Hiraga Saito. A seventeen-year-old boy who was in his second year of high school.

Across the board, he was average, except for one simple fact... He had never had a girlfriend in those seventeen years of life, just like a different boy who he would soon come to know well.

Most people thought of Saito as not being the sharpest tool in the shed, but that helped him in the long run since he wasn't really bothered by accidents that happened, and just accepted things fairly quickly.

When he saw that magic was indeed real, with Kai flying around, he made a fuss, but compared to a normal person, he was completely composed.

Before arriving to another world, and becoming Louise's familiar, he was on his way home after having his computer repaired. He was really happy since it had been quite some time since it was last functional.

While walking down a busy street in the middle of Tokyo, he saw something odd. It was an oval green mirror in the middle of the street, and, for some reason, no one else seemed to notice it. He rubbed his eyes before approaching it. Curiosity got the better of him when he touched the mirror, but it quickly reacted to his touch and it seemed to wrap around his hand. The moment he tried to pull his hand out, it started pulling him in.

He screamed for help, but for some reason, no one seemed to notice him. After a moment, all that was left was his computer lying on the ground.

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

Back where we left off before...

Kai and Saito sat chained to a wall because of their little escape attempt, trying to explain their situation to Louise.

She looked at the two of them, confused. "Earth?"

Kai had an angry look on his face while grabbing at the chains. "Yeah, till we were summoned by you, I was walking around town on Earth."

Saito sat with his legs crossed. "And I was walking around Tokyo, in Japan, on Earth!"

Louise crossed her arms. "I don't believe you two. How could another world exist?"

Widely gesturing about, Kai started to complain. "I don't wanna believe it either! But what I really wanna know is," Kai pulled his new tail from his pants. "Why do I have a tail?!"

"It could be a special power you've gained from becoming a familiar, like how some cat familiars can talk." Louise at least seemed somewhat interested.

Kai let out a disappointed sigh. "Aw man... why couldn't I get anything cool... Anyways it doesn't matter, just send us back to where we came from!"

"Impossible."

"That's bull-" Louise interrupted Kai by throwing her cape onto his face.

"No matter where you come from, the contract is absolute... even if the contract was formed on a different spot..." Louise's face got red as she got annoyed.

"And another thing! You kissed me! That was my first kiss!" Kai was starting to get angrier and angrier.

"You're the one who moved! If you had just stayed still it would have worked out better for us both, you dog!" Louise angrily took off her shirt and skirt, throwing them directly at Kai.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Kai covered his eyes in embarrassment, and Saito quickly did the same.

"I'm getting changed for bed." With a snap of her fingers, the unnatural light in the room dimmed down. It seems that even lights were using magic.

"Don't do that while we're around!" Kai's voice changed from anger to mostly embarrassment.

Louise seemed genuinely confused. "Why?"

Saito asked for Kai, but his voice was shaky with embarrassment as well. "You don't care if guys see you like that?"

"Guys? You two are just familiars."

The two boys felt their pride shatter. It didn't really even matter, but a girl didn't even see them as actual people.

While the two boys tried to fix their shattered pride, a key was tossed to Saito's feet. "Don't run away again, and have that all washed for me." Louise lay down in her bed, trying her best to get some shut-eye.

Saito grabbed a piece of clothing, ready to yell, but stopped. "Annoying... yet enjoyable..."

Kai quickly turned his head toward Saito. "The hell...? Hey! Louise! I'm not gonna do your laundry-!"

"Who do you think is going to take care of you both?" Kai instantly shut up. "You're my familiars. Housekeeping, laundry, errands... Those are all chores for you both. Have my clothes ready by tomorrow morning. Don't worry. As long as you do your job, you'll be fed."

Kai was about to protest again, but he heard Louise snoring. "Damn it... of all the lousy... Damn my luck..." Kai turned toward Saito. "Alright, which one of us is doing laundry?"

"I don't want to."

"Well, neither do I."

The two boys pondered it for a moment, and at the same time, they raised their fists toward each other. Their voices rang out in unison. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

ㅤㅤ

The next morning, a grumpy Kai ripped the blanket off of Louise, which alarmed her. There was some stranger right in front of her... but due to her sleepiness, she didn't have the energy to do anything.

