Hi, everyone! Welcome to Book II of the Mizuki series. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.

Let's start with the story, shall we?*

Chapter 10

She was terrified.

She could feel the unbreakable grip that fear had on her entire body. She couldn't move a muscle and her Quirk didn't want to work. No matter how much she tried to force it out, nothing worked. There weren't even any sparks.

Eijiro was behind her, in pain as he writhed from the sensations that took hold of him and she needed to protect him. She couldn't let him get hurt. There had to be something. There had to be a solution to this problem.

She had to be limitless, damn it!

The rumbling of a wave of collapsed debris reached her ears and she looked forward. She could see the metal and cement that mixed together as it moved towards them. If she didn't stop it, then Eijiro would be in trouble.

She had to stop this wave and she had to stop it now. She was not going to let this stop her.

She held out her arm, taking a stance as she curled her finger into the pin of the gauntlet. She pulled it out, expecting the enormous explosion's shockwave to push into her shoulder. She was prepared for the force of the explosion, as long as It destroyed the wave.

Crimson orbs widened, colour draining from her face when the gauntlet didn't work. Nothing came out. There was no explosion, no spark, nothing. It wasn't possible. She was sure that she stored up enough sweat to release a large-scale explosion.

"Mizuki… Run…!"

Mizuki heard Eijiro's voice and gritted her teeth. Run? Like hell she was going to run! She was here to protect and she would do so even if it meant facing a wave of concrete and metal chunks. She didn't fear anything!

She pulled out her other hand and pulled the pin out of the opposite gauntlet. She made sure to store up inside it as well but didn't know how large the explosion would be. Right now, that was all she had left.

Nothing happened.

She looked in horror at the gauntlet and then at what was approaching. She held out her hand palms and tried to make explosions but nothing happened.

"Come on! Come on! Secrete! Explode!" Mizuki yelled out in frustration and the more she tried, the colder her body became. "Stupid body! Listen to me! I said explode!" Even with her arguing against herself didn't change anything.

The only response she received was a sudden pulse that came from deep within her. She fell onto her knees, hands clutching her chest. Everything spun around her as the pulse grew stronger, her breathing coming out choked.

"M-Mizuki…"

She turned towards the redhead, his pain increasing with every pulse that went through her body. What was going on? No, stop it. He was hurting. Stop. He was suffering. She didn't want to see him in pain.

She watched as he pushed through it all and managed to get his hand moving towards her. Crimson orbs widened and the pulsing increased tenfold. She watched as he swallowed back a cry and still reached out towards her.

"It's okay…"

"N-No… Stop it… Please! Stop hurting him!" Mizuki cried, tears starting to brim in her eyes as she looked at Eijiro. She could feel a strange sensation take a hold of her body as something grew stronger within her and she knew that whatever was inside her, was hurting him.

Eijiro gave her an assuring grin, his facial expression brightening. It was as if everything faded around her, the power still climbing from within her. His hand shook as it was kept outstretched towards her, the hand not wavering.

"It's okay. I accept all of you," he said and the tears fell from Mizuki's eyes. "It's you, after all, right?" Her lips trembled and she pulled away, trying to stop the growth inside her. She gritted her teeth, her body quivering.

"No! I won't hurt you! Stay away! I refuse to hurt you!" Mizuki shouted towards him, the male's expression softening. "Don't look at me like that! I'm hurting you! Stay away from me!" The pulse exploded from her body and she let out a gasp.

She fell onto her knees, eyes wide as the scenery changed. Her entire body became numb, the hand that was held out towards her hanging lifelessly in front of her. Small droplets of blood fell from the crimson-coloured limb that stuck out from underneath the concrete.

"N-No… R-Red…?" Her voice sounded small, breaking as more tears fell down the side of her face. He was supposed to harden. He was supposed to use his Quirk. Why didn't he? Why didn't he stop himself from getting injured?

Because of her.

Mizuki stared at the hand, her entire body becoming cold as all energy inside her vanished. Her entire body trembled as she started to sob. She did this. She injured him. She…She killed him… She was the cause of this. She was the murderer.

"NO!"

Mizuki shot up, a flurry of explosion erupting from her body and catching those around her off guard. She breathed heavy, her head in a haze and her heart beating in loudly in her ears as it drowned out the sound of everything around her.

