Chapter 11: So Long, Squidface
Outside of Bellwood
Ben stood upon the cliffs of the desert. This was it. The last time he would ever fight Vilgax. Thirteen years of combat lead to this moment. But how did he get here?
Hours earlier…
The Plumber Communication Systems were going off the rails with reports of a large entity moving through space. There was a mass exodus of aliens when reports of Vilgax approaching Earth.
Max was being pulled in all directions. Something big was coming.
Then...a message came in. Addressed to Ben.
The older man called everyone in for this operation. Everyone came to the station.
Max began to speak. "It's all hands on deck for this one. Vilgax is on his way here with the celestial."
Ben sighed. "Well…we knew this was coming. Has he made any demands or threats?"
Patiliday pulled up the message. "Squidly sent over a transmission. Take a listen."
He began to play it.
"Ben Tennyson, I send this message to you. I wish nothing more than to destroy your backwater world. But I will give you a chance to fight. Me and you are finally finishing our endless rivalry. Should you defeat me, the universe will be spared. But when I kill you, I will burn down the entire universe and rebuild it in my image. Come to these coordinates alone. No Omnitrix." The message ended.
Everyone looked at Ben, who was already removing the Omnitrix.
Rook asked. "Ben, you can not be considering this deal."
"I am Rook. If this is how the Earth gets saved, so be it." He set it down on a nearby table.
Max sighed. "Ben, please be careful...this isn't like the fights you had when you were a kid. Vilgax has the power of a god. More than a god."
Ben nodded. "And I have learned almost every form of martial arts and magic in the past few months. I have to take my chances…"
"How about we even the odds in your favor then?" A voice said.
Everyone turned and it was Azmuth. He was on his hoverpad. "It seems you need something to even go against Vilgax. And I have just the thing." The Galvin snapped his fingers and a sword appeared on the table.
But it wasn't just any sword….it was Ascalon. The sword that was used to eliminate the entity known as Dagon. Almost as powerful as the Omnitrix.
Ben's eyes widened. "Azmuth…are you sure?"
Azmuth nodded. "I can't think of anyone more worthy to wield this weapon." He smiled.
The hero took hold of the hilt and it started to glow as bits of armor encased Ben. His chest, wrists, legs and back.
"This is will work perfectly." Ben said.
"Just be careful, son. We know Vilgax doesn't play fair."
Ben nodded and went to the teleporter.
Present Hour…
The hero watched the sky, sword by his side.
He squinted and saw something enter orbit. It was one of Vilgax's ships.
When it landed, the door opened revealing the tyrant.
"Ben Tennyson, today will be our final meeting. One of us will die today. And I will make sure it is you..."
Ben noticed Vilgax was more…darker in color with an orange hue around him.
"You feeling okay, Vilgy? You look sick." Ben said. "Looks like our fighting has caught up-"
He was cut off as Vilgax threw a punch that sent Ben flying back. "I will crush your skull, boy!!" He snarled as he charged.
Ben pulled out the sword and the two clashed. Over a decade of fighting leading to this moment…
Meanwhile...
Vilgax's armada started to invade. Worldwide, his ships were positioning themselves all over the world. The stronghold was going to be Bellwood. Once it fell, the world would feel the wrath of Vilgax.
But the Plumbers had other plans. Max organized the teams together and divided everyone into groups.
Julie noticed she was not in a group. "Wait, why am I not in a group?"
Gwen laughed. "Need I remind you what happened between you and Ben?"
Julie looked at her confused. "What? Oh you mean that…"
Flashback Christmas Morning
"Ben…there's one more gift we almost forgot." Julie smiled as she handed him a small box.
Ben raised an eyebrow and opened it. His eyes lit up in shock.
Ben sat there in shock, holding the pregnancy test. "It's…you, isn't it?"
Julie nodded. "We're going to have a baby…"
He smiled and hugged Julie. "I can't believe it…"
Julie giggled. "Neither can I…"
Present Day
Gwen nodded. "Exactly you're pregnant! You're not going anywhere." She said rather bossy like.
Julie rolled her eyes.
Gwen shook her head. "Now as for my team we need-"
"Your team?!" Julie interrupted. "You're more pregnant than me! You're what… nine months pregnant with twins! You're about to pop!"
"I am not about to pop. I am-" She was again interrupted.
