by side soon! I almost thought that you were going to stay in the blacksmith shop forever or leave and become some sort of wild viking animal! But all this time, you were holding out on me! Praise Thor almighty! With you and Hiccup doing so well in the ring, we don't have to worry about you fitting in or surviving anymore." Raven proudly stated, now had a smile on her face. Not a big one but a normal smile. Though this was the biggest smile Kellen had seen on her face, ever.

But rather than feeling happiness or joy or any of those feel good emotions, all he felt was sadness and disappointment. He knew that he should be happy, but he couldn't. Not when she was proud of something he was never going to do, not when he saw him not for him, but for this dragon killer. He just felt empty inside, knowing that she was never going to love the real him, the real Kellen Branwen. But he couldn't let her know that, so he forced a smile on his face, acting like he was happy.

"One more thing. I want you to have these." Raven then pulls out two hatchets, setting them down in front of Kellen. "When I was your age, my father gave me two weapons, a dagger and a sword. Now I'm giving you two weapons, two hatchets. I figured that you would prefer these since you prefer to use an axe."

"I… I don't know what to say." Kellen grabbed the hatchets, feeling the handle and weight of it. It felt like it was made for him, that he had these for years yet they were brand new. "Yyyyyaaaawwwwnnnn. Um, thank you. Really. But it's late and I should be going to bed now. You know, to make sure I'm well rested for dragon training tomorrow." Kellen stood up, still holding the hatchets, and walked upstairs into his room.

The next day, a lot of the vikings watched the last dragon training lesson, the last one before one of the teens would kill their first dragon. Hiccup and Kellen were taking cover, both having their 'gifts', Hiccup was wearing a viking helmet that his dad gave him and Kellen had his two new hatchets. The two were hiding, trying not to do anything to get picked for the dragon killing. Unfortunately for the two, Astrid was too mad to notice this, getting into the two's faces. "Stay out of my way! I'm winning this thing."

"Good. Please, by all means." Hiccup replied back, but Astrid was already gone. The two boys stood up, looking at the crowd. Their eyes searched until they saw their parents, and Ruby, looking down at them, giving them support. "Now that makes me feel worse." Kellen bluntly told Hiccup, not wanting to disappoint their parents but not fight the dragon.

Meanwhile, Astrid was in the zone. She had good cover, was close to the Gronckle, and was in the perfect spot to attack it. "This time! This time, for sure! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Astrid charges at the Gronckle, hopping over barriers, only to see the Gronckle on the ground, with Hiccup and Kellen standing right next to it. "NO! NO! SON OF HALF-TROLL, RAT-EATING MUNGE BUCKET!" Astrid, who had now lost her cool, was throwing her axe around.

"Wait! Wait!" Stoick yells to everyone, walking down next to the teens. "So, later." Hiccup and Kellen tried to leave but Gobber stopped them before they could. "Not so fast!"

"We're kinda late for–" "What?! Late for what, exactly?!" Astrid interrupted Hiccup, pointing her axe at his throat, but Kellen pushed the axe away. "Okay, quiet down. The Elder has decided."

The area was now silent. The Elder, Gothi, was now picking out of the three teens. Kellen, Astrid, and Hiccup. Gobber raises his hand over Kellen's head, but Gothi shakes her head. Some disappointed groans and grunts came out, but Kellen just sighed in relief. Gobber then moves his hand over Astrid, but Gothi shakes her head again. This time, there were more surprised groans and grunts. But Kellen wasn't paying attention to that. He was paying attention to the furious look Astrid was now giving Hiccup. Gobber now raises his hook over Hiccup's head, and Gothi nods.

"You've done it! You've done it, Hiccup! You get to kill the dragon!" Gobber shouted in excitement. "Ha, ha! That's my boy!" Stoick couldn't help but join his friend. The other teens go over to Hiccup and lift him up, all shouting in excitement. But Hiccup wasn't smiling. "Heh. Oh, yeah! Yes! I can't wait. I am so…"

Hours later at the cove. "...LEAVING! We're leaving. Let's pack up. Looks like me and you are taking a little vacation, forever." Hiccup shouted, now in his flight gear and carrying a basket. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" Kellen couldn't help but ask. He didn't like the idea of Hiccup leaving, sure he could go with him, but then who was going to cover him if someone asked questions or go after him.

While the two were focused on getting Hiccup ready, neither of them noticed Yang or Astrid sitting on a rock. That was until they heard Astrid sharpening her axe. "Ah, man... Aggh! What the- What are you two doing here?"

Astrid hops down from the rock, Yang following her. I want to know what's going on. No one just gets as good as you do. Especially you. Start talking! Are you training with someone?" Astrid pointed her axe at Hiccup, while Yang pulled on Kellen's hair braid to stop him from interfering. "Uh... training?"

"It better not involve this!" Astrid gestured to his flight suit. Hiccup tried to explain, walking back away from Astrid. "I know this looks really bad, but you see...this is, uh... You're right! You're right! You're right. I'm through with the lies. I've been making... outfits. So, you got me. It's time everyone knew. Drag me back. Go ahead. Here we go." Hiccup tries now to stop Astrid from looking around, but Astrid bends his arm backward instead, making an audible cracking noise, forcing him to the ground.

Now Kellen was getting mad, trying to get Yang to let go of his hair. "OW! Why would you DO that?!" Hiccup asked, but Astrid had a quick response. "That's for the lies." Astrid drops her axe handle on his gut "And THAT'S for everything else."

Hiccup rolled around in pain, Kellen was painfully trying to get out of Yang's grasp. Now Yang was going to ask questions but before she could, they heard a growl. They look over to the source to see Toothless, now awake, heading right to them. "Get down! RUN! RUN!" Astrid tries to attack Toothless, but Hiccup pushes her and her axe away. Yang lets go of Kellen and goes to attack as well, but Kellen grabs her in a full nelson, stopping her.

Hiccup gets in between Astrid and Toothless, stopping Toothless from attacking. "NO! No. It's okay! It's okay... she's a friend. They both are friends. It's okay. You two just scared him." Toothless calms down, but continues to growl at Astrid and Yang. But Surge came from behind, also looking to attack. This time Kellen greeted him and stopped him from attacking his sister and her friend. "Make that both of them."

