The Guardians and their partners headed back to SFIT, to face some of the consequences for their escape. Back in the work room, where Granville was oddly not upset. "You actually have the proof to show us what you know?" Hayner explained as Ken readied two timer balls, a net ball and a heal ball. "It's not that we don't. It's just we're talking about things so crazy that it wouldn't be believed."
Ken brought out the Star Shard as Hiro asked a rhetorical question. "What if our friends came from a different world altogether and had to fight super natural, magical forces to safe guard the cosmos?" Ken joined in that question. "And what if, one of those worlds we've visited can make portable portals as part of a business? What if one of our space ships have turned herself into a base by blending into an abandoned building?"
The Professor still looks like she has a cool head and raised a brow, addressing the Poliwag, Skiploom, Voltorb and a refreshed Dewott. "So this is why you'd ran off? You have what is clearly Pokemon right there with you."
That caught the teenagers and college kids by surprise, whether it be her knowing the name or her hearing of these creatures. Dewott laughed nervously. (Guess the worlds have their way of knowing.)
Hayner felt that was more than enough and has to be straight forward as to what happened. "It's a little worse than that, some kids got dragged into our mess. A sister was trying to look for her brother and stopped a creep that was going to use this magical weapon to mess with our worlds."
Ken nodded. "This creep with an eye patch and some scars, helped a wacko bring about the near end of everything, more times than I want to count. One of them escalated into a full scale war that passed through most of you last week. When that Sister caught the creep sneaking into my bosses home, he used the remains of that weapon to make these things known as an Ultra Wormhole, spiral into the worlds and open more of those things. Which have Pokemon on the other side and the more alien sort known as the Ultra Beasts. We came around here because that's how much of a problem it's going to be for this city and for the Pokemon that are straight up lost."
Granville was surprised by the word war and kept calm from what she was thinking about. "And if these creatures have super powers, it wouldn't be long before a criminal takes advantage over this?
" Ken breathed deeply to calm himself down. "Or worse, if you read the news about an outbreak that happened yesterday, we're having a problem with a very, very evil force that is wanting to hurt these pokemon as a way cause as much chaos and destruction as possible. What it does to these guys is something me and some of my friends have been through once enough."
He was having a flash back of his fight with a dark daemon and was snapped out of it when Hiro put a hand to his shoulder. "We've been a contact with the people Ken's worked with, so that was why they've been trying to come to us as soon as they could."
Ken felt himself back to reality and focused on the sillier circumstances. "We've been getting that chance swept away right when we think we have it. Not going to argue about some school tradition being the reason. But now's a better time than ever to explain the travel plan." He showed the Star Shard. "We made a portal door before and this kind of thing is the power source. Mess around with it and you'd find yourself in a world that runs completely different from this one. We're wanting to make a door way back to one of our home towns, so we can have access to what ever our other squad is wanting us to have and see. It's a pretty big project in itself and we've been wanting to get the word if we can do it."
The Professor found that astonishing and looked over to the boy genius. "Is this possible?" Hiro felt the confidence that it could work. "If one of the worlds can do it with closet doors, I don't see why we can't do it." He promised Ken and his squad. "We'll look into this once we settle this School Rivalry tonight. There shouldn't be anymore issues that would get in the way."
The Guardians smiled to that as Olette admitted. "We finally the approval and the most important piece to make this work, so it's a start."
Granville agreed and advised. "Just be careful about where you're staying in. Just because a building is abandoned, doesn't mean it isn't still someone's property."
Xion blinked and tilt her head up to give a loud "Oooooooh!" admitting to a complication that was hinted about. "That's a bad thing if someone not so nice finds out?"
Ken guessed. "People get pissed when you trespass, regardless if they're using it or not. Even if Bryn is going to make sure the spot is exactly as it was and we're using her. This is pretty confusing, so let's just stick to the plan and not order anything for delivery." He pressed his hands together. "Now, about where we got that Star Shard from. Our contacts have been talking about this crystal cave that brings you into this Terastal Labyrinth. Some otherworldly cave that can take the shape of just about anything, is being ran by some really mystical stuff and always have something we need if we go in deep enough."
Xion and the Twilight Town trio went to get the balls as Lokix warned them. (There's some really strange pokemon showing up in there.) Xion agreed with her partner. "We've also been finding weird pokemon that the Dex isn't able to register beyond what stories have told. Step back, because two of them are really big."
