Back in Cache City Sayo and Koh were fighting a swarm of Digimon. Dianamon cut through a Mistymon and Apollomon's fist tore into a Volcdramon. "They just keep coming…" Koh growled.
"What, getting tired already?" Sayo asked with a coy smirk on her face.
"Ha! Yeah right! I'm just getting warmed up!"
They heard shouting and looked at swarm of enemies rushing at them. "Oh? Nice of them to be all lined up for us." Dianamon said.
Apollomon looked behind him. "Let's show them the hazards of rushing in recklessly when facing Union City's best."
The two Tamers nodded. "Go for it!" Sayo said.
Dianamon flew up. "Good Night Moon!" Her boots emitted mystic light. The hoard slowed down and their gaze fixated on the glow. "Now!"
Apollomon roared as the orb on his back glowed like a sun. "SolBlaster!" He sent a wave of fire that burned them all down.
Sayo and Koh high fived. "And that's how we do it in our world!" Koh grinned.
Agunimon ran up to them. "Sayo! Koh! The enemy is withdrawing!"
"Great." Sayo replied. "Let's check up on everyone and tend to our wounded first. Then we-
"GUUUUUUUUUUYS!" Calumon flew into the street. "WE GOT TROUBLE!"
"Calumon?" Dianamon landed in front of the group as Apollomon walked up. "What's wrong?"
"A big mean Digimon stole something important from the lab! And now he's attacking where the residents are taking shelter!"
"Oh no…" Koh gasped. He and Sayo started running.
A bunch of smaller Digimon were cowering in a corner. Darcmon was panting on one knee using her staff to support herself. Lilamon was also on her hands and knees and Dinohumon and Grizzlymon were unconscious. BoltBoutamon laughed holding the Brave Snatcher in his hand. "Quite the predicament, eh Darcmon? If you just unleashed the power of the Sovereign, you'd best me easily! But of course, it would be hard to do so without turning this city and those children behind you into an inferno."
"I won't…" Darcmon pushed herself up. "I won't let you hurt the little ones!"
"Oh, don't worry, I have no plans to lay so much as a finger on the kiddies. My interest lies with you Darcmon…"
"Leave…her…alone!" Lilamon shouted flying with at BoltBoutamon. His back giant hands grabbed her, made her shout as he gave her a squeeze and threw her into a wall.
"Lilamon!" Darcmon shouted. She took up her blade and shouted running at BoltBoutamon. He sidestepped her lunging thrust and she was now hobbling towards a Pidemon clone and two Myotismon clones that were waiting for her.
"Trump Sword!" The Pidemon's blade knocked her weapon out of her hands.
"Crimson Lightning!" One of the Myotismon shot a blood red whip that coiled around Darcmon's wrists. She cried out and tried to pull her hands back in as she slowly slid on her feet towards the fake Myotismon. Then the second shot a Crimsion Lightning that tied her shins together and pulled. Darcmoon shrieked as her feet left the ground and she dangled just off the floor with her hands and feet pulled in opposite directions.
BoltBoutamon laughed at the helpless Digimon's struggles and brushed a finger across her cheek. "To think a weak pretty thing like you can hold the power of Zhuqiamon. I look forward to seeing it in full…"
Lilamon tried to push herself up. "Let…Darcmon go…!"
"Sorry, no can do. We need her for our plans."
"BoltBoutamon!" Sayo's voice shouted as she and Koh rushed inside the shelter with their Digimon.
"Oh?" BoltBoutamon turned towards them. "Look who it is. It's been a while hasn't it kids."
"Let Darcmon go!" Koh ordered.
"I'm afraid she's coming with me. Oh, by the way, thanks for letting me study Chrono Data. It was most enlightening."
"Do you have any idea what it is your playing with?!" Sayo asked. "Chrono Data could end all life in a Digital World!"
"That's what makes it so interesting. Well, as much as I'd love to stay and chat, I am a busy man. I'll be going now."
"Stop him!" Koh ordered. Apollomon and Dianamon ran towards BoltBoutamon.
"Night Raid!" The two fake Myotismon blinded them in a storm of bats. When they left, BoltBoutamon and Darcmon were gone.
"No…" Lilamon whimpered. "Darcmon…"
"Damn it, no!" Arata shouted. "Not again…"
"Then that fake BoltBoutamon was there to draw attention away so the real one could sneak into the city." PileVolcamon said.