"Who are you?"

Kai didn't answer her and threw her folded clothes to Louise. "There, it's all washed."

Louise sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Right, I summoned you as one of my familiars yesterday, didn't I?"

"Yeah, ya did..." Kai started to grumble to himself while turning to wake Saito up.

"Ahem."

"What?" He let out a whining tone since most of last night he had tried to figure out where to wash the clothes. Eventually, he found a small fountain, but he swore he got frostbite from how cold it was.

Louise threw the clothes back at Kai. "Dress me."

"You aren't a baby, do it yourself!"

Louise had an annoyed look on her face. "When they have servants, nobles never dress themselves!"

"A noble? You? Don't make me-"

Louise turned her head with a 'Hmph'. "Fine then, no food for you."

Kai reluctantly started to dress her. After being dressed, Louise nudged the sleeping Saito with her foot. "Wake up. We're going."

Saito rubbed his eyes, despite getting more sleep than Kai, it wasn't much better since he slept on a pile of hay. "Wha...? Where?"

"Breakfast."

ㅤㅤ

The dining hall in the academy was the largest part of the entire campus, with three extremely long tables parallel to each other within. Each one could easily fit a few hundred students. Louise, along with Kai and Saito behind her, walked to the middle table, which was presumably for the second-year students.

Kai looked around at the grand room and spotted teachers chattering on an upper level of the dining hall.

"Woah, what a feast!" Saito looked at the table with his mouth practically watering.

Louise snappishly said, "Pull the seat back already." Her mood was sour as always. "You're so inconsiderate."

Kai let out a cough. "Look who's talkin'."

Her head instantly turned toward him. "What was that?"

"Oh, nothing."

Saito ignored the hostility between those two and pulled the chair back for Louise. He didn't even get so much as a thank you.

Kai and Saito both took chairs from both sides of Louise. The food in front of them looked simply divine.

Louise kicked Kai, making him yelp, which in turn made Saito look over. They saw Louise point to the ground.

The two boys followed where she pointed and saw... two dingy-looking plates on the ground.

"Only nobles sit here. Commoners sit there."

Kai's eye started twitching. "What?!" Before he could cause some sort of commotion, he heard laughing from students around, and not wanting to embarrass himself, he sat on the ground. Saito was there waiting for him, it seemed as though Saito was much more of a go-with-the-flow type of guy.

ㅤㅤ

On the plates in front of Kai and Saito was a single stale piece of bread. They could only longingly gaze at the feast in front of the nobles.

"Oh, Great Founder Brimir, and our lady, the Queen, we thank you for this humble meal that you have graciously provided us this morning."

All of the nobles pulled their hands together and offered a prayer before their food.

Kai nudged Saito with his elbow. "If anyone's got a humble meal, it'd be us."

Saito nodded sadly as he nibbled on his bread.

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

Mister Colbert, a humble teacher who had dedicated a good twenty years to Tristain's Magic Academy was searching around in the library. Ever since the Springtime Familiar Summoning, he had been concerned about the familiars that Louise had summoned. More precisely, he was concerned about the runes on their left hands, and the tail on the one in red.

Even searching through the deepest depths of the library he couldn't find many clues, but there was still one section he had yet to check. The restricted section of the library may have what they were looking for.

He soon found an almost completely destroyed book about the familiars of the Founder Brimir. Skimming through the book he had found something. He compared the picture in the book to the sketch he had made of the two boys' runes.

"Ah!" He was surprised. It was the exact same... but he wasn't done quite yet. He had to find out what that tail was on that boy.

Going further into the restricted section, he found books that crumbled to dust as he touched them, but he had eventually found one intact enough to somewhat read. Skimming through the pages he found a picture of a figure. It looked human but with that same monkey-like tail. Only a few words were still legible, but there was one he hadn't ever seen before.

"...Saiyan?"

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

After breakfast, the trio of Kai, Louise, and Saito walked outside.

"Usually familiars stay outside during meals, but I was specially allowed to let you both stay with me." Her haughty tone annoyed Kai to no end.

