Hi, everyone! Welcome to Book II of the Mizuki series. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.
Let's start with the story, shall we?*
Chapter 11
"Team Bakugou and Midoriya, practical exam. Ready go!"
The mechanical voice spoke over the intercoms that echoed down the hallway Mizuki and Eijiro were walking in. The last match of the day was starting and they nearly made it on time to the monitoring room.
"Looks like we made it right on time! Lucky!" Eijiro said with a grin, Mizuki chuckling. Thank goodness. This match had been bothering since the beginning of the day and she would do anything to watch it.
She felt the emptiness inside her and frowned deeply. She was worried about her brother. It felt like he completely cut her off from both his thoughts and emotions. He was pushing her away and she feared what was going through his head.
He was teamed up with the person he hated the most and his fuse had been lit for the entire week long. He was initially calm at the start of the day but as soon as it was announced that he was working with Izuku in a team, it all went to hell.
Mizuki clicked her tongue and let out a breath, wanting to step inside the monitor room but stopping dead in her tracks when she met familiar, divided coloured eyes. They were more surprised to see her than she was.
"Mizuki?"
"Huh? Mizuki-san! You made it!" Ochaco called out towards the ash blonde female, everyone turning away from the screen to see the ash blonde. Behind her was Eijiro, both looking completely fine.
Mizuki smirked and put her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow at Shoto's expression. "What's wrong? Did you think I'll lay in bed the rest of the day after taking a beating? Like hell I'll miss this match!" Mizuki said, walking passed the male confidently.
Shoto looked at her, blinking a few times as he took in the injury free female. She was alright. He had been on his way to the infirmary, not wanting to watch Katsuki's aggressive nature when she came out of nowhere.
"Welcome back, Mizuki-chan, Kirishima-chan. Are you two alright?" Tsuyu asked, her finger resting on the side of her cheek as she cocked her head slightly to the side. Eijiro grinned with a nod and Mizuki chuckled.
"Naturally. Nothing a kiss from Recovery Girl can't fix and I had a good partner that kept an eye out for me," Mizuki said and winked at the redhead. He felt his cheeks warm up slightly, his grin brightening.
"Mizuki-kun! Congratulations in passing! Kirishima-kun, you too! It was a tough battle but you were dedicated to push through until the end!" Iida complimented with a small smile. Eijiro merely nodded with his grin falling into a sad smile and Mizuki ignored the compliment entirely.
What was she going to say? She had been big mouth when she said that her deputy class representatives passed easily. It would be a shame to tell them that she failed. She didn't have the heart or pride to tell them.
If she told them she failed they would only start to ask questions. Questions she didn't have the answers to. Everything was still so unfamiliar and surreal for her. She didn't know if she was even dreaming or not. Nothing sunk in yet.
"Kirishima-san, what happened during your match? It looked like you were having a hard time using your Quirk and Mizuki-san too," Momo asked and Mizuki's eyes fell beneath a shadow.
"Ah, sorry if we worried you! I guess we were too busy trying to fend off the principal's attacks that we didn't notice we were losing stamina. Mizuki's body started to overheat while my hardening was losing its power. It was damn frustrating but at least we made it in the end!" Eijiro said and made a confident fist, Ochaco cheering next to him.
Mizuki wanted to sigh in relief. She was thankful for his quick-thinking replies. She didn't know what she would've done if they kept cornering her with questions. She knew that they cared but she…she just couldn't deal with it now.
Shoto frowned deeply at Mizuki's silence. He didn't believe Eijiro's answer at all. Mizuki running out of stamina that fast and overheating? She lasted much longer even when she used her ultimate move and her overheating was controlled by the cooling system she had installed.
He could tell she was acting out of character by the way she had her arms crossed, her hands holding onto her biceps and her crimson orbs staring off into the distance. She wasn't even looking at the screen above her.
There was something going on and he didn't like being in the dark one bit.
"Mizuki, what's wrong-?" Shoto reached out towards her to put a hand on her shoulder, crimson orbs shooting towards him. His eyes widened at the flash of panic and angst that flashed through her eyes and it was followed by the sensation of a strong grip on his wrist.
Mizuki blinked as she stared at the hand that held Shoto's wrist firmly in place and away from touching her. Eijiro stood next to her, his hand stopping the male from coming too close to her and his expression something she only witnessed once before at the sports festival.