Keisuke growled. "I knew that rat was up to something!"
"Darcmon and the Brave Snatcher?" Mameo asked. "This is bad…"
"What about the Eaters?" Alphamon asked.
"Those are still safe with me." Mirei said. "Either BoltBoutamon didn't notice them, or he didn't care for them."
"But the Brave Snatcher is a weapon of horrifying power…" Omegamon said. "I shudder to think of the unholy terrors BoltBoutamon and the Next Order plan to unleash with it."
"And now that they have Darcmon, they posses all four Sovereign DigiCores!" Yuuko added. "They have everything they need to carry out Project Nexus!"
"I must apologise." Mirei said. "When we were setting up defences, I did not consider providing any for the lab. It was easy for him to break in and take the Brave Snatcher."
"You knew how dangerous that thing is and didn't prepare for the chance someone might want to steal it?!" Kazuhamon asked. "Yeah, "I see all" my ass miss "fortune teller"!"
"Kazuhamon, calm down!" Ami said.
"She's right, it's our fault." Sayo said from the other end of the call. "We insisted we'd be able to protect the city while all of you were gone, and look what happened."
"No." Mirei replied. "I should have anticipated that someone as twisted as BoltBoutamon wouldn't be able to resist the chance to get his hands on the Brave Snatcher. This lapse in memory proves that I have over relied on my future seeing ability to a fault...and now we all pay the price for my arrogance."
"Look, we can debate on who's at fault here all day, but it won't change anything!" Himari said. "If we're going to rescue Darcmon we need to take action!"
"You're right Himari." Takuto nodded. "First things first, let's get back to the city. Everyone's wiped out from fighting Examon."
"Seems like a good course of action." Takumi nodded. "We can discuss our next move with the others."
"We're on our way back Mirei." Shiki said.
"Be quick everyone." Mirei hung up.
"Let's go!" Nokia said. "We need to find out where they took Darcmon!"
"You guys go on ahead."
Everyone looked at Alphamon. "Huh?" Ami blinked. "What's wrong?"
"There's something I would like to confirm. Don't worry, I'll be back soon."
"If you're staying, so am I." Kyoko replied smiling. "I am your partner after all."
"Well…okay. Just call us if something happens." Ami replied. The team then took their leave and Alphamon and Kyoko watched them go as they stood there quietly.
Once they were out of sight, Kyoko spoke up. "We're not alone, are we?"
"Mmm." Alphamon glanced behind her. "You might as well show yourself. You should have learned from our last encounter that you can't hide your presence from me with that little trick."
"Hmph. So, it would seem." The sounds of inputs being made in a digital menu were heard and Kiryu appeared with BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon as he deactivated Stealth Hide.
Kyoko looked at him. "You…you're Kiryu Tenjo."
"You know me? I have no recollection of us meeting before."
"Your father showed me a picture of you."
"Father? Why would-
"He came to my agency hiring me to look for you. Imagine my surprise when Takumi and Ami told me you were here the whole time."
Kiryu sighed looking away. "I see…of course he would worry…"
"How long have you been there?"
"We observed the battle that took place here." CresGarurumon replied.
"Is that so?" Alphamon asked. "I thought I felt a presence watching us for a while now."
"Then I suppose I should thank you for not giving us away to your allies." Kiryu said.
"And I suppose I should thank you for giving my assistants and their friends what they needed to rescue me…even if the whole situation was a result of that cowardly trap you used on me."
"Cowardly"?"
"Were you expecting me to complement that underhanded tactic? It caused me quite a bit of trouble I must say."
Kiryu raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't expecting the "Legendary 13th Royal Knight" to sound like a child who doesn't want to admit she lost. Perhaps you'd like to show me this rulebook you seem to think the battlefield must always abide?"
"We heard the details." BlitzGreymon folded his arms. "You got cocky because you felt Kiryu and the others didn't fully understand Digimon. You have yourself alone to blame for your own carelessness."
Kyoko put a hand on her hip and looked at Alphamon. "To be fair you did say you've come to understand us humans a great deal. By that logic you should have been fully aware of what they were capable off. Either way, blaming others won't be as beneficial as learning from your own mistakes."