Beads of sweat cascaded down the side of her face and her body trembled. It was cold. She felt cold to the core. She could feel the emptiness that filled her chest and tears involuntarily fell from her eyes as the nightmare haunted her memories.

"Mizuki, hey, it's alright. You're safe," a soft and gentle male voice spoke from her side. She watched as a familiar hand reached out and intertwined itself with her cold one. She stared at the hand, her stomach turning at the memory of the blood.

"Hey, look at me," the voice called out towards her and Mizuki found herself looking to her side. Eijiro smiled warmly at her and rubbed his thumb over the top of her hand in a soothing motion, the warmth spreading.

"That's it. I'm right here."

Mizuki couldn't believe it. Was it a trick that her mind was playing on her? Everything felt so real! She could've sworn that he was…that she…that her… She couldn't finish the thought as panic rocketed through her body.

"Did you have a bad dream?" Eijiro asked as he wiped away the tears that stained the ash blonde female's face. He hated to see her cry.

"Red… You're…" Mizuki rasped out and then turned pale as her hand flew to her mouth. Eijiro grabbed the bowl next to the bed and handed it towards her. He was just in time before the girl emptied the contents of her stomach.

He rubbed her back soothingly as she coughed, tears threatening to fall from her eyes as her entire body rocketed with vertigo. The feeling as indescribable and she couldn't stop the nausea even with her willpower.

Eijiro wasn't acting too surprised from what happened, Recovery Girl already told him that Mizuki would wake up to this state. She didn't give him any reason behind it though and it was very concerning.

He reached for a cloth that was soaked in water and rinsed it out. He then handed it towards Mizuki. She wanted to take it, but her hands were trembling too much from the force that overcame her body.

Eijiro took the initiative and gently wiped her face, the coolness bringing an immediate relieving effect on her nausea. He rubbed her back once again and she let out another cough. She felt completely drained.

"S-Sorry you had to see that."

"Don't apologize. I've seen much worse before anyway. Are you feeling better now?" He asked and Mizuki weakly nodded.

"Y-Yeah, just tired. What happened?" Mizuki asked as she took in her surroundings. She was in the infirmary, a place that she was starting to make her number two home. It was starting to frustrate her.

"You passed out after stopping the rubble with your gauntlets. I managed to get us out of the rubble and got us through the escape gate before the time was up," Eijiro said and Mizuki's eyes widened, images flashing before her eyes.

It was a nightmare. It wasn't real. He was alive. He was safe. The relief was enough to make tears sting her eyes once more.

"Huh? Are you alright?!"

Mizuki let out a light snicker and nodded. "I'm perfect, Red. Thanks for everything," Mizuki said and he laughed. The sound was music to her ears and it fed her body with a tinge of energy.

"What was all the commotion about?" Recovery Girl stepped inside the infirmary, blinking when she saw Mizuki sit upright and Eijiro by her side. She took in everything around them and made her own conclusion with what happened.

"I'm glad to see that you're awake, Mizuki, you had us worried there for a while. How are you feeling?" Recovery Girl asked her as she walked over towards the ash blonde. She caught sight of Eijiro's hand in her own and smiled softly.

"I feel okay. My body's a bit tired and the dizziness is there but other than that, I'll alive," Mizuki told the older female and she nodded. Mizuki's complexion was pale and the slight bags underneath her eyes showed her exhaustion. Yet, the crimson orbs were shining as usual.

"How long was I out?"

"Not long. The eight-match ended right before you woke up," Eijiro told the ash blonde teenager and she blinked. It felt much longer. The nightmare felt like it had dragged on eternally without ever ending.

"Then that means there are still two matches?" Mizuki asked and Eijiro nodded, his eyes widening when she tried to push herself off the bed, her hand slipping from his. "I have to go and get to the monitor room before my brother and Izu-kun's match!"

"Hold it right there, Mizuki," Recovery Girl stopped the girl from moving any further, her cane pointing at her face. Mizuki swallowed thickly at the female's sudden strict tone.

"But my brother-""Bakugou can wait. Right now, I'm prioritizing your wellbeing over everything else," Recovery Girl said and Mizuki frowned deeply.