Everyone inside the monitor room fell silent, even Recovery Girl had her attention on the scene. It was the first they had seen Eijiro act this protectively and possessively about Mizuki and the intensity of his stare made everyone swallow thickly.
Shoto's eyes narrowed onto the male, the grip on his wrist definitely not a friendly warning. "Kirishima, I would appreciate it if you let go of me," Shoto told the male, his tone of voice lower than usual and seemed to make the redhead snap out of his haze.
His eyes widened and he immediately let go with an apologetic smile. "Ah, sorry about that! I don't know what came over me!" Eijiro apologized, despite knowing very well why he did it. He believed in Mizuki and her self-control but he also knew that she was very uncertain and afraid to hurt another person.
"You know, if you want to be jealous, there are other ways of showing it," Mizuki teased the redhead and he felt his cheeks heat up. She looked at Shoto and gave him a sympathetic look, pointing at Eijiro.
"Sorry about him. He's a little overprotective after the fight, that's all. To get back to your question, I'm perfectly fine. I'm exhausted from pushing myself too far but other than that I'm sure I can still kick your ass in a fight," she replied and gave him a smirk.
It didn't reach her eyes.
Shoto scoffed and turned around to walk away. He didn't say anything else, Mizuki well aware that he was angry at what had happened. She felt a pang of guilt in her chest, Eijiro not too far behind her.
I'm sorry, Shoto, I wish I could clear up this misunderstanding but… I don't want anyone else to know about this. Please forgive Red for trying to protect you. I hope that someday you'll understand. Mizuki thought and held a hand to her chest before hearing a gasp from Ochaco.
She turned towards the screen, crimson orbs widening when she saw Izuku on the ground, holding the side of his face. Katsuki sneered at him, the hit obviously from the ash blonde male as he yelled at Izuku.
As she looked at her brother, she could feel the emptiness start to fill with rage that he could no longer surpass. He was livid and by his expression she could tell that he was out for blood. It was incredibly alarming.
On the other screen was All Might, his arm shooting out in a punch and the shockwave rippled through the town. It destroyed everything that came in its path. The windows and glass shattered, the road crumbled away and a walking bridge collapsed.
The pair was blown away by the force, Mizuki swallowing thickly as she observed the damage the number one hero made. What was with this power? He was going to go full out against them even though they were students and she had an idea that the weights weren't going to slow him down either.
"Even if we're standing on this side of the screen, I can still feel the sense of intimidation. This is the power of the number one hero," Iida said, the expression All Might wore making shiver run down all of their spines.
"Deku-kun…" Ochaco murmured softly, eyes flashing with worry. She had faith in all of Izuku's abilities but with Katsuki fighting alongside him…or fighting against him and their match up against the number one hero made everything more difficult.
Please be alright.
"Who gives a damn about damaging the city? If you think of this as an exam, you'll be sorry. I am a villain, heroes. Come at me with everything you've got!" All Might told the pair that was in front of him.
Izuku felt his body run cold at the dark tone the male took, panic rippling through him. There was no way they could face him or even fight him. Everything in his body was telling him to run away from the danger in front of him.
"We can't take him head on. Let's run!"
"Don't tell me what to do!" Katsuki snapped at the green haired male, a nervous smirk covering his lips as he looked at All Might. The number one hero attacked him head on, Izuku calling out towards him.
"Stun Grenade!" Katsuki exclaimed, holding out his hand palm as he let lose a blinding explosion. She didn't move an inch, not backing down against the male and he never will. He was going to fight the number one hero no matter what.
"Come at me, you said, All Might? Even if you didn't say anything, I was gonna do that-" Katsuki's words were cut off when All Might's large hand grabbed a hold of his face, stopping his onslaught. However, it was only brief before Katsuki let lose a flurry of attacks in the number one hero's face.
Ow, ow, ow, ow! Normally, if you grab someone's face, they reflexively try to move your hand. This kid's seriously only think about defeating me, huh? All Might thought and grabbed the hand that fired off at him. He spun the boy around and smashed him into the ground.
Katsuki caught as the wind was knocked out of his system from the force. "With such weak consecutive hits, it just stings though," All Might said, adding to the frustration of Katsuki as he coughed.
"And…" All Might appeared behind Izuku, towering the young boy. "You're not off the hook either, Young Midoriya. Are you leaving your teammate and running away?" All Might asked him and the hero killer flashed in his thoughts.