"I'd probably be better off separated..." Kai looked over and saw a bunch of nobles with a wide range of animals. "What's everybody doin?"

"Oh, right. The second years don't have class today. They're building relationships with their familiars."

Kai let out a big sigh. "God I hope we don't have to do that."

A voice rang out from behind the trio. "Hey." They all turned and Saito jumped back seeing a giant salamander.

"Wah! A red crocodile!"

There was a girl right next to the salamander, it was the same one who helped catch Kai and Saito last night. "Fufu... Have you never seen a salamander before?" She seemed to be entertained by Saito's panic.

"Keep that thing on a leash! It's dangerous!" Despite no movement from the salamander, Saito was still panicked.

The redhead's voice was calm and collected. She seemed fairly mature. "It's fine. A familiar with a contract is obedient to its master. It wouldn't attack anyone, or say... run away. Right, Flame?"

The salamander let out a 'Kiryuu' as the girl gave Louise a sly smile.

Louise instantly got angry. "Mind your own business!"

The girl stood up, and she towered over Louise, about the same height as Kai and Saito. "Hey, Louise, maybe you just brought in a commoner from the streets but accidentally got two. If you did, you concealed it pretty well with those explosions."

Louise went on the defensive. "No, I did the summoning properly, but they just appeared!"

The redhead flipped her hair. "Well, it's a perfect match for the Zero Louise. Ohohoho!"

"What's wrong with that woman?" Louise grit her teeth while she glared daggers at that girl. She directed her anger toward the closest person, who had brought her the most embarrassment so far with the kiss fiasco, Kai. "What are you doing standing around?! Bring me some tea or something!"

Kai held his tongue and started walking away, with Saito quickly following him.

"Jeez, she didn't need to be so rude to you." Saito felt a little annoyed.

Kai surprisingly shrugged. "Eh, that girl was being real rude... so I kinda get it."

"Still, she could be a little nicer... Wah!" Out of nowhere, a floating eyeball thing floated in front of Saito, startling him. He jumped back a little and bumped into a girl which made her drop a plate she was holding. "Ah! I'm sorry."

The girl, who looked like a maid, bent down to pick up what she had dropped. "Oh no, I'm fine."

Saito reached down to pick up what was dropped. It seemed to be a slice of cake. As he reached down, his hand touched the maid's, and they both recoiled with a slight blush.

"Ah, I'm sorry." The girl seemed really shy.

"No, it was my fault." Saito picked up the slice of cake and set it on the plate. The maid noticed the strange markings on Saito's left hand.

"Excuse me, would you be one of the familiars that Miss Vallière summoned yesterday?"

Saito pointed to himself like he was famous. "You know about me?"

"Well, it's unheard of that a commoner was summoned as a familiar, let alone two."

Saito scratched his cheek. "Well, I really don't get this commoner and noble stuff."

"People who can use magic are nobles, and everyone else are commoners."

Saito placed his fist into his hand. "Oh, now I get it! Are you a mage as well?"

"Absolutely not!" The girl almost seemed surprised that Saito would even think that. "My name is Siesta, and I'm just a maid here on campus. I'm a commoner, just like you."

Saito pointed his thumb to himself. "I'm Hiraga Saito. You can just call me Saito."

"Saito... That's a unique name."

A new voice caught Saito and Siesta's attention. "Oi." Looking over they saw it was a blonde boy with a blonde girl. "Is my cake here yet?"

"Y-Yes, right away." Siesta sounded almost scared.

Suddenly an idea sprouted in Saito's head. "Here, I'll take that for you." Saito grabbed the plate, with the dirty slice of cake, out of Siesta's hands.

"But, that's..."

Saito winked at her. "Don't worry about it."

As Saito went to deliver the dirty slice of cake, he saw Kai walking over to Guiche, with that girl from last night right next to him.

Saito walked closer to see what was happening.

Guiche looked like he was caught between a rock and a hard place. Katie, the girl from last night, went up to Guiche with big eyes. "I've been searching for you Lord Guiche."

He nervously laughed as the blonde girl next to him eyed him suspiciously.

"I thought I'd bring the souffle that I was talking about last night for tea time."