"I scared them?! Who is "them"?" Astrid asked, Yang helped her up and both backed away from the two dragons. "Astrid and Yang, Toothless and Surge. Toothless and Surge, Astrid and Yang." Hiccup bluntly but gently stated. Toothless and Surge growled at the two girls, while Kellen couldn't help but facepalm. "You couldn't have, I don't know, thought about my worries some more from a while back." "Well I did think about…" While the two argued/talked, Astrid and Yang started to run away.

Hiccup sees this and stops talking with Kellen. "Da, da-da! We're dead!" Toothless turns around and starts to leave "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Where do you think you're going?!" Kellen sighs and looks over at Surge, the Skrill no longer growling but looking at where the girls went. "You get Astrid, I'll handle my sister." Kellen told Hiccup, who was running after Toothless. Kellen gets on Surge and the two fly off after the two girls.

Astrid and Yang were running through the forest, Surge suddenly swoops down and picks Yang, both girls screaming in surprise. "YANG!" "ASTRID!" The girls tried to grab each other but Surge was too fast as Yang was now high up in the air.

Yang couldn't help but scream the entire time as Surge carries her to the top of a tree at a cliff, making them lean over the shore of the island. He then drops her on a branch, letting her hold on for dear life as he and Kellen sit above her. "Kellen, if you love me, even a little bit, you will get me down from here!" Yang shouted at her brother in both fear and anger. "Are you going to let me explain why I'm riding a dragon?" Kellen asked Yang, not in his usually light hearted tone, but in a fully serious tone.

Yang notices his change in tone, the tone he rarely uses. The only time she had seen him use that tone was with Raven, and she knew that this was a big deal for him if he was now using that tone. "Ok fine. But you're not going to feed me to the dragon, right?" Kellen just gives her a deadpan look. "Jeez, just had to make sure." Yang then starts to slowly climb up, getting on Surge and holding onto Kellen.

"Now Surge, head to the cave we met." "Wait what?!" But before Yang could ask more, Surge blasts off the tree, heading to the mountain, to the cave they met. Yang screamed and held on to Kellen tightly, while Kellen was completely calm. Kellen adjusted him and Yang so he could lean down and let Surge go faster.

After a couple of minutes, which Yang never stopped screaming, they reach the cave where Surge and Kellen met. Landing, Surge slowly walked his way down into the cave. Yang made no attempt to get off, since she was shaking. Whether it was from fear, or from excitement, or both, Yang made no attempt to let go of her brother.

Now in the cavern, Kellen got off of Surge, Yang also got off but still didn't let go of her twin. "You ok? You have been holding me the entire time." Kellen tried to ask Yang, but she wasn't paying attention and was still shaking. Having enough of this, Kellen decided to move things along and slap her out of this. With a slap.

SMACK.

"OW!" Yang shouted in pain, holding her left cheek. "Sorry but you wouldn't stop shaking and you weren't answering me." Kellen explained, handing her a chunk of ice, from the ground, for her cheek. Yang took it and pressed it against her cheek. "Sorry."

Kellen just sighs and walks over to a fallen tree, one of the trees that was trapping Surge. "When I found Surge, he was trapped. His tail was stuck in ice and he was underneath two trees." Yang looked over to Kellen, hearing a gentle tone she had never heard from him before. She had heard his normal tone, a light hearted tone, and his serious tone. But never a tone that was gentle like this.

"I went on my first flight that day. On Toothless. Toothless is the Night Fury." Kellen explained, Yang just nodded. "Anyway, we landed outside of the cave, taking in the view. Then we heard Surge in pain. We went in, found him trapped and decided to free him. He was aggressive at first, since I was a viking. But over time, he saw how I actually wanted to help him. Then after hours of struggling, we freed him. Me and Toothless were exhausted, easy to kill. But Surge didn't. Instead, he just showed me affection. Affection I hadn't felt since I was a baby. I then tried to let him go free, but he decided to stay with me." Kellen walked back over to Yang, petting Surge who nuzzled him back.

Yang just stared at Surge. She read about how Skrill were one of the most dangerous dragons in the world, how you would need an entire village of vikings to go against just one. But here was that Skrill she read so many times, that dragon which she feared so much, now nuzzling her brother, like some sort of dog or cat. "Yang." Hearing her name, she looked back at Kellen, who was now looking in her eyes. "Dragons are amazing creatures. They can do amazing things as well. I have seen it first hand. Yes they can be violent but that's just because we are also violent. Think about it, if you attacked a wild animal it would attack back. But if you would leave the animal alone, it wouldn't attack. It's just like us and the dragons. If we attacked a dragon, it would fight back. And if a dragon would attack us, we would fight back. But if the dragon left us alone, we wouldn't attack it. We have gotten so used to violence first with dragons, that everyone thinks that there is no other way."

Yang thought about Kellen's words, and it started to make more and more sense. She realized how Kellen thought about dragons, how they could be amazing. "I…. I don't know what to say." She starts to reach out to Surge, trying to pet him. But she stops, too afraid to do so. But Kellen grabs her hand, and leads it to Surge's snout. Sniffing it, Surge places his snout against her hand, showing how he accepts her. Feeling this, she looks at Kellen and Surge in amazement and wonder.

"We were wrong. About everything we know. So what are we going to do now?" Yang looks over to her brother, who just smiles at her. "Now. Now we head back to the cove and wait for Astrid and Hiccup." Kellen started to walk out of the cave, Yang and Surge following him. "What makes you so sure Astrid will be there? Wait, we were heading back to the village. What if she tells everyone about the dragons. Kellen, we have too…" Yang stops herself, seeing how Kellen was smiling and had a carefree aura around him.

"Don't worry, Hiccup kidnapped her. Just like how I kidnapped you." Kellen explained, the twins getting on Surge and starting to fly back to the cove.

"You know, you could have said that better." Yang pointed out, now more relaxed on Surge's back this time.

"But it is the truth." Kellen argued back, looking over at the setting sun.

After another couple of minutes, the twins and the Skrill arrive back at the cove, the night sky shining down in the lake. They get off Surge and look around to see Hiccup, Toothless and Astrid nowhere in sight. "Should we be worried? I mean what if something happens to them?" But before Kellen could answer his sister, they saw the other three land in front of them.

"No, it totally makes sense. It's like a giant beehive. They're the workers, and that's their queen. It controls them. Let's find your Dad." Astrid runs off of Toothless, but Hiccup stops her. "No, no! Not yet. They'll... kill Toothless. Astrid, we have to think this through carefully."

