A/N: Again, I'm still not getting notifications, but that aside, I hope you enjoy this, the last installment of the saga of the Ghost of UA High. Happy Halloween!
Once again, another morning came, and this time, Aizawa had his most stern warning yet for Class 1-A:
"I am a reasonable man…or at least I've tried to be. However, I'm afraid I can't overlook this latest incident involving Jiro. I gave an explicit warning that if this happened again, then all of you would be expelled. It seems that one of you didn't listen, so now all of you must suffer the consequences. However, since I am in a generous mood today, I'm offering all of you one last chance to save yourselves from expulsion: if you have any information at all on who's committing this tomfoolery, then please speak up."
Only Deku raised his hand.
"Yes, Midoriya?"
"Um…Mr. Aizawa, I…I think I know who's doing this, but I…"
"Then tell me who the culprit is."
"You see…I'd rather not say in front of everybody, plus…it's a wild conjecture."
"No conjecture is too wild for me. Nevertheless, if you are uncomfortable saying so in front of the whole class, then I'll allow you to tell me after class."
"Thank you, Mr. Aizawa."
After class, Deku approached Aizawa.
"Well, let's have it, Midoriya."
"OK." Deku leaned in closer to Aizawa and whispered: "I think it's Aoyama."
"Why do you accuse him?"
"You see…when Ashido got scared in the girls' bathroom, I found a piece of cheese, and even prior to this, he'd used several pieces of cheese to lure me out of my dorm one night to talk to me."
"I see. I'll investigate the matter as soon as possible. Try not to do anything rash, OK?"
"Yes, Mr. Aizawa!"
In the library, Deku, Uraraka and Todoroki were once again discussing the case:
"I've HAD IT with that stupid ghost!" Uraraka banged her fists on the table. "Clowns? REALLY!? Whoever's doing this is a very sick person!"
Deku put a hand on Uraraka's shoulder. "I understand your frustration, Uraraka, but let's think about this rationally. We're already under threat of expulsion."
"Deku's right," said Todoroki. "I'm upset about this too, but at the same time, what use is it to throw a tantrum? Besides, I had another idea about what we saw last night."
"What?" said Deku and Uraraka.
"That mysterious phrase on Jiro's window…'nwolc ed loiv'…I've been giving it a lot of thought, and I decided to look at it backwards, which gave me this result: 'viol de clown'."
"What does it mean?" asked Uraraka.
"It's French, and you don't wanna know what it means."
Deku stroked his chin. "Actually, I'm curious about what it means. It can't be that bad…can it?"
"Believe me…it is."
"Tell me anyways."
"Yeah, I'm curious too!" said Uraraka.
"All right, if you insist…"
Deku and Uraraka leaned in closer to Todoroki, who whispered the English meaning of the phrase to them. Both of their faces contorted with disgust when they learned what it meant.
"OK, that was bad!" said Deku.
Uraraka covered her mouth. "I think I'm gonna throw up!"
Todoroki crossed her arms. "I warned you two."
"Hey, what's going on?" asked a familiar voice.
Deku, Uraraka and Todoroki turned to see who'd addressed them: none other than Tsu.
"Tsu!" exclaimed Deku.
"What are you doing here?" asked Todoroki.
"I wanna help you investigate the Ghost of UA High, ribbit."
Uraraka put her index finger up to her chin. "Are you sure about that? You didn't look too good yesterday."
Tsu clenched her fists. "Ochaco, I understand your concern, and you're my best friend, but I'm done being scared. I've come to understand that fear is only as powerful as you let it be, and I'm not gonna let some myth overpower me. I wanna step up and help my friends, because heroes never leave heroes behind!"
Todoroki pumped her fist. "Go Tsu! That's the spirit!"
Tsu took a seat at the table. "Wow Shoko, I didn't expect you to remember that I prefer to be called 'Tsu', ribbit."
"Personally, I'm surprised you called me 'Shoko'. But enough talk, let's get you informed on what we have so far."
"OK, Tsu, so…I have a really good idea of who's behind these malicious pranks," said Deku.
"Who?"
"This used to be conjecture, but after what Shoko told me, there's no doubt in my mind that Aoyama's behind this."
Tsu put her index finger up to her chin. "Why do you think it's him?"
"First of all, when I investigated the girls' bathroom after Ashido got spooked, I found a piece of cheese on the sink. Aoyama once lured me outside my dorm to talk to me by placing a bunch of pieces of cheese on my porch. Second of all, the phrase that was written on Jiro's window was in French, and who here besides Aoyama and Todoroki know French?"
"Wow, sounds like you've got this figured out. What do we do now?"
"I'll tell you what we do now…"
After the day's classes had concluded, Deku, Todoroki, Uraraka and Tsu spent some time constructing traps for Aoyama such as net traps, spikeless punji pits and the like. To prevent Aoyama from getting wise to their plan, Uraraka dispatched him on an errand to get some nonalcoholic champagne, ostensibly for an anniversary celebration for UA, and they told everyone but him about the traps' locations. It worked: by the time Aoyama got back, he was none the wiser. Now, it was just a matter of waiting. Problem was, it seemed like forever and a day went by and nobody triggered the traps. Deku, Todoroki, Uraraka and Tsu elected to go to bed anyways, figuring that Aoyama would fall for one of the traps sooner or later. Then, at one point, Deku awoke to a strange noise and had trouble going back to sleep, also because there was a breeze coming in.
