"Rapid Fire!" Rapidmon shot two Shellmon.
"Wolkenapalm!" Dorugoramon beat down a Boogiemon in one hit.
"Pummel Hammer!" The three Puppetmon all jumped at Takumi and Yuuko at once. Samudramon slashed their hammers to pieces in mid-jump. "Uh, oh."
"War Blaster!" BlackWarGreymon shot green energy pellets at them knocking them down. "Meteor Fall!" He blasted all three of them out in a massive explosion that blew them down.
"You'll pay for this!" One of them yelled as they ran back into the hole Drimogemon made.
"Welp, they're gone." Takumi said.
"Almost done here." Yuuko said. "Only a few left."
A BomberNanimon gritted his teeth. "No choice! Get out of here guys!" He ran towards Takumi and Yuuko with his fuse sizzling.
"Wait! Stop!" a Deramon yelled.
"Get away!" a Reppamon shouted before the remaining enemies ran off.
"What's that lunatic doing!?" Samudramon asked.
"Watch out!" BlackWarGreymon punted the BomberNanimon and he was flung a good distance before exploding. Takumi held Yuuko with his back at the explosion as BlackWarGreymon stood in front of them with his Brave Shield.
"He tried to suicide bomb us." Rapidmon Armor said. "That was close. Takumi, Yuuko, are you two alright?"
"I'm fine." Takumi replied. "Yuuko?"
"Yeah, I'm good."
"That's nice." BlackWarGreymon said lowering his shield. "But now we got a new problem."
Everyone looked at the path leading the way they came, and it was caved in with rubble from the ceiling when the BomberNanimon exploded. "Oh, come on!" Takumi cringed.
"Great. The way out of here's completely caved in." Samudramon growled.
"Now what do we do?" Rapidmon Armor asked. "Maybe use a Home Gate?"
"Hudiemon said that to keep the bunker safe while hiding under the city she had the entire sewer hooked up with signal jammers, remember?" Takumi said. "And the Puppetmon trashed the main computer so we can't deactivate them…"
"Then let's just blow this rubble away." Dorugramon said cracking his knuckles as he approached the cave in.
"No!" Samudramon held his arm out stopping him. "Anything reckless could cause this place to cave in further! You could bring the entire area down on our heads!"
"Well, we got to do something!" BlackWarGreymon said. "The others are fighting for their lives back in the city!"
"Wait…" Takumi glanced to the side. "There is one way out of here."
Everyone looked at him then in the direction he was facing. To the hole in the wall. "That way?" Rapidmon Armor asked.
"Those guys came at us through here. So, it must lead outside." Takumi said.
"Takumi, we don't even know where it leads!" Yuuko said. "It's all to likely we'll come out close to enemy lines!"
Takumi turned to her. "If you have a better idea, I'm all ears." Yuuko went quiet at that. "This is our only chance and every second we waste puts the city in danger. Now that we have our answer, we need to ger in communication range to give it to Mirei."
Yuuko took a deep breath. "…You're right."
"Okay, let's move!" BlackWarGreymon said. They hurried into the hole.
Crusadermon was hurrying down the alleyways of the city being careful not to be spotted. She spotted a door that according to the city's schematics led underground. "This should take me there."
"Wait!"
The knight looked over her shoulder and saw Keisuke run up to her. "Oh? If it isn't Erika Mashima's little knight."
"Everyone worked hard to make this city the Resistance's home Crusadermon!" Keisuke glared pointing at her. "Get out of here before I throw you out!"
"You think you can threaten me little boy?" Crusadermon turned around. "Have you no recollection of our previous battle in EDEN that day? Had that brat not forced me to retreat I would have ended you both there and then."
"That's not going to happen this time." MetalSeadramon said.
"While you were hiding behind your puppets and tricks like the coward you are, we've been getting stronger." TyrantKabuterimon said.
"And I'll have you know, we flattened Craniamon by ourselves earlier!" PileVolcamon added. "He was twice the fighter you'll ever be!"
"My, my. That sure of yourselves?" Crusadermon pointed her sword at them. "It seems I'll have to put you back in your place."
"Keisuke, let's get bag this hag!" MetalSeadramon sneered.
PileVolcamon cracked his knuckles. "Time to make her pay for everything she did to Hudie!"
TyrantKabuterimon looked at him. "Keisuke… you can do this."
