Chapter 37 Finishing My List
Saki's POV
Performing in the Virtual Singer Fan Festival boosted Youthful/Friend's popularity even more, and our YouTube channel started getting a lot more subscribers! To keep up with our growing popularity, we decided to post even more fun content to the channel!
One night, I was brainstorming ideas in my room…when I suddenly remembered something I hadn't thought about for some time.
"Where is it", I asked as I scratched through my things. "Ah ha! Here it is!"
With this, I pulled out a notebook. "The list of one hundred things I wanted to do once I was back in school!"
Once I had the notebook, I sat by my desk and began reading through it. "It's been a while since I've looked through this thing. I wonder how many things on my list I've completed?"
I looked through the notebook to see what items on the list I had completed, and soon realised something that made me happy. "I've actually completed most of the list! I've only got…about twenty more things I still need to do! If I push it, I could finish this list before I finish my first year of high school!"
After I said this, I looked through the list to see what I still had to do, and one of the entries caught my attention. "Number 95. Make lots of fun memories and put them in a photo album."
When I read this entry, I immediately got an idea.
The next day after school, I was in the courtyard of Miyamasuzaka Girls' Academy with the other members of Youthful/Friends, and I was showing them my list.
"I'm impressed that you were able to actually think of one hundred things to put on your list, Saki", Airi said.
"That's because there were just so many things I wanted to do once I got out of the hospital", I said.
"I'm impressed that you managed to do most of the things on the list in only a few months", Ena said.
"I know, right", I said. "Now I've only got twenty's things I still need to do to complete the list! If I push it, I should be able to do them all before I finish my first year of high school!"
"That would actually make good content for our channel", Airi pointed out. "We can document your progress with finishing the list on there."
"That's exactly what I was thinking, Airi-Senpai", I said. "And while I'm finishing the list, I want to take photos of all the fun things I've done and put them into a photo album!"
"A photo album", Ena asked.
"Yep", I replied. "That way, I can cherish the previous memories I've made forever."
"Saki", Ichika started. "Would it be okay for us to finish your list with you?"
"You wanna finish the list with me", I asked excitedly.
"Of course", Ichika replied. "This list is import to you, Saki. I want to help you finish it."
"Ichi-Chan", I said, touched by her words.
"Ichika's right", Airi said. "Plus, we're going to be making content for our channel out of you finishing your list. So it only makes sense for us to help you with it."
"Airi's right", Ena agreed. "Let's finish this list together, Saki!"
"You guys", I said, touched by their words. "You are all the bestest band mates ever!"
"Saki", one girl suddenly called out as she waved to me. "Are you coming to practice or what?"
"Oh no", I said when I remembered something. "I totally forgot that I have soft tennis practice today! I have to go everyone! See you later!"
Airi's POV
We watched as Saki sped off towards her soft tennis teammates.
"Wait, Saki", Ichika called out to her as she held up an item she had left behind. "You forgot your notebook!"
"And…she's already gone", Ena said.
"That's okay", Ichika said. "I'll hold onto it and give it back to her tomorrow in class."
"Good idea", Ena said. "In the meantime, why don't we look through the list and see what entries still need to be finished?"
"Good idea", I said. "We can use that to plan how we'll go about completing all of the entries."
With this, we began looking through the notebook. While we were looking through it, one of the entries caught Ena's attention. "Look at this one. It says 'Go to a concert featuring my favourite idol.'"
"Favourite idol", Ichika said. "I think that would be you, Airi-Senpai?"
"I think so too", Ena said.
"Yeah", I said. Then, I began thinking about Saki.
"Back when I was in the hospital, there were many days when I was pretty down. My illness made me miss out on a lot things, and sometimes…I wondered if that was ever going to really change."
But you know what? When I would see Airi-Senpai on tv, it really cheered me up! And It made me hopeful that things would get better!"
When I thought about these words from Saki, I smiled.
Saki's words helped me realise that I was able to deliver hope even when I was on variety shows. She's actually helped me a lot, and…I want to thank her for that.
"I think I know how we can complete this item on the list."
