Now for the moment you've all been waiting for.
Takumi got out of bed the next morning early. "This is it." He said as he got dressed and pulled his single glove on. "The big day." He grabbed his goggles and put them on to look at his Digimon. "Ready to go to work?"
"Like you had to ask." BlackWarGreymon replied.
"We're with you until the end." Dorugoramon added.
"We'll save the Digital World together." Rapidmon Armor said. "But first we must find Ami."
Takumi nodded and stepped out of his room. "Mom, I- He looked around, but she was gone. "Mom?" He looked around the apartment and soon found a note on the coffee table.
Takumi
I had some errands to run and won't be back before you leave for the EDEN event. I'm sorry for not being here to see you off, but I look forward to seeing you again when you get back. Just know that everything will be alright here.
Love always, your mother.
"That's rather…disappointing." Rapidmon Armor said. "Was this really so important she couldn't give her son a proper goodbye?"
"It's fine." Takumi put the note down. "Honestly…it'd be hard to leave if she was here…"
"Takumi…"
"If you're not going to tell her what you're really up to, you better make it back in one piece." Dorugoramon said.
"Yeah…" Takumi muttered. "Well, I better eat something before I go to Kyoko. It's a long way to Roppongi."
"Already?" Rapidmon Armor asked. "It's still early."
"I asked Kyoko if we could make a stop along the way."
Kyoko leaned against her car on a road near a grassy green hill. In front of her were graves. She folded her arms and watched solemnly as Takumi walked up the hill with a bouquet in his hands. After he came to the detective agency Kyoko drove him straight here.
Takumi stood in front of a grave labeled Takiyo Aiba. He stood quietly as the wind blew by. "Hey dad. I'm back again." He laid the flowers down on the gravestone. "Last time I was here I just kept apologizing. Saying I failed to keep my promise to you. But Ami is not gone. She's just missing out there…in the Digital World. And I'm going to find her. I swear this to you, father."
After a couple minutes of silence, Takumi's googles displayed his Digimon. "So, this is your father…" BlackWarGreymon said.
"It's where we buried him after he died in an accident."
"So…humans don't get reborn like us Digimon, right?" Dorugoramon asked.
"I…I don't know. Some say they do. Some say we rest forever. I won't know until I…"
"Don't say it." Rapidmon Armor said.
"Right…sorry." Takumi looked back at the grave. "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. We're going to solve this case together."
"I know." Dorugoramon said. "And that's because we'll protect you."
Kyoko approached. "Sorry to cut this short, but we should get going soon if we want to get to Roppongi on time."
"Coming." Takumi turned around to leave. He stopped and glanced at the grave one last time. "See you later dad. Next time you see me I'll come back with Ami. I promise." He walked back to Kyoko who waited in the car.
After visiting the gravesight, Kyoko drove Takumi straight to the Roppongi Underground Center. At the moment, Yuuko, Yuugo, Arata, Keisuke, Nokia and Satoru were there with a few scientists. In front of them was the special terminal, now with six seats in a hexagon shape.
"Once Takumi is there, we'll have all of you log in." Satoru said.
Nokia was tapping her foot. "Ugh! I know the agency isn't exactly close to Roppongi, but why are we waiting so long for him?!"
Yuugo looked at his Digivice. "Nokia, it's only 12:40. We just showed up early."
"Yeah, but still!"
Satoru sighed. "So…this is it." He looked at his daughter and son. "You're really going."
"I'm sorry father, but we need to do this." Yuuko replied. "We owe it to the Digital World, and we can't abandon Ami."
"I understand. You two are old enough to make your own decisions…just promise me you won't be reckless."
"We won't." the twins replied.
Soon they heard footsteps. "Is that Takumi?" Keisuke asked.
Soon someone walked out of the dark corridor. "Hey Takumi!" Nokia said. "Took you long…wait, what?"
Neither Kyoko nor Takumi came out. It was a woman with glasses. She looked at the people in the room and chuckled. "Guess I'm in the right place."
"Uh…who are you and what are you doing here?" Keisuke asked. "Is this one of your scientists Mr. Kamishiro?"
The man just looked at her in shock. "It's you…!"
The woman smiled and bowed her head slightly. "Satoru Kamishiro, it's been a long time."
Yuuko looked at Satoru. "Father, who is this woman?"
"She's…" Satoru heard more footsteps. "Wait, someone else is coming."
