A big reminder that I am NOT interested in commissions. Whether art-related or anything along those lines! I am up to my neck in dealing with these no-good scammers! I just wanted to remind everyone that this is a website to share stories to encourage people. If you hate it, then don't bother reviewing in the first place. The next time this happens again I am not going to give them a chance at all! One commission review and the user's out the door! In other words…blocked and reported! So, Art Commission Scammer Sharks, be warned.
Now, back to the story. Thank you.
The Gotham Grimtales in civilian form and Izzy did all kinds of fun, performing magic tricks, and playing some games like bean bag tossing and whack-a-mole. Izzy used one to relieve her stress of anger: a test of strength. Izzy wasn't very strong and when she hit the pad with the hammer, it didn't go up and just said 'weakling'. Harry then gives it a try and when he whacks the hammer on to the pad, it almost hit the bell and it calls him 'average'.
"Ha, ha!" Evan said, laughing. "Average at best."
"I suppose you can do better," Harry remarked, not offended nor upset about his results.
"Watch a master at work," Evan stated, whacking the pad with the hammer. He focused his stress and anger as he hit the pad and it did reach the bell, but it didn't tell him that he was strong... Below 'average', it said 'beginner's luck.'
"Oh, yeah, Evan. You definitely showed me," Harry replied sarcastically in a playful manner.
Evan rolled his eyes but smiled.
"Let's play more games!" Izzy said with excitement.
Later, she, Even, Greg, Pauline, and Harry were bumping each other in the bumper cars. Izzy had fun bumping Greg because he did not expect her. But she mostly likes bumping Evan. And he can't escape her.
"Why do you keep whacking me?!" Evan questioned.
"You have this vibe I'm feeling," Izzy said. "And it makes it more fun."
"It's true! You definitely do!" Greg called out, unable to laugh at this.
Harry and Pauline laughed, too, but then Izzy bumped into them, next. "Gotcha!"
"Oh, it's on, now!" Pauline replied, trying to steer her cart to get Izzy.
"You are one wild tsundere, Izzy!" Harry stated, having a blast with this.
Subsequently, they went on the old ride that looked like a roller coaster. Izzy had fun on the ride, but Greg felt motion sickness. After the ride was done, Greg quickly went to a nearby old garbage bin and they threw up his lunch.
"Oh, dear. Are you all right, Greg?" Harry asked, checking on his music-loving friend in concern.
"I'm fine," Greg said, getting his head out of the garbage bin. "Probably shouldn't have eaten that tuna fish sandwich before doing this."
Izzy then tried out shooting cups to win a prize. It was hard at first, but she got all the cups in one hit on her fourth try. And she won a cute little white and blue bunny plushie.
"Congratulations, darling! What shall we call your new friend?" Pauline asked, proud of the young girl winning the prize.
"I'm gonna call her…Thumper," Izzy said, snuggling with the bunny plushie.
"An excellent name," Harry agreed, smiling after helping Greg out to take a breather. "Let's continue the next event."
Next, Izzy tried out the pie-eating contest and, later, she won first place. And Harry gave her a prize, a red and gold dragon plushie.
"Yay! I'm gonna call you Storm," She said, snuggling both the bunny plushie and the dragon plushie.
"Wow, Izzy! I didn't think I'd meet anyone with such a big appetite," Evan complimented, seriously amazed.
"Thanks. My Mom would feed me a lot of food. Says I eat like a wolf who hasn't eaten in days," Izzy said.
"Huh…you don't say," Harry said, looking at Pauline with the same idea to work on later.
Izzy was now excited to try out more stuff at the carnival. "So, what's next?"
"We still have a few more areas to try out," Greg verified.
Izzy then tried out more rides, games, a haunted house, which made her hit Evan's knee (thankfully, Evan didn't feel any pain from it), and a house of mirrors. She sees her reflection as a tall girl and the rest see themselves as muscle men. She then went with Pauline on a huge slide and went all the way down saying,
"Weeeeee!"
"Woohoo!" Pauline cheered, having fun.
The boys waited at the bottom for the girls to see them having fun.
"All right. We have less than an hour left before Izzy needs to go back home," Harry explained. "What do you say we finish the night off with a musical and magical performance?"
"Oooh a magic show?" Izzy asked, where Harry and Pauline nodded. "Most definitely. Yes!" She replied with glee.
The blonde magician looked at his friends who nodded and got ready. Harry took Izzy's hand and guided her to their final destination. He had her take a seat with a few extra chairs beside her to place the two stuffed animals giving her company. Once she was seated, Harry made his way to the stage with Greg in the DJ booth, Evan on the left near the blond boy, and Pauline on the opposite side.