He instinctively activated his Quirk and jumped back, not noticing the ash blonde also moving in that direction. "Move!" Katsuki yelled as they slammed into each other. It caused the both of them to crash into the ground.
Mizuki's hands were gripped tightly around the railing that separated them from the monitoring screen as she watched the fight continue. The team work was non-existent and neither of them was following a plan of some sort.
One wants to defeat All Might. The other only thought of running because he admired him too much. To Izuku, All Might was everything he wanted to become and to Katsuki, All Might was everything he had to overcome.
Katsuki's combat ability was always one she admired since he put hard work into developing himself. She trained with him many times and he always had a way of topping her no matter what type of schemes she had up her sleeve.
Why was he acting differently now? Why was he this hasty?
The tension in the monitoring room was high enough to have everyone watch the fight in silence. They watched as Izuku tried to talk sense into the ash blonde male but he refused to listen to anything he said.
Katsuki, the image of a true hero inside you is one that always wins. You always believed that's what a hero does, win. I know you want to be number one. I know that you want no one to be able to come even near you but this isn't the right way. Mizuki thought to herself.
Her eyes widened when All Might came down on the arguing pair and threw a piece of the railing onto Izuku, pinning him to the ground and trapping him. He coughed at the impact, the pain evident in his expression and Mizuki flinched.
Izuku, what are you doing? Fight already! She thought and her knuckles started to turn white. What was the week's training for is he kept wanting to run away? He was stronger than this! Braver than this! How was it possible for the two most amazing people to fall apart the moment they came together?
All Might pinned Izuku to the ground easily, the male trapped beneath the railing he tore off. In the next instant he was punching Katsuki full force in the stomach. The impact caused the male to throw up, the pain from the hit souring through his body as he crashed into the ground.
"Kacchan!" Izuku called towards the male as he lay on the ground, his body trembling and fighting against any possible movement. His facial expression showed his panic and his body was trapped in the fear and hopelessness.
This wasn't right. Katsuki was losing against All Might and refused to listen to him. They were both being treated like rag dolls and Katsuki didn't even stand a small chance. The ash blonde boy who always boasted about how much All Might always won in a fight no matter what the odds were.
He always came out of every predicament he was in and fought until he was able to win. Why was he acting recklessly like this now? Why was he laying on the ground in a pathetic heap? Why didn't he want to at least listen?
"Hm, Katsuki? We both know he's a real piece of work, Izu-kun. But you know what? There's nothing more reassuring than him having your back. His backside is the most reliable thing. You know he'll never move away. He's indominable. That's what makes him amazing."
He recalled Mizuki's words from a memory long ago. He remembered the why she talked with such admiration towards her brother and how her eyes gleamed. She had told him what he knew about since childhood. The immovable Katsuki Bakugou.
Izuku gritted his teeth and pushed his hand palms onto the ground as he tried to move out of the restraint, he was in. Kacchan, you're a jerk. But, yeah… No matter what, you always make sure you're the winner. I admired you for that!
Katsuki's entire body trembled as he tried to find the strength to stand up. The force of All Might's blow had weakened him drastically and only made him realize what he already knew. It was so damn frustrating!
"I know why you're so angry." All Might walked up towards the struggling boy. "It's because of Young Midoriya's sudden improvement, right? But you know, there's no way a level one power and level fifty power can improve at the same rate," All Might said and Katsuki's body stopped trembling.
He gritted his teeth, anger soaring through him as All Might continued. "There's so much wasted potential in you. Do you understand. You do, right? You still have so much room to grow! But I'm not talking about power-"
"Shut up, All Might…" Katsuki rasped, cutting off the teacher, a part of his body still hunched as he tried to catch his lost breath. "If I have to get help from that scum, then I'd rather lose…!" He said, Izuku's eyes widening in shock at those words.
Katsuki was dead serious, his expression unwavering as he gritted his teeth. He refused. He refused to get help from the worthless nerd. No matter how much he wanted to win. That would mean that he accepted Izuku. That would mean that he would accept the useless nobody who thought he could stand in the same ring as he and that was the worst part of it all.
"I see. Don't regret this."
All Might made a fist, pulling it back as he prepared to attack. Katsuki expected the blow, only to have a completely different fist make contact with his chest, All Might's fist missing the target that vanished in front of him.