"I agree with Recovery Girl," Eijiro said, Mizuki surprised to find him agreeing. "Bakugou can handle himself. You're the one who needs to look out for yourself and make sure that you're okay." Mizuki picked up on the tone of anger from the redhead and raised an eyebrow.

Eijiro was angry at…Katsuki? Why? This was a strange turn of events. Eijiro was seldom and almost never angry at anyone, especially her brother. Katsuki threw everything at him and he always blew passed it all. What on earth did her brother do to anger him?

The redhead let out a breath to calm himself. He was irritated with the ash blonde male. They tried to get a hold of him ever since the end of the match but he went off on his own. He hadn't even cared to watch his sister's match and he wasn't here when she needed him.

Yet, Mizuki was prepared to run off to watch his match.

The door of the infirmary slid open, everyone turning to see the white furred principal smiling brightly. "Yes! Am I a mouse? A dog? A bear? My real identity is…the principal!" He exclaimed happily, his one paw in the air and easily broke through the tension in the room.

"I'm glad that you're well and awake, Mizuki-san," Principal Nezu spoke as he walked over towards the confused girl. Why was the principal here? Did she do something wrong? Was it because of the match?

"Would you be alright to take a walk with me? Kirishima-san, you can come along," Principal Nezu said, walking gracefully with his arms crossed behind his back. Eijiro and Mizuki gave each other a glance and then looked back at Nezu.

"Um, what is this about, exactly?"

"I'll tell you as soon as we get there. Don't worry, neither of you are in trouble at all!" He replied and Mizuki frowned. She highly doubted it that they weren't in trouble since the principal wanted to speak to them personally.

Mizuki watched as he walked off and sweat dropped. He didn't care how this situation was looking at all, did he? She let out a breath and slowly stepped off the bed, Eijiro eyeing her with a small and assuring smile.

"Can you walk?" He asked and instead of lashing out at him, Mizuki nodded with a smirk. Recovery Girl let out a breath and went to sit down at her desk. She left the pair to exit the infirmary as they followed the principal and frowned.

It's about time, huh?

"Do you have any idea why he wants to speak to us, Red?" Mizuki asked the redhead as he walked next to her, the principal not too far ahead. He blinked and then laughed lightly, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.

"No idea! I'm as unsure as you are. I'm guessing it's because of our match against him?" Eijiro thought aloud and Mizuki's brows knitted together. He saw her face fall and averted his eyes to the ground with a sad smile.

"Here we go!" Principal Nezu stopped in his tracks and turned around, gesturing for them to enter the room. The teacher's break room. Mizuki raised an eyebrow. He wanted to talk to them inside and privately, only making her worry more.

Mizuki stepped inside the lounge, nothing new to her. She had been inside it before, the décor calming and the tea brewing on the small wooden table between the two couches. The atmosphere was much more calming than she expected it to be.

Eijiro looked around, eyes filled with wonder and mouth slightly agape. It was his first time inside the teacher's break room and he felt completely out of place. His muscles were tense as he thought about the possible reasons they were called here and swallowed thickly.

"You can sit down. I'll pour us some tea," the principal gently spoke as he climbed onto the couch with all fours. He went to sit down, the two students doing the same. They were forced to watch the male pour the tea inside the cups prepared.

Mizuki's brows twitched as she watched the male hum softly as he continued to pour the tea. He called them all the way here but he wasn't talking to them at all. Could it be possible for anyone to be this long winded?

"Here you go." Nezu handed the tea towards the two teenagers, Eijiro quick to grab them and handed one to Mizuki. She gave him a look and he put it down on the table after interpreting the gaze.

"Can you please tell us why we're here, Principal Nezu?" Mizuki asked, uncomfortable in her seat and wanting to go and watch the last matches. She felt restless when she thought about her brother but even more so when she thought about her own match.

Nezu took a painfully long sip and then put down his cup of tea. "No need to be hasty, Mizuki-san, we'll get there in time. For now, I want to inform you that you two fought well in your match, Unfortunately, both of you failed the practical exam," he said.

Mizuki's eyes widened in shock and horror. Her body went rigid at his words while Eijiro briefly closed his eyes, his grip tightening on his cup of tea. The frustration was evident on his expression and even more so that his thoughts were correct.

