The next morning, Ken, Xion, Tinker and the Sandy Shocks were active and performing construction on a cart that was made with gummi blocks and the cockpit of a car. Ken got through cleaning out the cock pit itself as Xion assembled the shape of a roller coaster car. It took a few hours to craft the basics and it needed some décor and safety procedures. With that, the band were at a short break and Ken was at work uncovering the strange robot, it apparently runs on a special battery pack that had long corroded. "Let's see, look like we need to make some specific batteries to replace the older ones. Strong ones-" He fondled with the parts and found a set of solar panels. "That work with this."
Xion felt a piece to connect the puzzle. "Which means any old battery we can get from a store won't even work for a second." Ken shook his head. "Nope, there's stuff in a battery that lets it make the energy. I think Honey Lemon ought to know the details on how we can make this."
The two blushed and thought to let their returning squad mates know about the project. It would be concerning if they've been caught spending time together. They descended down, leaving the Night Count to rest away and found the Twilight Town Trio up and at it in the kitchen. Sandy Shocks climbed down like a strange lizard while Tinker dropped down in segments. Sharp Shell and Volty gave a hello while Hayner was sizzling something and was well aware. "Was wondering where you two took off to. Building something up there?"
Ken didn't pick up where the teasing ended and reported. "We did some of the nasty work with the cart, got the shell made and now we need to handle the smaller parts so we don't end up dropping from the sky. We also did some inspection on that robot."
Xion asked the three. "Did you all have a good time last night? We didn't even hear you all return." Sableye snickered by a resting Emboar as Olette was mixing and showing Vikavolt what's being done. The girl reported back. "It was a blast and we caught these two while we're at it."
Ken and Xion were quite impressed at the latest members that won't get swiped away so easily. The black haired tom boy went to Bryn to check on some photos and found a picture in particular to be much while the one armed boy blushed. "Here's to another big day."
At Traverses main office.
Wanda read some paper work that was provided and looked to the Sun kids and the Secret Squad. "There's a sound tactic in this and if this facility turns out to be a den of mad experiments, then someone needs to stop it." She gave a stamp of approval as Daphne and Poppy looked to each other and thought, the Champion of Alola asked. "Say, if one of us comes along, it can help." Poppy volunteered. "I could use a trip into a city right around now."
The cousins laughed as Wanda recommended to the Secret Squad. "Make due with the time you have, because you are to be crossing over soon." Resira second that and recommended. "Please shut down what ever heretical nonsense they're seeking to unleash upon that world. The biological implications would be the stuff of nightmares to those who would imagine."
Poppy didn't feel the need to. "What are they going to do? Smash fossils together and make a stronger pokemon?" Daphne and Leon cringed, the coordinator whispered. "Not funny, we had to see the pictures before we found out they happen anyways."
Resira sighed in disappointment as Roxas escorted the children out. If to ask privately. "Anyways?" Daphne showed the luxury ball containing Silvally. "Chimery's not the only pokemon made like that. Over at the Galar Region, someone made four fossilized pokemon that became an underground legend until someone brought it to light." Poppy remembered the report and got to opening her Dex. "A misguided attempt, because those fossils couldn't be restored on their own."
She showed an entry of four mishmashed specimens that left Namine and Dupmic gaping. A hybrid with the upper body of small, electrical raptor bird and the lower half of a large green dinosaur with red stripes at the legs and a set of red spikes around his red back. The mark that would expose flesh were rings of orange and yellow. The other was of that same raptor body attached to the lower half an aquatic reptile found in icy waters. With the upper portion resembling snow that covered most of the raptor half. As expected, the upper half has his nose dripping from the constant cold.
More shocking were the later two, that land built body has its tail raised up like a neck and at the end of the tail is the head of a blue fish with a mighty jaw. The other was the fish head attached to the frigid body, only the head is upside down. "Dracozolt, Arctozolt, Dracovish and Arctovish."
Namine nearly screamed out. "By all things science, you got to make sure those fossils are part of the same species before you try this. This is mixing dinosaurs and creatures that belong in different places of the world." Dupmic recalled Xion's obsession with dinosaurs and agreed. "Those that belong to the land, the ones that become birds, the marine reptiles and the ancient fishes, like the Dunkleosteus."
Daphne spoke the conclusion to the fossil tale. "They have it under control now, some research is being made into where these fossils actually belong to and only an experienced enough trainer is even allowed to have one of these guys." She had pleasing memories of meeting one of these specimens. "Galar's current champion has a real star of an Arctozolt though."
Denryk made for the door. "Glad to hear people actually treat them like living things, instead of a bunch of freak shows. Think we should start gathering supplies and making the most of things. Because this could be a whole lot worse than we're fearing."
