Disclaimer: I don't own Sonic.
"Hey, Sonic!"
Sonic stopped running upon hearing his name being called. He swung around, a bemused look on his face at the sight of who was approaching him. It was a hedgehog just like himself - except this one was silver instead of blue.
"Hey, Silver!" Sonic smiled cheerily. "How's it going?"
Silver stopped before Sonic. He cast a solemn gaze towards his fellow hedgehog. The serious expression he wore contrasted with his supersonic counterpart's carefree grin.
"Sonic…" Silver murmured. "I got a message to give ya."
"A message?" Sonic exclaimed.
"Uh huh." Silver nodded. "But this is no ordinary message. It's a shocking, terrible message that's sure to cast a dark cloud on your bright day."
Sonic blinked, his smile disappearing. The way Silver had described it the message he had for him didn't sound nice at all.
"Are you sure that kinda message is for me, Silver?" he asked.
"I'm afraid so," Silver affirmed. "You won't like hearing it, Sonic, but you're gonna have to."
"Do I really need to?" Sonic groaned. "I mean, like, do I really really need to hear it?"
"You gotta, Sonic. You're the one who needs to hear this message - and I'm the one who needs to give it to you."
Sonic sagged his shoulders. He didn't like the sound of this at all, but it was clear he had no choice. He was going to have to hear this awful message from Silver, whether he wanted to or not.
"Alright then…" he sighed. "Gimme the message, Silver."
Silver nodded slowly. He fixed his hard gaze onto Sonic. He took a deep breath, then let out the massage he had to give to his fellow hedgehog…
"IT'S NO USE!"
Sonic cried aloud. He let out all the horror he was instantly filled with from hearing what Silver had to say. The wail he let out escaped from his gaping jaw - before dying down as his blue face scrunched into a deep frown.
It was indeed a terrible message which Sonic had received. Hearing it come from Silver brought back horrible memories - of all the countless times he'd heard it non-stop when the two of them had first met.
"There you go, Sonic!" Silver broke into a grin, feeling pleased with himself. "That's my message I had to give you!"
"Ya don't say?" Sonic muttered, clenching his hand into a fist. "'Cause it just so happens I got a message to give to you, too, Silver…"
"You have? What's your message for me, Sonic? Lemme have it!"
Silver found out at once what message Sonic had to give him - as the blue hedgehog flung his fist into his silver face, bringing a cry out of Silver as he was thrown off his feet to fall unconcious.
"That's what you get for annoying me with those irritating words of yours that you never stop repeating like a broken record!" Sonic growled.
"That's not very nice, Sonic!"
Sonic's ears twitched. He easily recognised that sinister voice which spoke to him from nearby. He turned to see Dr. Eggman was hovering nearby in his pod. The blue hedgehog gritted his teeth, far from pleased to see his evil arch enemy.
"Silver didn't do anything wrong!" Eggman said gruffly. "There's nothing wrong with hearing somebody say something over and over and over again!"
"Don't say it, Eggman…" Sonic warned, having a terrible feeling he knew what the mad scientist was going to say next.
"You know what they say!" Eggman grinned. "The more, the merrier!"
With a loud roar, Sonic leapt up and away from where Silver was lying on the ground, delivering a brutal kick to the hovering pod that sent Eggman flying sky high.
"I'm all for kicking your butt again and again, Eggface," Sonic growled as he came down to land, "but hearing the same things being repeated endlessly is where I draw the blue line!"