"Don't you say that you'd rather lose!" Izuku yelled at the male as his fist sent him flying off. Katsuki was forced to roll on the ground as he tried to stop himself from crashing. His mind was in a whirl, his body still refusing his orders.
Izuku took the opportunity to grab a hold of the male and ran off, leaving All Might briefly caught off guard. He did not expect Izuku to jump into the fray at all and as he wanted to go after them, he once again noticed the heaviness of the weights.
It was going to be a bit more challenging than he thought.
Mizuki's grip never ceased on the railing, her teeth grinding against each other and crimson eyes gleaming brightly. It was painful to watch the two easily being dominated by the number one hero but even more so when she felt the emotions of her brother.
She watched as Izuku punched him, clearly upset by something that Katsuki said and she had a bad feeling about the words that escaped his mouth. This was no time for them to fight. They needed to find a way to win.
They managed to escape into an alleyway before Katsuki hit away the green haired male. She watched as they seemed to yell at each other until Katsuki slammed his fist into the wall with an explosion.
You two… Please stop fighting already! This isn't how it's supposed to be! Why won't you at least listen to one another? Why do you always have to fight? Why do you have to hate each other so much? Mizuki thought in despair.
It was all she ever wanted. She only wanted them to get along. She didn't expect them to become best friends or have a brotherly bond. She only wanted them to understand one another and respect that they were both aiming to be the best.
Was it too much to ask for?
Maybe watching this match was a bad idea. She wanted to support them both despite knowing how it would end. She was naïve. She always had been. They would continue to fight no matter how much she tried to stop it and that was what made her the most upset.
All Might ran through the ruined street, glancing from side to side as he continued. He thought of possible scenarios where they could be hiding and didn't find any clues as to where they would go. A possibility was the escape gate but he would find them in time before they came near.
"Where are you looking?!" Katsuki yelled as he jumped out from behind All Might, the pro hero glancing backwards at the male. His teeth were gritted as tears of frustration stung his eyes, his one hand palm outstretched.
You're pissing me off! He angrily thought and let lose an explosion in the male's face. Like I'd work with someone like you… Like you! Katsuki continued to use his explosion on the pro hero to keep him occupied and then growled.
"Deku!"
Izuku came in from behind All Might that was briefly distracted by the ash blonde male, a gauntlet in his one hand. All Might wasn't going to budge with only half of their power. They needed to give him everything they had a point-blank range.
"Shoot!"
Katsuki used his explosion to take to the skies as Izuku held out the gauntlet towards the pro hero, his finger curling in the pin. "I'm sorry, All Might!" Izuku stated and then pulled out the pin, an enormous explosion erupting from the gauntlet and engulfing the blonde hero.
Izuku let out a cry, his hand flying towards his shoulder as the force broke through his shoulder. The pain was excruciating. How was it possible that Katsuki and Mizuki used this kind of power without damaging their shoulders?
"Run, idiot!" Katsuki flew over the male, Izuku snapping out of his thoughts and soon followed him after activating his Quirk. They needed to get away from All Might as soon as possible. There was no time for him to think about anything unnecessary now.
They managed to make a plan where they compromised between running away and fighting. They also made sure that when they attacked him that they would do so in the already damaged areas. That way they could assure that they wouldn't cause any more problems.
"Don't you say that you'd rather lose!"
Katsuki gritted his teeth as he recalled Izuku's words. He continued to propel himself forward with his explosions and kept his eyes hidden beneath a shadow that fell over his eyes. What the hell… What the hell was this stupid nerd spouting?
"Katsuki, why are you so angry? Are you an idiot? You're not seeing the real picture here, are you? I already saw what I needed to make up my mind but you're going to have to get past your own pride to see what's really in front of you."
Like hell he would.
"We're almost there! We're almost at the escape gate! It seems cuter than it should be but as long as one of us gets through, then we pass!" Izuku informed the ash blonde male as they continued to run towards the finish line.
Katsuki clicked his tongue in irritancy as he looked at the half-destroyed pathway they continued on. Damn it, he sent that blast from where they were in the middle all the way to the gate? What the hell was with this male's power?
"It doesn't look like All Might's chasing us. Don't tell me we knocked him out…?" Izuku continued to ramble aloud, adrenaline pumping through his system and keeping him filled with enough energy to run.