"Um, bit in the dark here. Mind sharing with the rest of the group?" Kellen pointed to him and Yang. "Oh, you're here." Astrid bluntly said to Kellen. Now turning her attention to Yang. "Yang, we were so wrong about–" "I know Astrid. Kellen explained the dragons to me." Yang interrupts her but hugs her best friend. "Now what's this about a giant beehive?"

"Ok listen closely." Hiccup then starts to explain about how they met the Red Death and how it was making the dragons attack Berk.

"No wonder the dragons kept taking our food, they needed to feed the Red Death or else they would be eaten." Kellen commented.

"Red Death?" Everyone else just looked at Kellen in confusion.

"Red Death. The giant dragon that's controlling the dragons. I thought it fit well since it lived in a volcano, the red part, and would eat anything, the death part." Kellen explained, but everyone looked at him like he was crazy, wondering if he was really talking about the name of it right now.

Yang decided to get back on top, about what they are going to do. "Sure, Red Death it is. But now what do we do?" She looks over to Hiccup and Kellen, wondering if they had a plan since they were the dragon experts. "Well we should tell everyone, we just discovered the Dragons' Nest. The thing we've been after since Vikings first sailed here." Astrid started to explain.

Kellen didn't like the thought though. He didn't want to see the betrayed look on his family's faces if they found out about Surge and Toothless. "No. Astrid, if we tell everyone about the Dragons' Nest, they'll go after Toothless and Surge as well."

Astrid looked at Kellen in shock. Even Yang was a bit shocked, but understood where her brother was coming from. Astrid on the other hand didn't. " Are you serious?! You want to keep it a secret?! To protect your pet dragon?!"

"Yes." Hiccup spoked out, surprising everyone.

"Okay. Then what do we do?" Astrid asked Hiccup, everyone looking at him.

"Just give me until tomorrow. I'll figure something out."

"Are you sure dude? You are going against the Monstrous Nightmare tomorrow."

"Trust me." Hiccup looked Kellen dead in the eye, both of them looking at each other in trust.

"Ug. Boy's." Yang couldn't help but whisper that to Astrid. "Anyway, we should be heading back now. Bye~." Yang then proceeds to drag Kellen away from Hiccup and Astrid.

Astrid and Hiccup looked at each other in confusion about the twins. But, after a couple seconds, Astrid decides to move things along, and punches Hiccup in the shoulder. "That's for kidnapping me." Then she pulls him close and kisses his cheek. "That's for... everything else." She then ran after the twins.

Hiccup just stood there in shock. Then looked over at Surge and Toothless, who were drinking from the lake. "What are you two looking at?"

The next day, in the morning. The whole village was at the dragon arena, ready to see Hiccup kill the Monstrous Nightmare. Stoick stood at the top of a platform overlooking the arena, Raven right next to him. "Well, I can show my face in public again! If someone had told me that in just a few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in Dragon Training... Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised...or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!"

As Stoick made his speech and the vikings cheered, the four teens: Hiccup, Kellen, Yang, and Astrid, met at the entrance of the arena. "Be careful with that dragon." Astrid placed a hand on Hiccup's shoulder, giving him some encouragement.

But Hiccup wasn't worried about the dragon, he was worried about his father. "It's not the dragon I'm worried about." Hiccup looked up at Stoick, who looked like a proud father.

"You got a plan? I hope it's a good one." Yang committed. Kellen elbows her for doubting their cousin. "Of course he has a plan, this is Hiccup we are talking about. But what is the plan?" Kellen asked.

"To put an end to this." Hiccup answered, but all three eyed him with doubt. "I have to try. Kellen, if something goes wrong... just make sure they don't find Toothless." Kellen nods at his best friend's request. "I will. Just... promise us it won't go wrong." Kellen told Hiccup.

But then Gobber came along and let him inside the arena. "It's time, Hiccup. Knock him dead."

Hiccup enters the Arena, adjusting his helmet. He walks over to two weapon stands. He looks over them and picks a dagger and a shield from the weapon stands.

"Hrmph. I would've gone for the hammer." Stoick couldn't help but comment to Raven, who nods with him.

Hiccup walks over to the center of the arena, right in front of the cage. With one deep breath, he set a determined look on his face. "I'm ready." The door of the center cage slowly started to rise, then crashing out, came the Monstrous Nightmare, on fire. It ran around the arena, shooting fire at the audience. It then stopped, finally noticing Hiccup, and started to approach him.

Hiccup backs away slowly from the Nightmare slowly, dropping his shield and dagger on the ground, raising his hand to it. This catches both the dragon and audience off guard but no one stops it. "What is he doing?" Stoick asked Raven, but she was wondering the same thing.

"It's okay. It's okay. I'm not one of them." He then throws his helmet away and onto the floor, calming the dragon down. But this caused a lot of vikings to get mad and upset.

"Stop the fight." Stoick rose from his seat.

"No! I need you all to see this. They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them." Hiccup tried to explain, getting closer and closer to touching the Nightmare.

Everyone looked shocked and turned to Stoick, who was now mad. "I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!" Stoick slams his hammer against the Arena railings, agitating the Nightmare and making it bite at Hiccup, who dodges it. Then the Nightmare shoots its fire at Hiccup, making him scream.

Meanwhile at the cove, Toothless woke up, hearing Hiccup scream.

Stoick watches as the Nightmare chases after his son, now fearing for his son's life. "Out of my way!" Stoick pushes people to the side as he and Raven make their way to the entrance.

"HICCUP!" Kellen, Yang, and Astrid shouted at him in fear. Astrid grabbed an axe off of the wall, using it to lift up the gate a bit. Letting the three of them climb under it.

Back at the cove, Toothless kept hearing Hiccup's screams, and tried to climb out of the cove. After a few attempts, Toothless got a strong grip with his claws against the ground and escaped the cove. But Surge was still in there, sleeping peacefully. As it turns out, Skrill's sleep when they are frozen solid, meaning that they are heavy sleepers and don't wake up as easily compared to other dragons.

Hiccup dodges another blast from the Nightmare, then runs and grabs a shield.

Now hearing more of Hiccup's screams, Toothless runs faster though the woods, in order to save his friend in time.

Now Stoick and Raven arrive at the arena's outer gate, they lift it in a hurry, not wasting time and rushes down to help.

"Hiccup!" Astrid shouts at him, hoping to get his attention but he is too focused on staying alive. She looks around for anything useful and sees Kellen holding out his hatchets and Yang holding out a shield. Astrid then runs over to the broken weapon pile and throws a hammer at the Nightmare, hitting it in the face.

