I do not own Wings of Fire, that credit goes Tui T. Sutherland; the Author of the series. I only own the OCs, Stone the Mudwing and Boar the Rainwing.

The four dragonets were walking away from the waterfall, heading to the diamond spray delta.

Clay: "What do we do now?"

Princess Tsunami: "Follow the river to the delta. We'll find your family when we get to the mud kingdom."

Clay: (My family…)

Glory: "The Skywings won't spot me from above, but what about the rest of you?"

Princess Tsunami: "Camouflage."

Sunny rolls in the mud, covering herself in it.

Sunny: "I feel all goopy!"

Clay: "You look just like the mud, though."

Princess Tsunami: "I know you're there, but I can't even see you."

Glory: "Ha. Swim underneath me and they won't be able to see you either."

Sunny gets on Clay's back. Glory changes her scales to camouflage with her surroundings. They get in the river and Tsunami swims underneath Glory.

Princess Tsunami: "I don't think anyone's following us."

They get out and go hunting.

Clay: "I caught us a pig!"

Sunny: "I found awesome carrots."

Princess Tsunami: "Are there dragons who eat those on purpose?"

They get back in the river.

Sunny: "I miss Starflight."

Clay: "Me too."

They get back out and come to a cliff.

Sunny: "Oh no…"

Below them, at the bottom of the cliff the ground was covered the dead bodies of Mudwings, Sandwings, and Icewings.

Glory: "This battle must have happened recently. Look, some of the fires are still burning."

Princess Tsunami: "Who do you think won?"

Sunny: "Nobody! Who could look at this and think "we won"?"

Clay: "We're on the edge of the Mud Kingdom now. I should go on alone."

Sunny: "You can't go in alone!"

Clay: "The Mudwings won't trust the four of us, all together."

Glory: "It's true. Especially Tsunami. The Seawings are on Blister's side."

Princess Tsunami: "And who knows what they'd think of Sunny?"

Clay: "If I don't come back by sunrise, come look for me."

Sunny: "What if you need us before then?"

Glory: "I'll go with you, Clay. No one would care I'm a Rainwing since they're not in the war. But, I can also do. This."

Glory changes her scales to various shades of dark brown and her eyes to green so she looks like a Mudwing.

Clay: "I think you're still too pretty to be a Mudwing."

Princess Tsunami: "Nonsense. You're just as pretty as, Glory, Clay."

Sunny: "Definitely."

Clay: "I'm not sure how to take that."

Princess Tsunami: "We'll wait by the river. Be safe."

Clay and Glory fly into the Mudwing village.

Glory: "There."

Clay: "Let's land and walk in."

They land and approach the group of Mudwings. The main Mudwing was male and has light brown scales.

Clay: "Can they see us?"

Glory: "Yes. They're just ignoring us."

Mudwing: "Turn! Turn! Left march!"

Glory: "Ahem."

Mudwing: "Keep practicing. Look, I'm sorry there's only two of you left. But we don't take unsibs."

Clay: "Unsibs?"

Glory: "We're just looking for someone. A Mudwing couple who lost an egg six years ago."

Mudwing: "A Mudwing couple?"

Glory: "There was a red egg. It was stolen from around here."

Mudwing: "Stolen!"

Glory: "Ok taken anyway? Maybe by a dragon named Asha?"

Mudwing: "Oh, you must be talking about Asha's sister Cattail. She had a blood egg about six years back."

Clay: "Cattail! Is she all right? Is she still alive?"

Mudwing : "Somehow. That has no discipline. They're down to four now."

Glory: "Where can we find her?"

Mudwing: "They bunk in the broken sleephouse at the end of the path."

Glory: "Thanks."

The Mudwing points them in the direction of the path.

Clay: "Cool snakes!"

Glory: "Mm."

Clay: "A frog!"

Clay pounces on it, but a Mudwing was in the mud.

Mudwing: "Watch it!"

Clay: "There's a dragon in there!"

Glory: "There's one there, too."

Clay: "Gosh, they look comfortable."

Glory: "I could never sleep in mud. My dreams would be full of mosquitoes and muck I could never wash off."

Clay: "Have you noticed no one's paying attention to us?"