"This is going to be so exciting." Izzy said, shaking in her chair while eating a corn dog.
"Lady and stuffed creatures great and small! We hope that you've enjoyed our grand carnival event tonight," Harry announced, twirling his wand like a pro. "As much as we'd love to have this night last forever, all good things must come to an end."
"Although we want to continue making this the best experience, sometimes the best things have to come to an end whether we like it or not but we have to deal with it so let's make this final performance the best one out of it," Pauline said, looking at Izzy.
"I understand," Izzy said.
"With that being said, we'll be closing our special event with a performance that I hope you'll enjoy," Harry stated, before looking at the DJ. "Okay, Greg! Play something uplifting for this grand finale!"
"You got it, Harry!" Greg called out, selecting the best mixes to play.
Once the song started playing, the three Grimtales on stage started dancing and circling in unison where they kept in beat to the rhythm.
Izzy kept eating her corn dog, as she watched the performances, listened to the song, and saw everyone doing amazing stuff. "Wow..." She said in awe.
"Come one, come all, Hearken to the call," Harry sang, doing a few hat tricks before bringing out his wand to do magic. "The celebratory echoes of our grand carnival,
Be drawn into a world of magic by our show,
With fireworks in tow,
The night sky all aglow~!"
"With elegance and charm, Exuberance and glee; There's nothing that can stop our wild whimsy," Pauline sang the next verse, doing a few twirls and arm movements that made her elegant and poised. "There's no need for alarm,
As we dance joyously,
To the beat of our drums~!"
Harry used his magic wand to give Pauline purple butterfly wings to fly a few feet and twirl around the stage before landing in elegance and then created yellow steps/objects where Evan did a few parkour tricks on them. He then made a bunch of blue fox figures dancing around the stage until the Fox of Spades showed up in the center after they disappeared.
"So, celebrate and we know you'll have a ball," Harry and the others sang in unison while still dancing.
"We'll beat the drum 'til curtain call,
We won't hold back at all,
You gotta live a little, let go,
Our bodies grooving in a room filled wall to wall,
So come on down now,
You're welcome into our show~!"
Just as Harry puts the Fox of Spades in a big magic box and says the last line of the lyrics in the song, he mutters the magic words and opens the box where...The Fox of Spades was gone, but... Izzy appeared instead! Greg noticed that the Fox of Spades was in Izzy's seat. Then, fireworks blasted off the stage as Izzy was being lifted by Harry and Pauline.
"For every note that's played and every accolade," Evan sang the next verses, doing a few flips and leg-kick moves that were whimsical yet fun. "And every mask that hides a secretive message conveyed,
And as we serenade,
Our characters portrayed,
In this masquerade~!"
"Come with us to a place that's far beyond," Greg pre-chorused, still DJing in his booth and enjoying the show himself when noticing the green musical notes brought to life by Harry.
"Tonight rejoice along to our jovial song,
At the carnival~!"
Harry skillfully did a combination of both his friends' moves yet in his own style. Even danced with Izzy by lightly spinning her around and had her try to copy his and the others moves when next to them.
"So celebrate and we know you'll have a ball~" Harry and Pauline sang together, having Izzy between them to lift and spin around for a bit.
"At the carnival~" Evan and Greg echoed together; now having Greg come down to join the others in dancing.
"We'll beat the drum 'til curtain call, Like we don't have a care at all~" Harry and Pauline continued, before putting Izzy down and kept dancing. "You gotta live a little, let go,
Our bodies grooving in a room filled wall to wall,~
"At the carnival~" Evan and Greg echoed together once more.
"Let yourself be free," Harry and Pauline then brought Izzy center to the stage to finish the song.
"Let yourself be free~"
"At the carnivaaaaaaaal~!" Izzy sang the final lyrics.
The performance ended with everyone striking a pose with Izzy front in center. As if she's the star of the show all along.
"That was...Awesome!" Izzy said, very happy with what just happened. "The way to end my greatest experience is to end with me!"
"We knew you'd love our grand finale," Pauline responded, knowing she had fun, too.
Izzy then started to yawn. Something the group noticed.
"Looks like it's time to call it a night," Harry noted, helping Izzy out. "Allow me to escort you back home. Do you three have it under control here? Or would one of you like to accompany us?"
Pauline looked at Harry and shrugged before replying. "Nah, the kid knows you more than she knows us. So, it's best that you take her home first."
"Aw, man. How are we going to pack everything?" Evan whined, knowing it took them days to prep for this event.
"We'll figure something out," Pauline replied.