Now the Nightmare focuses its attention at her and fires at her. Luckily, Yang blocks it with her shield, protecting the two. While the two hide from the flames, Kellen goes around it and slashes one of its legs. The Nightmare stops firing but starts to chase Kellen instead.

Stoick and Raven arrive now, opening the gate and shouting to the teens. "This way!" Yang and Astrid manage to escape, Raven protecting them both, but the Nightmare fires at Kellen and Hiccup. Stoick manages to grab Kellen though and pull him away. But he fails to grab Hiccup, who runs away from the fire. The Nightmare jumps off the arena wall and pins Hiccup down with its claws.

But before anyone or anything could react, they all heard a high pitch sound, and turned to see Toothless come and blasting at the arena chains. This causes a smoke screen as everyone hears the two dragons fight and growl. Hiccup gets free of the Nightmares claws as the smoke starts to disappear. Revealing Toothless and the Nightmare fighting or you could say dragon wrestling.

"Night Fury!" Toothless was on the Nightmares back, which it tried to bite him off. But it couldn't reach him and fell backwards trying to bite him. Now Toothless was on the ground, but he quickly kicks the Nightmare off him and away from Hiccup. Toothless then growls at the dragon, protecting Hiccup as it prevents the Nightmare from getting any closer. Everyone looked shocked at this, at the fact a Night Fury was protecting a viking from another dragon.

With one more loud growl at the Nightmare, it ran away. But now, instead of celebrating, Hiccup tried to make Toothless leave. "Alright, Toothless, go. Get out of here!" Vikings started to come in from outside the arena, falling down and charging at Toothless. "Go! GO!" But Toothless wasn't moving, he looked over to his dad and Kellen to see Kellen nodding to him, running away. But Stoick doesn't notice this and also joins in as he grabs an axe and runs to them. "No, Dad, he won't hurt you!" Toothless growls at them, thinking they were going to hurt Hiccup, and starts to attack them. He hits them with his wings, sending some flying, he kicks one away with one of his legs, he even uses his tail to push them away. "No, don't! You're only making it worse! Toothless, STOP!" Toothless doesn't listen, but instead tackles Stoick to the ground, readying a plasma blast at him. "No! NOOOOO!"

Toothless stops, hearing how upset Hiccup was. But before the two could do anything else, someone punches Toothless in the face. "Get him!" After that phrase, Vikings slammed Toothless to the ground, first by his head then the rest of his body. "No! Please, jus- just don't hurt him! Please don't hurt him." Hiccup tries to go and save Toothless but Yang and Astrid stop him.

Stoick stood up, looking at Toothless and then Hiccup. He sees someone trying to give him an axe to kill Toothless but he pushes it away. "Put it with the others!"

After the vikings caged Toothless and Stoick pulled Hiccup aside. Raven was looking around, to find her son but didn't see him anywhere. All she could do was wonder where he was.

Meanwhile, Kellen was running through the woods, running to the cove. He climbed over fallen trees and logs, jumped off of rocks, and slid down small hills when he could. All he was thinking about was getting to Surge so they could go back and rescue Hiccup and Toothless.

But in his panic, he constantly tripped over roots and small rocks, stuff he normally would notice. But he would immediately get right back up, no matter how many times he fell.

Eventually he reached the cove, finding Surge asleep in a sun spot. "Oh come on. GET UP YOU LAZY DRAGON!" Kellen yelled at Surge, putting in miss guided anger in it. Surge immediately got up, but growled at Kellen for his angry tone. Kellen stops dead in his tracks, realizing his mistake. "Look, I'm sorry I sounded angry. But Toothless got caught by the vikings and now Hiccup is in trouble. We have to go and rescue them."

Hearing Kellen's explanation, Surge immediately forgives him and rushes to his side, letting the viking on his back. Now wasting a second, Kellen climbs on and the two fly off to Berk. The two fly as fast as they can, not wanting their friends to suffer. But Kellen pulls back on Surges' saddle, making him stop. "Wait, look over there." Kellen points over to the ocean, where they see the Berk fleet sailing off. "Where are they going?"

Surge slowly flys over the village, over to the edge of the village. Down below, they see Astrid talking to Hiccup. Seeing Hiccup ok, Kellen leads Surge down and lands right next to the two, startling them. "Thank god you're ok." Kellen runs over to Hiccup, hugging him.

"Um, where have you been?" Astrid ripped Kellen from Hiccup, pointing her finger at his chest. "I knew that Toothless was going to get caught, so when everyone was distracted, I ran back to the cove, to get Surge. My plan was to sneakily break Hiccup and Toothless out and then we all escape but seeing the Berk fleet sailing away and Hiccup here, I guess something else happened?"

"Dad knows about how we found the nest. So he's taking all of Berk and making Toothless lead them to it."

"Oh, that's bad. Like really bad."

"Yep."

"So, what are we going to do then?"

"We?"

"Yeah, We. I have been with you for every step of this journey, since day one. I have your back, no matter what. So I'll ask again, what are we going to do then?"

"Something crazy." Hiccup then runs away, leaving a confused Kellen.

"You already talked some sense into him, didn't you." Kellen looked at Astrid, who had a bit of a smug smile on her face.

"And what if I did."

"Thanks, you just did my job." Kellen walks over to Surge, climbing on his back. "Also, I'm starting to think you have feelings for him. After all, you would never do that for anyone else, not even Yang." Kellen teased Astrid, making the girl's cheek blush a little. Astrid wanted to yell at him, saying that she didn't, but he already flew away.

Now, in the dragon arena, all the other teens were walking to Hiccup and Kellen. "If you're planning on getting eaten, I'd definitely go with the Gronckle." Fishlegs stated, guessing what they were going to do.

Tuffnut ignored everyone and approached the cousins. "You were wise to seek help from the world's most deadly weapon. That's me."

"Uh…" Kellen and Hiccup looked at each other in confusion. But Snotlout pushes Tuffnut out of the way, getting even close to them. "I love this plan!"

"I didn't…" Hiccup tried to explain but now Ruffnut pushed Snotlout aside, getting even closer to them. "You're crazy! I like that…"

Now Astrid pulled Ruffnut away, giving the two some space. "So? What is the plan?"

Weiss however looked scared, since she was focused on Surge, who was laying down off to the side. "So are we all going to ignore the Skrill in the room?"