The students and professor did so, watching as the teenagers let out a duo of robots and a duo of primitive beasts. Iron Hands and Iron Thorns activated on being unleashed, as Slither Wing gave a flutter of his wings while landing. Scream Tail landed in a tip toe and looked around frantically. Baymax waved. "Hello." Iron Hands and Iron Thorns looked over to a fellow robot, with the fighting type waving back. (Hey!) The robotic Tyranitar checked Baymax out as Xion described each one. "The two robots are called Iron Hands and Iron Thorns. The Cyborg Pokemon and the Charged Armor Pokemon. According to the story, Iron Hands was a athlete that was mortally wounded and had to be turned into this. While Iron Thorns is a Tyranitar that exists a billion years into the future." She gave the Dex a quick read. "Iron Hands is a fighting and electric type, while Thorns is a Rock and electric type."
One of those types was believable to say the least, Fred was in complete aw at the Slither Wing as Honey Lemon was drawn in by the childish behavior of the Scream Tail. Ken had a go at explaining the other two. "Slither Wing is the Volcarona look a like. The Palaeopteran Pokemon: Bug and Fighting. It's suppose to be an ancestor to Volcarona but no one's found any fossils of him. Scream Tail, which resembles Jigglypuff is the Wild Fang Pokemon: A Psychic and Fairy Type. An ancient relative of Jigglypuff from a billion years ago and can any prehistoric expert tell me what is wrong with that sentence?"
Baymax showed a graph on the eras. "The first multicellular life form hasn't been recorded until Six hundred Million Years ago in the Earth's History. Even in regards to the history of unknown worlds, this should not even be possible." The Scream Tail floated to a window close to the roof and watched a big city over the forest. (OOOOOOH! What is this?) Pence groaned at the out of line pokemon. "Hey, get down there. We are going to show you this place, but if someone sees you, they'll freak!" The Scream Tail pressed her face against the glass. (I don't mind.)
Iron Thorns sparked a nerve and roared. (Get down from there! Or you'll find yourself extinct in a week!) The Scream Tail puffed her cheeks in a pout and floated down as Ken envisioned the most grueling task. "It's going to take a while before these guys start listening to us. That's why it is going to take us a while to catch these three pokemon."
Fred felt that. "Checks out, if you don't got the experience, a stronger pokemon would lounge around and not follow you." Gogo looked over to the dork with another example. "Or they'll just do what ever they want. You're not going to be serious about making these guys fight with you until you get your act straighten out?" Hayner waved a hand and brought out the candies. "We're still working on it, some of our guys are close to evolving."
The band let out their misfits as Ken took his charge as a squad leader and explained. "It's not that we're screwing things up, it's more that we're just not ready to be giving orders to the big guys. We still promised to show these guys the world, so we got to think of something." Xion recalled a particular power that can call upon someone of great strength, even if it's for a short while. "You remember Khari, right?" It could be an idea to consider. "Until we get stronger as trainers, these guys ought to be used as sparingly as those summons."
He used the Dex to analyze the candies, some of various sizes of triangles while the more select of the bunch are squares. "These experience candies should be enough to give everyone a bit of a boost. I'd say two each on the square ones, but divide the smaller ones for who needs the boost the most."
Hayner had Maschiff, Amphib and Riolu prioritized first and foremost while Pawmot was given the two minimum. Given that the marmot is already a fully evolved pokemon, the power balance is still in his favor.
Twirly, Yeaster and Shroodle had their share of an even, while Heater, Silicobra and the Greavard have theirs. Xion gave more of a focus to Volty and Tinker, due to them being the only ones who could still evolve. Ken gave more focus to Sharp Shell and Daggers, while giving the rest to Racer. The Cyclizar was in a rush and showed off the use of U-Turn, a convenient move for getting out of danger.
The Poliwag and Tinkatink began to glow, the Tadpole grew wider, grew taller legs and grew arms as his tial shrank. The metal smith, in comparison, grew taller with her hair growing into a pony tail.
Pew! "Whirl?" "Tuff?"
Hayner and Xion were surprised by the evolution, the hot headed boy marveled at a tadpole with gloved arms, eyes bulbous and showing nostrils where his lips were. The tom boy looked to a weaponsmith that was taking off a piece of metal on her chest and was waving a rather small rattle with growing impatience. Her mouth had two front teeth that pressed together. The trainers gave praise where it was due. "Nice, you're a Poliwhirl!" "So it looks like your rattle and armor hasn't changed, Tinkatuff."
