"Day appears to be turning night,"
was the first thought that came from this Aussie Shepherd's mind. Peaceful, kind, and caring- all you could want from a teacher. In her spare time, she sung, practicing a guitar. She lived in Brisbane, Australia, in a small, but quaint, cottage. Her students quite enjoyed her presence. Their parents had quite enjoyed her teaching. She encouraged her students to use their imaginations.
However, Calypso had wanted to go out for some fresh air. "A chance for a bit of time to catch up with familiar friends!" she said. She placed her guitar back to its enclosure, keeping it in there until her return.
She quickly grabbed her scarf, then went out the door. She preferred not to take a car, but to instead walk. Maybe a bike, if necessary. Despite the warm atmosphere in Brisbane, she had always preferred that scarf. She had always said that the scarf had reminded her of peace and tranquility.
The city itself was quite quiet this time of day. Her steps were careful. She had made sure to check for any puddles.
She then stopped at a local park. Her fur was quite a bit hot, though she figured it'd cool down later in the afternoon. A friend of hers came by. A bronze and brown-ish Irish Terrier. While his real name had already been known to Calypso, she stilled preferred to call him "Busker". He spent time tutoring children in instruments or performing as a semi-accredited local musician.
"Hello, Callie! How was your lesson today?" asked the nearsighted musician.
"Quite good!" the teacher responded back.
The two exchanged pleasantries. They've always been close to each other since preschool. Maybe longer. They're constantly with each other, some would say. However, this time was different.
"Sometimes, I question if you play to the tune of my own heartstrings." asked Calypso. This was something her and Busker did often: play flirting. However, this time was different. It wasn't their regular play-flirting.
"You've taught me the right notes, and your lyrics by design." responded Busker. He had however, noticed that Calypso had a bit of meaning behind those words. Normally, she and him play like this often, both sides even acknowledging it directly. But this time, both had carried seriousness.
Calypso, however, kept with this play flirting for a few more hours, noticing a slight blush in her cheeks. Eventually, the two left, with a bit of a grin on both their faces.
Neither of them had noticed, but there were genuine feelings behind the other's statements.
And suddenly, their play love turned into genuine love.
