Please don't leave me!
Right after fighting the omnidroid, Dash was troubled with thoughts. And the person who wants to help him the most is the reason for those thoughts. Even worse: It's his sister Violet. He sees her getting injured or killed everytime he closes his eyes. How will things turn out? And what could a strange new villain have to do with everything? They will have to find out…
Chapter 1: The Motel
The stars in the sky shone brightly this evening. It was a beautiful night. Like a calming ocean after a big thunderstorm. A family of superheroes known as the Incredibles has defeated a big robot named the omnidroid earlier this afternoon. But when they aren't fighting crime, they are just a normal family consisting of five people. Bob Parr or else known as Mister Incredible, who has incredible strength. His wife Helen Parr or Elastigirl, who can stretch her arms and legs or even transform herself to resemble something like a parachute. Those two are the parents of three children. The eldest, Violet, is a shy girl that can turn invisible and create powerful forcefields. Her younger brother, Dash, has the power to run at incredible speed. He is also the opposite of Violet as he loves when attention is solely on him. And the last member of the family is their baby brother Jack-Jack who has no powers.
After the fight this afternoon, the family had to save Jack-Jack from the crazy villain who build the robot. He wanted to kidnap the baby as part of his revenge against Mr Incredible who treated him unfair fifteen years ago. When the Incredibles succeeded in defeating him for good by making his jet explode, it landed on their house making them have to move again. Joy.
Their friend from the NSA, Rick Dicker, managed to find them a place to stay in. A motel where they could stay in for a few months until they have found a new home to live in. It was a cozy motel with a nice pool outside, where Helen and Bob sat and watched the night sky in awe. It was a very hard day for them all. They had to risk their lives several times to save each other and at the end they lost their home. It was especially hard for Dash. They could tell. He was very quiet the whole time after the events with the omnidroid.
After a few more minutes the family came together for lunch. Violet and Dash barely touched it. When Helen watched them both she got worried. She knew Violet didn't eat much and that she was never a big fan of meatloaf but Dash wasn't like that normally. But things were different now. Laying a hand on her son's shoulder, Helen wore a small smile.
"Is everything okay Dash? You barely touched your food" She said.
As an answer, Dash just faced his mother who sat next to him. Then he turned his head forward, looking at his sister. Violet's long, bluish-black hair covered her right eye while Dash saw her left eye being fixated on a piece of broccoli on her plate she pushed back and forth with her fork, a bored expression on her face. His gaze fell onto his own plate again.
"It's nothing mom, I'm just not hungry. May I be excused? I would like to go into my room." He answered.
Still smiling, Helen knew it would be best to just let him go for now. But there was a little problem.
"Of course, honey. But… as this motel isn't the biggest, you'll have to share a room with your sister. Jack-Jack will stay with us." Helen explained to him.
What came next was extremely unexpected. Dash just stood up and nodded.
"Okay."
Then he left. After he closed the door to his and Violet's room, Helen faced her daughter who still played with the broccoli. Something wasn't right.
"Violet?"
Looking at her mother, Violet lay down the fork.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"Do you know if there is something that bothers Dash?"
The worried tone in her mom's voice made Violet a little concerned.
"No, I don't. He seemed to have a blast the whole day. Maybe he's really just not hungry. Or he's tired after all that." Violet answered after thinking about it for a moment.
"Maybe you're right. It would still be good if you would be there for him if he needs you, okay? Maybe you can look out for each other when you share a room" Helen asked with a sad look on her face.
That last part was what made Violet's eyes widen.
"Share a room?!" She was so deep in her own thoughts that she didn't hear her mother tell them earlier.
"Yes. As I said. This motel does not have enough rooms for everyone to have one. Jack-Jack will stay with me and your father. You will have to share your room with Dash. I don't want there to be any trouble." Her mother repeated.
Dash was laying in his bed when he suddenly heard the door open and winced.
"Calm down. It's just me." Violet said.
She walked in and closed the door after her. When she looked around the room, she saw her bed being a good two meters away from Dash's. Both of them had bedside tables and in between there was a big flower standing close to the wall. Violet sat down on her bed and faced her brother whose gaze was fixated on the ceiling.
"Listen Dash. As we have to share this room we need to separate it. You see that flower over there? That's where the separation line is. Stay on your side at night, okay?" She looked at him with a serious expression while saying that.
Dash turned his face to look at his sister and nodded slowly before looking at the ceiling again. Violet noticed something wasn't right. Normally there would have been arguing. But not now.
When both of them were finished getting ready for bed, Violet bit her lip and went to her brother, sitting down on his bed before taking a deep breath. 'Here goes nothing' she thought.
"Is everything okay Dash? You seem to be sad. You know you can talk to me, right?" She began, hoping there would be an explanation to Dash's strange behaviour.
Surprised by what she said, Dash's eyes widened when his eyes locked with hers. But he couldn't tell her. Actually, he could tell everyone BUT her. Because the thoughts that bothered him were thoughts about her. Thoughts about her getting injured or killed. With a sad smile he managed to answer her
"I know I can. Thanks. But everything is okay. I'm just… tired."
Not convinced at all but returning the smile, Violet got up and walked over to her own bed.
"Okay then. Good night, Dash."
"Good night, Violet."
And with that, Violet turned off the light. The only problem now is that dreams are made of thoughts. And with bad thoughts come bad dreams…