Takumi walked into the room alongside Kyoko with a carefree wave. "Hey guys, I- He froze in place when he saw the unexpected guest in the room. "…mom…?"
Yukino smiled at him. "Hey son."
"You're Takumi's mother?" Yuugo asked.
"Mom…what are you doing here?!" Takumi asked.
"I came to see you off…before you depart on your journey to save your sister."
"You know about that?" Keisuke asked before looking at Takumi. "I thought you weren't planning to tell her."
"I wasn't!" Takumi replied.
Yukino smirked. "Well, let's just say I'm not the only women in this room who's concerned for your wellbeing."
The pieces came together. "Kyoko!" Takumi looked at his mentor with a look of shock and even betrayal. "You promised me you wouldn't tell her!"
Kyoko folded her arms. "What I promised you was that I wouldn't say a word to her about what you're up to." She then gave a sly grin. "I never promised anything about not sending her an email about it." She then gave her assistant a stern expression. "More importantly, don't you think she deserves to know? You said you didn't want to worry her, but isn't it also going to worry her if her son disappeared without her knowing where he will be or what he will do?"
"Takumi…" Everyone's attention was brought back to Yukino. "To be honest I should be very cross with you for trying to hide something like this from me before you leave."
Takumi sighed. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Honestly given how…complicated and bizarre this situation is, I don't blame you for not knowing how to explain any of this. I mean, Digimon? Another world? Reality changing? I thought Kyoko was messing with me at first until she called your friend Arata over to show me his Digimon."
"You were in on this?" Takumi asked his friend.
Arata smirked. "You should have seen the look on her face when she saw Diaboromon."
"Takumi…" Yukino walked over and ran a hand through her son's hair. "You and Ami are my pride and joy, nothing in this world matters more to me then you two. Yet I had no idea you two had been put through so much. Honestly…I wish it could have been someone other than you two. I wish for a lot of things. Part of me wishes you would stay here and let the others handle this and bring back your sister, but I know that's completely selfish. Besides, you'd never be able to live with yourself if you sat around while others fought your battles. So, despite my deepest wishes…I won't stop you from doing this. I'm sure your father would want it this way."
"Mom…"
Yukino looked away with a hand at the back of her neck. "You've become so much like him. I know better than to think you can be talked out of something once your mind is set on it." She then smiled at him. "But you better come back alive, you got it? Save Ami. Do what you have to do. Stay with your friends, and don't ever give up. And most importantly, survive this to come home to me."
Takumi smiled and nodded. "Right." He then heard his Digivice ping and put it on.
"Takumi, let us talk to her for a moment."
Takumi pressed a button, and his goggles projected his three Digimon. "So, you're the Digimon that have been with my son." Yukino said.
Rapidmon Armor nodded. "Yes. It is an honor to finally meet you miss Aiba. Takumi and Ami always spoke fondly of you."
"Mom, this is Rapidmon Armor, BlackWarGreymon, and Dorugoramon. My partners."
Yukino smiled. "The honor is all mine. Thank you for taking care of my son."
"Heh. I'd say he was the one taking care of us." Dorugoramon replied.
Yukino giggled. "I've been aware of the Digital Monster app for a while. It's kind of a hot topic. People call it a perfect pet simulation. But Arata insists that Takumi views you three as much more then pets both before you changed the world and after. He says Takumi thinks of Digimon as equals to humans. You three in particular are close friends to him. Maybe even brothers."
"Brothers, huh?" BlackWarGreymon looked at Takumi. "I can't say for sure if that is the case. Most Digimon don't have families. But…If I were to have someone to call a brother, Takumi would be my first choice."
"Same here." Rapidmon added. Dorugoramon nodded.
"I see." Yukino replied. "Do Ami and her Digimon feel the same way?"
"Yes, of course."
"Hmm." Yukino nodded. "Takumi…you and Ami have made good friends." She looked back at Arata and the others. "I can't stop you if you want to help out your friends, can I?"
"Yukino." Rapidmon Armor said. "The three of us swear to make sure Takumi and Ami return to you in one piece. I am ready to lay down my life to ensure that happens."
"We all are." Dorugoramon replied.
"Well not to shoot you down…" Takumi grinned. "But you three aren't allowed to die on me. Like I said, we're solving this together. All of us."