The band headed out and Leon hurried to find Sora, Riku and Kairi, who were playing around with the Dreepys at a lake and giving the Seafarers time to exercise out of their balls. The more timid Dreepy noticed and gave a calling, bringing Sora to turn around. The teenager waved. "Morning, what's the word?"
Leon explained fast. "Those guys got the approval to make a heist, because if someone's trying to play god with these pokemon... they need to be stopped as soon as possible." He focused on the more important matter. "Sora, Riku, now that your pokemon are reaching a point, there isn't a lot for me to teach you anymore. Dreepy should evolve at some point if our Dragapault keeps using Dragon Darts. We just need some handier moves for traveling."
Sora gave a dorky smile. "We just need to find the last Dreepy and they'll be together... at least." Kairi thought about the word home. "If the worlds lead us on route to Regigigas, it will let us know. Hey Leon, you never really say anything about friends you've made back on Alola. Anything we need to know about them?"
Leon thought back and whistled at what was heavy history. "Well, Alola has always felt like a big family. Between the captains, the Kahunas, those who work with the Aether Foundation." He ahad. "There is our neighbors, Conia and Basil. As well as our local rival and Skull Prince, Pachi. Me and my Sister are kind of well known to those hoodlums." He gave a devious smirk. "As a coordinator, I have a few rivals. A good rival helps you keep up." He sighed. "But that doesn't help too much with our current mystery. That Labyrinth's history is tied to the Pokemon and of the mysteries that go on in Paldea. But why?"
Kairi thought about who might know more and headed to a tree away, in a clearing where Mickey, Goofy, Donald and a Kirlia were talking with a Brute Bonnet. They might be having a similar idea. The King suggest. "There might be someone who can help us piece this together. We'll need to find Aqua and Ven."
Over at the Hammer Heart Arena.
Aqua, Goomy and the Jugulis had a sparing match against a combination of a Lilligant and a drought emitting Torkoal. Aqua's quite aware that fire types are much more potent in the sun and performed a small dance with water magic, she tossed the globs to the sky and made clouds appear, bringing about rain. Aqua winked like a prankster as the Lilligant was a lot slower. Iron Jugulis flapped a mighty hurricane to blow away the Lilligant as the Torkoal erupted and unleashed a wide blast that scorched. The rain helped dampen it and the thought that the flower had a trick to remedy the speed was a horror no one wants to behold. Goomy blasted a water pulse to send Torkoal sliding away and the Keyblade Master asked. "Lock on the hydro pump!"
The Iron Jugulis focused her three heads and fired three water spouts that condensed into a jet of water, sending the Torkoal flying to the volcanic jungle in a bellow. The simulation was over and Aqua lowered herself to pet the Goomy. "Yeah, it won't be long until you evolve too."
The slug purred as the Jugulis wondered. (How long is she in this stage?) Aqua understood what was said. "For a while, she's the type of pokemon that evolves pretty late, but at least her moves have gotten better." The Iron Jugulis was content as her partner picked Goomy up. (When the time comes, the moves won't be the only thing that improves.) The three headed out from their practice and found Ven and Terra preparing.
The boy of the three let out a Kadabra that was amazed by the wide landscape. "Let's see if Kadabra's wanting to evolve and give that machine of ours a try. Today's a good time to be preparing." Terra was more in hope that the day is much shorter. "Let's make every minute count, those crooks and low lives won't be taking a break while we're goofing off." That much the Kadabra agreed with while Aqua was getting the door linking one world to another. "We'll be more than ready for them by the time the days over."
The band headed over to Traverse and saw something going on by the Ranch. There was a meeting between Litzia, Lauriam and Elrena. Fae, Roselia and a Joltik were backing away from a heating argument as the Star Sage explained. "Now's the best time to keep advancing, because who knows if they'll just take it out on another world."
Lauriam was looking like his blood grown cold as Elrena was about to say no in one of the bossiest ways imagined. Litzia noticed the Wayfinders and was pleased about an upper hand. "There you are. Do you mind if we have a little talk?" Ven doesn't. "Something on your mind?" Litzia nodded and lead the three over to the hall, where Resira was instructing some Watchdogs. "That Peach clearly likes to do things from the shadows, our special forces should be informed on that."
The group saluted the normally xenophobic officer that noticed the four paying a visit. "Ah, Litzia. You have what you need to make this announcement?"
The Star Sage nodded and explained. "Thanks to the Power of Banishment, these set of worlds can finally have some piece from the worst the darkness has to offer. But it's only really good for the worlds who decreed it." She closed her eyes and breathed silently. "There was no justified reason for that man to have attacked the Bastion like he did, if your student has irked him often enough, he will attack someone who wouldn't defend herself nearly as well."