"W-What? W-Wait a minute! Wait a damn minute! We failed?! Why?!" Mizuki jumped up, briefly regretting it when the disorientation hit but her ager giving her enough strength to keep her rage alive.

"We made it through the escape gate in time, didn't we? We managed to get passed your annoying chain reactions and kept damage to the minimum! Even if I failed, why the hell did Red fail?!" Mizuki pointed at the redhead and his eyes widened.

If they failed then that meant that they couldn't go to the training camp. The thought of having Eijiro miss the opportunity because of her made her blood boil. She would rather stay than have him pay the price for her not being strong enough.

"He had to drag my ass towards the escape gate and had to go through it all even with his injuries! He prioritized safety over fighting the enemy! At least let him pass!" Mizuki shouted and Eijiro was left speechless.

"Mizuki, calm down." MIzuki's anger burst was quickly interrupted when Aizawa stepped inside the room, crimson orbs widening. What was he doing here? She looked at the principal who merely drank his tea, completely unfazed.

"You failed because the exam was stopped before you two crossed the escape gate," Aizawa said and had a silent gasp escape their lips. Wait, what? Mizuki couldn't find the words to counter, Eijiro quick to jump in.

"What do you mean by that, Sensei? The buzzer never went off beforehand," Eijiro pointed out, not liking where this was going. Aizawa and the principal was here to talk to them? What was going on?

"Well? Are you going to say something?" Mizuki asked the silent teacher, her temper briefly flaring and the male's brows furrowing. "Is there a reason why Aizawa Sensei is also here? Is no one going to say anything?"

"Mizuki, sit down." Mizuki was about to retort but the flashing red eyes had her shut her mouth. She gritted her teeth and sat down, her fists clenched tightly. She glared angrily at the tea in front of her, briefly wishing she could blow it up.

Aizawa let out a breath and crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall. "The reason the exam was stopped was because the you two were in danger," Aizawa said and Mizuki gave him a blank look.

"Huh? What type of excuse is that?! It's not our fault that we were almost constantly buried beneath rubble!" Mizuki pointed out, rebelling against everything that was thrown her way and it made a vein pulse out of the homeroom teacher's skin.

"I'm not finished. If you keep interrupting me then I'll expel you for a week," he threatened and Mizuki bit her bottom lip. Eijiro paled at the threat and gave Mizuki a sympathetic glance before looking back at Aizawa.

"You were in danger because of an unforeseen external factor, one that Mizuki is the cause of," Aizawa said and their eyes widened. They watched as his gaze intensified and found a shiver running down their spines.

"What do you mean, Aizawa Sensei?"

"Kirishima-kun, what do you remember happening to your Quirk during the match?" Aizawa asked and Eijiro blinked in surprise. He looked down at his hands as he recalled his inability of not being able to use his Quirk.

"It didn't work no matter how many times I tried to activate it. The more I tried the less I could move and before I knew it, I couldn't move at all but isn't that the principal's Quirk?" Eijiro asked and Nezu smiled softly.

"Unfortunately, not, Kirishima-san. My Quirk is High-specs, it enables me with much more knowledge than humans," Nezu said and Eijiro's brows furrowed. He didn't understand. If it wasn't his Quirk, then what happened?

"I-I don't get it…"

Aizawa let out a breath and looked at Mizuki who had a facial expression that showed a mixture of disbelief and agitation. Nezu saw the struggle of the teacher and put down his cup of tea as soon as it was finished.

"Mizuki-san, do you remember the day the villains attacked at USJ?" He asked and Mizuki looked at him, nodding. "Do you remember what happened the moment the Nomu wanted to give his final blow?"

"Yes, Aizawa Sensei disabled his Quirk and was able to stop it from attacking in that instant…but what does USJ have anything to do with the practical exam and Red's Quirk not working?" Mizuki asked, her thoughts not comprehending because of one missing piece.

"That day at USJ, something extraordinary happened to you, Mizuki-san. Aizawa-san was never able to erase any of the creature's Quirks, hence why he sustained injuries. The one who stopped the Nomu that day, was you," Nezu said and Mizuki's eyes widened along with Eijiro's.

What?

