The ground team had gathered in the debriefing room of the Normandy. After returning to Port Hanshan from Peak-15, they had to pass through customs once again before getting to their ship.
There had been a small hassle with Flynn walking through the port holding a Matriarch's body, but Shepard had flashed her Spectre credentials to keep everyone out of their way.
Everyone discussed what had happened on Noveria, save for Liara who Jane had excused so that she could grieve her mother's passing in peace. The young Asari was currently in the med-bay where Benezia's body was being kept until they reached the Citadel.
"Sounds like things got pretty tense for you guys out there." said Kaiden when the team had finished explaining what they had been through.
"It was unexpected, but at least now we know what Saren was after." said the Commander. "And we have a lead on where he'll be going."
"I say we head for the Mu Relay." said Ashley.
Jane shook her head, "There wouldn't be a point. The Mu Relay could be linked to dozens of systems. Unless we know exactly where Saren is heading, we'd just be wasting our time."
"I hate to change the subject. But are we sure it was a good idea to release the Rachni Queen?" asked Tali. "I mean, after everything that happened during the war centuries ago…"
All eyes trailed to Flynn, who was sitting in his usual spot. His helmet on the floor beside him as he sharpened his Doom Blade with a whetstone. Ignoring the stares as Shepard spoke.
"He made the right call. This queen knew of the mistakes of their ancestors, I don't think they'll follow the same path. I would have made the same choice, I trust Flynn's judgement."
"If you say so, Skipper." said Ashley. Wrex snorted but didn't say anything.
The Commander stood, "This mission has taken a bit of a toll on all of us. We're headed back to the Citadel for the time being, so get some rest everyone. Dismissed."
Flynn retracted his blade and picked up his helmet as everyone began to file out. "Flynn!" the slayer glanced at Shepard, "Good work out there." He shrugged before stepping through the door.
Jane shook her head with a smile. "Noveria report's been sent, Commander. You want me to put you through to the Council?" asked Joker over the PA.
"Patch them through, Joker."

On his way to the elevator, Flynn paused before changing course. Heading instead to the medical bay. Entering the low-lit room, finding Dr. Chakwas absent from her usual post, he saw Liara in a chair beside one of the beds. Benezia's body was inside a black bag to keep it preserved for transport, unzipped so that her face was visible.
Setting his helmet on the other bed, the slayer pulled up another chair and sat opposite of the young Asari. The two of them sitting in silence.
"She looks peaceful." Liara said quietly, fresh tears visible on her blue cheeks. "The Commander said we were on our way to the Citadel. Members of the Asari Republic will be there to collect her, and take her back to Thessia for burial. Given what happened to her, and how it was not her will with what she had done, she will still be given honors for her service to our people."
She reached out and ran her hand over her mother's face. "In her last moments, even when she knew she was not long for this world, she seemed happy. Knowing that Saren could no longer control her." the archeologist's voice wavered, "We hadn't talked in so long...and her last words to me...were that she loved me, and was proud of me."
Flynn stood from his chair, came around the bed and knelt down beside Liara. Bringing her into his arms, her smaller body enveloped by his powerful one as she began to cry on his armored shoulder.
He couldn't remember the last time he comforted someone. It was hard to tell with only the thoughts of killing demons dominating his thoughts and actions. But Liara needed this, even though he had been the one to kill Benezia in the end, he felt she deserved to be held as she grieved.
"Thank you, Flynn." The young Asari said, but continued to hold him tightly. "I know this must feel strange to you, given what you are used to doing. But I greatly appreciate you being here with me."
The slayer nodded as Liara removed herself from him. Will you be okay? He signed.
"I will, in time." She admitted. "I also wanted to thank you for what you did for my mother. Even though you killed her, you freed her from Saren."
Had there been another way, I would have done it.
Liara nodded, "I know you would have. Despite your power and unyielding rage, there is a compassion deep within you. And I am honored to see it."