"Why is it so drafty in here?"
Deku went to check the window, and he got a nasty surprise: standing there was none other than the alleged Ghost of UA High, resembling a stereotypical person with a sheet draped over them, only they were glowing.
"Izuku Midoriya…I am the Ghost of UA High! I have come to collect your soul as penance for my untimely death! Surrender to me, and I will make the process painless!"
Deku raised his fists. "You don't scare me! I know who you are! DETROIT SMASH!"
Deku attempted to knock the living daylights out of the ghost, but he jumped out of the way. Realizing that he might actually be dealing with a real live supernatural being, he fled his dorm and ran straight for Todoroki's, where he banged on the door.
"SHOKO! SHOKO!"
Todoroki opened the door and yawned. "Deku…why are you waking me up at this hour?"
"The Ghost of UA High…it's real, and it's coming to get me! We gotta get out of here!"
Hearing this sent a jolt through Todoroki's spine. "Right!"
Deku and Todoroki ran for Uraraka's dorm next, and they banged on the door.
"URARAKA!"
Again, Uraraka awoke, yawning:
"Deku…Todoroki…please let me go back to sleep."
"There's no time!" said Todoroki. "The Ghost of UA High is coming for us!"
"But I thought the ghost was a myth?"
"You are wrong…Ochaco Uraraka!"
The ghost let out an evil laugh, while Deku, Uraraka and Todoroki screamed and ran for their lives, bolting straight for Tsu's dorm.
"TSU! TSU!" cried Uraraka.
Again, Tsu awoke sleepily.
"Ochaco…Midoriya…Shoko…can't you go back to bed?"
"We can't!" said Uraraka. "The Ghost of UA High is gonna get us!"
"Uraraka, we already established that it's just Aoyama. Please let me go back to bed, ribbit."
"You'll be sleeping FOREVER!" said the ghost.
The four amigos screamed, but rather than bolting out the front door, where the ghost would most likely catch them, they headed out Tsu's window, using their Quirks to hit the ground without injury. They then ran as if they were running towards Iron Maiden's hills, zigging and zagging about the grounds of UA in a mad attempt to lose the ghost. Then, Todoroki had an idea:
"Follow me! We'll take my car!"
The four ghost hunters bolted for the student parking lot, where Todoroki's Oldsmobile was located. They hopped in the car, Todoroki taking the driver's seat and Deku riding shotgun.
"I think we've lost him." Todoroki started the car.
"Todoroki…why is there a blanket in your back seat?" asked Uraraka.
"BUCKLE UP, BITCH!"
Everyone screamed when they realized that the blanket was really the ghost, so in one swift motion, Todoroki shut off the engine and tore the keys out of the ignition, joining her fellow ghost hunters in getting as far away from that mad phantom as possible.
"Girls, I have an idea!" said Deku. "It's a long shot, but it has to work!"
"OK, I believe you!" said Todoroki.
"Let's hope this works!" said Uraraka.
"Ribbit!" said Tsu.
Having memorized the locations of the traps, Deku led his other three friends back to the dorms, where the rest of Class 1-A, having been awakened by the clamor, came out to observe. Deku, Todoroki, Uraraka and Tsu got themselves in position and waited. Deku silently prayed for the trap to work. It had to, otherwise him and his friends could kiss their student careers goodbye. Much to his good fortune, the ghost stepped into one of the net traps and got dragged up into a tree.
"SACRE BLEU!" exclaimed the ghost.
With the ghost captured, Uraraka floated up, broke the net loose and carried the ghost down.
"It's time we solved this mystery once and for all!"
Deku pulled the sheet off of the "ghost", thus confirming his hypothesis:
"I knew it was you, Aoyama!"
Yuga Aoyama frowned. "And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you fouineurs!"
Todoroki clenched her fists. "Well now you can get away with THIS!"
Todoroki unleashed a seismic uppercut against Aoyama, sending him hurtling a few meters through the air before he crashed to the ground with a dull thud.
« Tu vas avoir l'air assez drôle en essayant de manger du coq au vin avec une mâchoire cassée », said Todoroki.
Kacchan crossed his arms. "Todoroki, I'm glad we solved the mystery, but every time ya speak French, I wanna jack off."
Todoroki scratched her head. "I don't get it. What do foreign languages have to do with masturbation?"
"NEVER MIND! I'll just go to the bathroom…"
Kacchan stomped off. Meanwhile, Aizawa, All Might and a bunch of other faculty members came to investigate the hubbub.
"Midoriya, what's all the noise, and why are all of you awake at this hour?" asked Aizawa.
"Mr. Aizawa, we caught the 'ghost'; it was really Aoyama wearing a cheap disguise."
"Congratulations, Midoriya. Now go back to sleep; we'll handle this from here."
Aizawa turned towards the direction where Aoyama was laying and headed over for him. However, Deku reached out for him:
"MR. AIZAWA, WATCH OUT!"
Unfortunately for Aizawa, he was too late; he got ensnared in a net trap.
"MIDORIYA!"
Deku blushed and sweated nervously. Sometimes, he wished that he could just have an average day at UA, and this was another one of those times.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