"Huh? Mizuki stopped it? But she was beat up badly and when we got there it couldn't move! Did she beat it up that badly?" Eijiro asked, trying to make sense of the information while Mizuki's body started to become cold from her finger tips.

"Nope, it was because of another talent that awakened." Eijiro stared at the principal in disbelief. "This talent showed itself on a few occasions at the sports festival too. Shinso-san's Quirk couldn't work against her and in her match against Bakugou-san, her own Quirk was affected," Nezu continued.

"Recovery Girl initially diagnosed her with post-concussion syndrome and only recently, when her symptoms intensified, identified it as Quirk Awakening," Nezu informed them, his smile never leaving his lips.

"Wait, what? Mizuki has another Quirk?" Eijiro asked, gaping at the ash blonde who was painfully silent next to him. "How-Why-She… Wait, you're saying that what happened at the practical exam was because…"

Nezu nodded. "Yes, Mizuki-san's Quirk unconsciously activated during the practical exam. We were uncertain what the impact would be on herself and you so we had to cancel the match immediately," he informed the redhead.

"This doesn't mean that you won't be able to attend the training camp. On the contrary, you're still going. The only catch is that you'll have to take supplementary classes with your homeroom teacher," Nezu added.

Eijiro was stunned at the overwhelming information he received. Mizuki had another Quirk. It felt completely unrealistic. This was just another nightmare. She was going to wake up in Recovery Girl's infirmary and then Recovery Girl was going to tell her how reckless she was, her brother was going to give her a piece of her mind and then Eijiro…Eijiro would…

She looked at her hands, finding them trembling and breathing seemed to be incredibly difficult. She hurt him. It was her. It wasn't a nightmare after all. She was the one who hurt Eijiro. She was the one… She had been a walking danger this entire time and everyone that stood next to her was a possible victim.

"Who…" She found her voice was weak and shaking. "Who else knows about this?" She managed to rasp out, balling her fists tightly. She tried to stop herself from trembling and tried to keep her breathing steady but it was impossible.

"Excluding those in the room, All Might," Aizawa said and Mizuki felt a bitter taste enter her mouth at the number one hero's name. "And possibly the League of Villains as well." This had the duo's bodies freeze up.

"The day at USJ, Shigaraki Tomura and Kurogiri were desperate to get you out of the picture. They also witnessed what happened that day. We kept it a secret for as long and far as possible to stop them from confirming their suspicions," Aizawa stated and Mizuki felt her stomach turn.

"W-wait a minute! Wait! Mizuki was a target of the League of Villains because of her Quirk? Doesn't that mean that she's in danger?!" Eijiro asked, face filled with concern and worry. Mizuki had been a walking target all this time and no one except the teachers knew about it.

"We took all possible precautions to make sure that she was kept safe." Nezu tried to calm the male, Mizuki recalling Aizawa giving her his contact number. "We never made the knowledge of her Quirk public because of the impact it could have."

"Impact…?" Mizuki let the word roll of her tongue and a dry chuckle escaped her lips. It was too much. Everything was too much. She had another Quirk? She was a target of the League of Villains? She was a walking time bomb for everyone around her?

"I was a danger to everyone around me and you thought it was safer if you didn't tell me? I had a target on my back this entire time and you didn't think, for one second, that I would want to know?" Mizuki asked, her tone of voice low and her anger soaring.

"Was it satisfying to watch stupid Mizuki walk around knowing she could hurt anyone at any moment?! Was it fun?! Did you have a great time sitting back and enjoying the show?!" Mizuki yelled angrily at them as sparks appeared on her body.

"Mizuki-""Don't touch me!" Mizuki jumped away from Eijiro's hand, his eyes widening when he saw the flash of fear in her eyes. "You heard them, didn't you? I hurt people! I'm not going to hurt you again! I refuse! I refuse to have this Quirk! I refuse to believe what you're saying! I refuse!"

"Mizuki-san, in the time that you were uninformed, we made sure to collect as much information on your new Quirk as possible. It was never our intention to deliberately upset you. We wanted to take as much precautions as possible to protect you," Nezu told her calmly.

"Good job! Your precautions stopped me from messing up the practical exam! I should applaud you for all of your hard work!" Mizuki snapped angrily at the principal, sparks appearing all over her body again.