Alphamon rubbed her chin with her thumb. "Hmm…That's fair I guess."
"In any case, just so we're clear I did not give them the program because I wanted to save you, Alphamon." Kiryu said.
"Then why'd you help them?"
Kiryu's gaze lowered. "…Out of respect for Takumi Aiba. Who wanted you back no matter what. …And a man who suffered loss the way I have. And is bound to an oath similar to mine."
"Respect you say?" Alphamon asked. "And here it was my understanding you hatted my assistants as much as you did Yuuko regarding the Eaters."
"I thought I did but…Takumi and Ami…they were both children who had no idea what was happening at the time. Who were unaware of what they were doing. They were even younger than Subaru was when he went to Under Zero. Faulting those two for what happened back then…would be the same thing as faulting Subaru for his actions on that day…"
"I see you're starting to see the bigger picture." Kyoko said. "That's good. Broadening your vision and considering other perspectives is important for one's growth."
"If only everyone could open up to other perspectives that easily." Alphamon said. "Then there would be no war."
"Have you considered opening up to the perspective of others?" Kiryu asked. "The way I see it, you're dead set on going against the Next Order."
"I understand Leopardmon's perspective. And I understand it's simply wrong."
Kiryu scoffed. "Pfft. And therefore, everything you do is right? Seems Crusadermon was right about you Alphamon."
"Oh? And what did my former comrade have to say about me?"
"That for a childish coward who had a couple of human kids do her job which she never took seriously for her the whole time your damn ego is somehow through the roof."
Kyoko barely held back a snicker. "…Hmm. Sounds about right." Alphamon said. "Crusadermon was never one to show tact."
"From what I've observed and been informed about from other Digimon in the Next Order and the Resistance it's not inaccurate either."
Alphamon stood there for a moment before replying. "…Perhaps you're right. It's true that I did rely heavily on Takumi and Ami during the last reality. And perhaps I didn't meet every matter I had them face with as much seriousness as I should."
"Oh?" CresGarurumon raised an eyebrow. "Between you, Crusadermon and Leopardmon I was starting to think the great Royal Knights were too proud to admit their shortcomings."
"Please, when did I ever say I was perfect? Unlike Leopardmon and Crusadermon I can admit that I make mistakes and errors in judgment. Incidentally, is Crusadermon really one to talk when it comes to being childish, cowardly, egotistic or over reliant on others?"
"Ha!" Kiryu smirked as his Digimon chuckled. "No argument there."
"I wounder…" Kyoko said. "Is ego or over relying on people really so bad?"
"What do you mean? I'm pretty sure pride is said to be a sin. Hence Lucemon."
"Without pride one cannot exert confidence. Yes, pride comes before a fall, but it also gives us faith in ourselves and allows us to believe we can do what needs to be done. Of course, it is important not to get carried away with that. I had to learn that the hard way when I was a kid. But I became a better person from that. And it was Alphamon's pride that gave her the confident aura she needed for Takumi and Ami to trust her. Even when her secret was out."
"And do you know why I relied on those two so much?" Alphamon asked. "As I said, I am not perfect. The Royal Knights are one thing. But the Eaters. The Digital Shifts. Kyoko's detective work. If I tried to tackle that all on my own, I would have failed. Not just my duties, but both our worlds. Perhaps I could have been a little more hands-on with my choice of approach at times, but this led to Takumi and Ami becoming as strong as the are now. Think about it. This time for most of this war, I wasn't there for them not simply because I chose not to. I had no choice but to leave it to them. And because they were as strong as I made them, they were ready."
"Exactly." Kyoko smiled. "If it weren't for Alphamon's confidence you call "ego" and the trust you call "over reliance", there would be no hope at all. That's how Takumi and Ami reverted the calamity and saved everyone. Including your brother."
"Subaru…you think he was "saved"?" Kiryu leered. "I assure you that if you saw how he is right now you would think very differently!"
"If that's the case, you should be with him right now. Not leaving him alone while you sulk out here."
"Subaru is safe as he can be right now. My friends and my father are there for him…besides…I still don't know how I can save him. And I vowed not to return until I do so…"
"Is that so?" Alphamon asked. "So, you won't go back because of you over relying on your friends and father to do your job for you and your pride?"
"You've got some nerve!" BlitzGreymon growled.
