Chapter One: The Investigation

It was a summer day in a village behind the mountains. Lady Kaede, yearning for a visit from her beloved, told her beautiful apprentice, Higurashi Kagome, about a doctor who lived just out of reach. Rumor has it that this doctor is an attractive woman, but Kagome believes that this doctor quite possibly was a mirror's reflection of Kaede in her youth. Long, dark hair, pouty lips, pale skin, and a powerfully curved figure. Yes, this doctor had to look like Kaede in some way. Perhaps her hair was just as long? Perhaps her skin was like porcelain glass? Her lips could be as perfect and red as a child's pout. Whatever her form, she was desirable, and her story was quite legendary and mysterious... just like their beloved sensei. In a recent letter from her lover, Kaede spoke to Kagome of two lords who have spoken to the doctor at one point. Their names were Sesshomaru and Jaken.

Jaken, a frightful loudmouth, demanded to know more about the doctor and wouldn't rest until she entertained him. Lord Sesshomaru in his quest for... something of interest left Jaken to do what he wished. The poor doctor as beautiful as she is kind defiantly allowed Jaken to demand conversation. She spoke of her forefathers' pasts.

"Arimasa is one of my forefathers!" the doctor bravely asserted, sticking her proud bosom out to show pride in her family history. "He was a travelling priest who practiced medicine a tad late in his age, but he grew accustomed to it quickly. He married a fisherman's daughter and had eight children. Of the eight, two inherited his medical skills. Unfortunately, one passed away at seven years young. Medicine, war, and religion are the very foundations of my family! Every generation has at least one doctor, and each doctor in that generation develop their skills at a later age. The first doctor in my family was a samurai of the emperor. He developed a strong incense that repels demons like you!"

"This Jaken and Lord Sesshomaru are not weaklings," Jaken said, smirking proudly. "No repellant could easily hurt us!"

"Lord Sesshomaru? I don't believe you! No demon is that powerful!" Meioshi argued, feeling the cutting, humid wind against her face. "Now that I think of it, why on Earth would a powerful demon like that be interested in medicine?"

"It might have something to do with the rumors about your beauty and power, I suppose," Jaken answered. "Me lord hasn't battled a worthy adversary in some time. What are you like on the battlefield, doctor?"

"I could waste entire cults and villages if I wanted to!" the doctor tried, backing away from the annoying imp.

"Hmm... I don't care about humans the way me lord's father did, but... I wonder if it's mating season for a demon of his kind?" Jaken questioned, dragging his claws against his chin and smirking dangerously. The doctor gasped and cowered with some worry at the suggestion. Certainly, Lord Sesshomaru wasn't about to start searching for mates in the medical field, right? Jaken chuckled in the doctor's face and said, "Oh my. This clearly shows we know very little of Lord Sesshomaru's behaviors."

"Wh-wh-what kind of investigation is this?" the doctor questioned, backing away from Jaken and finally revealing an enchanted dagger.

"This is a matter of science, doctor!" Jaken answered, laughing. "Can't a young, virile nobleman take an interest in a beauty like you? Lord Sesshomaru is the son of the great dog demon, Inu no Taisho," Jaken informed, imagining the fearsome form of Sesshomaru's father. "Only a woman of your build and... potential will suffice for him! Nya ha ha ha ha!"

"Potaruopuna, take flight!" the doctor quickly ordered, summoning reiki to fight. She'd be damned if this Lord Sesshomaru tried his luck!

"Who is Potaruopuna-sama?" Jaken asked, earning the screech of an owl. He looked up to see an owl perching itself onto the beauty's shoulder with its groomed talons and flapping its beautiful and wide wings. "An owl?"

"This is Potaruopuna-sama," the doctor said, scratching underneath the owl's beak with femme fatale confidence. "He is a very special friend of mine."

"Friend and advisor, no less," the owl grunted in a deep, scratchy voice. "I am familiar with these demons you allowed on the estate. The dragon serves as a means of transportation for your Lord Sesshomaru, son of Inu no Taisho. A powerful leader and being like that can only raise haughty bastards, or at the very least impatient sons with no manners, but I hear he is no longer bad ton. He is a compassionate, haughty bastard now?"

