Chapter 4 : the voice of elders

gon and panboo first meeting
and
a hint to panboo's future abilities

Chapter 4 part 1 : the voice He clutched his temples, letting out a muffled whimper. The pain wasn't just physical—it was something else entirely. A voice, commanding and urgent, echoed in his mind, bypassing language to strike directly at his instincts. Run. The word was undeniable, resonating deep within him. Without hesitation, Panboo obeyed. He stumbled at first, his movements clumsy and awkward, but he soon found his rhythm. His legs carried him toward the light spilling into the cave, and within moments, he was outside, bathed in moonlight. The forest loomed ahead, its shadows deep and foreboding. But the voice didn't waver. Run. Panboo dashed into the woods, weaving through the towering trees. The cool night air was bracing against his damp fur, and the rustle of leaves and the chirping of insects filled his ears. His mind was blank, save for the voice guiding him. The trees grew denser, and the terrain rougher, but he didn't stop. He ran toward a destination he couldn't understand but felt compelled to reach. The voice was his compass, and it led him deeper into the forest, closer to an ominous presence that grew stronger with every step…
Chapter 4 part 2 :panboo's intervention with gon's vow Finally, he emerged into a clearing. The sight before him was one of devastation. The air was heavy with the scent of blood and destruction. Near the center of the clearing lay two figures. One, an adult Gon, his body radiating a terrifying aura of power, sat in stillness, his expression blank. The other, Neferpitou, the fallen Chimera Ant Royal Guard, lay crumpled against a tree, her body lifeless but still emanating traces of post-mortem Nen. Panboo hesitated, trembling as he took in the scene. Gon didn't seem to notice him—or didn't care. The boy's gaze was fixed on nothing, his expression carved in stone. The voice returned, sharp and commanding. Go to him. Panboo's legs moved on their own, carrying him closer to Gon. His heart pounded in his chest, but he couldn't stop. He reached Gon, and without knowing how or why, he extended his clawed hands toward him. Fix it. The words were more instinct than command, but Panboo understood. His claws began to glow faintly, a shimmering light enveloping them. He placed his hands on Gon, and the energy flowed into the boy's body. Unbeknownst to Panboo, he had intervened in Gon's devastating Nen vow. Where Gon should have lost all Nen and his physical form, turning to dust, Panboo altered the condition. Gon's body would now remain intact, suspended in a mummified, coma-like state. The task complete, Panboo stumbled back, unaware of what he had done or the weight of his actions. But the clearing wasn't still for long. With a guttural growl, Neferpitou's body stirred. Her eyes opened, glowing with the fierce, menacing light of her post-mortem Nen. The Royal Guard rose, her movements unnatural, driven purely by vengeance. She lunged at Gon, her claws cutting through the air with deadly precision. Instinctively, Gon reacted. With a roar, he unleashed his Jajanken, the devastating force of his Nen colliding with Pitou's attack. The impact was catastrophic. A shockwave tore through the clearing, sending debris flying. Panboo, caught in the blast, was thrown high into the air. He spun uncontrollably, his small form helpless against the force. He crashed into the upper branches of a tree, the impact dazing him. His vision blurred as he fell, tumbling down through the branches before finally hitting the ground with a sickening thud. Pain shot through his body, but he was too disoriented to cry out. The world spun around him as darkness crept into the edges of his vision. His body, battered and bruised, was carried away by a nearby river, its current pulling him further and further from the clearing. As the water carried him away, Panboo's consciousness faded. The voice that had guided him was silent, leaving him alone in the cold, flowing river, drifting toward an unknown fate.