"HAH? Bastard, didn't you keep saying there was no way we'd beat him, you idiot?! There's no way he was knocked out by that, scum! The next time he catches up, it'll be my turn to blow him away with my gauntlet!" Katsuki snarled at the boy.
"Yes, yes, and then?" All Might suddenly appeared between the two students. Katsuki was about to pull out his gauntlet but it was smashed to bits in a flash, the one around Izuku's arm soon following the same fate.
"What are you surprised about?" All Might said, Izuku's eyes widening in horror at his speed. Even like this, because of the weights he wore, he was nowhere near his top speed. All Might let out a huff and clenched his fist.
"Now, die, heroes!" All Might exclaimed and slammed his knee into Katsuki's chin, the male sent crashing into a nearby building. Izuku gasped and wet to rush to his air, All Might grabbing a hold of his wrist.
"Who do you think you're talking to?!" Katsuki shouted as he emerged from the building, right arm pulled back for an attack. However, All Might slammed Izuku into the male, hitting him into the ground with brute force.
Katsuki was forced underneath the male's foot while Izuku was being held up by his arm in the air. Both boys were in pain from the impact of their crash, each blow from the pro hero powerful and overwhelming
"Wonderful, Young Boys! You cooperated—however reluctantly—and faced me! However, you two, that was a prerequisite for this exam!" All Might told them, Katsuki growling as he struggled beneath the foot that held him down.
Overwhelming speed… His stamina and power are also overwhelming… It's simply… Simply power! Facing off against him, I'm reminded of that again. That's right. This man is the highest wall in the world. The greatest hero! Katsuki thought, his hands digging into the ground.
"What kind of face is that, Young Midoriya?" All Might asked as he watched the male writhe in his grasp, desperately trying to pry off the hero's hand. He threw him onto the ground, Izuku gasping on impact.
"Getting away from me with your maximum firepower and then getting through the escape gate. That appears to have been you boys' answer, but now that I've destroyed Young Bakugou's gauntlets, you've lost that maximum firepower. It's over," All Might said.
His words burned deep within Katsuki and he growled angrily. "Shut up!" He snarled, his hand palm facing upwards towards the hero. All Might had to time to brace from the enormous explosion that erupted form the male's hand and was briefly blown away.
Katsuki snarled out in pain as the muscle fibres in his arms tore. It hurt like hell but at that moment it didn't matter. They needed to win. He refused to lose. Even if it meant that he was going to have to act desperate.
He picked Izuku up from his lying position and pulled him up until he was at his face height. "I'm gonna send you flying!" He grabbed onto the yelping male's clothing and arm. "I don't like it, but with what we've got right now, this is the only way to win!"
"Hey, wait! Don't tell me-""DIE!" Die?
Izuku was thrown with great speed and propelled by the large explosion that Katsuki made, his arm throbbing in pain and protest. Izuku gritted his teeth, briefly taken by surprise until his green orbs settled on the escape gate.
Right now, while All Might is in the air, the goal is… He thought and outstretched his arm as he aimed for the escape gate. He could make it. He was sure that he could. They could win this if only he went through it.
"New Hampshire Smash!" All Might propelled himself through the air using one of his punches and crashed right into Izuku's back with much force. Izuku yelled out in pain as the crackling sounds reached his ears.
"Come now, you're being naïve, heroes!"
Katsuki cursed at the male's movement and took to the skies while Izuku crashed into a buss, his back damaged from the attack. He clearly underestimated and forgot about the way All Might could use his attacks to move in the air.
Katsuki moved in the air, his explosions erupting from his hand palms. "The gauntlets were so I could use maximum firepower with no risk!" He smirked, crimson orbs gleaming as he held out both his hand palms and his sweat glands forced to secrete more of his Quirk.
"I was so stupid… There's no way I could beat you without taking any risks! All Might! This fight isn't over until I say it's over!" Katsuki exclaimed and then let lose another large-scale explosion that nearly blew away the pro hero.
It hurt like hell! He used the large-scale explosion twice and the pain in his arms were excruciating but he was still far from done. He could still go. He could still push himself further, beyond his own limit.
"Go! Deku, hurry!" Izuku tried to push himself up into a standing position, his back stopping him from doing so. "I can still move more than you with your cobbled-together power! Make yourself useful, damn scum!" Katsuki yelled.
All Might came from the smoke and Katsuki held out his hands as he let out a flurry of large explosions towards the pro hero. The pain pulsed through his arms but he kept going, never letting it stop him. Izuku needed to get through the gate first!