Tinker saw the obvious and was wanting to head out the door as Amphib went to check the bag of treasures. Granville took interest. "This metamorphosis could come in handy." Pence let the Professor know. "That's part of the plan, sometimes if a Pokemon gets stronger enough, they'll evolve. Others need something more specific, like a stone or just needing to like you enough." Ken added to that knowledge. "And they'll really show that power once they're grown enough. Others that can't evolve, just need to learn better moves."
The Poliwhirl brought out what looked to be a fossilized rock that got Volty excited and placed it towards him while fetching the other. Ken planned more ahead. "Speaking of stones, some of these are pretty specific and if they're what we're hoping they are, it might be time to talk with those Hitmons again. We might be at their level by now." Amphib found something and brought out a blue stone with bubbles, it glowed upon further exposure and caused him to glow. He grew even bigger, to where he was over the size of his partner and swelled in muscles.
PEW!
Upon evolving, he looked a little angrier, despite enjoying the moment. "Poliwrath!" Hayner took Ken's phone and had a quick read on the log. "Poliwrath: The Tadpole Pokemon. Water/Fighting. It can use its well-developed arms and legs to run on the surface of the water for a split second. Although it's skilled in a style of dynamic swimming that uses all its muscles, for some reason it lives on dry land."
Amphib flexed like he was some kind of super hero as Pence recalled why this might have been a mistake. "Doesn't this pokemon have a split evolution? I heard that pokemon that evolve like this won't be able to learn a lot of moves by leveling." Hayner didn't care too much. "But a lot of the good moves can be learned right now if we give a few lessons! This is perfect!" He wondered what he's missing out on otherwise. "What's the other evolution we're skipping on?"
Ken pressed a few buttons and found a green, frog with a curled piece of blue hair over it's head, pink cheeks, yellow hands and toes, a yellow chin and a yellow belly with a green curl. He checked the stat comparison. "Politoed, mostly a special attacker with good supportive moves, can sing Perish Song." He raised a brow. "This isn't what you've been looking for anyways?" Hayner snickered. "What gave it away?"
Ken guessed. "Gee, maybe all the fighting types you're sticking around with? But in seriousness, congratulations."
Hayner blushed as Volty was ready to tap his forehead upon the leaf stone and caused a reaction with it, glowing, growing bigger and flipping upside down. Xion clapped in excitement over a third pokemon evolving. PEW! In the Voltorb's place was an angry looking apricorn ball with carved eyes going into empty eye sockets. Around the size of a growing child. The sphere gave a smile and rolled left and right as Xion looked something up. "Electrode: the Sphere Pokemon: Hisuian. Electric/Grass. The tissue on the surface of its body is curiously similar in composition to an Apricorn. When irritated, this Pokémon lets loose an electric current equal to 20 lightning bolts." Volty leaned right and kept a smirk. (That's not even half of what I can do!)
Olette and Daggers considered it a blessing that they don't have to find out soon, least of all mess around with the other Voltorb. Fred cringed at what he knows of the other variant. "You might want to call him back, Electrodes like to explode, a lot."
Volty gave an annoyed stare, that wasn't precisely what he was talking about. Xion looked up the other and quickly grew some doubts as she saw a particular move. "He's a variant from an entirely different region, I think he was wanting to show off a grass move that might be a little... boomy."
Volty let Xion know that was the intent as Ken wanted to finish the report, showing off the logs of Iron Moth and Sandy Shocks. "Now, before we get to the last bit. We were finding out that SFAI has a security system that's kind of light. It's a few guards in a close together campus. No other way in or out of the place with the statue besides a door. That was when we found the Iron Moth flying by." Baymax showed the image of the organic counterpart. "It appears this one resembles more of Volcarona."
The group let the robot know that was the point and Ken read the type. "Also, he trades out the bug type for a poison type. Making him part fire and poison." Honey Lemon guessed by the type. "Because it's wings are more like solar panels. Absorbing the radiation from the sun into energy." Gogo explained why that involves the poison type. "It's why you put on sun screen when you go out on a beach. Too much of those rays aren't good for you."
The Twilight Town Trio knew that by experience as Ken had his own recollection from beach trips. "Sun burns are just the first part. Anyways, been on the look out for this one because these pokemon can terastallize if pushed into a corner and act weird. We've also heard details about the Magneton lookalike, Sandy Shocks. Some out of place object." He checked the type. "And instead of being electric and steel, it trades the metal for the ground type. These four." He looked over to the robots and beasts. "are getting worried about them. So that can only mean one thing."