"You feathery fuck!" Jaken insulted rudely. "How dare you insult my lord!"

"Potaruopuna, this won't bode well…" Meioshi mumbled, reaching into her dress to retrieve a string of blue pearls.

"I will say as I please, little imp!" Potaruopuna screeched, flapping his massive wings. "If your lord is a haughty bastard, then he is a haughty bastard. That is all I will say of this matter."

"Flames of - !" Jaken started, preparing his staff to attack the owl.

The doctor wrapped the blue pearls around her hand then released a binding spell on Jaken. She chanted, "Baindo, imp, Kodai buruparu!"

The dragon roared in the distance as it watched the doctori's power surface. It could feel a faint seal rising from the ground. Jaken was startled by the sudden chant. He looked into the woman's glowing eyes, and his body was frozen from the harsh gaze pouring from her once gentle and kind eyes. A single raindrop fell from the heavens and into an illusionary pond, but Jaken could feel the cold moisture of both the fog clinging to his legs and the pond his feet were pinned in. Such power locked inside a human was impossible, especially the power to perform strong binding spells like this! Soon, Jaken was completely immobile and helpless under the doctor's spell. Her eyes stopped glowing and the magic stars locked in them were gone. She sighed in frustration then turned her head only slightly.

"It is quite rude not to announce your presence, young man," the doctor said.

Jaken looked up from his fallen position to see... his Lord Sesshomaru! He could have sworn he went to Kaede's village. Why did he come here? Perhaps he sensed the doctor's power or felt Jaken was taking too long with the investigation. Maybe he wanted to know if Aa and Un were okay. He wouldn't care if Jaken was hurt, would he?

"Lord Sesshomaru!" Jaken called, quite surprised by his lord's presence.

"Who are you?" Sesshomaru questioned, anger boiling within him.

"Kichōna Hasu, but Lady Kaede calls me Meioshi. Lord Jaken has told me much about you, Lord Sesshomaru."

"Release Jaken from his binds," Sesshomaru demanded with a faint hiss in his tone.

"I would," the doctor said, smiling brightly, "but he tried to hurt my Potaruopuna. Is this the 'haughty bastard' you were referring to, my lord?"

"He is exactly the one," the owl remarked, plucking a feather from his chest. "You may need this if you hope to live."

"Oh, stop it!" Meioshi giggled, taking the feather. She replaced the blue pearls in her dress and searched for another trinket on her body.

"Where are you looking?" Sesshomaru questioned.

Meioshi felt the wind of his breath caressing the side of her neck and shivered slightly. She continued looking for her trinket until she successfully retrieved it. Sesshomaru saw the gold glimmer from the sun-shaped object and wondered what other powers the woman before him possessed. His sword was out of his sheath already; her death could be prolonged if she proved a worthy opponent. Even a human can fight back. The woman turned around and looked into Sesshomaru's eyes for a brief moment. Both man and woman were taken aback by each other's finely featured face: the glowing eyes, the shiny hair, the fair skin, and the supple lips. Meioshi swallowed, letting her throat work a bit, and then took a few steps back. She placed her sun trinket atop her cradled thumb and flipped into the sky. Sesshomaru watched the glimmering object twirl until he felt something stab him. It was the owl's feather! Though the sun trinket was only in the air for a few seconds, it must have been enough to distract him. Once he looked at the prickling feather embedded in his chest, his eyes met the woman's in a gripping gaze.

Meioshi sighed then said, "It's a pity to have such a fine subject be bound on my engawa, but I have a village to go to soon. I cannot allow these kinds of distractions to continue. Shibaru Inu, Chen-bi!"

A death-like grip forced Sesshomaru onto his knees and bound him down. Jaken called out to Sesshomaru in utter shock, growing an intense hatred for the woman who bound his master. The dragon cowered, hoping it wouldn't be sealed by the intimidating woman before it, but roared in protest all the same. Meioshi put her trinkets away then turned to the owl on her shoulder.