CresGarurumon pointed his spear at the knight. "Don't you DARE compare Kiryu's sorrow to your laziness you incompetent little-
"Enough." Kiryu held up his hand.
"But…very well." CresGarurumon lowered his weapon.
Kiryu looked at Kyoko and Alphamon. "…I noticed you haven't questioned what I am doing here."
"Mabe not, but I for one am curious. It clearly was not to aid or hinder us." Alphamon replied.
"Takumi and Ami made it sound like you two always had the answer to everything." Kiryu turned to the side and looked at the clouds. "If that is really the case…then please tell me…How do I heal Subaru's heart? How do I…how do I save him? All I wanted was to keep him safe and happy… and now it seems like no matter how hard I try he is bound to suffer…"
Kyoko closed her eyes. "…Sorry Kiryu, but even we don't know everything. Like I told Takumi when Ami was taken, no matter how much others try to sympathise or empathise, only you know your own regret and pain. However…maybe the issue isn't really your brother. …Maybe it's you."
Kiryu turned to her. "What?"
"Regret owns you now. And you continue to linger in it. In the dark corner. Surrounded by the shadows of your past. Only you can make the choice to step back into the light Kiryu. But you're choosing to stay in the dark. It is not Crusadermon or Yuuko who is keeping you trapped in hate and sadness. That's all you. That is the difference between you and Takumi. He's looking towards the future. To become the master of it. You're still stuck in the past."
Kiryu glared. "Oh really? And what does that make you two who just let him and his sister do everything for you in this "future" of yours?"
Kyoko closed her eyes. "Alphamon and I…We are the beginning."
Alphamon nodded. "We are what set him and the others into motion. To decide the future."
Kiryu laughed. "The beginning of the future" they say."
"Ha. Your ego really is boundless!" BlitzGreymon said.
"Indeed." CresGarurumon added. "So, what, you two are the saviours that decided the fate of the heroes who will decide what happens next? All their accomplishments and achievements are yours by extension?"
"Not at all." Kyoko replied. "We're simply helping others realise their own potential. Takumi, Ami and those kids are the protagonists of this story producing the miracles. We're just the side characters helping them when they need it along the way. They…they are the hope of this world."
"Hope…do you really think such a thing matters now?" Kiryu asked. "In this world and our human world where good lives are always delt injustices through no fault of their own? Where people lose everything?!"
"Will you stop with the pessimistic crap already?"
A new voice alerted everyone to two approaching Digimon. Kiryu was the most surprised. "Agunimon…Lobomon…"
"How much did you two hear?" CresGarurumon asked.
"All we needed to." Lobomon replied.
"How did you know to-
"Call it a hunch." Agunimon replied cutting off BlitzGreymon. He then looked at Kyoko and Alphamon. "Thank you both. You should head back to the city before the others worry."
"And you two?" Alphamon asked.
"We'll be right back. We just have something important we need to tell this guy."
"Very well." Kyoko replied before walking towards the city with Alphamon.
The Royal Knight stopped to give Kiryu one more glance. "One more word of advice Kiryu. Crusadermon used you by feeding you lies and proved to be very different from who you though she was. Who's to say she's the only one in the Next Order who lied to you? You might want to look into the past actions of the Next Order."
"And one more word of advice from me." Kyoko said. "You and Takumi are more similar than you think. So, consider…what enabled him to save what he held dear? What does he have that you don't?" She and Alphamon left the human and his Digimon alone with Agunimon and Lobobmon.
Leopardmon stood with Dynasmon. "Well done Malevolent Fist."
"I strive to please your majesty…" BoltBoutamon bowed. Behind him Darcmon was on her knees trussed in the chains of two LadyDevimon.
"Both the Brave Snatcher and the last Sovereign DigiCore…losing Cloud Sanctuary was a small price to pay for this." Dynasmon added. "Still...to think the Resistance would actually take Brave Snatcher from the Dark Area just to get to us…"
"The ways of those who do not accept the new order of the Digital World are indeed savage." Leopardmon said.
"And now it is ours." BoltBoutamon said. "I've been thinking of a few ways we can make use of this. Perhaps it can help us with Project Nexus."
"Keep them in the back of your mind for now. First proceed with your plan regarding Darcmon. We must hurry and get started."