The blonde girl started to get angry. "Last night?"

"Well Montmorency, you see-"

He was cut off by Kai. "Man, ain't you lucky having two girls by your side."

"Y-You!"

"What? Am I wrong?" Kai faked being surprised, but a small smile was on his lips. This was payback for last night.

"Guiche... What is he talking about?" The blonde girl, Montmorency, was getting angrier.

"W-What are you talking about?! You're making these ladies get the wrong idea!" Since he was backed into a corner, Guiche directed his anger toward Kai.

Students started to gather around to see what the commotion was.

Saito decided to step forward as well. "What's wrong? You're the one who decided to date two girls."

Guiche's eyes widened as Katie and Montmorency stepped toward him.

"Dating us both?" Katie seemed heartbroken and on the verge of tears.

Montmorency on the other hand... "So you were cheating on me!" Her anger exploded.

"P-Please Montmorency. Do not let anger distort your beauty! This is some kind of mistake!"

Katie held Guiche's shoulder. "You're horrible! You said I was the only one!"

"B-Both of you, c-calm down..."

Katie and Montmorency both yelled at once. "You liar." The latter of the two smacked Guiche.

"Bwahaha!" Kai held back tears while leaning on Saito's shoulder. The two boys, along with most of the students, were laughing at Guiche. "You got dumped!"

Clenching his fist, Guiche stared directly at Kai and Saito. "It looks like you both don't know proper manners with nobles."

Kai took a look at Guiche's serious attitude and laughed even harder. Saito decided to respond to Guiche. "Unfortunately for you, we don't come from a place with that sort of stuff."

"Very well... I shall teach the two of you proper manners. I challenge you both to a duel."

Hearing the word duel, everyone started to go quiet.

"A duel?" Kai asked while wiping a few tears away.

"Exactly. A duel. You two are familiars, and beyond that mere commoners, yet you insulted me, and made two ladies cry!"

Saito smirked. "Cry? Those two looked pissed."

Guiche pulled out a rose and pointed it straight at Kai and Saito. "You two had better be ready! I'll wait for you both at Vestri Court." He flipped his hair and walked off.

ㅤㅤ

While Kai and Saito were about to ask where Vestri Court was, a short pink-haired girl suddenly pulled on the closest of the two boy's ears.

"Owowowow!" Unfortunately, it ended up being Kai. Mr. Zero Luck strikes again!

Louise seemed awfully happy to see them. "Just what do you two think you're doing?!"

While pulling Kai's ear, she grabbed Saito's sleeve and started pulling them. Before the pain got unbearable, Kai pulled Louise's hand off of his ear. "Jeez, what's your deal?"

"What were you idiots thinking?! Accepting a duel!? You're both going to apologize to Guiche. He may still forgive-"

"I'm gonna stop you right there short stack. I'm gonna have to say no, and by no, I mean hell no. I don't have a damn thing to apologize for." Kai was blunt and to the point.

She started getting angry. "You don't understand a thing! Commoners can't win against nobles. You'd be lucky if you only got hurt!"

Getting annoyed, Kai walked toward one of the students. "Hey, where's Vestri Court at?"

The chubby-looking student gleefully pointed toward the court. "It's over that way."

Kai raised a hand. "Thanks. Saito, you coming?"

"Yeah!" The two boys ran over to where Vestri Court was at.

Louise looked at the two boys with a panicked expression. "Wait...! God! They're familiars, yet they don't listen to a word I say!" She then chased after them with a defeated cry.

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

In the Headmaster's office, there were two people. Principal Osmond, an ancient-looking man, and his secretary, Miss Longueville, started working as his secretary at the beginning of the year.

It was a fairly nice day out, not too hot, no clouds in the sky... but all of a sudden Mr. Colbert rushed into the room with two ancient-looking books.

"Principal Osmond! Those commoner boys! They have runes that look exactly like this!" Colbert showed Osmond a picture of the runes from inside of one of the books.

Osmond's eyes widened when he saw the inscription, and he turned to his secretary. "Miss Longueville, I'm sorry, but..."

She understood. "Yes sir." She gave a small bow and left the room.