The slayer didn't respond, instead looking at Benezia's still form for a moment before signing. Tell me about her.
Blinking at the request, Liara smiled when she realized what he was trying to do. "We had a home on Thessia, in the city of Armali. It was near a park, she took me there often on sunny days and would be there for hours. She would lecture me for 'digging for ruins' in the grass, but she ended up getting me my first history books soon after."
The young Asari looked off to the side, lost in her memories. "My mother was confident and kind. She loved to wear yellow. And I always thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world." She closed her eyes and another tear escaped. "I miss her...there was so much left to say…"
Flynn pulled her into another embrace. Sending one last glance at the deceased Matriarch as her last wish replayed in his thoughts.
Despite the connection he already seemed to share with Liara, he would also honor the promise he had made.
With her head on the slayer's shoulder, Liara felt the all too familiar sense of safety and calm that she experienced whenever they were close. Powerful arms capable of breaking bones and rending flesh held her with such tenderness it made her heart flutter in her chest.
She recalled Shepards words from before and found herself wondering if there indeed was something there. A small part of her hoped that such a thing was possible, that she could share more of herself with Flynn, and for him to share more of himself with her.
For now however, she enjoyed the moment of comfort he was offering. Her grief at her mother's death lessening as time passed.
Outside the medbay, Chakwas watched them with a knowing smile on her face. Bringing the cup of warm tea to her lips and taking a drink, she turned and headed back to the mess hall, deciding to give them a bit more privacy for a little while longer.

In her personal quarters, Jane sat at her desk going over the few reports that had been sent her way. But they were the last things on her mind at the moment.
After the discussion with the Asari Councilor after she gave her debrief to the rest of the council, it was hard to focus on anything else;
X Two Hours Prior… X
"We will await your next report, Commander." The Turian Councilor said stiffly as he and the Salarian Councilor signed off. Shepard was quick to notice that the Asari Councilor was still there.
"Is there anything else I can help with, Councilor?" she asked.
Tevos nodded, "Yes, there is Commander. The Consort visited me some time ago and informed me of one of your 'recruits'." she emphasized with complete seriousness.
"You mean Flynn. Or as everyone knows him, The Slayer." said the Commander, just as serious.
"I take it Sha'ira informed you of our people's connection with him?" asked the Councilor.
"And then some. He also showed us where he had been and what he had been doing before arriving here." Jane replied. "It was...It still IS hard to process."
Tevos sighed, "In the many centuries I have been alive, I never once thought the stories I had been told in my youth would have so much truth to them. But to know the one who had not only saved the Asari, but had gained Athame's favor, is very much real and is currently in our world…" she shook her head.
"I have a serious request for you, Commander. One that is of personal nature that I ask that you not share with my fellow Councilors."
"What do you need, Ma'am?" asked Jane.
"I need to meet with him. In person." The Asari delegate stated, "What I wish to talk about cannot be said over distance, it must be done face to face. When you reach the Citadel, come to my office. An escort will be waiting upon your arrival. I cannot stress enough how important this is, and I will explain everything in private."
Shepard nodded, "We're on our way to the Citadel now. After we make sure Benezia's body is on its way to Thessia, we'll head straight to you."
Tevos sighed, "Thank you, Commander. I will see you when you arrive." With that the Councilor vanished, leaving the Commander alone.
X Present X
Jane rubbed her eyes. Even though the Asari Councilor was vague in her request, she couldn't hide the urgency.
It wasn't a surprise considering what had happened with the Consort that last time they were on the Citadel. And every Asari they encountered had similar reactions at various points so far, so whatever she needed to talk with them about was high priority. The Commander had a strong feeling that Flynn was going to get very popular very quickly.
Taking a deep breath, Shepard abandoned the reports she'd been trying to go over and left her quarters. Making her way to the elevator to let the slayer know what was going to happen when they arrived.
"Shepard." Jane stopped and looked back to see Garrus coming her way. "Heading to the mess?"