"Can he?" Crusadermon asked. "That boy is not one of the Chosen Ones. He's just some nobody who got involved in this war by sheer accident."
Keisuke closed his eyes. "Maybe you're right. I'm not like Takumi and the others. Or even Takuto and his friends. But…"
"Think, most of us came here out of obligation. You came here because you wanted to help people. Aren't you a hero for that virtue?"
"Just like how you saved him from Matadormon! Takumi and the others had nothing to do with that! That was all you!"
"It's not about being capable. It's not even about saving the world! It's about doing your best with the opportunities given to you."
Keisuke took a deep breath. "…Ami, MarineAngemon and Koh are right. It's pointless to try to compare myself to other people I'm not. I might not be able to do the things they can, but there are things that I can do. That only I can do. And right now… Stopping you is something that I alone can do."
"Is that so?" Crusadermon asked. "Very well! Come at me boy! Speed Break Field!" Crusadermon nurffed Keisuke's Digimon before charging. "Hell Crusher!"
Keisuke's Digimon were knocked back. "Two can play that game!" Takumi declared. "Tyrant!"
"Speed Break Field!" TyrantKabuterimon in turn lowered Crusadermon's speed just as she charged at PileVolcamon.
PileVolcamon blocked her sword then retaliated. "Cross-Counter!" He punched her right in the face.
Crusadermon growled as she backed up. She shot a ribbon at PileVolcamon coiling it around his wrist then swung him into MetalSeadramon. "Crescent Leaf!"
Crusadermon evaded TyrantKabuterimon's claws. "Fist of Athen!" She rammed her shield into him.
"River of Power!" MetalSeadramon landed a hit from behind. He then flew up to her. "Hot Squeeze!" He made coils with his body to ensnare Crusadermon. "Gotchya bitch!" He started squeezing and Crusadermon screamed. Then she exploded in flower petals. "Huh?"
"Spiral Masquerade!" Crusadermon flew through MetalSeadramon slashing him repeatedly. PileVolcamon then leapt up and grabbed her spinning in the air before piledriving her headfirst into the ground. He got up and grabbed her legs swinging her around before throwing her at TyrantKabuterimon
"King Spiral!" A swarm of insects tossed Crusadermon straight up. She saw MetalSeadramon and held up her shield just as he swung his tails at her.
She blocked the hit but was knocked back. "Impressive. It seems you truly have gotten stronger."
"That's right." Keisuke nodded. "I got this strength by learning from my friends and fighting for what I believe in!"
"Will that be enough I wonder?" Crusadermon asked. "Let's find out."
Rapidmon Armor flew out of a giant hole in the ground and landed with Takumi on his shoulder. Samudramon leapt out with Yuuko on him and Dourgoramon and BlackWarGreymon followed suit. "Ah, finally fresh air and sunlight." Takumi smiled climbing down.
Yuugo got down next. "Yes... but where are we now?"
Takumi put on his goggles. "We're quite a distance from the city."
"Well, let's get moving." Dorugoramon said. "The others need our help."
"Ahh! It's them!" The group noticed the three Puppetmon from before trembling.
"You bullies! You had to chase us all the way here?!"
"No, we-
"Well, you ain't getting us that easily!" one of the Puppetmon interrupted Yuuko before turning around and shouting. "HEY GUYS! THE DETECTIVE AND THAT GIRL WITH THE HUGE BOUNTY ARE HERE!"
Takumi heard more rumbling as another swarm of Digimon approach. "Great, here we go again."
"Ugh, we don't have time for this nonsense." Rapidmon Armor said. "Let's get this over with!"
Omni and Dynasmon charged into each other with a loud clash. They grappled against each other for a bit before Dynasmon threw Omni towards the ground. Takuto closed his eyes and Omni spun in the air landing on his feet. They then aimed their cannon at Dynasmon. "Gigawatt Laser!" Dynasmon dodged multiple beams of light as he closed in on Omni. He held his claws out, but Omni blocked the hand with his sword. Just when Dynasmon was about to scratch with his other hand Omni pointed his cannon at him. "Supreme Cannon!"
Dynasmon grunted as he was blasted away. Takuto's focus on Matrix Link was broken when his Digivice rang. "Hello?"
Mirei appeared on the screen. "Get everyone into the city! We're about to take off!"
"Right!" Takuto nodded. "Everyone! Back to the city!"