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

Back in Vestri Court...

A crowd of students was around three boys, those being Guiche, Kai, and Saito. Kai started stretching a little, and his hoodie was off. He and Saito had decided that it wouldn't be fair if they fought Guiche at the same time, so they would take turns fighting. They would only switch when they asked, or the other person fainted.

Guiche crossed his arms with a smug smile on his face. "I admire your courage since you didn't run away."

While rolling his shoulder Kai smiled. "Who'd run from a guy like you?"

"Wait!" Louise ran up to Guiche. If she wouldn't be able to convince Kai or Saito, she could try to convince Guiche. "Guiche cut it out already. Duels are against the rules!"

"Duels between two nobles are against the rules. They are mere commoners. There's no problem."

"T-That's only because nothing like this has ever happened..."

"Hm...? Louise, don't tell me that you've fallen for one of them."

"What?!" Louise got angry at the thought. "Who would even consider that?! I just don't want to see my familiars beaten to a pulp."

Kai leaned over to Saito. "No faith in us at all..."

"Not at all..."

The two boys sighed.

Guiche raised his rose. "It doesn't matter what you say! The duel has already started!"

As soon as Guiche finished yelling, Kai started running forward. Guiche had just said that the duel had started, so Kai would try and end it quick.

If I land a solid hit, he's going down. He's the type of guy that can't take a punch.

Seeing Kai run forward made Guiche smirk. He flicked his hair and swung his rose, making a petal fall down to the ground in front of Kai.

With a shining light, the petal soon transformed into a bronze Valkyrie statue with a spear. "My name is Guiche The Bronze, therefore a bronze Valkyrie will be your opponent."

Kai's eyes widened seeing the golem, and seeing a balled up fist he tried to dodge out of the way, but was way too slow. The golem's fist landed on Kai's stomach, knocking the wind out of him.

"Hrk!" Kai fell to his knees in that one blow. "Ch-Cheap shot..."

Guiche's smile widened as he looked down at Kai. "I'm a noble, so it'd only be appropriate for me to use magic."

Saito immediately ran to Kai's side. "Hey, he's using magic, so we should-"

"Nah, I got this..." Kai's breath was already ragged.

Louise was next to run up to him. "You idiot! Don't you get it? A commoner could never win against a noble!"

Kai pushed her out of the way. "I'm fine."

"Ho? It seems that that attack was too light." A wicked smile was plastered on Guiche's face.

Rolling his shoulders, Kai responded, "You just caught me off guard is all. That little doll of yours didn't hurt one bit!" Kai stuck out his tongue, which only angered Guiche more.

"Tch! Fine, let's do it your way."

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

Osmond took a closer look at the books Mr. Colbert had brought. "Are you sure you aren't mistaken and the two boys that Miss Vallière summoned have these runes?" His voice was serious.

"Yes, their runes and the runes in the book are the same."

"And... that boy, are you sure he had this tail?"

"I believe so, but Principal Osmond, what is a Saiyan?"

Osmond's eyes seemed distant. "A people from long ago... in some ways... they were worse than the elves..."

"W-Worse?!" Colbert's expression told Osmond that he was horrified.

Miss Longueville burst into the room exclaiming that there was a duel between Louise's familiars and Guiche Gramont.

"Principal Osmond, we have to stop this before he's killed!" Colbert had a panicked look on his face.

"When the boy was summoned, did he seem rowdy or violent?"

"N-No..."

Osmond stroked his beard. "Hm... We shall watch this duel, only intervening when necessary."

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

"Gah!" Kai coughed up some blood as he was punched by the golem. So far, Kai hadn't even been able to land a hit on the damned thing.

He shook his head to refocus, and the golem's fist was headed straight for his face. Kai dodged out of the way, and used his monkey tail to grab its arm. This was his chance to turn things around!

Kai curled up his right fist and slammed it straight into the golem's chest... But it didn't budge. Kai's jaw locked as he started backing away from it.

That wasn't a smart idea me...

Sorry about that me...