"Not yet. Heading to the lower deck to talk with Flynn. Someone wants to see him when we reach the Citadel." the red-head explained as they began walking together.
The detective hummed, "Given what happened the last time we were there, I'm going to assume another Asari higher up wants a sit down with everyone's favorite Hell-Walker?"
"Councilor Tevos." The Commander said, causing the Turian to pause for a brief second.
"Wow, jumped right to the top of the ladder. Any idea what she wanted to talk about?" asked Garrus.
Jane shook her head, "She was vague, but whatever it is, it's big. Flynn is a walking legend from when their faith essentially began. I can't say there might not be big waves being made with him being around."
"I almost pity the poor bastards that try to sway them to whatever cause they have in mind. He's not really the type to listen to orders...Well, unless they're from you." Garrus looked at the human woman beside him, "How did you manage that, by the way. It's been on my mind since he decided to join us."
"Honestly, I think I earned a bit of his respect." said Shepard. "I mean, he will go off and do whatever he feels needs to be done, but he'll pull his punches if I ask. Willing to meet me halfway on certain things at the least."
Garrus nodded in agreement as they entered the elevator and began the slow ride down to the cargo hold. His eyes trailed back to the woman standing next to him, subtly scanning down her form from her dark-red hair to her noticeably strong hips.
In Turian culture, two of the things most of his kind find attractive physically is one's fringe and waist. But as the years went by, Human/Turian relationships had begun to be less and less uncommon.
Personally, Garrus never courted anyone all that much. Always putting his job first. But that didn't stop him from hearing about other Turians he worked with in C-Sec had talked about Human partners they were seeing. Saying how different they were in comparison but no less appealing; like how hair was so much different from a fringe, or how their skin was softer.
He'd always put such things out of his mind...but after meeting Jane Shepard for the first time...he found it hard not to watch her more closely.
How she moved in combat, how she took charge and made such a strong presence wherever she stood. But his eyes would always trail back to her hair and hips, and every other curve her body had between the two.
It didn't take Garrus long to realize that he was becoming smitten with the Human Commander. And was doing all in his power to keep everything as professional as possible for the sake of the mission.
"Something on your mind, Garrus?" the Turian glanced up to see jade-colored eyes looking back with an eyebrow raised.
"Ah, no." he replied while clearing his throat and averting his gaze. "Just, lost in thought."
Jane faced forward as well, hiding a smirk. She knew that the detective had been keeping a rather close eye on her from time to time. The Commander was used to attention from those around her, either in the professional or the more personal sense. Many of that attention came from men, and even a few women. Although she wasn't always comfortable with it.
She'd dated in the past, both before and after joining the Alliance, but nothing seemed to stick. And she always seemed to put her military career ahead of her personal life which was a turn off in the biggest way.
However, Garrus was different. And not because he was another species. The long conversations they'd had together were comfortable, and she found it surprisingly easy to talk with him about anything. His sense of humor also had her laughing a time or two.
It didn't matter that he was a Turian, Jane enjoyed his company and actually looked forward to their talks. Knowing that he was looking at her so closely actually made her feel flattered that he seemed to find her attractive.
And, if she was honest, he wasn't too bad on the eyes either. And his skills with a sniper rifle put a lot of sharpshooters she'd known to shame.
The elevator door opened and the duo were met with loud cheers. Half the ship's crew seemed to be gathered in the cargo hold in a circle. And in the center of that circle was Flynn and Wrex. Both warriors naked from the waist up as they traded blows back and forth.
Wrex threw a strong right hook that the slayer blocked with his left forearm before delivering one of his own that connected hard with the side of the mercenary's chin. Sending spittle and orange blood spraying to the side before coming back with a shoulder tackle that barely moved Flynn from his spot.
"What's going on here?!" Shepard demanded. Causing several crewmen to stand upright at attention when they noticed she was there.
"Settling differences, Shepard! Stay out of it!" Wrex called back as he and Flynn grappled one another. The slayer used the Krogan's distraction to suddenly turn left and slam him to the deck, making several people wince.