"Of course." BoltBoutamon approached Darcmon who was trying to struggle out of the chains. "You hear that Darcmon? I got big plans for you. Well, more accurately the Core, but whatever."
Darcmon stood up only for one of the LadyDevimon to kick her in the back of the leg dropping her back down to her knees. "You still haven't given up on that? You fools tired everything already. The DigiCore cannot be removed from me."
"Oh, don't you worry. I found a loophole around that issue."
Back in the city the team once again assembled at the War Table. "Do we have any idea where they have taken her?" Magnamon asked.
"We're doing everything we can." Mirei replied. "But I doubt they'll make it easy to find them."
"Do whatever it takes Mirei." Alphamon said. "Leopardmon's plan is approaching its endgame. We still have no idea what it is he is scheming."
"I hate this…" Kouta growled. "Darcmon is captured, the Next Order is about to make their final play, and we can't do anything!?"
"All we can do is wait and prepare the best we can." Kyoko replied.
"She's right." Agunimon said as he and Lobomon entered the room. "The true final battle is approaching, and we cannot afford to be caught unprepared. Now's not the time to lose our nerve."
"Agunimon! Lobomon!" Shoma gasped. "Where have you two been?"
Kyoko turned to the two. "Had a little heart-to-heart?"
Agunimon closed his eyes as Lobomon glanced away. "You could say that." The Warrior of Light replied.
Agunimon and Lobomon were as still as statues after Alphamon and Kyoko left. Kiryu and his Digimon stared at them. "Well?" Kiru finally spoke. "What is it you want to tell me?"
Agunimon sighed. "…Ever since we encountered you at that keep Lobomon and I have slowly been regaining our memoires of the previous reality."
"And now…we finally remember everything." Lobomon said. "Which is why we can tell you this without a shred of doubt. Subaru…loved you. More then you could ever know."
"He told us as much." Agunimon said. "You were always by his side, protecting him. Caring for him. With his mother gone he didn't think he could make it through life without the big brother who made him happy. There were a lot of painful things in his life…most of which you shielded him from…but the most painful moment…was when he lashed out at you on that day you left Zaxon."
Kiryu quietly spoke up. "I…I also said something to him I regret that day…"
"He knew you didn't mean any harm." Lobomon shook his head. "You were looking out for him, same as always. What's more is he also grew suspicious of Yuugo with his actions. He too worried about his self-righteousness causing trouble."
"So, you're saying…"
"He wanted to leave with you." Agunimon said. "Deep down…"
Kiryu looked down. "Then that means…me leaving Zaxon was the right choice…that we should have quit together…but then why?! Why did he choose to stay with that bumbling buffoon!? I could have taken him with me! Kept him safe from the madness that idiot was about to charge into! All I wanted was to protect him! No matter the price! I would sell my soul to the devil himself in an instant so long as he-
"Because that's not what he wanted!" Kiryu looked back at Agunimon as he shouted clenching his fists. "You daft fool…he was your brother and was by your side the whole time! How could you not see it?!"
"Subaru was grateful for you caring for him all his life…" Lobomon said. "But at the same time, he hatted it! You were always caring for him and never yourself! People would call you over-bearing and foolish for your behavior, but you didn't care! People would fear you for lashing out on anyone that did him harm, but you didn't care! Subaru felt powerless thinking you protecting him all his life made yours miserable! That's why he felt that as long as you had to protect and worry over him you can never have a good life!"
"And if your human world would never allow you to be free of worries, then maybe EDEN would! If EDEN really did change into a place where everyone can be safe and happy forever, then you would no longer have to look after him! That you can worry about yourself and find your own happiness! THAT'S why Subaru went with Zaxon to seize Under Zero!"
Kiryu's eyes widened. There was empty silence after he heard this. Lobomon waited a bit longer for him to say something before carrying on the conversation himself. "He thought that if EDEN became a place where both of you were happy…then he might finally see you genuinely smile! That you could make friends and find happiness like he did! And if the EDEN Yuugo made proved not to be that…then he was prepared to go as far as stab him in the back and take control of EDEN himself so he could make it so!"
"All that boy wanted…all he TRULY wanted from you…was to be free from your burden!"