"Well, that will hold him down for the night, but it won't last by morning. This one's a bit stronger than you thought, Potaruopuna. I honestly wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he broke the seal by the time I turn my back. Terrible shame this is, though."

"Shame, you say, doctor?" the owl asked, tilting its head.

"There are no books on dog demons or their anatomy. I would have enjoyed conducting a few experiments on this one," Meioshi said with a seductive smirk. "Such a blooming shame!"

"Careful, doctor. We have a village to go to," the owl reminded. "Using your binding powers like this will cause much disruption."

"Blast!" Meioshi complained, kneeling before Sesshomaru. "My apologies, Lord Sesshomaru. I know you probably had other plans besides resting here like this, but I cannot allow such unlawful riffraff on my property. The reason your most loyal servant is in his binds is because he tried to attack my darling Potaruopuna. Strong, devilish demon men like you will devour me the moment I even utter the words of prayer. I need my beloved friend with me."

Sesshomaru looked into Meioshi's apologetic eyes and mumbled, "Even a devil's son can find...other uses for the likes of you."

"What other use is there besides a taste of flesh and blood?" Meioshi questioned, caressing Sesshomaru's hair. It was very soft to the touch. "There's not much a demon can do with an old doctor covered in soil."

"A bosom like yours is bound to show promise," Sesshomaru commented, looking down at Meioshi's breasts. "Dirt does nothing more than entice more sons."

"Lord Jaken," Meioshi called, turning to the imp. "You never mentioned that Lord Sesshomaru was a perverted CREEP!"

The last thing Jaken saw before fainting was Meioshi planting her foot onto Sesshomaru's head… Terrible, terrible mistake…

"How dare you insult me!" Meioshi roared, unleashing a strong bout of reiki.

But, Sesshomaru was indeed too fast and too strong for her. He made quick work of tackling the doctor to the ground and pointing his sword at her throat. Frightened by his intense gaze, she quivered underneath his body. She tried to get away, but... she couldn't escape his clutches... or his kiss. It happened so quickly. The beautiful doctor tried to resist, but Sesshomaru pressed his body against hers and dragged one free claw against the ground to show he had no problem with killing anyone, especially not a woman. Something about their kiss ignited something within him, though. He jabbed his sword into the ground to trap the doctor, growled like the vicious dog he was, and dared for the doctor to move any further. Helpless, the doctor remained still and had to let his lordship study her. His eyes went to each curve and soft mound the doctor's robes could barely contain. If she breathed too harshly, her top could pop open and further entice the young lord. Yet, that excited her. She didn't understand it. Why would she think this rabid dog disguised as a man excited her? It made no sense.

Sesshomaru's hand did the unthinkable in that moment. Instead of clawing at the ground, it lightly caressed the doctor's bust and made her lightly, sensually, sweetly gasp and blush. His lordship explored more than the doctor's eyes, more than her lips, more than her bust in those few moments. He saw something so much more dangerous and thrilling. He saw the forbidden... He saw a rumor become the truth. This frail beauty was warm underneath his armor and clothes. So warm and so close that everything felt stiff and tight.

"I may have use for a healer, after all, little doctor," he purred.

"We are enemies!" the doctor snapped, trying to resist him. "Besides, I don't know how to heal demons like you! Release me this instant, you flea-bitten beast!"

"Such an arrogant mouth you have. I think I'll shut it up..." Sesshomaru growled, eyes locked with the doctor's.

"Anh!" the doctor voiced, trying to push Sesshomaru away. "Mm!"

Sesshomaru kissed her again to silence her and whispered, "Why resist the opportunity to have such a jewel in my bed chambers? I'll be making you my mate, little healer. This body... and this kiss... will belong to me for eternity. That's plenty of time to make ruling this pathetic country worth my while. Your beauty will be admired just as much as your medicine."

"I'll never give in to the likes of you!" Meioshi bravely argued.