Glory: "I have a theory about that. The scrolls we had on the Mudwings were never any good. But you see these groups of dragons flying around?

Clay sees a little male Mudwing dragonet with umber brown scale and yellow eyes, and a scar on the top of his snout. Clay waves at him, and the dragonet goes into the sleephouse.

Glory: "Maybe they're like army troops. Maybe that's what makes them such good fighters. Their army's made up of these small, loyal units."

They get to the end of the path, and find the broken sleephouse.

Glory: "This must be it. Hey! Anyone in there?"

?: "Whoosszat?"

A female Mudwing with Carmel brown scales and light brown eyes comes out.

Female Mudwing: "It's a pair of dragonets."

?: "Well, get rid of them!"

Clay: "I'm sorry—We didn't mean to be loud—We're looking for Cattail—."

Cattail: "Yes? What do want?"

Cattail comes completely out of the sleephouse.

Clay: "I…I, uh…"

Glory: "Are you Cattail?"

Cattail: "Yes. Who are you?"

Clay: "I'm Clay. I'm think I'm your son."

Cattail: "So?"

Clay: "I think you're my mother."

Cattail: "Those would seem connected. And?"

Glory: "You don't understand. This is the dragonet you lost six years ago."

Cattail: "I haven't lost any dragonets"

Glory: "He was in a blood-red egg—."

The moment Cattail hears this, she freezes.

Cattail: "You hatched from a blood egg?"

Clay: "Yes, I did."

Cattail just stares at Clay.

Clay: "Uh, are you ok?"

Cattail: "Hold still for a moment."

Clay: "Um, ok."

Cattail then breathes fire at Clay. The fire then died down.

Cattail: "No burn marks. Not a single one, wait here."

Cattail flies off.

Glory: "What was all that about?"

Clay: "I'm not sure."

Glory: "Look, she's coming back."

Clay: "There's another Mudwing with her. Whoa, he's huge."

Cattail and the large Mudwing land. The large Mudwing has gray-brown scales and amber eyes.

Large Mudwing: "Cattail, you dragged me over here for a pair of dragonets?"

Cattail: "They're not just any dragonets, Stone. This one hatched from a blood egg."

Stone: "A blood egg. Are you sure?"

Cattail: " I tested it myself, and as you can see he has no burn marks."

Stone: "You're—You're alive!"

Stone then hugs Clay.

Clay: "Who are you?"

Cattail: "Clay, this is your father; Stone."

Clay: "You're, my father?"

Stone: "Yes. Clay, huh. So that's what the talons of peace named you."

Clay: "Yeah. Is there something wrong with my name?"

Stone: "No. Clay is a good Mudwing name. I have no problems with it."

Cattail: "Neither do I."

Clay: "Mother, Father. What happened six years ago when my egg was taken?"

Cattail: "Well you see Clay, Mudwings don't really care about getting married or their dragonets. But your father and I were different. The moment we set on eyes on each other, it was love at first sight. The tribe has breeding nights once a month to keep the Mudwing tribe from going extinct. Normally no one really cares who is their partner for breeding nights, but your father and I did. A few weeks later, I laid seven eggs, I checked on them every once in awhile. When Asha saw the nest, and seen I had laid a blood egg. She wanted it for the prophecy. She offered to sell me two cows for your egg. She must've thought that I would simply hand it over. But she was surprised when I refused. She begged me time and time again to give her your egg. But I wouldn't give it to her, prophecy or not."

Stone: "But when Asha saw that she couldn't change Cattail's mind. That's when she resorted to stealing your egg. I had a feeling she might, so I hid myself near the nest and caught Asha in the act. We both chased after her but we couldn't catch her."

Cattail: "But now you're back, and you can meet your sibs."

Clay: "My sibs?"

Stone: "Speaking of which, here they come now."

Five dragonets fly over to them and land. Three were male and the other two were female. The little Mudwing that Clay saw earlier was with them.

Cattail: "Clay, these are your sibs. Reed, Sora, Pheasant, Marsh, and Umber."

Umber was the little Mudwing. Reed was the biggest of the five. (he was almost as big as Clay.) He had dark brown scales and orange eyes. Sora had dark brown scales and green eyes. Pheasant had light brown scales and yellow eyes. And Marsh had orange light scales and yellow eyes.