Dynasmon looked around him as the Resistance started to fall back. "They're retreating! Push the attack!"
"Omni!"
"Dimension V3!"
The space around Dynasmon distorted and he became an 8-Bit sprite. "What?!"
"Like the new look!" Takuto laughed as he and Omni ran off.
Dynasmon growled as he struggled to get his body to run after them. On of the pursuing Digimon stopped to restore him. He looked at his hands as he grasped his fingers before flying after the Resistance. "After them!"
"Dark Terra Force!" BlackWarGreymon threw a destructive orb into a bunch of Digimon blowing them to bits.
Samudramon blocked a Zanbamon's swords before cutting him down. "It's like there's no end to them!"
Takumi and Yuuko's digivices rang. "Hello?"
"Takumi, why are you and Yuuko outside of the city?" Mirei asked.
"Got caved in while we were in the sewers. Had to take a detour."
"Well get back here ASAP. We're about to ascend the city! Everyone else is already inside, we should get started before too many enemies get in!"
"We're a little busy right now." Yuuko replied.
"Yuuko, get out of here!" Takumi said. "I'll hold them off!"
"No. You've already endangered yourself for others more than enough. If you're staying behind so am I." Yuuko turned to her Digivice. "Mirei, get the city in the air! Don't worry about us!"
"Are you sure?"
"We'll be fine!" Takumi said. "Once we're done here, we can use a Home Gate! Worst case scenario we can just fly back on my Digimon!"
"Alright. Everyone else is inside, starting accelerators now."
"Mirei." Takumi spoke. "Next Order troops followed us to the bunker and destroyed the computer. They knew what we were after."
"I see... we'll deal with that once the attack is over. Stay safe, both of you." Mirei then hung up.
PileVolcamon was knocked into a wall. "Bee Cyclone!" TyrantKabuterimon summoned a swarm of bugs that flew at Crusadermon. The knight slashed them all apart.
"Ocean Wave!" MetalSeadramon hit her from behind.
"Crescent Leaf!" TyrantKabuterimon uppercutted he skyward.
A meteor PileVolcamon held onto slammed her in the back. "Volcanic Driver!" He dragged her down into a fiery explosion before jumping back.
Crusadermon grunted standing back up. "You're starting to get on my nerves boy." She started to charge forward but stopped when the ground shook. "What the...?"
Keisuke looked around him then smiled. "Alright."
As Dynasmon pushed through some Resistance Digimon and made his way into the city, he noticed the shaking. "What is happening?" He heard shouting behind him and noticed the ground he was standing on was lifting up with him and a portion of his forces on it splitting them from the rest of the army that was on the still ground. "Is this...?!"
Back in the lab Mirei was still working. "Everything is going smoothly." Bookomon smiled.
"I honestly wasn't sure it was possible..." Agumon Expert smiled. "But here we are."
"We did it!" Luche jumped up and down. "The city is flying!"
Takumi and Yuuko turned around and watched as Cahe City ascended to the sky in the distance. "Looks like everything worked out." Takumi smiled.
Yuuko nodded. "That should keep the city safe."
"What?!" one of the Puppetmon gapped.
"How?!" another one shouted. "We destroyed the stupid computer!"
"Yeah! They never got their protocols!" the third one yelled.
"Protocols?" Takumi smiled innocently before turning to Yuuko. "What are they babbling about?"
Yuuko simply smiled back. "I haven't the slightest clue."
"W-what?!" One of the Puppetmon backed up. "But Crusadermon said...!"
"Now that the city is safe in the sky you lot won't be able to reach it." Rapidmon Armor said. "You might as well pack up and leave."
"Hmph. Your precious city might be safe from us." A MadLeomon said. "But you and your humans aren't."
"Destroying you will do a heavy blow to the Resistance." a Wedigomon said. "Besides, Brother Sorrow did offer a substantial reward for whoever can bring him that girl."
Takumi stepped in front of Yuuko. "Don't even think about it."
"Takumi..."
A WaruSeadramon laughed. "How knightly of you! The boy wishes to protect the girl? Well unfortunately for you, the prize money offered is a hefty sum, so don't think we won't rip you apart to get the bounty!"
"Over our dead bodies!" BlackWarGreymon said as he, Rapidmon, Dorugoramon, and Samudramon approached.
A Tankmon snickered. "If you insist."