All Might wasn't occupied long with the explosions and went after Izuku's dragging body only to be intercepted by Katsuki. It was so damn frustrating. His arms were stinging and sore, his muscle fibres torn and his sweat glands aching.
All Might dodged his attack, grabbed onto his face and then slammed him into the ground, Izuku gasping in terror at the impact. It was one frustration that he would never tell anyone and one that he would keep to himself for the rest of his life.
"Go to sleep, Young Bakugou. Sorry, but as a teacher, I'm a little traumatized when you destroy your own body to fight," All Might said, Katsuki's hand twitching. He gripped the arm that held him, sparks appearing on his hand and catching All Might off guard.
"Hurry up…go…damn nerd…! I break…and break myself… Even if it means twisting myself, I'll win the way I choose… I won't accept that I can't even beat you like that… No way!" Katsuki growled out and bit down on the hand that held his face.
The truth was…he envied Mizuki.
She was powerful, able to use her Quirk all over her body. She could manipulate her temperature and burn through almost anything. She was compassionate and always reached the top with only being who she was.
Yet, he knew that she suffered from the blessings. She could easily destroy her body with one wrong step of her Quirk. She was constantly at war with herself when it came to her two biggest passions and she was suffering from sacrifices she made for others.
Why? Why did she always keep pushing forward like that stupid nerd? How was she always able to turn a bad situation around? Why was she aiming to be by his side when she already surpassed him long ago? Why couldn't he be stronger than she was? Why couldn't he win?!
Kacchan…! Izuku let his power surge through him, All Might's eyes widening as he snapped towards the male to stop him from going towards the gate. A silent gasp escaped his lips when he caught sight of Izuku rushing towards him, fist pulled and a forced smile on his lips.
"It's the times when you're scared or worried that you should deal with smiling!"
"Please move, All Might!" Izuku asked and gave the male the strongest punch that he could muster at the moment. All Might was hit solidly on his cheek, Izuku grabbing Katsuki and running off despite the rocketing pain in his back.
"I won't-!" All Might coughed, his hand coming to his mouth as steam came from his body. He watched as Izuku ran with an unconscious Katsuki in his grasp. Izuku could've passed by going through the gate by himself and yet he chose to save Katsuki first.
He hit me with everything he had, huh? Ah, that's right. That's how you were from the beginning. You can't help but save those who need rescuing. And at times like that, there isn't a wall that can stop you. That's the kind of person you've always been.
"Team Bakugo and Midoriya have passed!"
Mizuki never thought that she would ever hear those words in her life. She never thought that relief felt this good or that the stress that left her body could make her this tired after watching this intense match.
They did it. They made it. They passed.
She was filled with so many various emotions and they were all hidden beneath a shadow that fell over her eyes. Her body was still trembling slightly, the connection between her and her brother starting to calm down.
To think that they put aside their differences for one moment and was able to take a small victory from it caught her by surprise. It was possible. They could work together and if they did, she was sure that they would be able to reach hights than no one had ever been able to grasp.
She watched as Izuku carried her brother and her crimson orbs quivered. The little shit actually pulled it off to work alongside her brother. Despite everything, he was still going strong and he was still acting as heroically as always.
Mizuki was proud of him. She already knew that he could fight his own battles and this only confirmed it. He had her worried. They both did. She could still feel the anger from the match and bit her bottom lip.
All positivity aside, she was upset that they both went that far, especially Katsuki. Why did they always have to start fighting and only later listen to each other? When were they going to learn that they were much better together than apart?
"That was intense… Are you alright?" Eijiro asked Mizuki as he came in by her side. He caught sight of her trembling hands as she let go of the railing and she was quick to hide them. He couldn't even begin to understand what she felt and it worried him.
"They passed. That's all that matters now…I guess…" Mizuki trailed off, the arguing and fighting against each other still fresh in her mind. She let out a breath and gave Eijiro a small smirk. "They'll hear it from me later on, don't you worry." He blinked and then chuckled. Of course, they would.
Ochaco and Tsuyu jumped up and down while cheering loudly at the duo's victory, Mizuki letting a breath escape her lips. All that mattered was that they were safe. She would wait until they were both alright before dealing with them. For now… Mizuki looked down at her hands and frowned.
She had other things to think about.