Clay: "Sib…? Sibling? Is that what you mean? Were we in the same hatching?"

Umber: "I knew it! I knew he felt familiar! I told you!"

Reed: "Your our brother. You should have been with us all along."

Pheasant: "He's not just our brother. Look at the size of him! He should be our bigwings."

Reed: "Oh. That's true."

Clay: "Er… What's a bigwings?"

Reed: "The first hatched from a clutch of Mudwing eggs is always the biggest."

Umber: "That's why he's the bigwings!"

Reed: "The first thing a bigwings dose is help his sibs hatch by cracking open their shells?"

Glory: "Clay! You know what this means? You didn't try to kill us. You were helping us!"

Clay: "I was…?"

Umber is rolling around in the mud.

Umber: "Then the bigwings takes care of everyone! Some bigwings are mean or bossy, but Reed's great. We hunt together, we sleep together, we fight together… Oh, sorry…"

Umber gets out, and Clay's sibs and his parents look sad.

Clay: "Did you— Did we lose someone?"

Reed: "Our sister. Crane."

Pheasant: "Two days ago in the battle by the river."

Clay: (One of those dragons was my sister.)

Reed: "I was not the bigwings I wanted to be."

Pheasant: "You were amazing, Reed."

Marsh: "We'd all be dead if it weren't for you."

Reed: "But it's all right now. Because you're back, and you can be our bigwings."

(Clay's good thoughts )

Umber: "Race you to that tree!"

Clay was protecting his sibs from a fire breathe attack.

Clay: "It's okay! I'm fireproof?"

Training with his sibs.

Clay: "A Skywing taught me this. They'll never see it coming."

Happily sleeping together with his sibs.

(Clay's negative thoughts)

Leaving his friends.

Glory: "Good-bye, Clay."

Starflight: "We'll probably never see each other again."

Reed: "How are going to lead us if you've never been in a battle."

His sibs dying except Umber.

Umber: "Don't be sad! It's not your fault you didn't know what to do."

(End of thoughts)

Clay: "Reed… You're their bigwings. I couldn't replace you even if I tried."

Glory: "Besides! He can't stay with you. He's our bigwings."

Reed: "Are you sure?"

Clay: "I'm afraid I have a destiny. We're going to try to stop the war."

Umber: "The prophecy? That's you?"

Clay: "That's us."

Glory: "More or less."

Cattail: "Of course. Why do you think your aunt Asha stole him in the first place? And speaking of Asha, where is she? I have the right to give her a piece of my mind for stealing my egg."

Clay: "She's… She's dead."

Cattail: "Dead! How?"

Clay: "She died after she deliver my egg."

Cattail: "(sighs) First I lose Crane, and now I've lost my sister. But at least I know that you're all right, Clay: "Maybe once the war is over… I could come back?"

Umber: "Yes Yes Yes!"

Reed: "You're one of us. Come back anytime."

They fly back to Sunny and Tsunami. And Starflight was with them.

Sunny: "There they are."

Clay and Glory land.

Clay: "Starflight!"

Starflight: "…Glory?"

Glory: "Oh—."

Glory changes her scales back to their normal colors.

Glory: "Yup. It's me."

Sunny: "Morrowseer just dropped him on us from the sky. Isn't that great?"

Princess Tsunami: "Nightwings. Ever so helpful and never infuriatingly cryptic at all."

Starflight: "I tried to make him bring me back right away, but he wouldn't let me go. He said they couldn't afford to lose any Nightwings, even "peculiar little ones."

Sunny: "You're not peculiar! I'm the one who's peculiar."

Princess Tsunami: "What did you learn in the Mud Kingdom? Did you meet Clay's mother?"

Glory: "The important thing we learned is that Clay wasn't trying to kill our eggs. He was trying to help us hatch!"

Princess Tsunami: "I never thought you were trying to kill us."

Sunny jumps on Clay.

Sunny: "As if you ever would!"

Starflight: "It did seem unlikely."

Clay: "Well, I don't know that."

Glory: "So what now, bigwings?"

Clay: "We'll be like the Mudwings."

They all come together for a group hug. Glory scales are now various shades of pink.

Clay: "We stick together. No matter what happens."