She gritted her teeth and looked down at her hands. "I would've wanted to at least know that I could hurt someone. I would've done something…anything from stopping it. I didn't want this. I don't want this," she said as her body gave into the exhaustion, the anger not enough to keep her standing.

Mizuki sank to the ground on her knees, Eijiro quick to aid her side. Mizuki breathed heavy as she sat on the ground. She was tired, physically and mentally. She was emotionally drained and she wanted the ground to swallow her whole.

"Mizuki-san, I want you to know that the extra Quirk you have is good." Nezu jumped off the couch and walked towards her. "Quirks aren't there to hurt people. You'll learn how to use it in time and become an extraordinary hero," he told her and Mizuki's lips quivered.

"We already decided that this training camp is going to be hell for you." Mizuki glared at Aizawa and saw his smirk. "You're going to train the hell out of that Quirk. It's a Quirk much like mine so I'll be taking personal responsibility over you," he said and put a hand on her shoulder.

Mizuki flinched, uncertain if the touch would activate the Quirk. "I apologize that I didn't tell you sooner, Kid. You can put the blame all on me but I want you to overcome this and become stronger," he said and Mizuki averted her eyes to the ground.

"I'm not going to forgive you from keeping this from me. You better remember that. But you better help me control this thing inside me or I will have you as my first victim," she threatened and he let out a huff. Eijiro smiled at the small snap in her voice and the principal nodded in satisfaction.

"I have one condition, though…" Mizuki spoke and they raised an eyebrow. "Until I can control this Quirk, don't tell anyone else. Not until I can say with confidence that I am in complete control." Aizawa and Nezu glanced at each other, the scruffy haired male shrugging.

"Of course."

Mizuki let out a sigh and ran her hand through her hair. "Mind leaving us alone? I'm sure you have better things to do than just standing there and staring at me," she told the teachers and despite the eye twitch she received from Aizawa, they nodded in reply.

"Mizuki, before we leave, I want you to take the day off tomorrow," Aizawa said, the girl frowning and Eijiro's eyes widening. "I want you to talk to your parents about everything and take a day to recover. Your body has two Quirks residing inside you. The strain isn't just physically."

"I guess I don't have much of a choice, do I?" Mizuki wasn't hoping for an answer on her rhetorical question. "I'll take a day off. It's fine. I'll be sure to speak to my parents," Mizuki said and he grunted in reply.

She watched as he and Nezu walked out the teacher's lounge, closing the door behind them. The tension in the room went away along with the teachers and left the duo on the ground, Eijiro kneeling next to her.

"Red… I'm sorry that I dragged you into this mess. I was the one who not only hurt you but I also caused you to fail the practical exam. I want you to know that I'll beat this thing and that I won't ever do that to you ever again!" Mizuki said and made a fist.

Eijiro chuckled and grinned. "I'm not that weak, you know? I can handle anything thrown at me even if I don't have my Quirk. Besides, I don't mind sharing this burden with you," he said and Mizuki smirked.

"Thanks, Red. My 'I owe you' list is starting to increase more and more…" Mizuki trailed off, crimson eyes staring at the ground. Everything felt surreal. She could barely wrap her head around the new factor.

"I think it's amazing that you have another Quirk! I wouldn't want to be a villain if they had to go up against you. Bakugou's going to be-""I'm not going to tell him," Mizuki cut him off and he gave her a perplexed look.

"I mean, I don't even understand exactly what's going on. How am I going to tell him that I… I'll tell him when I have my thoughts in order. Besides, he's concentrating on his match right now," Mizuki said and Eijiro hit his fist in his hand palm.

"Oh right! You want to go and watch it, right? We may still make it in time!" He jumped up and held out his hand towards her. Mizuki felt a feeling of angst and nostalgia wash over her as she looked at the hand.

"Red… I…"

"It's okay, Mizuki. I accept all of you. You don't have to worry about hurting me," he said, his words tugging at the back of her mind. She hesitantly reached out towards his hand and then took three second of intense bravery before she put her hand in his.

"We should hurry before we're too late!" He exclaimed and dragged her along, the girl yelping at the strong pull. She chuckled as he tried to rush and shook her head. Crimson eyes fell onto his hand and her face softened.

Accept all of me, huh?