Baymax deducted the possibility. "He could have found his way out of that Labyrinth and is somewhere in the city? I will need an estimate on the magnetic properties of either it or Magneton." Hiro cringed. "I don't think our sample is going to be that easy to find." Ken agreed with that. "No it won't. "The last Magneton me and Xion seen was over at Traverse so we can't compare right now."
Hiro thought of the next best thing. "But if that crystal was close by SFAI-" Honey Lemon realized with an eek. "Then the Sandy Shocks could still be hiding around there. Someone could mistake him for an art project," She covered her mouth as Ken and Xion looked to each other with a plan.
The one armed boy pointed over to Granville. "Here's how it's going to go. We're in for a search mission tonight and it just so happens that it's going to take some of us over to the heist tonight. For some of us, the info on the security is the most help we're going to give. BUT, for the others, we'll also be looking for the Sandy Shocks if we can spot him while stealing the statue. In comparison, the Iron Moth could be anywhere in the city, so that's where half of us are going to be instead. From what we I heard, someone at SFAI's going to be coming here to paint up the mess hall."
The Professor understood the gravity of the situation. "The potential that Iron Moth holds, can be a greater danger than a college prank. You won't be required to keep a couple of students away from that. Fred, Wasabi and I are to be on watch."
Xion and Olette looked over to Hiro, Baymax and the ladies, with an enticing offer. The black haired tomboy raised her hand to volunteer. "We can come with the stealing team and help out. One of the bad guys we know about is somewhere in city and he could be springing another trap again while looking for the Sandy Shocks." The other tom boy recalled what Pete said as a threat. "Apparently he was waiting for us to reach the depths before he tried to get rid of us. He might have seen these pokemon too."
Pence advised the girls. "Just be careful if he shows up, one fight over there and people will notice." Ken corrected him with a deathly quiet tone. "One fight over there and I'll know." Hayner cringed at the destructive potential as the captain continued with normalcy. "But I can pick up that he isn't stupid enough to come after us again, unless he has the means to actually get away with it. So, Hiro, Baymax, ladies... how are you going to pull off this heist?" Hiro had to remake a plan and turn on the holographic map. "Okay, if we're in for some night guards, we can always sneak by using the cover of-"
Some time later, during the Noon Hour.
The Guardians of Light finished a grocery trip, having supplies for various soups and stews while Tinker was hurrying ahead with Xion. "Hey, we're almost there, we got to stay in a group."
Olette laughed to that and recited the plan for the night. "It's pretty easy on paper. We get in while avoiding the guards, take the thing and get out. With some eyes and ears, that's the part that won't go wrong."
Hayner recalled the one complication. "Until you got to haul that thing out." Ken nodded in agreement. "If the Guards notice that, then things are going about right by our standards." He laughed to that and confessed. "We don't have a lot of stuff that have any business to be in our way during the prep time, once you catch the Hitmons, it's going to be a boring afternoon."
Pence had an idea for the night patrol. "By then, we'll have those four ready for a night in the town?" Ken nodded. "At the least, the places where we can get a view." They made it to the base and found Hariyama watching his students in a sparing match. Ken, Xion and their partners took the grocery bags and headed up the stairs as Hayner announced. "We're back guys! And we're ready for that match!"
The Sensei turned dramatically. "Oh!" The Hitmons stopped what they're doing and saw three determined kids with a ball ready. The Hariyama felt their air. (You've been somewhere that awakened your potential.)
He asked his students. (Do you feel that as well?) Lee grunted and had one look to the three. (We can see it, they know it is time.) He went to the left corner as Chan went to the right. (When you're ready to face those odds, you'll know.) The Hitmontop back flipped in style and crouched to the upper corner of the dojo. (So say when!)
The Sensei laughed to his eager student. (Top, a moment like this needs to be remembered. With Emboar making a patrol with Sableye and Vikavolt, we are lacking a few ingredients.) Ken returned while noise was going on from above. "Alright the stuff's in the pantry. Xion's watching over Tinker as she turns that rattle into a hammer and we got half an hour before we look into that."
He looked to Dewott and had him go in between the Hitmons, the water type raised a paw and announced. (So we'll do it like this.) Ken joined in being the referee. "Hayner, Pence, Olette, pick a Hitmon that you think will work well with you and give it everything you got. We'll make sure nothing goes wrong beyond what you guys are bringing."