SPLASH!!!
Gwen's waters broke. "Fuck!"
Kevin's eyes widened.
Max called the medics and Gwen was rushed to the medical wing, Kevin following close behind.
Two heavy hitters out, but the teams could still manage.
Max gave them jobs: evacuation, distraction and defense. Three teams, three spots.
Everyone nodded and made their way to Bellwood to enact the plan.
Back with Ben and Vilgax…
The hero was dodging the tyrant's laser attacks. One thing he had mastered was his speed and he glided effortlessly along the ground. He gritted his teeth as he charged Vilgax and sliced his leg.
Vilgax growled and grabbed Ben, slamming him into a stone wall. Ben grabbed the hilt of Ascalon and used it to hit the squid faced creature in the eye.
He groaned in frustration as he dropped Ben, who was already getting to work dismembering Vilgax. He sliced off his arms and tried to go for the legs, only to be met with a foot to the face. It sent him flying across the ground.
The dismembered arms had tendrils growing from the cut area and reattached themselves to the tyrant's stumps.
Ben got up, his armor chinked from the battle. He growled. "How are you still alive?!"
"Celestial technology, boy. It heals me as you try to slay me. You can not hurt me, Tennyson." He laughed.
Ben narrowed his eyes. "We'll see about that, you bastard." He held up the sword and charged again.
But this time…
Vilgax grabbed the sword and used his claws to slice Ben in the face. The hero groaned in pain, letting go of the sword as his face was covered in blood.
He could not see out of his right eye. He looked up at Vilgax, who broke the sword in half with an evil smirk on his face. "You…how?" Ben muttered as he dropped to his knees.
Vilgax walked over. "I told you: you can not hurt me." He grabbed Ben by the neck. "But...I can hurt you." He then jumped off the ground, taking flight.
The two flew to the city, where the Plumbers were busy fighting off the invasion forces. They were getting overwhelmed as the troops just kept coming. Julie looked out of the corner of her eye as she wore the Ship armor. "It's Ben!!!"
Everyone looked up in horror.
Vilgax wound his arm back and slammed Ben into the pavement.
His friends watched as Ben hit the ground, beaten. He held his chest in pain. "He's…too strong..:" The defeated hero said as he could not get up.
The team was backed in, they were surrounded by the troops.
Vilgax laughed like the villain he was. "And now to finally extinguish the Plumbers and Ben Tennyson once and-"
Vilgax was cut off as a portal opened. From it came Retsu, holding something. "Ben, catch!!" He threw it and vanished back into the portal.
Ben caught it and…it was the Omnitrix. He slapped it on and felt the second wind kick in.
He jumped up, tearing the shattered armor he had on off. He smirked. "Now that's so much better."
He turned the dial and pressed it, engulfing himself in the familiar green light.
Everyone covered their eyes, even Vilgax. When it dissolved, Ben was no longer there, but instead…Alien X.
The entity was man-shaped with a black body that had stars on it. He had a three-pronged crest on his forehead.
Vilgax backed up in fear. It made sense. The only thing that could defeat a celestial…was a Celestialsapien.
The hero looked at everyone. "Leave. I shall finish this..." Ben said in multiple voices.
They immediately retreated through the portal left by Retsu, closing it.
Ben lifted an arm and a white beam came from his hand, obliterating the invading forces. He turned his attention to Vilgax and began to blitz him, hitting him over and over with speed and hard punches.
Vilgax could barely keep up. Every hit he threw was countered and reciprocated with harder force.
But he still had one last chance. "If I can't have the universe…then I'll destroy it!!!" He pressed a button and the celestial body began to enter the atmosphere. When it did, its chest opened, revealing a large weapon. It started to glow, readying up to fire.
"Fuck…" Ben thought.
Meanwhile…
"AHHHHH!" Gwen screamed through the labor. The poor girl was pushing and breaking nearly every single bone in Kevin's hand. Kevin toughened out the pain, reminding himself that labor was more painful and that she had to do this not once, but twice so he kept his mouth shut.
During one of the hand squeezing sessions, Kevin groaned and hit his comm system on his wrist that was assigned to communicate with Ben if he ran into trouble… well…
"Ahhhhhh!!!" Gwen screamed and cursed out every single person in the room just as the comm went on.