"Oh, Surge? You don't have to worry about him. He's harmless. He's like an overgrown dog or cat." Kellen explained, dismissing Weiss' concerns. Weiss doesn't fully believe him and shuffles away from the dragon, getting behind Fishlegs to use him as a meat shield just in case.

"The plan, well, is to save everyone from the Red Death." Hiccup stated.

"Sorry, the what?" Weiss asked, now forgetting about Surge.

"To make a long story short, the Red Death is controlling the dragons to get its food. But since they can't get enough on their own to feed it, they attack Berk to get more food. If they don't do it, the Red Death eats them instead." Kellen explained, walking over to one of the levers that releases the dragon cages. "But no one knows that, so we are going to train these dragons to fly over there, free Toothless, and kill the Red Death, saving everyone." The teens looked at him in shock, wondering how he could casually say that.

Kellen pulls a lever, releasing the Monstrous Nightmare. Hiccup meets it as it exits its cage, gently guiding it toward the teens, who stare in amazement. Snotlout, who is scared, grabs a broken off spear head but Astrid stops him. "Uh-uh." Hiccup continues to guide it, leading it to Snotlout. Snotlout backs away but Hiccup grabs, making him touch its snout. "Wait! What are you-?!" "Relax. It's okay... it's okay."

Once Snotlout had placed his hand on its snout, the dragon had started to purr, and lean towards him. Snotlout just laughs, feeling like a kid at snoggletog. Hiccup backs up, walking over to a crate. "Where are you going?!" Hiccup answers him by showing him rope. "You're going to need something to help you hold on."

The other teens then look over to see the other dragons out of their cages, all relaxed and calm thanks to Kellen and some dragon nip. "Nothing works as well as some good old dragon nip. Anyways, since Snotlout gets the Monstrous Nightmare, Ruff and Tuff, you two get the Zippleback." "All right." The twins then bash their heads at each other in excitement.

Rolling his eyes, Kellen continued giving out dragons. "Fishlegs, you get the Gronckle. Astrid, you get the Nadder. Yang, you get the Singetail. Weiss, you don't get a dragon."

"What?! Why not?" Weiss complained. She might be the most stuck up out of the group, but even she had to admit that she wanted a dragon of her own.

"Well there are no more dragons, plus none of the dragons here are good matches for you. I put the twins with the Zippleback since they are twins and the dragon had two heads. Yang got the Singetail since they can both be very aggressive and know how to use their whole body. Fishlegs got the Gronckle since he is more gentle and Gronckles aren't that aggressive compared to other dragons. And don't get me started on Astrid and the Nadder." Kellen explained to Weiss, while also helping the others get on their dragons. "Don't worry, you can ride with Snotlout. Should be plenty of room in the Nightmare."

Weiss looks at him, hoping he was joking. She looked over to Snotlout, who sent her a kiss and pated the spot behind him on the dragon's neck. "How come I have to be punished for nothing?"

At the Dragon Nest. The vikings are preparing for the fight of their lives, setting up the catapults and sharpening logs to put in the ground. Meanwhile, Stoick goes over the battle plan with his generals, which were Gobber, Raven, Spikelout, and unfortunately Qrow. "When we crack this mountain open, all hell is going to break loose." Stoick stated as he drew down in the ground. Gobber, though, threw in some of his charm to ease the situation. "And my undies. Good thing I brought extras."

"No matter how this ends, it ends today." Stoick gives the signal and the catapults fire one after another, until they break a hole into the side of the mountain. Stoick walks up to the mouth of the hole and gives another signal. This time, a flaming ball of straw gets catapulted into the hole, revealing thousands of dragons inside. Stoick gives a battle cry and charges in, along with Gobber, Raven, and Spikelout. But weirdly, not a single dragon attacks, instead they all fly away. Not even attacking all the vikings outside. Toothless looks on in dread, knowing very well what is about to happen next.

"Is that it?" Gobber asked Raven, who just shrugged in confusion. "We've done it!" Vikings begin to cheer in victory. But Stoick's face is full of confusion. Why didn't any of them fight back? That was almost too easy. He looks over to the boats, at Toothless, who was trying to break free out of fear. Stoick then remembers what Hiccup tried to warn him about. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake. And he realized that he should have listened to his son. "This isn't over. Form your ranks! Hold together!" A loud roar is heard and the mountain starts to crack from the pressure. "Get clear!" Stoick and everyone else run away, out of the cave. Soon, A giant dragon breaks through the mountain, about five times the size of the Vikings' ships. Vikings run in fear as it roars at them, making huge rocks fall down.

"Beard of Thor... what is that?" The Red Death, a queen of dragons. Stoick looked on with absolute terror, even Raven had a look of terror. "Odin, help us." The Red Death roars at them, preparing to attack. "Catapults! Fire the catapults!" Raven yells out, making the vikings fire their catapults, but the rocks bounce off the Red Death's skin like they were nothing. It then crushes the catapults as if they were made of matchsticks, wood flying everywhere.

"Get to the ships!" A viking shouted, thinking they could escape. But Stoick knew better. "No! NO!" But it's too late. The Red Death realizes where their going and breathes out the largest fire blast the vikings have ever seen. Destroying all the ships in one fell swoop and trapping them all on the island in the process. Toothless tries to escape, since he is still stuck on the now burning and sinking ship.

"Heh. Smart, that one." Gobber commented, rushing over to Stoick.

"I was a fool." He turns to Spitelout, giving him orders. "Lead the men to the far side of the island." Spitelout nods and starts to lead them. "Gobber, Raven, go with the men."

"I think I'll stay, just in case you're thinking of doing something crazy."

"I can buy them a few minutes if I give that thing someone to hunt." Stoick was about to rush out, but Gobber stopped him, grabbing his hand. "Then I can double that time." Raven then gives Stoick a reassuring squeeze on his arm. "How about we triple that time?" Stoick smiles at the two, and nods. They let go and charge to the Red Death. "HERE!"

"Oh, no, HERE!"

"Come and get us!" Stoick throws a sharp log at the dragon, making it pay attention to the three.

"Come on! Bite me!"

"No, me!" The Red Death stood up more, looking like it was about to fire again, but an explosion occurred on the top of its head, disorienting it. It roars in pain as out comes the teens, all flying on dragons. "Ruff, Tuff, watch your backs! Move, Fishlegs!" Stoick and Raven look at amazement as their kids were flying on dragons.