He brought out a whistle and blew into it. Hayner showed off the net ball as Olette brought out a nest ball and Pence, the humble pokeball. Before Lee was a Poliwrath, before Chan was the Shroodle and before Top was the Silicobra. The Shroodle gave a hiss as the Silicobra gave something of a battle cry. Ken voiced out the rules. "Alright, this between the Trainers who have their partners and the Hitmons!"
He pointed to the humans. "You and your partners will try to get them in a ball." Dewott pointed to the Hitmons. (While you try to knock their partners out before they get the chance to!)
Ken advised. "Do what you got to do to win, just don't break anything. If everyone is ready?" He waited a few seconds before blowing into the whistle. "Begin!" Chan readied a punch as Olette ordered. "Parting shot and Twirly has this!"
The Shroodle gave a spiteful retreat and the girl switched out to her Skiploom, that took an iron fist drain punch like it wasn't much of a problem. Lee rushed at Poliwrath to fake him out and deliver a low kick as Hayner felt an idea. "Amphib, try hypnosis!" The Poliwrath stepped back to back with the Skiploom as Olette request. "While you sleep powder Chan." The Poliwrath wiggled his belly and lured Lee in a hypnosis as Twirly flew above a Hitmonchan that was glowing his fists in ice. Scatter!
The two fighting types were sent asleep as Top flipped upside down and rushed at the Silicobra with a technician's rapid spin, sending the snake rolling and spitting out a sand storm as Pence planned. "Minimize and follow with bull doze!"
The Silicobra deflated and shrank himself as a way to dodge a following up of triple kick. The snake let loose a shock wave that slowed Top down. Olette smirked in confidence. "Twirly, acrobatics on Chan!"
Hayner followed with that. "Amphib, give Lee a body slam and follow with bubble beam!" The Poliwrath leaped after Lee, knocked him to the ground and fired bubbles to get himself back on his feet. The Skiploom rushed at Chan and knocked him to the wall with nimble movement and back flipped. With the scratch of sand storm, the hitmons were looking roughed up. Hayner and Olette brought out a humble great ball and tossed it at the fighter of their choice.
Tap! Bop! Bop! Bop! Shake...shake...shake... click!
With them caught, Pence was left with a rough one against Top, who leaped to the air threw a mach punch that was dodged and landed to feel another shock wave. Top focused and threw a punch that connected. The snake flipped backwards and crouched to dodge a triple kick finisher as Pence thought to go minimal. "Go for a poison tail, if it poisons him, great, if not we'll still be fine." The snake swiped his tail, dodged a mach punch and lashed out again, inflicting some poison and giving Pence the timing to ready a timer ball. Right as the sand storm wore off.
Fling! Tap! Bop! Bop! Bop! Shake...shake...shake... click!
With the final Hitmon in a ball, Ken blew a whistle and crossed his arms in an x. "and that's the match! The Hitmons have been caught!" The Dewott cheered for his fellow pokemon as Ken squeed. "That was so cool, you guys took control of that!" Sensei grunted in agreement. (Seems we still have much more to learn.) Audino came around as the trio picked up their captures and let out the Hitmons, the hearing pokemon got to work in mending the wounds.
Lee and Chan woke up, with the kicker feeling a bit embarrassed as the puncher gave Twirly and Olette a chest pressing salute. (You smarts us like a psychic.) Top was feeling his sting leave and gasped to something. (Were we getting into a fight with those guys?)
He had a childish head shake to a concept that would have been beyond foolish. Silicobra shook his head, doubting that possibility. (Not really, just smart trainers.) Dewott agreed with that. (Some of the smartest from where they came from.)
Pence knew what was said and took pride in himself. "We got stuff to learn together, so if you stick by us, we can reach the peak together." He had an idea for when there was more free time. "I think we can toughen each other up if we take some more lessons." Hayner snickered. "Way ahead of you, Pence."
The hot blooded boy went to Sensei and gave a bow of respect and put a hand to his fist. "I've been wanting to ask, you and your students know a lot about martial arts and Amphib's a fighting type now." The Hariyama grunted and looked over to the frog. (Along with Pawmot.) He raised a brow in doubt. (I'm not sure if what I can teach is feasible for a human. But good students learn from one another as much as they would from their tutor. What say of Riolu?)