Ben groaned as he listened.
Inside Alien X's Mind..
Ben was surrounded by two green glowing heads. Bellicus and Serena.
Bellicus groaned. "She is so loud!!"
"Relax, darling. She is having a baby. It's only natural." Serena calmed him.
Ben replied. "It's certainly not helping..."
Alien X was in complete limbo as the weapon was about to fire.
He had to do something. Ben nodded and as the beam fired, he flew in front of it and blocked it. The beam and Ben were fighting against each other and Ben started to push it back.
But the victory wouldn't last as Vilgax flew in, throwing punches at Ben. Ben grabbed Vilgax and flew him into the core of the celestial. The tyrant screamed as the celestial began to collapse inside itself because the warp core was damaged; opening up a wormhole.
Ben knew he didn't have a lot of time so he sent one last message for his family. He just finished it before he got sucked into the wormhole. It exploded and the celestial was no more.
Rook tried to contact Ben after what everyone had witnessed. "Ben, do you read me?!" He kept trying.
No luck. Ben's comm was radio silent, no signal.
His lovers began to freak out. What would they tell poor Evie?
Evie grabbed a comm, she had heard and seen everything from a monitor in the Plumbers base. "DADDY!!!!" She screamed, tears rolling down her little blue cheeks.
All the lovers' hearts shattered, hearing her cry. Looma scooped up the little girl, holding her close. "I'm sorry, my little warrior..." She held her own tears back to stay strong for Evie.
Meanwhile..
Gwen was having the twins, her eyes and mouth glowing pink with energy from her Anodite powers. Then...finally…the twins were born!!!
A boy and a girl. Gwen was exhausted, but so happy. The couple held their newborns.
"They need names..." Gwen uttered
Kevin nodded. "They do…"
The two had no idea what just happened…
Somewhere else…Earth AA
A portal opened in the sky. From it came Ben. He was falling from the sky after the battle. "Whoa!!!! Shit shit shit!!!" He quickly transformed into Goop and hit the ground with a SPLAT!!!!
He reverted back to his human form and sat against a rock, panting. Damn, he was exhausted after that fight…his eye still bleeding and blinded in that eye.
He lied back, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes. He was like that for a few minutes until he heard a weapon charge up. He opened his eyes and saw two Plumber soldiers standing there.
"Commander Tennyson? Is that you? What happened?" One asked.
Ben replied. "You…know what happened. Vilgax attacked."
"Sir, you must have hit your head. Vilgax has not been around for years since you stopped him two years ago." The other Plumber said.
"But that..."
He was cut off as the two helped him up. "Come in, sir. Let's get you back to base for medical attention." The trooper said.
They loaded in a vehicle and took off to the base. Max's Plumbing store.
Ben was confused. The base was no longer here. "Why are we here?" He asked.
"This is the base, sir." They entered the loading bay.
"Magister Tennyson, we have found Ben. He is badly injured and needs medical attention." One of them said.
A voice responded. "What? That's not possible. Ben is at home with his daughter." It was Max.
"We found him outside of town." The soldier said.
There was silence. Max then said. "Take him below. It could be Albedo in disguise again."
And a few minutes later, Ben was in a cell after he had gotten attention. He pounded on the glass. "I'm not Albedo!! It's me, Ben!!"
Max stepped up. He looked different with a robotic left arm. "You are not Ben. You sound different, look different and that's not what the Omnitrix looks like. And you smell different. Like you actually bathe."
Ben then realized what was happening. This was not his world. "I am Ben. Just not your version."
Max replied. "How-"
At that moment, the elevator opened. From it came an 18-year old boy. He wore a green jacket with black stripes that had white near the wrists, a black shirt with green stripes and dark jeans. On his left wrist was a version of the Omnitrix. He sipped a smoothie and approached Max. "Hey Grandpa. Mom and dad volunteered to watch Lumi so I could work. What's all this-" He saw who was in the cell and spit out the smoothie. "Albedo?!" He went to transform, but Max stopped him.
"Our troops found him outside of town. It's you..."
The two Ben's looked at each other.
"From an alternate dimension..." They said at the same time.
AA Ben looked. "Open the cell…"

And there we go!!! Wow, this took a while. I've had a rough few weeks so my muse has been low. I will work on my posting schedule and get better. Please bear with me.