"LOOK AT US! WE'RE ON A DRAGON! WE'RE ON DRAGONS! ALL OF US!" Tuffnut yelled in excitement, but they were all flying unbalanced. The only balanced dragons were Surge, and the Nadder since Hiccup was flying it.

Vikings look up in amazement as well, watching as the teens circle back around. Gobber looked over at Stoick and Raven, looking at them in disbelief. "Every bit the boar-headed, stubborn Viking you two ever were!" Stoick and Raven just nod as they watch their kids do their thing.

The teens and dragons formed a circle, a quick meeting. "Fishlegs, break it down!" "Okay! Heavily armored skull and tail made for bashing and crushing! Steer clear of both! Small eyes, large nostrils! Relies on hearing and smell!" The Red Death picked up a boat and threw it to some rocks.

Kellen then piped in, giving battle commands. "Good to know! Snotlout, Weiss, Fishlegs, hang in its blind spot! Make some noise, keep it confused! Ruff, Tuff, Yang, find out if it has a shot limit! Make it mad! And I mean really mad."

"That's my specialty!" "Since when?! Everyone knows I'm more irritating! See?!" Tuffnut then turned upside down, making weird noises with his mouth.

"Yang, make sure they do their job. Astrid, Hiccup, you're with me. We are looking for Toothless, we need that dragon and Hiccup at one hundred percent if we want to win." Kellen then flew off with Hiccup and Astrid to the flaming boats, while the others flew to the Red Death. "Don't worry, we got it covered!" "Yeah!"

The dragons fly over the back of the Red Death, the twins and Yang continue to fly, flying in front of it, as Snotlout, Weiss, and Fishlegs stay back to make noise next to its head. "Troll!" "Butt-Elf!" "Bride of Grendel!" "I don't think that is going to— Never mind." The giant dragon shoots the twins and Yang, but misses them.

Meanwhile, Snotlout, Weiss, and Fishlegs were hitting their shields with maces or hammers. "Uh, this thing doesn't have a blind spot!" "Then make more noise." Weiss answered Fishlegs' concern.

With Hiccup, Astrid, and Kellen, they were flying over the ships as fast as they could, searching for Toothless. Until they heard him roar, "There!" The two dragons circled around, Astrid and Hiccup swap places and Hiccup jumps off and lands next to Toothless. "Go help the others!" Kellen and Astrid nod, heading back to the Red Death.

Back with the gang, the noise Snotlout, Weiss, and Fishlegs were making started to work, the giant dragon started to seem disoriented, shaking its head. "It's working!" "Yeah! It's working!"

Unfortunately, the three of them didn't notice that not only was it working on the Red Death, but also on their own dragons. Then Snotlout and Weiss crashed into the dragon, Snotlout landing on its head and Weiss somehow staying on the Nightmare. "Agghh!" Snotlout was about to fall off, but got his balance just in time. "I've lost power on the Gronckle! SNOTLOUT! DO SOMETHING!" Fishlegs throws his hammer to Snotlout, before crashing into the pebble beach, the Gronckle ending on top of him. "I'm okay! Less okay...!"

Now the Red Death was about to step on them, but Snotlout came to their rescue, by hitting it in its eyes. "I can't miss! What's wrong buddy? Got something in your eye?" The dragon roared in pain, just missing Fishlegs. Astrid and Kellen also saw this, "Yeah! You're the Viking!" Snotlout, briefly stopped what he was doing, to gaze at Astrid with love. The Red Death took Snotlout's distraction as an opportunity and threw Snotlout to the other side of its head, making him dangle off it. "Whoa!"

"Be honest. Do you do that to mess with him?" Kellen asked Astrid, both flying under the Red Death. "Yep. But could you blame me, It's Snotlout." Astrid put on a small smile, trying to defend her case. "Not really, dude has that coming for trying to get with my sister. Both of them." Surge and the Nadder fly up and fire at the Red Death's head, making it turn and crash its tail into the boats. Then, to make matters worse, it stepped on Hiccup and Toothless boat, causing it to sink.

"Oh, by Odin's name. That's just great." Kellen shouts in anger, as he watches as Hiccup goes after Toothless under water. But then sees Stoick diving after them. "Oh, never mind." Astrid looked at him as if he was crazy. "What?! At first it looked bad, but now it's fine."

Kellen and Astrid then flew away from the Red Death, giving them some distance to regroup. "So what now? Snotlout is still on it and Fishlegs is out of commission." Astrid asks Kellen, but before Kellen could answer they heard Toothless roar, turning their heads to watch him fly up. "He's up! Get Snotlout out of there!" Astrid shouted at the Twins.

"I'm on it!" Both twins said. But they looked at each other and started to argue again. "I'm on it first! I'm ahead of you!" "Hey! Let me drive!" The Zippleback flew to the Red Death's head while the twins argued. Snotlout jumped off the Red Death, landing on the body of the Zippleback. "I can't believe that worked!"

As everyone started to fly away again, the Red Death started to suck in air, catching Astrid in its trap. It started to suck in harder and harder, until it was about to eat them. But Toothless and Hiccup came in, dive bombing from above. "Night Fury! Get down!" Toothless blasts the Red Death in the face, making the Nadder escape but Astrid falls off.

Toothless quickly turns around, catching Astrid by her foot. "Did you get her?" Toothless turns his head upside down to look at Astrid, who was smiling with relief. Toothless then tosses her up slightly, adjusting her so she could walk. They quickly dropped Astrid off, not stopping, and headed back to the Red Death. "Go."

"That thing has wings! Okay, let's see if it can use them!" Toothless stops and turns around, using their speed to dive bomb. Delivering a powerful blast to the Red Death, making it fall over. It causes a smoke screen, and nearby vikings wave the smoke out of their faces. They all look up to see the Red Death spreading its wings out.

"Do you think that did it?" Hiccup looks back to see the Red Death flying after them. "Well, he can fly." Toothless quickly gains speed, heading into the maze of sea stacks. Toothless tries to lose the Red Death, weaving through the sea stacks, but the Red Death just plows through them. Toothless starts to fly even faster, flying in front of the vikings, who were all cheering for him. But they were silenced when the Red Death went through another sea stack, not losing any speed.

With the Red Death gaining on them, Hiccup looked around for anything they could use. Not seeing anything, Hiccup didn't notice the dragon was about to bite them. But out of nowhere, a lightning blast hits the Red Death, making it miss Hiccup and Toothless and slow down. Looking up, Hiccup sees Kellen and Surge flying above them. "What?! Did you really think we would let you do this alone?"