"You'd best get used to the feel of me over you. You have quite an eternity to look forward to and quite the body to satisfy me with..." Sesshomaru threatened coldly.

What will happen to our soft, fragile doctor? Will Sesshomaru destroy her from the inside-out? Or will she bravely change the darkness in his heart and force him to see that all humans deserve a second chance? Find out in Chapter 2: Run, Doctor! Your Virtue is His Prize!

"This is driving me insane!" Kagome yelped, throwing papers into the air and flopping onto her bed.

She really should be focusing on something else, but she couldn't help it. The writing bug got to her. Next thing she knew, she was making up a romantic counterpart for Sesshomaru again. It helped distract her from Kaede's love stories at least. They both were such terrible romance subjects! One was too flipping mysterious, and the other one was too flipping emotionally constipated! Who said reading other authors' romance novels was a good idea anyway? It really wasn't! She was supposed to feel sexy when reading and writing a new romance. All she felt was frustration! But..., she needed this hobby. She was going to be living the rest of her life with Inuyasha from now on. She had to decide on what she would bring to the past in order to enjoy a long future. It couldn't be a lot of things, just a few things. Her writing hobby was the perfect thing to bring.

"I need better inspiration than this..." Kagome pouted. "Just one clue about Kaede's beau. Maybe even another clue on this other apprentice of hers. Big brother's only going to be able to do so much. Why can't he be a normal pervert or something? Or even be that guy with a girl or two after him for the money? Something that'll get him out of his shell! Maybe it's a good thing I don't know anything... Look at me... I have something modern to hold onto. Something that'll help me transition to my new life. I need time to think about it all. This might be aggravating me, but... it's honestly helping me, too. I wonder if I'll ever meet this doctor... What's she like? Will I be like her then? Another doctor or nurse? Is she sweet or mean? Will I be able to talk to her or is she too old? All these secrets!"

Sesshomaru and his band of men were walking back to Heiwa with the prized jewel in hand, talking about nothing and everything. Yamashi was able to get what he wanted from the Yama Oroshi's body parts. It was pretty brutal, but it was necessary. Voices from a nearby village were panicking as the sun began to set and a roar bellowed from the other side. Suspicious, the men waited until something came out. A burst of fire from combusting alcohol erupted from the side of a home. From the smoke came a smirking thief running off with large pots of water and wine. Samurai came around the corner to chase her down.

"Hey! Get her!"

"Stop her!"

"That thief!"

Picking up her speed, the girl narrowed her eyes, threw a smoke bomb down with visible force, and took off into the shadows. She leapt up into the trees and leaped from one branch to another. Ichi responded first to the sudden escape and chased the girl down until he was within range to cut a branch with his chakrams. The girl gasped, flinched, and muttered curses before she acrobatically dodged the spinning weapon. She took out a basic sword to defend herself just in case, but she also kept a tight grip on her pots of liquid. Somehow or another, Sesshomaru got dangerously suspicious of the girl running away from them. When the samurai led the way in chasing after her, he caught sight of a kunoichi also leaping through the trees and bounding on rooftops to catch up with the thief.

"Reijiro," Sesshomaru called, turning to his comrade. "Follow Ichi."

Catching a bamboo shoot, the thief slid down it and leaped behind a strange building. Her mask and hat did excellently in shielding most of her face. The sounds of whipping and cutting alerted her attention. She turned sharply to see what was behind her and panicked when she saw Ichi's chakrams and Reijiro's shadow manipulation licking the air around her feet.

"Shit, shit, shit!" she yelped with a squeaked.

Shuriken cut through the air following after the chakrams. She was seriously panicking now, and the route to her hideout wasn't far. It was just bad for business if those samurai and that kunoichi caught up to her. She had two other things to steal from this village... and for good reason! She didn't need the money per se. Just these particular items! That was it! Finding her "fox hole", the thief turned around sharply, threw another smoke bomb on the ground, and ran straight through some bamboo shoots to dive into the hole.

"She escaped!?"

"Shit!"