Crusadermon stepped back looking around her. "How is this possible! Those Puppetmon said…!"
Keisuke smiled. "The city is finally airborne. Checkmate Crusadermon."
"Now that the city's up in the sky your days of invading it are over!" PilleVolcamon grinned.
Crusadermon clenched her fist. "If so… then I shall have to make the most out of this invasion!" She opened a monitor and pressed something. "Fortunately, I make a point to always have an insurance policy." She closed it and faced Keisuke's Digimon. "This city will fall." She started moving too fast for them to keep track. "Your friends will parish." She slashed PileVolcamon. "We will take Baihumon's Digicore." She slammed her shield into MetalSeadramon. She flew up to TyrantKabuterimon. "And you will be powerless to stop it! Spiral Masquerade!"
TyrantKabuterimon was taking a flurry of slashes. Keisuke clenched his fist. "You're wrong Crusadermon." He put on his Visor. "Overclock."
TyrantKabuterimon glowed red and grabbed her. "This city will not fall." He threw her into the air. "Speed Charge Field!"
Crusadermon stopped herself in the air. She turned around and threw her ribbon at MetalSeadramon who evaded it. "And our friends won't perish!" He spun and slapped his tail into her knocking her down.
Crusadermon grunted as she looked up from the floor to see PileVolcamon stepping towards her. She charged right towards him. "Fist of Athena!"
PileVolcamon moved his head out of the way of the punch then grabbed her. "Because we can do something!" He leapt backwards slamming Crusadermon headfirst into the ground. He sprung up to his feet and jumped over to his fellow Digimon.
Keisuke held his hand forward. "We can fight for what we believe in… and reach for the opportunities brough before us!"
"Meteor Fall!" Pile Volcamon's back shot red boulders that rained down.
"Ocean Wave!" MetalSeadramon roared and a tidal wave rose up.
"Thunder Fall!" TyrantKabuterimon swung his arms and bolts of lightning came down.
Crusadermon held up her shield but was engulfed in a stream of mighty blows that brought her to her knees. "Ah… how… this power… I'm being bested… by a nobody like you…?!"
"I'm no Chosen One. No Cyber Sleuth. Or some other worldly hero." Keisuke said. "I'm just a normal guy who was brought into this war for his own reasons. But even an ordinary guy like me has things only he can do! Battles that only I can fight!"
Crusadermon grunted. "You…!"
"Keisuke!" Koh ran up to Keisuke with Himari close behind. "Who's that?"
"Crusadermon of the Royal Knights." Keisuke replied. "And the one responsible for a lot of grief back in my world."
"You took her down on your own?" Himari grinned. "Nice!"
Keisuke smiled to Koh. "Thanks for the encouragement. I needed it."
"Glad I can help." Koh looked at Crusademron. "Now… what say we finish her off?"
"She must be in charge of this attack." Rikka said. "If we take her down, dealing with our pest problem in the city will be a cakewalk."
Crusadermon laughed. "What's so funny?" Apollomon asked.
"You really think this is over?" Crusadermon laughed. "Oh, your problems have just begun. The highlight of today's show is coming."
"The city is in the air." Keisuke said. "There's no way you're getting backup."
"Unless my backup has wings."
"What?" Himari asked. Suddenly everything went dark. "Huh?"
"What's going on?" Koh looked around. "Some kind of eclipse?"
PileVolcamon turned around looking up. "Uh… guys?"
The group looked at him as he pointed up staring at the sky. They all looked up seeing something blocking the sun and descending towards them. Something with wings holding a giant lance. "Oh, crap." TyrantKabuterimon scowled.
Mirei looked at her laptop. "Not him…"
"No way…" Takuto gapped looking up. "Is that…?"
Dynasmon laughed. "You have come at just the right time my friend."
"Is that your world's Examon?!" Kouta asked Nokia looking up. "Why is it so huge?!"
"Wait, yours isn't big?"
"Well yeah, but not Kaiju big! How in the world did you guys fight that?!"
"Last time we did this he was weakened." Omegamon said. "Now he's at full power. No… he's even stronger than he was back then."
"Oh, no…" Keisuke gulped.
Crusadermon laughed as she stood up. "Examon will burn this city to the ground. Go my friend! Let lose your rage on these rebels!"
Examon roared and breathed fire down on a part of the city. "No!" Koh shouted. "We gotta stop him!"