Hiccup smiles at him, glad to know that they have their backs. Then Hiccup sees how grey and black the clouds were, giving him an idea. "Okay, Toothless, time to disappear! Come on, bud! Kellen, fly up to the clouds!" Toothless starts to gain altitude, Surge following them.

But the Red Death was right on their heels still, trying to blast them out of the sky. Surge and Toothless dodge all of its attempts, and start to blend in with the clouds. The Red Death tries to bite at them but misses. Stopping, it looks around to find them, but can't see anything but the clouds. It growls in frustration, since it couldn't see them, but it could hear the noise of them flying so fast.

Out of nowhere, Toothless blasts the Red Death in the back, making it turn to where they were. But they were nowhere to be seen. Now Surge fires a Lightning blast, hitting it from behind on its wing, making it turn again but see nothing. Now Toothless fires from above, hitting its other wing. Over and over again, Toothless and Surge used their speed and agility to fire at it from all angles, each time sending flashes of light for the vikings to see their battle.

Now growing tired of this, the Red Death roars and sends its flames everywhere. The flames filled the clouds as it continued to spread it everywhere nonstop. The flames approached Surge and Toothless, faster than they expected, barely getting caught in the blast. Unfortunately, Toothless' tail got caught on fire, now giving Hiccup and Toothless a time limit. Meanwhile, Kellen blocked his body with his arms, burning them and sending him off Surge. "KELLEN!"

"Don't worry about me, finish the fight." Kellen yelled back, losing consciousness as he fell down, the pain being too much to bear. Surge catches his body with its legs, flying down to the vikings.

Hiccup looks back to see Toothless tail burning. "Okay, time's up! Let's see if this works." Toothless then starts to dive down, roaring at the Red Death to draw its attention. "COME ON! IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?!" The Red Death notices them and tries to bite them. Toothless dodges and flies straight down, the Red Death following right after them.

The Red Death roars at them, trying to bite them again. "Stay with me, buddy. We're good. Just a little bit longer." Hiccup reinsures Toothless, who is now gliding down. Or you should say, 'falling with style'.

The Red Death focuses, lining up its horn with Toothless to blast them. "Hold, Toothless…" The Red Death readies itself to fire, gas filling its open mouth. "NOW!" Toothless flips over and sends a plasma blast into the giant dragon's mouth. This causes the gas to light and sets fire to the inside of the Red Death.

The two dragons break the cloud barrier, seeing the ground. Surprised by this, the Red Death opens its wings, trying to slow down its descent. But due to its speed and the fire inside it, the wings start to burn holes in them. Toothless spreads his wings out and catches some air, going around the Red Death as it falls.

The Red Death crashes into the pebble beach, causing a huge explosion. Toothless and Hiccup fly through its spikes on its tail, barely ahead of the flames. Toothless' tail gives out, being burned to a crisp. Hiccup looks back at the tail, not noticing the hammer part of the Red Death until it was too late. "No! NO!" The two hit the tail, separating them and knocking out Hiccup. Toothless roars in panic as he flies down to Hiccup, hoping to protect him from the flames.

Minutes later, Stoick was looking for his son through all of the smoke and falling ash. "Hiccup! Hiccup! Son!" Stoick stops. Yards away from him was Toothless, laying still on the ground. "Hiccup." He runs over to Toothless, in hopes Hiccup was with him. But when he arrives, he sees Hiccup's saddle in ruin and the metal of Toothless tail all bent out of shape.

Stoick falls to his knees as sadness consumes him from the lack of Hiccup. "Oh, son... I did this…" The other vikings approach from a distance, seeing their chief kneel in grief. Raven, who was holding the burned and unconscious Kellen, approached her brother, putting a hand on his shoulder. Surge also stands next to Stoick, for not wanting to leave Kellen's side, but also to mourn for the loss of his friend. The other teens and Gobber make their way through the crowd, stopping when they see Toothless and Stoick. They all gasp at the loss of Hiccup, Yang even starts to silently cry for losing her cousin. The dragon's they were riding were also starring, for they were mourning the loss of the first person who treated them well.

As everyone started to mourn, Toothless started to stir awake, opening his eyes to see Stoick on the verge of tears, Raven holding Kellen, and Surge mourning. "I'm so...I'm so sorry…" Stoick apologized to Hiccup, but also to Toothless for how they treated them. Toothless senses the truth of his words, and unwraps his wings, revealing Hiccup mostly uninjured. "Hiccup!" Stoick rushes to him, grabbing him before throwing his helmet away, putting his ear on Hiccup's chest. He hears Hiccup slowly beating heart, showing that he was alive. "Oh, he's alive! You brought him back alive!"

Everyone heard this and started to celebrate. Everyone's sad moods were gone, replaced with relief and happiness. Even the dragons were celebrating, for they were happy the one that saved them all was alive. Stoick puts his hand on Toothless head, letting Toothless gently purr in it. "Thank you... for saving my son."

"Well, you know... most of him." Raven gestures to Hiccup's left foot. Stoick just gives his sister an angry look, before calming that, remembering that Kellen also fought and was injured. More injured than Hiccup since his entire forearm and parts of his upper arm were severely burned.

Days passed and both Kellen and Hiccup were still asleep. Raven sat at the edge of Kellen's bed, grabbing his hand for comfort. For the past few days, Raven hasn't once left her son's side, too worried for her son's safety. Surge, meanwhile, slept at the foot of Kellen's bed, also not wanting to leave Kellen's side either.

Soon, Kellen starts to stir, slowly waking up. He tries to get up, but Raven stops him. "Shhh. Don't argue. You need to lie down. You're still healing." Kellen fully opens his eyes to look at Raven, only to be surprised as she had a face that only a caring mother would have. "You're here?" Kellen ignores Raven's protests by still getting up, wincing in pain.

"Of course I'm here. I'm your mother. I love you and care for you. From when you were a baby to now, viking hero." Raven was now holding both of her sons hands in her hands, holding them tightly to prevent herself from crying. "I want you to know that I have always been proud of you, even when you thought I wasn't. And I have never been more proud to call you my son." Tears started to slowly fall from her face, moving herself to hug Kellen tightly, in a motherly show of affection.

"Do… Do you really mean that?" Kellen had to ask, since this was the first time Raven showed him proper motherly love. "Yes, yes I do." Hearing this, Kellen slowly hugs back and starts to cry as well.