Hayner let out a trainee that was looking forward to this moment and stretched. "I'm getting what you're saying. She doesn't evolve unless we put in the work together so, we can both get started." The Riolu hoped left and right to get herself started as Sensei looked over to the Kicker. (Lee, you know what this means?)
The Hitmon nodded, bent a knee and kept into a one leg stand. (If we're to form a sync like that, then we need to start from the ground up. Can either of you two do this for long?) The two gave it a try, Hayner felt himself on balance for a minute and a half, only for both to start losing balance and begin flailing their arms. Lee raised a hand. (That's enough, that's enough.) The duo took a stand as the kicker confessed. (A little more than I've lasted when I've started.)
He looked over to Top, who gave a crouching stance and to Chan, who raised his gloves upward for a face guard. (Before you learn that first kick, you must have a stance, to be ready for that first move. Other wise your guard will be down before your match even begins.)
Hayner raised his fists and kicked the ground, going for an aggressive stance that was ready for the move. Hitmonlee gave a spin kick in response, the boy ducked before rushing for a punch. Lee spun and caught the fist with his hand. (A little predictable. But you saw my kick coming.)
The Sensei felt what would be appropriate for the first lesson. (It might be wise for Hayner and Riolu to practice that stance together. Then they can hone their potential.) That was agreed and Hayner felt cool in the head. "It's going to take a while before I can throw a punch or kick that's going to really matter, we need to learn that pose before anything."
Ken agreed with that. "Without that guard, you won't have control of that blow or the fights to come. Even if you don't know your enemy or what they're going to do, you can think fast with some common sense, learn them and make the opening. Then you keep at it until they have to run. That's when you know that you got the advantage and you repeat it until they can't run anymore." The captain took a deep breath. "Since this is a safe zone and we got some time before our shift tonight. You should focus on what you're comfortable with." He recalled something and cursed himself. "Drat! We forgot one thing when we were at the School."
Pence realized what it is. "Ah man, we never asked Honey Lemon about how those chemicals work!" Olette admitted. "I don't think it was a good time for that anyways. So maybe later when this school stuff is over with?"
Ken agreed to that and breathed out smoke while showing off a band for a finishing technique. "Because what I've learned is incredibly dangerous stuff just by what it is. Some places use simple magical will to conjure any fire ball, but the primordial stuff can use anything around you as burning material. Even the stuff the body produces, can combust into some potent stuff." He breathed out a toxic mist to demonstrated. "Carbon dioxide is the stuff the flame gives off as well as what we give off."
Bryn got to work in sucking the mists into a vent as her master continued. "Something seems to be setting our chemical expert off, so you got time to think deeper into this before you start off. Are you sure you want to go this path?"
Pence was certain of it. "You can do all sorts of things if you know what the elements can actually turn into. It isn't just fire, even though it can cause the most changes into a chemical." Ken admired the potential genius. "Excellent."
Olette took her chance as the final aspirant and asked. "Now that leaves only one of us who needs to get started?" Ken turned to the stairs. "And it won't be long. Have you picked which feather is going to be a sword?" Olette showed the last feather in her bag, the one with the cleanest cut. "Shall we?" Ken nodded and announced. "Nice work everyone, we'll meet at the living room when we're done with these lessons." The Captain and Dewott went ahead as Olette followed him up the stairs and up the ladder into an attic with a forge. Tinkatuff already inserted a ball and socket for her rattle and has metal scraps at her hips while taking a pole and get it ready for the socket on the other side. Xion, Lokix and Volty were on watch to see the process.
Olette took the rejected feathers and added them to the scrap bin, she turned to show the chosen wing and posed in a hanging stance. Ken brought an oil pipe and advised. "Put that wing into this oil rig and it ought to loosen up the debris. We've already talked about how important this is going to be."
Olette put the wing in the cleaning pipe as Ken signaled to Xion to assist him. The boy conjured Night Sky and raised it high with both hands as Xion conjured the Vector of the Heavens. With a glow of flame, the boy split his blade into two scimitars. One of metal, the other of flame shaped like a sword. "As we've talked about, that wing is going to be more than just a weapon. It's going to be a part of you. The history you two share together can start from where you found the material and end with you bringing down a monster of nightmares." He flipped the metal sword and presented the hilt to be in reach. "Take this and tell me what you feel?"