Ashley made her way through the crowd and stood by the Commander, "They've been at this for almost an hour now. Surprised Taggart hasn't broken Wrex's neck yet."
"What started this?" asked Jane as she watched the two continue to fight.
"Wrex had issue with Flynn letting the Rachni go and decided the two of them should settle the 'Krogan way'." explained the Gunnery Chief.
Garrus nodded, "Yeah, figured as much. Had to break up several of these back on the Citadel. When two Krogan have a disagreement about something they respond one of two ways; they'll either slam headplates together until one backs down, or they'll fight it out."
Flynn delivered another hard punch to the side of Wrex's head before coming back with an uppercut that made his feet leave the deck. The slayer quickly snapped his foot up and kicked the merc in the chest with enough force to send him slamming into the side of a crate, leaving a massive dent in it in the process.
Spitting a glob of orange blood to the floor, Wrex got back to his feet and charged with a warcry. Flynn followed his example, minus the warcy, until they met in the middle. Their foreheads slamming together like two boulders, the impact making everyone spectating flinch.
Both combatants remained still for several long seconds. The Krogan smirked before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed to the deck, out cold.
Half the gathered crew groaned while the rest cheered, obviously having won the bet that had been going around since the fight began. Jane rubbed her eyes as the 'crowd' dispersed, Garrus going over to check on Wrex while the Commander went over to Flynn who was wiping the merc's blood off his forehead.
Wrex's headplate having not made a scratch on the slayer's hardened skin.
"I take it you won the argument?" she asked.
Flynn shrugged, By Krogan standards, yes. He signed just as Wrex came back to consciousness.
"Heh, that was fun." the mercenary said while rolling his neck. "Alright, I'll let it go. You hit a lot harder than I thought, Taggart. Mistake on my part. Still wouldn't mind another round sometime."
The slayer held up his hands and gave the 'come get it' motion. Shepard quickly got between them, "Enough, you two. We'll be at the Citadel soon and I don't need you guys leaving blood all over my cargo hold. So save it for later."
She turned to Flynn, "I need to talk to you, it's important." Tilting his head, the slayer led them to his corner where he started putting the top half of his armor back on. "I had a meeting with the Asari Councilor after I gave my debrief from Noveria. She wants an audience with you when we get to the Citadel." explained the Commander.
Flynn paused after clipping his gauntlets in place, casting a look at Shepard with a raised eyebrow.
"She didn't say what it was about, only that it was important and needed to be discussed in private." Jane said when she saw the questions in his eyes. "She also said there would be an escort to take us to her office upon arrival."
The slayer stared at her for another second before picking up his helmet and slipping it over his head, locking it in place. The last thing he wanted to do was deal with the politics of this universe, especially the Council with their knack of brushing things aside for the sake of saving face.
But with how the Asari have been acting around him due to his apparent legend among their culture. He was starting to miss killing demons. That was easier to deal with in his opinion.
Sighing deeply, Flynn rolled his shoulders and signed; Then we best not keep her waiting.

When the Normandy docked at the Citadel, the ground team was greeted with a group of a dozen Asari waiting for them. Eight of them being commandos, while the remaining four looked to be Matriarchs dressed in regal looking dresses and headpieces.
"They're here for my mother." Liara said softly as the commandos entered the ship and the Matriarchs approached her.
"We are sorry for your loss. We will be sure Lady Benezia receives the utmost care on our journey." said the lead Asari.
Liara nodded, "Thank you. Is there anything you require of me?"
"Not at this time. Your mother's affairs can be handled at a later date. For now we will take her back to Thessia and prepare for her burial." The commandos returned through the airlock, the bag containing Benezia's body being held between four of them on a stretcher while the other two stood guard on either side.
The Maiden looked on as they passed, her eyes shining with fresh tears. Flynn stood beside her, his hand reaching out and resting on her shoulder, bringing her some comfort as she reached her own hand up and rested it on his.