After a while, the mother and son stopped crying and hugging each other. Kellen was now looking at his arms, which were covered in burns. It appeared red, blistered, and swollen, but seemed to be more red in places. "Gothi says that you have second and first degree burns. They will heal, but you will have burn scars. But it will only be on your forearms. Your upper arms only have first degree burns and are small." Raven explained to Kellen, who was looking at his arms.

"I'm sorry I couldn't do anything. If I was a better mom to you, you wouldn't—"

"Mother. It's ok. You had no idea what I was doing, and even if you did, what were you going to do? I will be fine, but I need to check on Hiccup." Kellen tries to get out of bed, but Raven stops him.

"Kellen. You should be resting and healing. Not moving around. Hiccup is ok, just missing a… a…" Raven struggled to finish her sentence. She knew how close Kellen and Hiccup were, and finding out that Hiccup lost a leg could destroy him.

"Mother. If you aren't going to tell me, I'm going to see him." Kellen forces his way out of bed, accidently stepping on Surge's tail, waking him up. "Sorry." Surge didn't mind though, he just nuzzled into Kellen, happy he was awake now.

"Kellen, if you are going, then at least let me apply some cream to your burns." Raven begged her son, not wanting him to further hurt himself. "You're not letting me go until I do, aren't you? Fine. But let me wrap some bandages around them, just to help." Raven nods. She sits down next to Kellen, and starts to apply the cream.

After she finishes applying it, she hands Kellen some of his Bandages. Kellen wraps his arms slowly, making sure he doesn't hurt himself. After he finishes with his arms, he does his legs, which goes by faster since they weren't injured. "Ok, I'm off." Kellen waved his mother goodbye at the door, heading to Hiccup's house.

As he walked with Surge, he saw so many dragon's all over the place. He saw vikings waving at him, smiling. Which was weird considering that Kellen and Hiccup used to be the outsider teens of the village.

Reaching Hiccup's house, he opens the door and sees Toothless starring down at Hiccup. Toothless looks over to the two of them, happy, he runs over to them. Kellen expected this and hugs Toothless, letting the dragon know he was ok. "Hey there Toothless, good to see you." Finishing hugging the dragon, he walks over to the sleeping Hiccup.

"Well this won't do." Looking around, Kellen sees a bucket of water with a rag, probably meant for washing Hiccup off. An idea crosses his mind as he smile's sinisterly. He grabs the bucket of water, throws the rag away, and dumps the water on Hiccup. Waking him up. "AAAAAA." Hiccup screams as he is suddenly woken by the water.

"Up and at'em Hiccup."

"What was that for?" Hiccup yelled at Kellen, but then paused, realizing it's Kellen. "Kellen you're ok!"

"Eh, more or less. So how are you feeling?" Kellen asked Hiccup, who was trying to get out of bed.

"I feel overall ok. But what is—" Before Hiccup finished, both teens noticed Hiccup's left leg. Or lack off. Instead, there was a fake one made of wood and metal in its place.

"Hiccup. You ok?" Kellen sat down next to him, Toothless and Surge looked and sniffed the fake leg with curiosity and sadness.

"I think… I think I will be ok. Just have to get used to it, you know." Hiccup takes a deep breath and tries to walk with the prosthetic. It hurts. He falls but Toothless catches him, letting Hiccup lean on him. "Okay... okay... Thanks, bud." Hiccup and Toothless slowly made their way to the door. Hiccup opens it but sees a dragon outside, closing it quickly. "Toothless, Surge, stay here."

With that, Hiccup opens the door and walks out with Kellen. Both see Snotlout riding the Monstrous Nightmare, trying to help others fly on dragons. "Come on, guys, get ready! Hold on tight! Here we go!"

" I knew it. I'm dead." Hiccup stated, not believing what he was seeing. He saw vikings and dragons, working side by side, in peace.

Stoick laughs at them, walking behind them and putting his hands on their shoulders. "No, but you gave it your best shot. So? What do you think?"

"Hey, look! It's Hiccup and Kellen!"

"How are you two doin' mate?"

"It's great to see you two up and about." Vikings notice the three, walking up to them to greet them, surrounding them. "Turns out all we needed was a little more of... this." Stoick gestures to both Kellen and Hiccup. "You just gestured to all of me." Stoick just nods and smiles.

Gobber then came out of nowhere, surprising both the teens. "Well, most of you." Gobber gestures to his metal leg. "That bit's my handiwork. With a little 'Hiccup Flair' thrown in. You think it'll do?"

"I might make a few tweaks." This caused everyone, especially Kellen, to laugh.

Then, Astrid came out of nowhere as well, punching Hiccup in the shoulder. "That's for scaring me." "What, is it always going to be this way? Cause…" Before he could finish, Astrid kissed him on the lips, shocking him. "...I could get used to it."

Gobber then hands Hiccup a new tail and saddle for Toothless. "Welcome home." Hiccup just smiles, feeling great. "Night Fury! Get down!" Someone shouted, getting tackled by not only Toothless, but also Surge.

Seconds later, Hiccup was testing Toothless' new tail, seeing if it worked perfectly. He looks over to Astrid, who was on the Nadder, then to Kellen, who was on Surge. "You ready?" Toothless growls in agreement.

"This... is Berk. It snows nine months of the year, and hails the other three." The three riders and dragons take off, flying through the village. "Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so." Flying over Yang, she joins them in the air on her Singetail. "The only upsides are the pets." They fly over wooden paths, past Fishlegs. "While other places have...ponies or parrots, we have... dragons!"

Author note:

Hello Science emperor here. Sorry it took so long to post it. I underestimated how long this chapter was going to be. I also have finals next week, so I have been studying these past two weeks since winter break. I hope you enjoyed the story so far. I am open to criticism, since I want to improve on my writing. Plus, I do not have a beta reader yet. So if you are a beta reader reading this, I hope you reach out to me.

Last thing, the next chapter will be the start of the shows, not snoggletog. I'm doing this because it doesn't make much sense why snoggletog is before the start of riders of berk. Think about it, in the gift of the Night Fury, it's winter and there is ice and snow everywhere. But in the show, it starts before winter, before there is any snow. So I plan on doing the snoggletog chapter later in the series, when it actually is winter. Also, if some of you have noticed, Weiss does not have her dragon yet. I did this on purpose since I have a dragon that I think fits her well. But it's not seen until much later in the Httyd verse. So I plan on making use of it earlier, so Weiss will have her dragon.

That's all for now, I hope you have a good first month in the quarter of the century.