Takumi's Digimon laughed. "Well, if you insist." Rapidmon Armor said. "But rest assured Yukino, we won't let anything happen to him."
"Thank you." Yukino walked over and hugged Takumi. "I'm really proud of you Takumi."
Takumi smiled and hugged her back. "Thank you, mom. Don't worry, we'll be fine."
Satoru folded his arms and smiled. "She's one hell of a mother."
"She sure is." Keisuke grinned.
When mother and son parted, Yukino patted Takumi on the shoulder. Kyoko then walked over to them. "Don't worry about things in the agency." Kyoko said. "I can manage without you and Ami for a bit."
"What about the case Yuuko assigned us?" Takumi asked.
"Matayoshi's going to help me through it." Kyoko turned to Yuuko. "We'll find out what happened to her Yuuko. In the meantime, please find my other assistant for me."
"Of course." Yuuko nodded. "And I'll look after Takumi too, so don't worry."
"Appreciate it." Kyoko smiled at Takumi then ruffled his hair. "Make sure you and your sister come back, you hear? It's far too quiet in the agency without my young energetic assistants."
Takumi nodded. "Right!"
Kyoko giggled. "I have to say I'm a little jealous you get to go on this adventure. I look forward to hearing all about it from you two when you get back."
"Now I can't tell which one's the mom here." Arata whispered. Nokia giggled.
Takumi then walked over to the others. "Sounds like we're good to go!" a woman's aid approaching the group. Takumi was taken aback a bit when he saw Rie Kishibe. He knew the woman was alive and reformed after the world changed but he was still surprised-maybe even a bit unnerved to see her. "Everyone is here!"
"So how does this work again?" Nokia asked.
"Upon logging into this terminal, all of your avatars will be updated with the adjustments Omegamon instructed for us." Satoru explained. "Then all off you will go to Kawloon Level 1."
Omegamon was projected from Nokia's Digivice. "Kawloon Level 1. That area is where Takumi and Ami opened the gate before. It's where we made our way to you from Connect Jungle. So, it will be easier for me to use my power to get us back from there. Once we're there, I will send my friend the signal to unleash his power for us to follow once I open the rift."
"Alright." Yuugo said. "If everyone's ready I say we should head out now." The others nodded.
"Alright!" Rie cheered. "Take a seat everyone! Oh! And don't worry about your bodies! We'll have a team of doctors and technicians here 24/7 looking after you!"
"Thanks." Yuugo said. Keisuke put on his visor and leaned back into one of the seats. Yuuko, Yuugo, Arata and Nokia followed.
"Takumi!" Takumi turned around when his mother called. "Good luck. Stay safe out there!"
"I will." Takumi smiled. "And I'll be back with Ami soon! I promise!" He put on his goggles and hurried over to the last seat. Once all of them were in headpieces lowered over their eyes.
The scientists went to their stations. "Link with EDEN is established." One of them said.
"Backup generators are up!"
"Security protocols enabled!"
"Systems are green!"
"Update is ready!"
"We're all clear!"
Satoru nodded. "Yuuko, Yuugo, all of you…take care. Begin log in!"
Takumi saw a bright light. He could feel his consciousness being transferred as normal. But as he did his body felt fuzzy. He assumed this was the alterations to his avatar. Soon he and his friends were flying over EDEN. The six of them were soon floating towards its dark depths known as Kawloon. After flying through it they found their way to Junk Park and landed. "Here we are." Yuugo said. Their Digimon appeared with them. They walked to the center.
"So, wait…if the Next Order is waiting for us…won't they be right there where we're going to land and attack the moment we set foot in the Digital World?" Keisuke asked.
"Actually, I thought about that." Takumi then went on to explain his idea as Omegamon opened a monitor and started typing a message.
"I see." Yuuko smiled. "Takumi, that's brilliant."
"Let's just hope it will work in the Digital World." Takumi said. He then opened a menu. "Arata, Keisuke and I have access to the program. Yuuko, Yuugo, Nokia, I'm sending it to your Digivices."
Omegamon stepped forward. "This is it everyone. Once I send my comrade the signal, we're departing immediately. I just want to make absolutely sure you are all ready and willing."
"Of course, we are!" Nokia grinned. "Ask me a trillion time, my answer ain't changing!"
"No way are we running away from this." Arata said.
"I might not have a Digimon, but I'll still do everything in my power to help." Yuugo said.