"You going to be okay, Liara?" Shepard asked gently.
Liara took a deep, steadying breath. "I will...in time. I'll handle any affairs I need to when Saren is dealt with. My mother deserves justice for what he did to her and countless others." determination flared in her blue eyes that was impossible to miss.
"Commander Shepard?" Everyone turned to see another Asari, this one in heavy armor bearing the insignia of the Spectres on her right shoulder guard. "Tela Vasir, Special Tactics and Reconnaissance. I've been asked to escort you to Councilor Tevos' office."
"She sent another Spectre?" asked Shepard, a bit surprised.
Vasir smirked, "She thought this assignment too important to leave to C-Sec. I have to admit, when word got around about the Humans finally getting a Spectre I was expecting something big. Heard a lot about you, Shepard."
The Commander crossed her arms, "Can't say the same, I'm afraid. Still new to the ranks."
"Better get used to it fast, you're hunting one of the best of us, after all." The Asari Spectre replied before Flynn walked up beside Shepard with Liara. "Ah, so this is the guy that's been making a lot of waves." she said, looking up at his visor as he stared back.
Her eyes trailed to the Night Sentinels sigil on his helmet and furrowed her brow-ridges. "Come on. The Counselor is waiting for us." She turned on her heel and started walking toward customs. Jane, Flynn and Liara following silently.
X
The journey to the Presidium tower was uneventful and silent, not that anyone was complaining.
After reaching the tower and riding the elevator to the proper floor, the group stepped out and entered the Asari embassy. Many Asari were moving about doing their day to day tasks, only to stop cold when they saw the new arrivals. Some had wide eyes when they saw Flynn come stomping through flanked by Jane and Liara with Vasir leading.
The Asari Spectre took them down a small corridor and stopped at a desk where a receptionist tensed at their arrival. "Here to see the Councilor. I have the VIP she requested to see." said Vasir.
"O-Of course, Ma'am." the other Asari stuttered as she pressed a switch on her desk. "Councilor, Spectre Vasir is here."
"Send them in. And hold all messages and calls for the next couple of hours." Tevos' voice responded almost immediately. The lock on the door switched to green and slid open, allowing them entry.
The office beyond was very spacious and had a handful of artwork of Asari origin on the walls. A large desk was situated near the farthest wall with an open balcony to the left that had an amazing view of the Presidium and the wards beyond.
Behind the desk, Tevos Araeus, representative of the Asari Republic and member of the galactic council, stood to address her guests.
"Commander, thank you for meeting me on such short notice." she said as she came around her desk.
"I didn't want to disappoint, ma'am." replied Shepard.
The Councilor turned her attention to Liara and gave a sad smile, "I am sorry to hear about your mother, Liara. She was an amazing person, and trusted friend. She will be honored for everything she's done for our people, regardless of what Saren forced her to do."
Liara gave a short bow, "Thank you, Councilor. Your words are greatly appreciated."
Finally, Tevos turned her gaze on the slayer. Like a lot of people, she had to crane her neck a little so their eyes could meet. Her posture became tense, eyes flickering every so often with too many emotions to count behind them. The two that stood out the most being curiosity, and fear.
"It is you…" she said in just above a whisper. "Even after everything Sha'ira shared with me, all the evidence, I still didn't want to completely believe."
The Councilor took a step away and gathered her thoughts. "Spectre Vasir, thank you for bringing them here. But this conversation is private."
Vasir looked to want to object, but thought better of it and bowed. "I'll be outside." with that she turned and left, the door locking behind her.
Tevos took a deep breath, "There is so much to explain, but I don't even know where to begin." she began, "Never once, even in my wildest fantasies, did I believe I would ever be standing in the same room as the slayer himself."
She turned her attention to the Commander and archeologist. "No doubt you already know a great deal about the slayer, and his meaning to the Asari."
"We've learned a lot, and seen even more." replied Shepard. "Liara filled in a few blanks for us."