When the girl made it to an abandoned shrine, she dropped her pots and collapsed on her back to catch her breath. That was a close call. Way too close! She'd have to travel lightly if she wanted to go back to steal her other item. The fox hole closed up in a puff of smoke to leave behind a Shinto paper hanging on a string. Yanking off her mask and pulling up her hat, the thief stretched out like a cat and smiled a bit. Eventually, she let out a laugh at her fumble. She wasn't supposed to be found out so quickly. She was usually good at this. This is what happens when you set out to work for an honest living! A familiar friend ran up to her and landed on her bosom with a light bounce.

"This is an absolutely awful idea, doctor," the Green Pheasant said, flapping his wings to maintain his balance when she sighed with frustration.

"Oh, where's your sense of adventure and mischief, old friend?" Meioshi questioned.

"Is this the kind of shit you want to teach to the children?" the Green Pheasant asked, leaning over to frown.

"Well, that idiot daimyo refused to trade holy items with me and I need them!" Meioshi complained. "I can't help it if he refuses!"

"Captain Yoshiaka doesn't need anything! This is ridiculous!" the Green Pheasant argued. "Your reputation as a samurai was already under fire. Why make it worse?"

"Meh, it's useless to me anyway. I owe Yoshiaga for helping Hasumi. This is the least I can do for giving her a second chance. Now, have you taught Kinzo how to use our portals or not?" Meioshi asked, finally lifting off her back to properly speak to the Green Pheasant.

"Unfortunately, yes, since you want to teach him our ways. I do not like any of this!" the Green Pheasant complained, stomping his talon and walking off to the old shrine. "Why on Earth was I cursed with being the guardian to this troublemaking child?"

"You love it!" Meioshi said with a mischievous wink. "Oh, let Yoshiaga know I took a bit of the saké if you don't mind. It's pretty good."

"That wine is for ceremonial use, you know," the Green Pheasant informed, lighting the flames of the old shrine telepathically. "It is considered a high sin if you consume it for pleasure."

"I'm already screwed. Doesn't matter," Meioshi said with a shrug. "I've got some fun news, though. Sesshomaru's back from his boys' trip."

"Shit toast on a Monday..." the Green Pheasant grumbled.

Author's Commentary Corner: Hello, my beautiful people. As promised, I am presenting my sappy love note to all of you for this amazing support over the course of my redoing this series. If you're new (as in you have no idea what I'm talking about), you probably don't know about the infamous sex scene that started it all. So, in my haste to get new readers interested in this work, I posted the love scene between Sesshomaru and Meioshi very early on with the hopes of maybe telling the story backwards instead of how I initially had it. It still flopped and Hell Doctor wound up being my least liked/read project. I left this story alone for many years and just couldn't get interested in writing more on it since there was no feedback on it at the time. Well, friends, something in me just refused to give up on it one day. I don't know why, and I honestly couldn't tell you what made me want to stick to this one, but I wanted to give this story another try and finish it to completion. We have astoundingly gone from just 7 measly chapters to a record-breaking... 200! XD We have also spread to other platforms as well. The response has been astounding all around, and it has taught me a lot about how to engage with the audience.

I don't know why you all have decided to give me another chance, but I'm glad you did. :') This is the furthest I've ever gone with any story project I've started on FFN. I have the biggest shoutouts to give for this season. It's actually ridiculous! XD But, I'm glad that there is a shoutout squad to say thank you to. Without you, Hell Doctor would have just been erased for good. Honestly, the issue with the sequel has been very eye-opening for me. I was going to stop writing on this officially after reading some of the remarks from the fanbase on that issue. I'll save my comments on all of that in the Author's Acknowledgements section towards the end of the series, but some of the exchanges that were made were just out of pocket. It was passed the point of being toxic or even concerning at one point, so I wrote a big note WAY in chapter 25 about it. I didn't expose anyone because it's not my place to do that, but I did express that I wasn't sure if I could continue to support the Inuyasha franchise or fanbase as a whole. My dearest friends, marsmagari and Eala Bhan, I would say coached me through that period of doubt. While it warmed my heart to know that they were interested in the story overall and wanted to see more of it, I owe them so much more than this small shoutout because I had to approach the situation another way and I don't think I could have/would have done it without them.