Kiryu was still shocked. He quietly stared down. "…Subaru…"
"Don't you see now?" Lobomon asked. "He loved the brother that did whatever it took to make him happy…and wanted to pay him back! Return the kindness and happiness he gave him his entire life! And now even that has been taken from him!"
"Taking part of this war for revenge…drowning yourself in hate and sorrow…" Agunimon frowned. "I don't see the Subaru's brother Kiryu we once knew when I look at you now…even without that damn mask, all I see is Brother Sorrow! How can you expect Subaru to be happy when you're making yourself suffer further!?"
"I…am making him suffer…?" Kiryu murmured.
"It's not too late Kiryu. The answer to healing Subaru isn't in this world. It's you."
"Go back to your world." Lobomon said. "Continue caring for Subaru…but do not neglect your own wellbeing and life. Then maybe someday…he can go back to smiling…along with you."
"That is our wish to you…as Subaru's partners. …And your friends." Agunimon turned around. "The two of us want to meet him again someday…after he is finally free from his nightmare." The two warriors walked away.
A lone tear rolled down Kiryu's face and hit the ground. "Subaru…I…"
Agunimon sighed. "…We did all we could. We'll have to wait and see what happens next."
"What's this about?" Keisuke asked tilting his head.
"Don't worry about it." Lobomon replied. "In any event we should prepare the best we can. After all, we're better off departing the moment we find Leopardmon."
"I concur." Mirei nodded. "Everyone, go do what you must. Also…BeelStarmon."
"Yes?"
"Come see me in the lab latter. There is a possibility I want to discuss with you."
"So…this is it, huh?" Takuto asked. He and Shiki were sitting over the edge of the city overlooking the world below.
Takumi and stood next to them with Ami right beside him. "Yeah. We're going to defeat Leopardmon and put an end to his plans and the Next Order…or die trying."
"Heh. "Die trying" my foot. We're getting through this. All of us together."
Ami giggled. "And people call me optimistic. I could learn from you."
"I think both of us learned a lot of things from Takuto and his group during this war." Takumi replied.
Shiki looked up at him. "You mean like EXE?"
"There's that too. But you also thought us how it's not impossible for humans and Digimon to coexist."
"And here I thought you already knew that." Takuto grinned.
"After our worlds separated, and everything we did for that cause was undone, I started to lose hope for that...but after hearing your story...how you not only support Digimon...but live with them...I'm starting to think we can make it happen again."
"Me too!" Ami smiled. "Thinking about Flotia makes me want to bring our world closer to Digimon even more! Once this is over, I'll do whatever to takes to make it happen."
"I hope you're not just doing it to atone for the Eater incident." Shiki said. "You two have done so much in this world alone. You don't have to prove anything."
"That's part of it...but being with Digimon...it made me happy. Made me strong. And I just think it will make other people happy and strong too...that's what daddy wanted to do with his life. That's why he studied cognitive science...now that he's not here...I want to make it happen for him."
"Me too." Takumi smiled then looked at Takuto and Shiki. "Thank you both. You showed us that it's never too late to make that dream a reality."
"Ah it was nothing." Takuto replied. "Besides, you two taught us things too."
"Really?" Ami asked. "Like what?"
"All our time in Flotia we've spent with Digimon we were content with living in the moment worrying only about the present. But you two taught us how important it is to think about the future."
"You two are working towards what you want to become." Shiki added. "Takuto and I never thought about that until now. Yeah, it is a scary thought...but it doesn't help to look away from the inevitable..."
Ami stared at them. "Takuto...Shiki..."
Takumi smiled at them. "So have you decided what you're going to do for your future?"
Takuto stood up and turned around to smile at him. "I'm going to become a researcher and study the boundaries between the human and Digital Worlds! Someday I'm going to make it so that those who want to peacefully coexist with Digimon can do so! Maybe someday anyone can come and go into our Digital World and humans and Digimon can coexist! After all, we grow alongside our Digimon right? If I can bring us together then it'll be all the better for everyone!"
"Takuto..." Takumi put his hands on his hips. "I guess your choice is similar to ours."
"Yeah. When Yuuko decided that's what she wanted to make EDEN I knew this was what I wanted to do too."
Ami nodded. "It won't be easy...but I'm sure you'll find a way. What about you Shiki?"