"Then you must know what his appearance here represents." Tevos said with a grim seriousness. She brought up her omni-tool and projected a screen in front of her that had an image of what looked to be a page from a very old book. The words written on it were in a language that couldn't be understood, but the image that dominated the top half of the page was what caught everyone's attention.
Flynn stared at the image, taking in every detail. It was an old drawing that depicted him in his old Praetor armor standing on a pile of corpses, the demonic crucible clenched in his right hand with a horned skull held in the other.
At the base of the pile, a dozen people could be seen kneeling as if in prayer, and in the center of them was a taller being, clearly an Asari with a head crest that stretched down to her shoulders. Her hands clasped in front of her and her head bowed forward.
The final detail was at the top of the page in the center, where the mark of the Night Sentinels was boldly displayed. The Slayer's mark.
"This is written in ancient Asari…" Liara said in awe as she stepped closer to get a better look. "I've...I've never seen this before."
"Only a select few ever have." said Tevos. "This is the earliest record of the slayer, written by the first followers of Athame. Many have been made over the millenia, most altered or lost to the sands of time. But this here, it is where the legend began. The legend of a warrior that saved the Asari from extinction, but gained the respect and favor of the Goddess Athame."
Jane looked at the old text, also taking in the detailed description of Flynn. "No offense meant, Councilor. But we know the legend already. So this must mean there's more to this."
"There is, Commander." replied the Councilor. "You see, the only reason that this record is only known by so many is because of the warning it contains."
"A warning?" wondered Liara.
Tevos nodded and pointed at the ancient lettering, "You are right that this is written in the oldest language known to the Asari. It speaks of the day the slayer came to fight the scourge that intended to consume us, but it also speaks of what his reappearance would mean."
She took a deep breath before continuing, "Sha'ira gave you a brief induction when you spoke to her. It is said that should the slayer ever appear, then a great evil would soon follow. At first she and I believed that the same scourge that attacked us before would return...but then she reminded me of more recent events."
"Saren's betrayal. The Geth following him. The return of the ones who brought about the extinction of the Protheans...and now the slayer's arrival. This list of events has all been leading to only one outcome."
Shepard tensed, "Are you saying that there is a doomsday prophecy written around the slayer's legend?"
"Yes. I'm afraid that everything points to an extinction level event that will encompass us all. It is the reason why only those of the highest order of our people know the full truth, it is one of our most heavily guarded secrets that could cause mass panic." Tevos faced the slayer, "It is also one of the reasons I asked for you. It was written that should the slayer return, he would become the spear that pierces the heart of those that would bring about our extinction. And he would be the key to our salvation."
Flynn gave her an unblinking stare. The Councilor starred back, despite the shiver that went up her spine as his powerful aura bore down on her, she kept up a strong front.
"So the Council is taking the threat of the Reapers seriously?" asked Jane, breaking the impromptu starring match.
Tevo sighed and shook her head, "My fellow Councilors have already written off the idea of the Reapers as nothing more than propaganda Saren is using to sway the Geth and insight fear."
"They cannot be serious." Liara said, she and the Commander gobsmacked at the information.
"I'm afraid that without concrete proof they will refuse to budge on the matter, especially Sparatus." admitted the Asari Councilor. "And our religious texts are hardly compelling evidence to sway them either."
Shepard rubbed her eyes, "It's starting to seem like nothing will convince either of them of anything. At least you're willing to give us the benefit of the doubt." she glanced at Flynn, "Though we had to come with a living legend that lives up to the hype."
"There is another matter that needs to be discussed." Tevos stated, "It is no surprise that news of the slayer's appearance has begun to spread."
"We've noticed." Shepard said, recalling how nearly every Asari they've encountered reacted in a big way wherever they went when Flynn was near.
"Word has already reached Thessia and many influential Asari, some being high ranking members of our government." The Councilor continued. "I've been receiving invoices from officials across the system for an audience with the slayer. Some have even gone as far as to demand that I order to have him brought to our homeworld."