Crusadermon turned around. "I have my own task to fulfill. Enjoy playing with the Dragon Emperor."
"Think you can turn your back on us?!" TyrantKabuterimon glared.
"Do you really have time to fight me? How long do you think your friends and city will stand against Examon's flames?" Crusadermon swung her arm, and a flash of pink blinded the team. They heard her laugh as she disappeared.
"Where'd she go?!" Koh asked.
"Forget about her!" Keisuke said. "As much as I'd like to stomp that witch right now, we need to do something about Examon or there's not going to be any city left!"
"Dang it, he's right." Himari growled. "Come on!" They started running towards the giant dragon.
Dynasmon blocked a sword swing from Omni. "Breath of Wyvern!" He pushed the knight back with a dragon of mist.
"Catastrophe Cannon!" Dynasmon barley dodged energy blasts from the left and saw Arata and Diaboromon run up to them.
"Transcendent Cannon!" He was then blown to the ground by Noir from the other direction where Shoma was running up.
"Gah… it seems I've reached my limit…" Dynasmon growled. "No matter. Examon will be your end." He got up and flew away.
"He's escaping!" Takuto shouted.
"Let him go for now." Arata said. "We've got bigger problems right now… in more ways than one."
Everyone's Digivices rang and Mirei opened a group chat. Everyone was present save for Takumi and Yuuko. "Everyone, we're suffering heavy losses! We need to deal with Examon now!"
"I know!" Sayo said. "We're on our way!"
"Right!" Mameo nodded. "We'll leave the remaining enemies to the rest of the Resistance and converge on Examon!"
"Sounds good." Yuugo nodded. "We already defeated Craniamon."
"Dynasmon just ran off too." Takuto said. "What about Crusademron and Brother Sorrow?"
"Brother Sorrow disappeared on us." Kouta said. "Sounded like he had something to take care of."
"Crusadermon vanished into the city somewhere." Ami said.
"Keisuke had her cornered, but she got away." Himari replied. "She's still somewhere in here…"
"I'll have Justimon and the knights on our side look for her." Hudiemon. "Right now, our priority is stopping Examon. I'm on my way to lend a hand."
"Okay." Nokia nodded before looking at the group chat. "Wait… are Takumi and Yuuko not here?"
"Huh?" Himari checked the call. "Hey, you're right! Why aren't they picking up?"
Mirei sighed. "They're fine. I'll explain later. Right now, you have to stop Examon at all cost!"
"Right!" Takuto nodded before the group hung up. He then climbed onto Omni's shoulder. "Let's do this!"
"Okay!" Omni flew straight towards Examon. The towering dragon stopped beathing fire when he sensed the knight's approach and turned to him. "Gigawatt Laser!" Omni fired a powerful beam at Examon but he held up his arm blocking the attack effortlessly.
"He's tough…" Takuto grunted.
TyrantKabuterimon flew past Omni with Keisuke riding him. PileVolcamon was on MetalSeadramon right behind. "Thunder Fall!"
Examon brushed off a bolt as MetalSeadramon flew up to him. "River of Power!" He flew across Examon's back as he fired.
PileVolcamon jumped off MetalSeadramon. "Diamond Fist!" He punched into his opponent's back. His fist bounced off and he flipped into the air before MetalSeadramon circled back to catch him.
Sayo flew up on Dianamon. "Put him to sleep!"
"Right!" Dianamon flew overhead Examon. "Good Night Moon!" Her boots glowed and brought a mysterious light down on Examon.
Examon stared at it then roared. "Wind Claw!"
"It didn't work?!" Dianamon held her weapon up to block but was blown into the air. "AH!" The sudden force knocked her partner off her. "Sayo!"
Apollomon flew up and Koh caught her. "Gotchya!"
"Koh!" Sayo gasped. "Thank you."
Dianamon flew next to Apollomon so Sayo could get back on her. "This is going to get messy."
Diaboromon ran across the ground with Arata riding him. He jumped onto a tall building then leapt into the air towards Examon. "Catastrophe Cannon!" His multiple shots barely phased it.
"Gale Storm!" Examon aimed to hit them with a tornado in mid-air but just as it started to form Yukimura and Kouta flew in to grab Diaboromon and move him out of the way.
"Looks like I owe you one." Arata smiled.
"Don't sweat it." Kouta replied.