So, to marsmagari and Eala Bhan, thank you for being my writing coaches in a way. Life will happen, but you shouldn't let it poison how you live it. Speaking to both of you helped me see that Yashahime was really a sequel for Sesshomaru/Rin fans. Not for me or a good chunk of the fanbase, but we also shouldn't be mad at the fans for liking that ship. It is strange to us, but there's a lot of ships that are. What's one more? To Alannada, thank you for helping me deal with the picky pistachios in a kinder way. I could have ranted about it, but it helps to respond with a calm mind. To my picky pistachio, there_but_not_there, thank you for challenging me. Sometimes, I need a harsh word to re-evaluate my writing, and it helps to know that you're a firm supporter of Sesshomaru. If you didn't like how Meioshi was giving him the works, I already know you wasn't feelin' the sequel. XD To my darling, Whorekneebitch, we need to talk about this name. But, I am forever grateful for your kind review.

The end of this special will have all the usernames of the people who have favorited, followed, liked, bookmarked, whatever support you have given me. I will share my thanks because I have no right to say I've done anything without you. You all have pushed me to write (and fight for) the sequel I wanted to see, and I'm happy to be able to share my vision with you. You even like the kung-fu/Eastern fantasy take on it! ;-D That's good news! So, friends, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being with me on this monumental update. I hope you enjoy everyone's hard work and the expansion of lore for our characters. I hope you like Kagome's romance writing adventures, and I hope you participate with all the riddles and such going forward. You will be in control of what you want to learn/do.

Now, with that out of the way, let's get to these reviews. *reads everything from 180 to 199*

To marsmagari: This is actually a second time, I think, you've pulled quotes consecutively from this work. That's impressive! I'm happy you're enjoying the dialogue, though. Maybe one day, I'll do a character "Wiki" page and use the lines you remember to intro the characters. If I don't do that, then I probably could open up another countdown list category. Maybe something similar to GoodReads "Best Character Quotes"? That'd be cool.

On deities: I'm hoping to use more deities who don't get any screen time in this fic, but, so far, I do like the "tainted saints" I'm using/creating and I would like to learn more about the personalities of well-known deities for the world-building aspect of things. More on this anon.

On Meioshi & Sojuro: Apparently, Meioshi is a whole anime waifu and I didn't even know it. 0_o Let's GOOOO! XD I am so unimpressed with my sex scene writing, it's actually triggering, but I'll get better at it. Practice! Like my sex scene skills, Meioshi is also working towards getting better at not showing her own obsession with Sojuro. Sojuro actually called Meioshi out on her past obsession with him, but the key is she doesn't know that Sojuro has a REALLY poisonous obsession with her. I look forward to sharing the absolute explosion that goes on between them. It's like I get to read and experience it with you.

On Kagome: I think her involvement in this story will be nice. I wanted some closure from her character and clarity on her situation due to timeline shenanigans, so I jumped in to clean up a few loose ends. That third year leading into the Final Act is where it goes down. I'll give you a small spoiler as a gift for this fantastic feedback and support after three lovely years of revamping this tale. So, I mentioned that Meioshi "cheats" on Sesshomaru around the 100th chapter mark. This was mainly to answer Eala Bhan's question of when Sesshomaru and Meioshi actually get together romantically. Well, she does this by visiting the future with Kagome (as she's preparing to live with Inuyasha in the past) and meeting someone there. This is where you, the audience, get to decide if you're Sesshomaru/Rin or Sesshomaru/Meioshi. By then, you would know Meioshi intimately as a character and can make that call. By that point, I've done all I could do to make Meioshi different from all of the women/girls that have fallen in love with Sesshomaru. It truly is up to you if she's earned her place as a love interest. If you feel she hasn't and she's better off as merely an ally, that's your last chance to say so; otherwise, I will keep going until the end for the people who want to see it.