"I wouldn't forgive myself if I stayed behind for this." Yuuko added.
"Erika has always been there to help me." Keisuke said. "It's time I repaid the favor."
Takumi smiled. "With all of us together, I know we can pull this off." He closed his eyes. "Hold on Ami. We're coming for you."
Omegamon nodded and sent his message before closing his monitor. "Stand back." Everyone stepped back. Omegamon reeled an arm back and closed his eyes. He gathered his power and soon swung his sword cutting open a rift. "I can feel my friend's power. Let us be off."
"Right." Takumi nodded. "Let's go guys! To the Digital World!" The all jumped inside on by one.
As they flowed through the tunnel of light, they all looked around. "This brings back memories." Yuuko said.
"Sure does." Arata said.
Keisuke looked around. "Yeah. This is where I last saw her…Heh. She told me we would meet again. Now that it's happening…"
Takumi smiled. "I'm sure she'll be happy to see you again Keisuke."
Omegamon was leading the way. "Here we are!" They soon reached the end, and everything turned white.
When the team could see again, they were standing in an area surrounded by trees. "Whoa!" Keisuke gasped.
"We made it." Rapidmon Armor said. "We're back in Connect Jungle. It worked."
"So, this is the Digital World." Keisuke said.
"Greetings friends." Everyone looked in front of them to see a metallic Digimon in green armor with red and blue shoulders that looked like heads. He bowed. "Welcome to the Digital World."
Omegamon nodded. "Well done, HiAndromon." He turned to everyone. "This is HiAndromon. He is a member of Sleuth's Will. Gankoomon sent him to my team to help with our plan."
"HiAndromon?" Yuugo asked. "Wait…something seems familiar about this guy…"
The Digimon turned to him. "It has been a long time Yuugo. When we last met, I was a mere Hagurumon."
Yuugo gasped. "Hagurumon?! Is that you?!"
"It is a pleasure to see all of you again." He looked at Keisuke. "And you must be Keisuke Amasawa."
"How do you know Keisuke?" PileVolcamon asked.
"I've been monitoring you with a special link I have been establishing with Omegamon ever since he left for your world."
"Guys, let's finish this conversation elsewhere." Diaboromon said. "We're out in the open here and the Next Order has troops everywhere."
"Indeed." HiAndromon said looking around. "In fact, they have surrounded me before you arrived, thought they seem to think I haven't noticed them."
"Wait, what?" Samudramon asked.
"Tch." A bunch of Centarumon rose form the bushes and trees around the team and took aim at the party. "Freeze!"
Everyone looked around frightened. "Well, crap." Arata muttered.
"The Digital World belongs to King Leopardmon! Humans like you are unwelcome here, turn back!"
"King" Leopardmon?" BlackWarGreymon muttered. "Give me a break."
Takumi nodded to his friends who nodded back. "I repeat!" one of the Centarumon yelled. "Turn back now or we will open fire!"
"The Next Order is done calling the shots here!" Nokia declared. "We're not just going to let you and that jerk Leopardmon bully other Digimon anymore!"
"Then you can die right here!" The Centarumon's hands glowed. "Solar Ray!"
Omnimon, Samudramon, PileVolcamon, BlackWarGreymon, TyrantKabuterimon and Dorugoramon surrounded the party and tanked the attacks. Rapidmon flew above them. "Shinning Laser!" He fired wildly while spinning around making the Centarumon back up.
"Now!" Takumi shouted. Everyone opened a monitor and pressed something.
When the dust settled the Centarumon looked back towards the kids and their Digimon. "What the-Where did they go?!"
"They were just here and in a split second they vanished!"
"Well, they couldn't have gone far!" The leader said. "Search the jungle! Find those brats!"
"Yes sir!" All of them scattered.
Takumi waited a bit before speaking up. "I think we're clear." Everyone opened their menus and with one input reappeared. "Looks like the Stealth Hide works just fine here."
"Good thing too, this'll definitely come in handy." Keisuke grinned.
"It may have fooled the Centarumon, but I doubt it will deceive all Digimon." Rapidmon Armor said.
Takumi looked up and saw a mountain in the distance. "That mountain…" Everyone looked at it. "Gankoomon said it was called Infinity Mountain."
"That's where we found the Mother Eater." Yuuko said.
"Yes, it is where King Drasil resided in the past." Omegamon nodded. "…But my king is no more. There is nothing there now."