It was Shiki's turn to stand up and turn around to smile. "Me...I want to help protect those who need help. To make sure nobody goes through what Shoma and Luche did ever again. When I heard of all the people and Digimon you and Takumi helped it gave me an idea. I want to be a cyber crime investigator!"
"Also similar to us." Ami giggled. "Shiki...you have a good heart and want to do right for others. I'm sure you can make that dream come true."
"I agree." Takumi nodded. "You'll have to work hard for it...but that's nothing new to you, is it? And if Takuto does make it so that humans and Digimon come together, your world will need more people like you."
"Thanks."
"You know..." Takuto smiled. "Mameo said the four of us were alike. Maybe that's why we chose similar paths."
"It's the destiny we have chosen." Takumi replied.
"And we'll see it through." Ami said.
"We'll see it through together." When Rapidmon Armor spoke, the group turned around to look at him along with all of Takumi, Ami, Takuto, and Shiki's Digimon.
"We're your partners." Nova said. "No matter how hard the worlds try to tear us apart we will always find our way back together."
"And together we will make your dreams come true." Rosemon Burst Mode smiled.
Skyla nodded. "We're on your side. Always."
"Whatever you want to accomplish." The ten Digimon spoke together. "We will be with you. Now and forever."
Takumi smiled. "Thank you everyone. We're going to be counting on you once this is all over."
"When this is over..." Takuto frowned. "Yeah...The two of us and our gang will have to go back to our own world soon."
"Seems that way." Ami added. "I'm going to miss working with you all..."
"Me too." Shiki smiled. "But I'm also glad you'll soon be free to pursue your own goals. Just like us."
"Shiki..."
Takuto smiled to Takumi. "Well, let's not get all emo before the final fight. Just remember that we're going all the way with you guys."
Takumi smiled back. "Yeah. I'm counting on you all."
BeelStarmon gasped. "Are...are you serious?!"
"It is only a theory of mine." Mirei replied. "The odds of it succeeding are roughly 12%...I probably shouldn't get your hopes up...but of you can succeed the help we can gain might be well worth it."
"We must try." Gundramon said. "If there is even a slight chance, we can...we owe it to..."
"Tell us what we need to do!" BeelStarmon said.
Mirei held up her hand and an X-Antibody appeared. "Take this. I will send you instructions on what to do while you make your way to your destination. Agunimon and his team will guide you since they've been there before."
BeelStarmon took the X-Antibody. "We will leave immediately."
"Make haste. We will move out once we find Leopardmon. If that happens before you return, I will send you our location."
"Alrighty." MagnaKidmon said. "See y'all on the other side."
As the Three Muketeers left the room Yuugo entered. "You called Mirei?"
"Yuugo. As you know we retrieved two more X-Antibodies from our last mission. One from Cherubimon and one from Examon. I just gave BeelStarmon one for something I wanted her to confirm, but I was thinking we should give the other to Craniamon."
"To me?" Yuugo's partner asked.
"Between Yukimura, Dynasmon, Crusadermon and Leopardmon, we have seen that Royal Knights gain great power from the X-Antibodies and adapt to them quickly."
"Why give it to us over Omegamon and Alphamon?" Yuugo asked.
"Nokia and Omegamon have their own new form of power." Mirei replied. "And it would do Alphamon no good as she already possesses the X-Antibody herself."
Yuugo looked at Craniamon. "What do you think pal? You up to this?"
"If it will increase our odds of stopping Leopardmon, then I am ready to do whatever it takes."
"Alright." Yuugo turned to Mirei. "Let's do this."
"Good. I shall begin the installation at once."
As Mirei started typing into her laptop Yuugo put a hand on his hip. "So, what's this thing you sent BeelStarmon to so?"
"Nothing much. I'm just curious if we can pull off a last-minute recruit."
CresGarurumon let go of BlitzGreymon's arms as he dropped to the ground. "Well...here we are."
BlitzGreymon deactivated his thrusters and dropped to the ground next to him. "I did not think we would be returning here after our last mission here."
"Not what I had expected either." Kiryu replied. The three looked up and a tall tower. "But this may be the best way to get the answers we want. Let's hope there are still traces of that idiot to salvage in there."
Another Cyber Sleuth/Next Order protag bonding moment. Some more development for my OC, some Next Order scheming and an X-Antibody for Craniamon. Not much this chapter but stay tuned for what Leopardmon is cooking.