Olette is aware of the story and took it, feeling a simple tale engraved into her heart. "This was a gift that a friend of yours gave before you had to say goodbye to each other?" Ken nodded with nostalgia. "Yep. Jambert knew it wasn't going to be much compared to a Keyblade, but he gave one to me and Miss anyways. When the Dark Seeker brought me to a spot where neither Cadia's Light or the Firekeeper's Wish could answer me and I fought back with my flames, I got the crud beaten out of me. It wasn't until I found this old thing that I found a way to fight back and get away from him." He rubbed his eyes to get the tears out. "So it and a simple bow was what I was stuck with until I could get my blades back. But that wasn't the end of that story. Sis and I delved deeper into a dream of a world's last moments and found the ember of the Chaotic Flames. Both swords were forged from the influence of Izalith and through that, it became a form change that I'll always remember."
Olette lost a bit of her breath as she understood the feelings shared with the sword. "That gift lived on as something far greater than imagined. It and the fire sword are one and the same." Ken advised heartily. "Pour every bit of your heart upon that wing and it can surpass this one day." He stepped back and asked. "Xion, demonstrate what that means."
The brown haired girl knew there was a reason Xion brought that blade and turned with her stance as Xion charged with a glowing blade. The two gave a clash and Olette kept a stand before pushing Xion away. The black haired girl stepped back and made a bull rush, Olette side stepped and gave a spin slash, feeling as if there was a partner right beside her to guide that blow. She sent the keyblade flying away and caused the girl to call it back, Olette followed and had the scimitar an inch away from touching skin before stopping.
Ken teeheed. "Looks like you've been looking this stuff up for a long while?" Olette nodded and looked to the borrowed sword. "Once I felt that rush, everything clicked like an instinct." She gave it back to the wielder. "That's a start if someone's life is going to be on the line."
Xion agreed and dismissed her blade. "Whether that be someone else or if you got to defend yourself." Ken merged his blades back into Night Sky. "Now that you show the spirit, we're going to need the material to turn that wing into a sword. Get it in a hilt, have a sheath to put it in and refine it so it can stay sharp. That's going to be the boring part."
Olette imagined that gathering the stuff was going to be more stressful than the actual forging. "But when you put the work into the craft, you put a little bit of your heart into it. It's going to be the best it can be."
Ken dismissed Night Sky and concluded the lesson. "I'll ask Bryn to show us how to get them. Once we have the sword made, we can move on to the actual fighting. Until you and the others learn that step, it's better to keep by your pokemon and keep by one of us. That thug was getting smarter, but he's nothing that worries me." Olette imagined why. "All those heartless were pretty scary, but Pete hasn't tried making it personal."
Ken pointed to her. "Exactly. "Exactly, it's all typical between the forces of Light and Darkness. If he's frequent on that though, I'm going to go after him. Now," He looked at the Tinkatuff putting together the handle for the hammer and bending three large sheets of metal. "if we scout out the school zones, I got a plan so we can take our search above. According to that Dex, some regions have this big Corviknight carry over taxi carts. Others use a flock of birds to do the work. We got Sharpy, but we'll need more and something for the cart."
Xion blushed. "You're thinking about taking one of those wrecked cars and using the insides to make that?" Ken smiled wide in glee. "That or we get five huge fliers by the end of tomorrow. We haven't found a lot of those besides Sharpy." The Dewott found that exciting as the hatch opened, with the Skarmory pointing his head in. (You're talking about me?)
Olette giggled to the bird she caught. "We'll need your help to search high in the city. Do you know any other bird pokemon, or flying types that can... lift a cart that would fit five kids?"
Skarmory was offended for the first five seconds, then thought about it. (That might carry you. But I'm not doing that alone.) He remembered something and flew down to flap his wings. (I've seen these four hanging out at this building in that down town area. You'll have to take the long way if you cant fly.) Xion checked her phone to see the birds used for taxi services. Corviknight first, then Noctowl and finally, a parrot with a strange puffy crest. Having four colors of breed.
She showed it to the Skarmory. "Which one are you talking about?" The metal bird cawed to the last image. (Those guys!) Xion read out loud. "Sharpy knows some birds. Squawkabilly: The Parrot Pokemon: Normal and Flying. These four can be seen in big flocks, can get pretty aggressive and they can get into fights with other flocks."
Ken laughed. "Hah! Those are one of the taxi birds? So if there's enough of them, they'll have to work with Sharpy." The Skarmory didn't care much for the potential squabbling. (They're no threat to me. It'll be hard to hear them from down bellow, but when you get close to them, you'll know.) Ken hurried to a screen and called to the ship. "Bryn, we got a long list."