Everyone stared at the mountain in uncomfortable silence before MetalSeadramon spoke. "In any case, now is our chance to get to the hideout of Rebel's Heart."
"Right." Nokia nodded. "Lead the way Omegamon!"
"Of course. Follow me." Omegamon turned around hurried ahead through the jungle's overgrowth.
"Try not to get lost." Diaboromon said before he and the others followed.
Inside a hut a few Tamers and a bunch of Digimon gathered. "We're ready to open the gate to this parallel Digital World." Taomon said.
"Alright, I'm ready." the boy with blueish hair with a light blue streak, black pants, white and blue shoes, a red and black shirt, goggles around his neck and a white opened coat said. Around his left wrist was a red gadget.
The young man in blue and white with light brown hair chuckled. He had brown pants and shoes and a bluish top with white short sleeves and collar. "That's Takuto for you. Always eager for adventure."
"Kouta, it's not like this is a game." A girl with purple hair said. She had a pink headband and belt, a purple and white top, white short shorts, white thigh high stockings with a purple cat print and brown boots on.
"Himari's right." A teen with blond hair wearing a heavy black goat with a green zipper. He had baggy black pants, black shoes with a green edge and matching headphones. "We have an important mission to do."
"We know, Shoma." a man with a beanie cap replied. "And that's why we won't lose."
"Ever the optamist, Mameo." A hologram of a woman with purple hair was on her laptop. "The connection seems stable. We should be ready to open a wormhole."
"Are you sure this will work?" a Taomon asked.
"Absolutely. Mastemon did this before by herself when she first Digivolved." The woman then smiled. "In fact, the humans who provided me the necessities to do so were connected to the Digital World you're going to. Destiny can be amusing at times."
"So, what kind of place is this other Digital World anyway?" a small blond girl in a white dress with sandals holding a Numemon doll.
The woman pushed up her glasses. "Not much to tell to be honest. As I said the before events in that world caused it to transform. So, my ability to see into it has been compromised."
"When you say "transformed" what do you mean exactly?" Kouta asked.
"Well, it's a long story, but to put it simply there was an incident eight years ago that gave birth to a form of creatures that ravaged that world. Then six humans went to that Digital World and "rebooted" it along with their human world, to a state where the incident never happened."
"Okay, "rebooting" seems possible for the Digital World." Himari said. "But a human world being rebooted? Is that even possible?"
"It is for two particular people in that group. Their powers eclipse even mine." The hologram then smirked at Takuto. "I dare say they may even rival you and your sister."
"Even them?" Shoma asked. "I find that hard to believe."
A Digimon half black and half white with bat and angel wings appeared. "We are ready to open the gate."
"Excellent." The woman typed on her laptop. "Still…we rarely ever attempt to link parallel worlds unless absolutely necessary…for one to invade another like this…it's unheard of. I have a bad feeling about this."
Takuto shook his head. "Well, if they are invading our Digital World we can't just wait for them to do it again! And besides…I can't just leave my sister hanging!"
"Yeah!" The little blond girl cheered. "We'll go teach the bad guys a lesson they won't forget!"
Shoma looked at her. "Luche, I think it would be best for you to stay here."
"No! I wanna help!" the girl pouted.
"I know you do Luche, but this is far more dangerous than any of us can imagine." Himari said. "We don't know anything about this Digital World."
"But…but…"
Takuto knelled down. "Listen Luche, as much as I'd like to have you with us, somebody's gotta look after Flotia. I man with so much of us gone, who are the Digimon here going to rely on?"
"Takuto's got a point." Mameo grinned. "Besides, there's no guarantee those guys won't come back while we're gone. Someone should stay here to protect everyone."
"Huh? Well, I guess that's true." the girl said. "But are you sure?"
"Totally!" Takuto smiled. "I know you got this Luche."
"Okay! I'll do my best!"
"Well, if that's all settled, I suggest we get started." A Kazuhamon leaning against the wall said before stepping forward.
Taomon nodded. "Agreed. We'll open the portal outside the city. The same spot where we opened the one to the Singular Zone."
"Sounds like a plan." Kouta nodded.
Takuto looked at a elderly Digimon. "Well, Jijimon…I guess we won't be seeing each other for a while."
The Digimon stroked his beard. "Don't you worry about a thing here. You just find your sister."
The hologram smiled. "Alright. Shall we?"