Flynn crossed his arms and grunted, anger and displeasure coming off him in waves. "I...don't think that is a good idea, Councilor." said Liara, knowing that anyone trying to force the slayer to do anything wouldn't end well for anyone.
"Believe me, I have no intention of forcing him to do anything. I highly doubt anyone has the power to do anything of that nature." Tevos said with her hands raised placatingly. "But I felt it necessary to inform you of what is happening from a political standpoint, as well as warn you that a lot of my people will be doing whatever they can to have him on their side...among other things."
Jane caught the tone shift, "Meaning?"
The Councilor sighed again, "There is no doubt of the slayer's power. It would be a safe assumption that his children would be just as powerful. Especially if one of those children was an Asari…"
Liara's back straightened, "Are you saying that other Asari hope to bond with him for the sake of having strong daughters?!" she said, her tone heated.
"A daughter of the slayer would be considered a symbol of the highest caliber among our people. It wouldn't be the first time someone of a higher position used procreation as a way to assume more power." said Tevos honestly.
Behind his visor, Flynn rolled his eyes. A large group of women trying to get into his pants? Wouldn't be the first time. It happened when he was still mortal back on Earth when he first stopped Hell, then again when he became the slayer and was sought after by the Argentian women.
"I'm pretty sure the big guy wouldn't be so easily swayed." said Shepard, having noticed Liara's change in mood regarding the subject.
"Which is why I am passing along the warning." said Tevos. "He may not need it, but it is to prevent as much bloodshed as possible should anyone try anything underhanded." Flynn cracked his knuckles loudly, making everyone in the room wince with each snap. The silent message was very clear. "Although I suppose that depends on who is trying to enforce their will upon him."
The Councilor checked the time on her omni-tool before pressing a few keys. The slayer's omni-tool chimed with a new message being received. "I know that you will be going your own way at some point. But I ask that you consider visiting Thessia at some point. Not for what I talked about before, but because there is something there you might find interesting."
Flynn raised an eyebrow and checked the message to see coordinates. "It is the location of a temple, the oldest structure on our planet. It is rumored to be built on the site where you wiped out the scourge, as a beacon to our race's gratitude for your aid. However it has never been opened, no matter what has been tried. It was said that only the slayer himself would be able to open the doors should he ever return."
The slayer closed his omni-tool down and nodded as the Councilor checked the time again. "I should be getting back to my duties. Thank you for coming on such short notice."
"It's not trouble, Councilor. I'll keep you updated on my mission." said Shepard as she, Liara and Flynn started to leave.
"Good luck, Slayer. Though I do not think you will need it." Tevos said mostly to herself as the door closed, leaving her alone.
Heading down the corridor to the main lobby of the embassy, the trio stopped in their tracks when they saw every Asari gathered together. Their eyes trained on Flynn.
Breathing out slowly, the slayer stepped forward. The gathered alien women parted like the red sea, giving him a wide berth while some of them clasped their hands and bowed their heads. Jane and Liara trailed behind him, the three of them reaching the elevator without trouble.
When the doors closed, the Asari dispersed and went back to work like nothing had happened. In a far corner, Tela Vasir leaned against the wall having watched the whole thing. Bringing up her omni-tool, she made a call;
"Hey, it's me. Send a message to the broker. Tell him I have something he will want to hear."
A/N: And the plot thickens evermore. Flynn's going to have his hands full for a while it would seem.
I've been going over the information I've been gathering for the future of this story and I've hit a bit of a roadblock. With Ancient Gods Part I and II now in the mix, I'm trying to find the best place to put them in the story. I'm stuck between having the DLCs happen during the two years between ME1 and ME2, or have them be the Slayer's "Loyalty Mission" during the events of ME2. If anyone out there has an idea, feel free to let me know.
Keep in mind that all ME DLCs will also be included when they are needed.
I'm back to my old self again, and am already working on the next installment. Stay safe out there folks!