Shoma flew in on Noir. "Let's go!"
"Supreme Sword!" Noir sent waves with his blade that got Examon's Attention. He breathed fire at Noir, but he barrel rolled out of the way before taking his cannon out. "Transcendent Cannon!"
The blast seemed like it annoyed Examon more than anything. "Gran del Sol!" A shining beam from above hit Examon in the back of the head. It turned around to see Faye and Shiki.
"Flying Kick!" Hudiemon charged into him, but he didn't even seem to notice. "Jeez!" She growled backing up.
HiAndromon ran across the ground with Yuugo on his shoulder. "Atomic Ray!" He fired at Examon from below. The knight looked down and descended his massive spear. HiAndromon ran to the side avoiding it as it pierced the ground.
"Fire Tornado!" An attack from Rikka and Himari returned his attention to the sky.
"Smiley Bomb!" From a nearby rooftop File was throwing red projectiles to no effect. "I might as well be chucking water balloons here!"
"It's not your fault he's just too big." Mameo said. "I'm sure the others can handle this, we should clear out the rest of the city."
"Gotchya."
As they turned around to leave Omnimon and Nokia flew at Examon. "Hit him with all ya got!" Nokia said.
"Supreme Cannon!"
Examon took a hit from the side then looked at his fellow knight. "Gale Storm!"
Ami was running towards Examon as she saw the explosion. Fei was on Vespamon as they flew at him along with Phoenixmon and Sakuyamon. "Looks like the gang's already here! Let's go all out!"
"Right!" Rosemon Burst Mode grabbed Ami's hands. She spun her partner around and tossed her high into the sky before she, Ophanimon and Kuzuhamon flew after her.
As she was in the air Ami put her goggles on and held her hand out. "Rosemon Burst Mode! Ophanimon! Kuzuhamon! Extra Xross Evolution!"
Her three Digimon fussed into one. "Rosemon X!" Ami landed on her Digimon's shoulder as they flew straight towards Examon. "Rose Rapier!"
Examon roared as a sharp streak of red flew by slashing him. "Finally, a hit that looked like it hurt him!" Keisuke smiled.
Rosemon X turned around as Examon glared at her. "Meteor Fall!"
A giant bolder descended towards them. "We can't let that hit the city!" Shiki yelled.
"Got it!" Takuto nodded as he and Omni flew towards it. "Nokia, back me up!"
"Oh yeah!" Nokai cheered. "Omegamon power!"
The two Omegamon flew side by side towards the Meteor Fall. "Sword of Ruin!" They both cleaved through the giant bolder and it exploded a safe distance from the city.
Examon sent his spear towards them. "Avalon's Gate!"
"Gah!" Omegamon flew away and Omni tried to block the hit and got swatted like a fly.
"Takuto!" Shiki shouted.
"Yukimura!"
"Right!" Kouta's Digimon rushed in and rammed his axe into the enemy dragon. Examon roared in pain before smacking Yukimura off him.
"Okay, that did something at least…" Yuugo said.
"Mach Stinger V!" TiggerVespamon scratched Examon's face with her blades.
"Starlight Explosion!"
"Spirit Strike!" Sakuyamon and Phoenixmon joined in. But they didn't do much damage.
"Ha! Element of surprise!" Nokia shouted as she and Omegamon rushed at Examon. ...Who swatted them with his spear knocking them into a building.
"Nokia!" Ami gasped.
"For future reference, shouting "element of surprise" while attempting a surprise attack is a good way to ruin any chance of surprise on your opponent." Hudiemon sighed.
"Noted…" the dizzy Nokia muttered as she and her partner lied there inside the damage building.
Ami sighed and opened another group chat. "So, yeah, this isn't working."
"Takuto, are you okay?" Himari asked.
"Yeah…" the dazed boy groaned as he came back to the battle on Omni. "Just peachy…"
"This Examon isn't just bigger." Shiki said. "He's way stronger than the one back home. Ami, you and your brother defeated him before, right?"
"Well yeah, but we went out of our way to weaken him last time." Arata said.
"Well, Mirei had us fight an upgraded version of Examon at full health." Ami said. "But this guy's beyond even that."
"At this rate we're just buzzing around him like flies." Koh said. "We need a way to do some solid damage."
"We're gonna need a plan." Arata said. "…And I think I got it."
"Then let's hear it!" Sayo said.