Luche turned to Takuto. "Let me come with you so I can at least say goodbye!"
"Sure thing."
Takumi and his friends ventured through the jungle. "We'll reach Harmony Village soon." Rapidmon Armor said before reluctantly adding. "Or what's left of it anyway…"
"Our base of operations isn't far from there." Omegamon said. "Just a little further everyone."
Takumi gasped. "There! A clearing up ahead!"
They found an opening in the trees. And they saw a log fence with a wooden gate. Both were badly damaged. "There it is…" HiAndromon said. "We need to pass through here. I should warn you, it's…it's not a pretty sight."
The stepped past the damaged gate. They walked into the village and the humans gasped as the Digimon looked down. "Oh my god…" Takumi muttered.
The whole village was in ruins. Blast holes on the ground, destroyed houses, smoke everywhere. And not a single Digimon to be found. Memories of six little kids playing with Digimon now overtaken by the destruction that laid before them. "Someone tell me this isn't real…" Nokia muttered.
"I wish it weren't." Samudramon sighed.
"This is horrible…" Yuuko whispered.
"So much destruction…" Arata said.
"It was just a peaceful village full of innocents." Yuugo muttered. "And now it's all gone…"
Keisuke clenched his fists. "I don't believe this. All this because they took you in eight years ago? What kind of monsters are these guys?"
"They'll pay for this." TyrantKabuterimon said. "But first we need to find the Rebel's Heart."
Keisuke nodded and started walking ahead but soon noticed that Takumi and the others weren't following. They just stood in the middle of the ruined village looking sadly at the destruction of the dearest place in the Digital World to them. Keisuke walked back over to them. "Guys, I'm sorry. I know this is hard to take in. But lingering on it isn't going to help anyone. Besides, they all got out safely, didn't they? That's what's important. As long as they're alive they can rebuild. But first we need to stop the Next Order."
Takumi took a deep breath and clenched his fist before his hand slackened. "…You're right. Sorry, I'm good."
"Yeah, as sad as this is moping about it won't help." Arata said. Yuuko, Yuugo and Nokia nodded.
"Alright. Let's get going." Takumi said. "Where to Omegamon?"
"Follow me." They continued through the village remains.
Just outside Flotia, Takuto, Kouta, Himari, Shoma, Mameo, Luche, Taomon, Mastemon, Kazuhamon and the hologram gathered. A WarGreymon next to Takuto spoke up. "Don't worry Takuto. She's a tough girl, I'm sure she's fine."
A MetalGarurumon nodded. "That's right. And the two of us will help you find her."
Takuto smiled. "Thanks Nova, Storm. I don't know what I'd do without you two."
A Gallantmon stood by Kouta. "We've been training very hard for if something like this happened. We'll be ready."
Kouta nodded. "That's right Yukimura. We're not waiting on the sidelines while the others do all the work again."
A Magnadramon flew by Himari. "We'll be ready to help too, right Himari?"
"You know it, Rikka! We got this!"
A black Omegamon with a sporadically different appearance looked at Shoma. "Are you ready for this Shoma?"
The boy nodded. "Absolutely Noir."
Mameo smiled. "I'd make for a pretty irresponsible adult if I just let you kids do everything. Good thing my partner is finally back in action."
Next to his foot was a Mamemon nodded. "That's right! I'm good to go!"
Himari chuckled. "Well, a Mamemon sure suits you but…no offense or anything, but you sure the little guy's up for this? I mean what if he has to butt heads with a Mega Level Digimon? With a type advantage over him!"
Mameo put his hands in his pockets and had a flashback of him as a kid fighting a man with a Machinedramon with this Mamemon. "Woulden't be the first time."
Mastemon, Taomon and Kazuhamon chanted as they lifted their hands up high. A giant hole formed in front of them. "This is it." The hologram said. "Once you go through, we'll have to close this gate, so nobody stumbles through it."
"Waaaaaait a second." Kouta said. "You do that, and we'll be stranded over there!"
"It will take time, but I'll try to establish my connection to that parallel world."
"Okay." Takuto nodded. He turned to the small girl. "We'll be back Luche, I promise."
"You better." The girl hugged his leg. "Find her and come back safely."
Takuto smiled and petted her on the head. "I will Luche. Be a good girl and look after everyone."
"I will." Luche reluctantly let go and backed up.