Kai whispered under his breath. "I gotta stop doing that." Right now he could only hold his right hand in agony. It was likely broken by the impact. However, the thoughtless golem didn't care to give Kai a break, and it slammed its fist straight into Kai's face, breaking his nose and launching him back.

Louise rushed to his side. "Kai!"

He could barely open one eye to see her.

"Guiche, please stop this!"

"Move away, Louise."

She turned her attention to the hurt Kai. Maybe now he'd understand that he couldn't win. "Isn't this enough, you fought enough. I've never seen a commoner like you." For some reason, Kai started smiling, which confused her.

"Man, you're real annoying, you know that?" Kai started to stand up, and then clutched his left arm with a grunt.

"Of course, it hurts! What are you thinking?!"

Kai looked at Louise's face, her face started to well up with tears. "What're you doin'? Crying?"

Louise shoved Kai. "I would never!"

"Ow!" Kai shook his head a little. Uh oh. Kai's vision started to go black. "Yo, Saito."

Most of the crowd turned their heads toward him since Kai was addressing him now. "Y-Yeah?"

"I'm tagging out for a bit. You got this." Kai started shuffling away and fell face first on the floor.

"Hmph, as I thought. Now then, do you plan to pick up where he left off, commoner?" Guiche's snobbishness was through the roof. He swung his wand, with a petal falling to the ground. The petal quickly shone a bright light and became a sword. "If you wish to fight, pick up that sword. If not... Say that you're sorry."

"Are you crazy!?" Louise started to panic.

"I'm not gonna apologize." Saito started moving closer and closer to the blade but was stopped by Louise.

"What are you doing?! If you take that, Guiche will get serious! And you've already seen what he's done when he wasn't serious! Listen, this is an order from your master, don't do it."

"I don't care if I sleep on the floor. I don't care if I don't get fed... but I'm not gonna kneel down and apologize if I don't want to!" Saito swiftly pulled the sword from the ground, and the runes on his left hand started glowing.

"You moron!"

The blade felt right at home in his hands, or... more that he felt as if he had held a blade like this a thousand times before.

Saito looked at himself in amazement. He felt like he could soar through the air, and break anything in his path.

When the Valkyrie rushed toward him, he felt like it was moving in slow motion, and with one swift slice of the sword, the Valkyrie was cut in two. The entire crowd was taken aback and then an uproar wondering what had happened arose.

Starting to panic seeing that this commoner was different, Guiche started swinging his rose more and more to summon as many Valkyries as he could, but they only served to somewhat slow Saito down.

Saito's technique with the blade far outpaced the golems, but every so often he would still get hit. The impact hurt, but... it was as if he was getting lightly slapped.

As the fight dragged on, Guiche started to get nervous, hoping that one of his Valkyries would finish Saito off, but there was no contest between them. The golems lacked the power or durability to do Saito in.

That's when an idea hatched in Guiche's mind. He hadn't ever needed to try it before, but he could try a new spell...

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

In the world of dreams...

Kai was in an inky black void and looked confused.

He tried to speak, but nothing came out.

That's weird...

Out of nowhere, a voice could be heard.

It seems as though the power of Gandalfr has been split...

Hello?

Hm... Well, it seems you'll have to do.

Do? What're you on about?

Out of nowhere, a figure started to attack him. All he could do was try to run away. Despite this being a dream, he felt as though the attacks of the mystery assailant hurt him.

Kame...

Kai turned to the assailant and saw a bright blue ball forming in their cupped hands.

Hame...

Seeing something like that, Kai stopped moving. It wasn't quite fear, more so... fascination.

HA!

Only one thought went through Kai's mind as he was consumed by the beam of bright blue light.

I want that...!

ㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤ

As the fight raged on, Saito failed to notice that there were fewer and fewer golems, and those that were only trying to distract him. After cutting the last one down Saito saw a large shadow looming over him. He looked up only to see a gigantic golem towering over him. It was easily thirty feet tall.

"How do you like my super Valkyrie? You should feel honored to see it!" Guiche only had false bravado. He wasn't sure this would work, since it was the first time he had tried this.

Seeing its size, Saito stood back a little. Since it was so big, it should be slow, but really strong. So if he got hit by it, it may be game over.