"Kouta, Yukimura seemed like he did the most damage just now. Not only does he have an X-Antibody but he's also a Virus Type."
"Ah, I get it." Fei said. "That dragon's a Data Type ain't he?"
"Right. Also, when Ami, Takumi and I fought him, we noticed Examon tends to go into a fit of rage as the fight drags on. That leads to him tiring himself out. That's when he's open. Kouta, we'll distract Examon while you and Yukimura power up! Once he's worn down hit him as hard as you can!"
"Okay!" Kouta nodded. Yukimura flew upwards and backwards. Kouta closed his eyes establishing the Matrix Link. He and Yukimura held Dynas in two hands as light flowed into it.
"Here we go!" Shiki shouted as she and Faye charged in first. They activated Matrix Link. "Sprout Rush!" Faye stabbed into Examon's chest repeatedly. Examon breathed fire at them, and they held up their shield to block it but were pushed back wincing at the heat. Examon was aiming to capitalize when Ami and Rosemon X activated Matrix Link themselves and flipped behind him before slamming their whips into his back making him screech.
"Ambrose Strike!" His large tail hit them making them spin out of control. He then thrusted his spear Ambrose at them, but Diaboromon's long limbs reach and grabbed Rosemon X and Ami pulling them away.
Keisuke leapt off of TyrantKabuterimon and onto MetalSeadramon as TyrantKabuterimon flew up to Examon. "Shine of Bee!"
Examon winced and backed away from the explosion. "Pendragon's Glory!" He fired a red laser at TyrantKabuterimon.
"Saint Shield!" Rikka flew in front of him and tried to block it but both of them were blown away.
Noir roared as he stabbed his sword into Examon's back. He then brought out the cannon. "Energy Ball!" He fired repeatedly until Examon started swerving. After a roll in the air, he shook the Enforcer off his back.
Omegamon rose up to the left of his head. "Saint Knuckle!" He punched Examon right in the face. The Dragon tried to take a bite out of him, but he flew away.
"Crazy Ice Blast!" Dianamon shot a hail of ice spears at Examon from behind.
"Gale Storm!" Dianamon flew away from a cyclone. Omni charged at him and dodged a spear swing. "Wind Claw!" Examon's claws swiped at him, but he dodged that as well before retaliating.
"Flame Storm!"
As the last opponent, a Dragomon collapsed Takumi and Yuuko's partners were exhausted. "So… you three want to go another round?" BlackWarGreymon panted. The three Puppetmon screamed as they ran for dear life. "That's what I thought…"
"Are you guys okay?" Yuuko asked.
"Yeah… just tired after all those fights…" Samudramon sighed.
"Understandable. But it should be over now. Let's get back to the city so you can rest and-
Takumi turned around and looked back towards the city in the sky. "Uh, Yuuko?"
"What?" Yuuko turned to him then noticed his gaze was on the sky and looked up. Something was… hovering over the city. Moving wildly above it. Something huge. "What is that?"
Rapidmon Armor stepped forward and scanned. "Oh no…"
"What is it?" Dorugoramon asked.
"Examon…"
"What?!" Samudramon turned to him. "They set that beast lose on the city?!"
"We need to get over there and help them!" Takumi said. "Yuuko! Home Gates!"
"Right!" Yuuko looked through her inventory as Takumi opened his own menu and they located the item they needed and activated. A blue circle appeared under both of them and their Digimon and started glowing. There was a bright flash and Samudramon, Dorugoramon, BlackWarGreymon and Rapidmon Armor all were teleported away.
…But Takumi and Yuuko remained where they were, standing in the field. Takumi blinked. "…Huh?"
"What just happened…?" Yuuko asked trying to process what just happened. "Our Digimon left, but we're still here?"
"Is it a glitch? Let's try again."
"Now!" Something jumped out of the bushes nearby and toppled Takumi from behind.
"Takumi?!" Yuuko turned to him briefly before she was tackled next by something small. She grunted as she hit the ground.
"Got em!" Takumi looked over his shoulder. A small Digimon made of cardboard boxes was standing on his back keeping him down. "Come on guys, we need to secure the package!"
Two more Bakomon ran up to meet the two pinning Takumi and Yuuko down. They each held up a roll of tape in their hands. "Gum Roll!" The two newcomers jumped on top of Takumi and Yuuko so they each had two Bakomon on them.