On Yamashi's foreshadowing: I'll never tell. What I will say, however, is that line is more loaded than you think. You have to include events from Season 1 into that assumption as well, and they're not all good ones for our mains.

On male-male relationships: There's just not enough well-rounded father-son bonds in anime anymore. That needs to change. Regardless, I wanted to make Toga a fuller character, so that we all can feel the weight of his death in different ways, but I didn't want a woman to contribute too much to that. That's not me being chauvinistic or anything. I've noticed over the years how women have raised children and how the world responds to that. Women try to (or a lot of times, don't have a choice but to) take on too much responsibility in raising up a man and society wants nothing to do with it at all. If they do get involved, it's in the form of ridicule. That treatment bothers me. For Sesshomaru and Toga's stories, I needed a male presence to be capable of love but not come off as too feminine. Hikozaemon II fit that bill perfectly since he's loosely based on a canine species that caters to the weaker, smaller ones first and he naturally cares about the survival of his kind due to the rebellion he was part of when he was younger. For him to be such an intimidating figure but still have the capacity to cater to the young was what I ultimately wanted. Shounen anime is notorious for having trash dads, and shoujo anime is notorious for having pushover dads or abusive dads. I can't name you that many dad characters who are good. Unfortunately, Toga fits right in with the classic shounen dad character. To get him out of that mold, I had to shape him up to be a regular man and showcase his emotional compass coming from both parents, not just one of the parents. It added to his overall character, and it seems to be making it harder for the audience to truly hate him, which is what I want. I want you to be in different shoes when it comes down to it. There is a character here that you can relate to when it comes to Toga. It's simply a matter of which one.

On the sex books: Sesshomaru's initial reaction to them is justified, I would say. I've portrayed as best as I could what the world was like for some young women and children during the Sengoku era. Though my work is not complete on this, I am learning a great deal about the time period for myself. The safety of the youth was not full proof, so Sesshomaru is right in having negative feelings towards Meioshi's practices. Meioshi's intentions for the book are also hard to judge, given what you and Sesshomaru know about her. It's easy to find her strange. However, as said before, her sex books are not perverse publications. They're teaching materials. Sesshomaru just has no concept of that because sex is very taboo during the Sengoku era and that's not a topic that's brought up with the mindset that Meioshi has. You performed your duties out of function, not pleasure. That's why having mistresses was such a common thing. Beyond that, the original storyline doesn't have a sexual education teacher either. It's more or less a show of bravado with the male characters. They just take what they want from a pretty girl if they're interested in said girl, so Sesshomaru's protectiveness - while fully justified - is also detrimental to the overall learning experience he has to go through. His most recent interaction with other men his age, who know about sex extensively via marriage or life experience, makes him realize how little he knows.

On Jaken: I'm being selfish here. I wanted him to be a fighting machine for a change. XD Why can't I have that?

On guardian spirits: This largely applies to the humans. A human with a pure heart can become a guardian spirit or something within that realm. A human with a tainted heart can become a demon the way that Naraku did or something along those lines. Humans with a heart in perfect balance can have a nice afterlife, but those with more sin in their hearts obviously get a bad afterlife. It all depends. For demons, it's a bit different. They're not judged by heart. They're judged by merit. If a demon has done more good deeds than bad, a deity or representative can train them to become youkai. Obviously, bad deeds make a demon more primitive/evil by nature. There's more lore to this, but this is a simplified explanation.

I believe that is all for now. So, I won't see you, guys, until after the special is over this time if it's not done in 20 chapters. I should be done with it long before then, but I have expanded on a lot this season. Main reason being I did collaborations with other authors to create this special, and they need time to see how I did everything first. I can't spoil things for them by speaking in the middle of things. Hence, my absence from the corner. Please don't hesitate to tell me anything via review or message, though! I'll still be able to respond to you. I just won't do this big footnote until all is said and done. Without further ado, let me get to work on Chapter 1 of our special. Ciao! XD