Just as Saito was about to attack, the golem rushed toward him. It was much faster than he thought. It wasn't just fast though. Saito was struck a few times before being launched back.

Those attacks were so much stronger than those other golems. Seeing the golem rush at him once more, Saito raised the sword to defend himself, but he was once more launched back, this time though, the sword was flung out of his hand.

Once he hit the ground, pain flooded his senses, and he couldn't move.

Right before the golem could finish him off...

"H-Hold it!" Everyone turned to see who yelled, and it was none other than Kai, back on his feet, albeit barely. "Saito... tag out right now." Kai's breath was ragged. It looked like he was barely on his feet.

"But... you're hurt..." Saito could barely speak as well.

"Says you."

Saito let out a strained laugh, gave a nod, and passed out.

Looking at the tired-out Kai, Guiche smirked. "Are you sure you want to continue? I am starting to get bored."

"Man... shut the hell up." Kai wiped his mouth and raised his fists.

"Kai!" He turned his head to see Louise.

"How can a commoner such as yourself be so stubborn? So much so that even after knowing that your better counterpart still failed, you'd try and continue? Oh well, if you are truly ready to throw your life away, come at me."

"Kai, please! Stop fighting! Why do you keep getting back up?! He's going to kill you! Don't you get it?!"

Kai plugged one of his ears with his finger. "God, you're really annoying. I don't care if he's some noble. I'm gonna beat that snobby brat!" Kai turned toward the giant golem and tensed up. Something coursed through his body, a sort of pure determination.

With that determination, the runes on his left hand sparked and flared to life, giving off that same glow as Saito's. Miraculously, most of his injuries had healed, but he didn't care.

He jumped forward toward the golem with blistering speed. It didn't have enough time to react to the surprise attack from Kai and was struck by his fist alone, but it was enough to knock it back a little.

"W-What?" Guiche looked a little scared. What the hell was going on?!

"What's wrong? Scared?" Kai smirked.

"Go my Valkyrie!" Guiche replaced his fear with anger.

The golem tried to punch where Kai was, but he jumped back, and started running up its arm. The whole time Kai had a wide smile on his face, this was exciting!

Kai jumped up, right above the golem's head, and hammered both of his fists down on the golem's head. While it was stunned, Kai ran down its back and kicked its leg with all his might. The force of Kai's kick knocked the golem to the ground.

While it was on the ground, Kai jumped back and prayed. I really hope this works and I'm not crazy.

Kai took a deep breath and cupped his hands in front of him. "Ka..."

He brought his cupped hands to his side. "Me..." Some of the audience started to think the pain from before drove him mad.

To people's disbelief, a small blue orb started to grow in Kai's cupped hands. "Ha..."

All eyes were transfixed on Kai's hands, and not a single student uttered a single sound. "Me...!"

The golem got up as Kai started to finish his chant, but it didn't have enough time to move out of the way.

"HAAA!" Kai pushed his hands forward and a blue wave of energy shot forward. The golem tried to defend itself, but it was futile. The wave of energy completely consumed it, destroying it in its entirety.

As the last bits of energy faded, everyone looked in awe. What had just happened?

Feeling his power fade fast, Kai rushed right in front of Guiche with his fist raised.

Guiche raised his arms to defend himself. "I yield! I yield!"

The crowd roared with cheers, and Guiche started mumbling to himself. "A noble lost to a commoner?"

Kai started laughing. "Haha...! Made you... flinch..." With a smile on his face, he started wobbling.

Louise ran over and started to support Kai. "Are you all right?"

"Yep... just... peachy-" Kai instantly fell on top of Louise, causing her to fall over.

"H-Hey...!" Looking at him closer, Louise noticed something. "He's asleep? Hey! You're heavy! Get off of me!"

"Principal Osmond... they have to be Gandalfr! There's no doubt in my mind!" Colbert looked excited, that fight was exhilarating for him, even if he was just watching.

"Hm..."

"Y-Yes sir!"

Osmond took his staff and gazed out the window. "I wonder what form Gandalfr took before... I can't help but wonder..."

Colbert murmured, "Gandalfr was said to be able to use any weapon to take down their enemies..."