Yuuko yelped as her wrists were pulled behind her back. "Hey!" She shivered as she felt tape wrap around her hands. "What are you doing?!"
Takumi grunted as his hands became tapped stubs before his wrists were tapped together. "Get off!" One of the Bakomon went up and put a strip of tape over his mouth muffling him.
"TakuMPH!" Yuuko was in mid shout when her mouth was tapped as well.
"We're really sorry about this!" one of the Bakomon said lifting Yuuko's feet so her legs bended and he could tape her ankles. "But we really need the money Brother Sorrow's offering!"
"Good thing he hacked their thingamajigs so that if they tried to teleport, they'd just send their Digimon away but not them." another Bakomon who had just tapped Takumi's feet together said while wrapping more around his legs.
"Brother Sorrow did this?!" Yuuko thought as more tape was wound around her thighs then her torso.
Once the Bakomon were done tapping the two of they climbed off them. "There! All done!" one of them said watching Yuuko and Takumi wriggle on the ground yelling into the tape over their mouths. "Now all that's left is delivery!"
The Bakomon gathered and held their hands up. "Transdelivery!" A rectangular cardboard box appeared and landed in between them. They then went over and lifted Takumi over their heads. "Don't worry." one of them said. "We left you some air holes."
Takumi did not like the idea of being stuffed into that box and tried his best to shake free, but he was soon tossed inside. He rolled back and forth a bit but the tape clung to his body. Even when he tried to rub his face against the box to get the tape off his mouth it stayed secure. He sat up out of the box but was immediately knocked back down when Yuuko was thrown on top of him. Both of them made muffled screams as they collided. When they opened their eyes and looked at each other's faces they blushed deep red. Yuuko was on top of Takumi and this box barley had enough room for them both making it impossible to get into a better position. Awkward thoughts were all that occupied their minds until everything went dark as the lid to the box closed and they heard tape sealing it shut. "Sorry if it's a bit cramped in there!" one of the small Digimon said. "Just… try to get comfy until we get to Brother Sorrow. Alright men! Heave!" Takumi and Yuuko felt the box holding them get lifted as they were carried away.
Underground MirageGaogamon Burst Mode was guarding a doorway. He heard footsteps and summoned his weapon. "Who goes there?!"
Crusadermon stepped into his view. "So, this is where you stashed Baihumon's Digicore. It certainly took a while for me to find this place."
"Speak your name."
Crusadermon held up a rose. "I am the lord of the Knightmons, made from a deviant Virus Type among the Royal Knights! My name is Crusadermon! I shall snatch the shining rose of victory!"
"Crusadermon… you are one of the Royal Knights of the Next Order."
"That is correct." The knight's rose scattered in petals as she tossed it. "I hear you have been guarding Baihumon's Digicore for a long time. I am here to relieve you of that duty."
"What is it you want with the Sovereign Digimon?!"
Crusadermon didn't answer. She just charged. "Spiral Masquerade!"
MirageGaogamon Burst Mode blocked the attack with his sickle. "Saint Knuckle!" He found his opening and punched Crusadermon in the face. "Holy Light!" A burst of light engulfed her. "Hmph. Is that the best you can do?"
Crusadermon slid back on her feet. "Gah! How can a fossil like you hold such power!"
MirageGaogamon stomped towards her. "You will regret ruining the peace my master and comrades gave their lives for traitor! Final Mirage- A green and grey Digimon with a purple tail and red wings charged into MirageGaogamon ramming him into a wall. "Agh! Who…?!"
The attacker turned to Crusaermon. "Get the DigiCore! Hurry!"
"Of course! Many thanks!" Crusaermon dashed to the door and hacked the lock opening it.
"No!" MirageGaogamon pushed his attacker off and ran after her as she went inside.
"Gehenna Flame!" The Digimon spat purple fire into MirageGaogamon making his stop and face the approaching Digimon that continued to breath fire on him.
MiragGaogmon started spinning. "Full Moon Meteor Impact!" He swung his mace into the attacker who screamed as he was flung back the way he came and out of sight. He then ran inside the room Crusadermon went into. Inside the Royal Knight stood in front of a smashed case holding the yellow orb. "Hands off Lord Baihumon's core!" He darted towards the knight. Crusadermon vanished in a storm of red petals.
Things take a turn for the worst for our heroes. Next chapter will conclude the attack on the city.
