I originally wanted to make this a dead fic, but upon learning people actually liked this fic, not to mention the reader Hellman76 put this in their favorites which included fanfics such as Hunters Of Justice, I decided to continue on writing. So thanks to all of the people who for some reason like this. I hope you enjoy it.
"By the Allspark…get them out of there now!"" shouted the rookie medic First Aid as he directed the rest of his team of Rescue Bots to the building.
it was supposed to be the annual Primal Procession, the ceremony was meant to be hosted by Sentinel Prime to allow members of the government to supposedly ascended to become a new "Prime", how exactly that worked considering in all of the history books that in order to become a Prime you needed the Matrix to ascend them, plus becoming a Prime actually reformatted their bodies, but First Aid wasn't alright during the Golden Age so he had to trust Sentinel knew what was he doing, even if it was Nominus Major of all Bots who would become a new Prime, so First Aid expected that he would be avoiding social media for the inevitable controversy that ensue, what First Aid didn't expect was that a terrorist attack would happen before Sentinel would arrive and the entire building blowing up.
He and his group of Rescue Bots arrived to find an hundred other Rescue Bots arrived as well and already had been forced to carry wounded bystanders, attending civilizations, and worse, dead bodies. He didn't feel comfortable giving orders, but Hot Spot had been forced to go along with another firebot Rescue Bot named Inferno to quell the flames in order to allow them to get inside the building and rescue anybody still inside the building, he felt like this was the beginning of even worse days coming.
As First Aid lamented, putting his hand on his faceplate in both horror and exhaustion, somebody's vehicle mode drove behind First Aid's back, as First Aid turned around, the Bot's vehicle mode transformed into his robot mode, and First Aid's optics widened at who it was.
"Any survivors" Orion Pax spoke with his famous deep voice that was filled with compassion and concern for every Bot.
"Um, several, we're getting them to any hospitals we can reach as fast as we can. We're still looking for other survivors in the building, but as you can tell…it's difficult." First Aid said evenly, just because Orion Pax had a huge reputation, didn't mean he was going not act like a normal Bot, especially when Orion was treating him as an equal. First Aid felt some of his will dissolve once he saw Orion's eyebrows furrowing, and even with that faceplate, he could practically see his frown.
"Do you have any idea on who did this?" Orion inquired, his voice still gentle which made First Aid regain some of his composure.
"Erm, no, me and my team watched the report on the news, we weren't there during the start of the bombing. We didn't see the suspect." First Aid replied, Orion put a hand on his chin.
"Hmm…when did you arrive after the bombing?" Orion inquired.
"A few minutes after it happened, it surprised me when I saw that many emergency responders were here giving the short period of time when my team arrived." First Aid informed Orion to which he nodded in gratitude.
"If he escaped that fact, then he probably had an alternate mode, so this isn't the work of Triple M. I'm gonna try to investigate possible candidates on who did this on my own. You keep looking for survivors." Orion turned away and transformed back into vehicle mode.
"Can't I help you out more? I'm not a fighter, but I feel like this is way bigger than even you, you might need some assistance." First Aid asked Orion whose wheels simply started to rev up.
"Don't worry, I got my own friends." Orion drove away from First Aid, who turned back to the burning, smoldering, building. This was going to suck.
"Hmm…no, Motormaster's operations are too simple too ever do something like this, so that's a no, Deathsaurus…hrm maybe, he has the resources, the ambition, and the skill, but there's no way that he'd risk one of his soldiers bombing such an important place like the Primal Procession and potentially getting captured and there's no way that one of his soldiers would start an operation without informing Deathsaurus all of his soldiers are too loyal, so I should move that to potentially…hrm…" Orion kept looking through the datapad's list of various criminals, he's been trying to match the potential criminal organizations that could possibly want this to happen, so far nobody seemed to match the m.o, maybe he should've called a day off…
"Overworked huh? Wouldn't blame you, something tells me things are gonna get a lot worse." Orion's optics shot to the Bot who said that, Kroma, one of the Senate's most infamous lackeys. He didn't like him at all, personality wise or morally, but he had to be polite in this case.
Orion was about to open his mouth…until Kroma spoke up, pointing to his trophy cabinet.
"Ohh, I like what you've done with the room, very efficient, not too much stuff, not too much waste of space, ect ect, and that trophy cabinet…very nice. Your predecessor, he hunted organics, no not just organics, primitives, he particularly liked stuffing Nebulans on the wall, pre-Hive era I mean, what was his name again? Lockdown. Yeah. He hunted organics, he wrote a lot about how he did it." Kroma said, his voice oozing with false friendliness and smug arrogance compounded with a smug smile. Orion resisted the urge of punching him in the face.
"Can I help you?" Orion asked politely.
"Yeah…you can, Orion Pax." Kroma held out a picture of him on a datapad.
"You can call me Officer, maybe you can tell me why you're here." Orion crossed his arms.
"Yeah…you see, we're here on the behalf of several of ours friends, first, our pal Whirl. We heard he works here." Kroma changed the picture on the datapad to Bot with one eye that was his face's only feature and with claws for hands. Ah him.
"He worked here. He's now in custody." Orion said to which Kroma tsked, and put his hands on hips.
"Yeah, we heard of some misunderstanding with a miner named B-1727." Kroma said.
"B-127. He's a courier. And by misunderstanding, you mean attempting to rip out his voice box. He attacked a civilian. I arrested him. Not exactly a proper definition of a misunderstanding in the dictionary, don't you agree?" Orion passive aggressively said to Kroma who still maintained that smug smile.
"Nonetheless, we'd like to see him." Kroma said.
"I don't think that's in anybody's best interests." Orion said, Kroma frowned.
"You're right of course. It's terrible business. Beating up a civilian, can't have that can we?" Kroma said.
"I'm glad we can see eye to eye." Orion said.
"But I think you've made your point, he's probably learned his lesson now. I think it's time we all moved on." Kroma said.
"I'll tell you what I think. I think it's time you left." Orion emphasized the last part, Kroma growled a little.
"Well, I'm also here because of something you did to two cadets named-" Kroma was interrupted by Orion standing directly to his face.
"Darkwing and Dreadwind abused their power to humiliate a civilian for something as petty as a cup of Energon, don't you think that's more of an insult to the Senate's reputation, wasting their time bullying a random civilian?" Orion reasoned with Kroma who groaned.
"Hrm, guess you're right, still, those two are very upstanding cadets, it would be waste to just let them go, and going back to Whirl…he's a popular bot, he makes friend from all the way to the top. The very top even. " Kroma said to Orion who stood firm.
"I don't care if he was friends with Senator Proteus himself, he broke the law, the law he was supposed to uphold, now can you leave now? I have work to do. " Orion moved away from Kroma and went back to his desk and began reading through the datapad.
Kroma snarled.
"You really live up to your reputation…shame." Kroma and his goons left the building.
"Urgh…this is not gonna get better is it." Orion put his head on his forehead.