Takuto looked at everyone. "Alright everyone, time to move out!"
"Yeah!"
They all stepped towards the portal. The hologram smiled. "Do be careful everyone."
"We will." Mameo replied. "And thanks for all the help as always Mirei."
"Just doing my job."
"Alright, see you all soon!" Takuto waved as he, Kouta, Himari, Mameo, and Shoma walked towards the portal along with their Digimon.
"Goodbye everybody!" Luche waved. "Take care!" She then grinned to herself.
Once they were all in, Taomon nodded. "Alright, let's close this whormhole before anything else can get caught up in it."
"Agreed." Kazemon, Taomon and Mastemon held their hands towards the hole and it started to shrink.
"HAAAAAAAA!" Luche charged and jumped inside just as it closed shut.
"Luche!" Taomon shouted. With the portal gone the four of them just stared there at the black space where the portal was.
Mirei sighed. "Let's be honest, we all should have seen that coming."
Mastemon smirked at her. "After all that bragging to the Cyber Sleuths about how you see all too. If they found out about this, they'd rub it right in your face." Mirei groaned.
On the other side of the portal in the middle of a vast plain, Takuto and his friends stepped out one by one into this "parallel" Digital World. "So, this is the place, huh?" Himari asked.
"It sure has the same feel as our Digital World." Kouta added.
Mameo put his hands in his pockets. "Thinking about it, this is the third Digital World I've been in."
Shoma looked behind him and watched the portal start to close. "There's no turning back now."
They all turned to watch it slowly close and then at the last moment Luche went flying out of it and landed face first on the ground. "Oof!"
All of them gasped. "LUCHE?!"
The girl got on her knees and rubbed her head as the portal fully closed. "Owie, owie!"
Everyone gathered around the girl. "Luche, what are you doing here?!" Takuto shouted.
"I told you, I wanna help. Besides, Jijimon and the others are all in Flotia, they'll be fine without me."
"Luche, this is incredibly dangerous." Himari said. "And it's not like you have a Digimon with you, how do you plan to protect yourself if you get attacked?"
"Well, you guys will be here, right?"
"Right. Lucky us." Kouta sighed.
"Luche, this isn't a field trip." Mameo said. "We know nothing about this Digital World, there's no guarantee we'll be able to protect ourselves, let alone you along with us."
Luche looked at the ground sadly hugging her doll. "But…but…!"
Takuto sighed then gave Luche a stern expression. "They're all right Luche. This is an extremely dangerous mission." Luche looked down and whimpered. Takuto then smiled. "So, you have to stay close, and do as you're told, got it?"
Luche smiled at him. "Really? Yay!"
"Takuto!" Himari scolded.
"Well, it's not like we can send her home, the portal's closed."
Shoma sighed. "That is true. It's a little too late to do anything now."
"I'll do my best!" Luche said.
"I guess it can't be helped." Yukimura sighed.
"So now that we're here, what's our plan?" Takuto sked.
"Well…Let's look around and ask someone if they've seen your sister." Mameo said.
"Alright, let's move out!" Himari cheered.
The team started moving. "Hold on Shiki." Takuto thought. "We're on our way."
Just because I said this story wouldn't be a crossover from another franchise doesn't mean another Digimon game wasn't getting involved. That's right folks, the cast of Digimon World Next Order is getting in on this. This is why I'm calling Omnimon Omegamon and Gaiomon Samudramon in this story since Next Order gave them those names and had English voice acting and frankly better translation. How will the two parties fare in this Digital World at war? Stay tuned to find out.
In the meantime, for those of you who followed my Cyber Ranger series you may recall that near the end of the final arc I announced I was going to write about Takuto and Shiki in the future. The time is now. For those of you who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, I announced that I was opening a poll to decide what Shiki's Digimon will EXE into. That poll is still open, so all voters are welcome. Should Phoenixmon and Rosemon become Rosemon Burst Mode as they do in the game? Or should I go with BloomLordmon for a fairy plant Digimon that kind of resembles Omnimon and is stated to match the power of the Royal Knights? Or maybe I should go with Rafflesimon, a DNA Digimon that has Rosemon as a component. I'll pick a winner later down the road. The poll should be accessible from my homepage. If you are having trouble finding it PM me and I will see what I can do, but PMs and Reviews will NOT count as votes.
So, with that, stay tuned to Takumi and his friends' reunion with old friends next week!