"You know, I was thinking, we don't have to take it down," Greg offered. "We can leave it open."
Despite the valid idea, the other three Grimtales knew the answer too well not to go along with it. Even looked at each other slightly troubled.
"We can't do that," Evan answered.
"Why not? It would be a waste to get rid of all this hard stuff we worked hard for," Greg stated.
Pauline shook her head. "Look, Greg, we can't leave this stuff here. We don't have a business license, we don't have permits, and..." The fashioned girl paused as she looked at Izzy, feeling drowsy. She then moves the conversation a few feet away and uses sign language so Izzy doesn't realize what she is telling Greg. 'Practically all of our mentors are supervillains and some of the stuff we're using connects to them. She called out about Joker using this place once as one of his old hideouts. We don't want Izzy ratting us out to Batman when noticing the clues to give away our secret identities.'
'Oh…right,' Greg silently responded with his hands, feeling bad about not thinking of that possibility. 'Sorry.'
"Go ahead, Harry. We'll figure out what to do with everything we built here," Evan said.
"Thanks, everyone. After I help drop off Izzy, I'll come back to help you three out," Harry responded, lifting Izzy to carry her in his arms while exiting. Even picking up her new stuffed toys she won with Spade's help. "Say goodbye, Izzy."
"Bye-bye," Izzy said...in an echoey voice.
That left the three Grimtales stunned.
"…Did that sound creepy or is it just me?" Evan asked.
"Not just you, dude," Greg stated, standing by his side. "I'm hoping that was my tech responsible for emitting a surround sound effect. Because I don't want to think of the alternative."
"Come on, you big babies," Pauline scoffed, grabbing the two boys from behind and pulling them back. "We got a lot of cleaning up to work on before sunrise."
Later...
Harry continued moving and carrying Izzy until arriving at the orphanage. He also managed to switch Izzy back to her regular clothes with his 'magic' before leaving the carnival event. Same with his look from fancy magician to regular attire. The last thing Harry needs is people getting the wrong ideas of a kid in a magician looking suspicious and causing trouble…possibly believing he's Jervis recruiting another Wonderland victim when that's far from the truth.
"Pssst. Izzy," Harry muttered, lightly shaking the drowsy young girl still in his hold. "We're here. Back in the orphanage."
Izzy opened her eyes and saw the orphanage. She also saw herself back in her regular clothes. "Oh, I'm home. Was it all a dream?" Izzy looked around and noticed that Harry and Spade were holding her plushies. "It wasn't a dream. Thank goodness."
Smiling gently, Harry carefully put Izzy down and held her hand to go up the steps to reach the door.
"I told you I'd bring you back home safely," Harry stated, giving the stuffed dragon toy to Izzy with Spade bringing up the stuffed rabbit. "And you have a few new friends to keep you company. I think Storm and Thumper will enjoy being with you from here on out."
"Yeah, they will," Izzy said, hugging her stuffed animals.
"Would you like me to deliver the dress Pauline made for you?" Harry questioned, wanting to have Izzy decide if she should keep it or not. "I'll come back tomorrow and present it in a package personally."
"I like that," Izzy said. As she was opening the door, she stopped and looked at Harry. "Thank you, Harry, for giving me the best night to remember."
"Happy to make your night, Izzy," Harry responded, smiling.
"See ya..." Izzy quickly opened the door and closed it, seeing Harry wave goodbye.
"Yeah…See you around," Harry said, before turning around and leaving the place with Spade by his side. "Come on, girl. Time to head back with the others."
Unaware to both Izzy and Harry, a certain caped figure was watching from a far distance. Although he looked at Izzy with shame in his heart, because secretly...what Harry said to her was true, he wasn't there to save Izzy's parents. But that doesn't mean...he still has a chance to make things right with her.
To be concluded...
Now that was an evening Izzy will never forget. And it looks like the Dark knight was about to catch on about what happened to the poor girl's parents. What does he have planned? Find out next time.
The lyrics and song used in this chapter are from 'Grand Feast Daydream (Wuthering Waves 2.0)' sung by Annapantsu. A huge thanks and shoutout to VinnieStokerLover for introducing me to the song last week. It's more than perfect for a special event. Gives a mysterious Greatest Showman vibes. And I love it. ^_^
Also, the stuffed animals called Thumper and Storm are references to my Miraculous characters Time Thumper and Arashi. I first drew them as a fun reference and Alvaxerox used it as part of the story. I even referenced Izzy's alternate character from the Miraculous world when using the word 'tsundere'. Since she's Spider-Tsundere in Alvaxerox's stories.
I hope you all enjoy it. And no flamed nor fake reviews, please.