Aqua wasn't surprised. "Like that student's own mother? Sounds about right. He's stuck in a debt with his... friends and they'll make him pay a debt that won't ever end. Until we can bring these pokemon over here, they'll remain in great danger." Litzia proposed. "Then I suppose, you could use some extra help? I'm not shabby with the Blade and I think I have enough of a team that we can cover where we slack."
Ven was imagining the Sages brother and her bestie glaring daggers. "Did you tell these two the plan?" Litzia blew to the air and played with her pig tails. "Yeah, they weren't looking too willing to see me off. But it's something I've decided on with my heart, they know not to interfere with that."
Ven blushed and proposed back. "Well... having the extra help got us this far." The Star Sage nodded. "I'll ask them again, once they have time to calm down." Suddenly, Aqua had a text from Kairi. "Master, we should tell Yen Sid what has happened. Bring the Jugulis with you." It's an idea of a detour.
At a Mysterious Tower that hasn't been visited in a while.
Yen Sid finished listening to the amusing tales the Destiny Trio shared, especially about the Terestal Labyrinth. "A realm in between worlds, bound together by a mystical crystal and made to be by the power of Terapagos?"
Kairi thought out loud and looked to the nervous Iron Bundle that was hiding behind Biven. "And this woman who seems to be running it along with Arceus." She wondered. "Are there any stories about this sage of a Keybearer?"
The wizard thought more into that theory. "None that I am aware, yet surely this is proof on one thing." He stood up and asked. "When our supposed forefathers made the choice to misuse the blade and rip the world apart, there had to be those who saw through their treachery and sought to prevent disaster?"
That makes sense to think about and Mickey join in the theory. "A rebellion? Because of that, the Way of the Keyblade survived and became something we all have known today?" Yen Sid nodded. "Flawed as it might have been, it is reaching a point in evolution once more."
Leon tilted left and right in thought. "You've all adapted, overcame the drastic changes and have a chance in thriving once more!" Daphne snickered. "Better late than never." Poppy asked in suspicion. "If this lady dates back to those times, then what is the Labyrinth even for?"
Sora recalled the odd boy who's only been seen once as the door opened. Letting in the Wayfinders, Litzia and the Iron Jugulis. Yen Sid saw the new face. "Strelitzia, I've heard much of you." Litzia felt quite honored. "I wouldn't have reached out if I wasn't concerned about the bigger picture." Mickey explained to his mentor. "This is the one we've talked about."
Yen Sid continued and let Litzia be informed. "As you should be aware, Braig was an accomplice to a Dark Seeker that wrought near annihilation upon the worlds. From what we know, his wicked ambitions dated back farther than when Xehanort made himself known." Litzia added. "And from what I've gathered, he wasn't even from these worlds anyways. Have you encounter this platinum colored Giratina before?"
Ven felt his heart leap. "That one?! That's the Renegade Pokemon that helped us out in Gravity Falls." Aqua imagined the sheer terror. "I knew he wasn't letting his prey run off, that one act has destroyed any hope of contact with these worlds." Litzia gave credit to a certain Padawan she's acquainted with. "Wouldn't have stopped Braig from bringing more tragedies had our Force Sensitive, Denryk, not arrive to show power much more authentic."
Kairi shivered. "There's a moral to that story. Don't mess with anyone close to Lil Bro." Mickey thought to the more pressing topic. "Aqua, you and Ven have dived into the Labyrinth more than the others, what have you learned about it or this Keybearer?" A
qua looked around and knew no one uninvited was listening. "At the most, I know of her name. Suiten. We still don't know her plans with the Labyrinth, but there's evidence that most of the Pokemon that came from that place were someone else entirely before something shattered their hearts. Requiring to be reconstructed." Biven and Penumbra huhed as the Amanto hopped and barked. (Lady's been from that time, she knows who we were!)
The Iron Treads spaced out and beeped softly. (Is that why we had those names?) Abigale smirked and growled. (Indeed, at the least when our creator has had the chance to talk with us.)
Yen Sid nearly gasped. "Could they have once been the heroes who sought to stop the Keyblade War? Or something else?" Terra knew on instinct, what went wrong. "If they were, then it came at a cost when the low lives with the power, shattered their hearts as an example! But why were the hearts put into the bodies of pokemon?!"
Pop!
Out came Crinoid, who listened to the story. (Why are these guys turned into Pokemon?) He felt a strong memory and ahaded. (Here's a crazy thing that we of the Seafarers have heard about from time to time. Every so often, when the world ends up in a ton of danger, these two Pokemon show up to make a team and try to handle it. One of those almost always acts weird and from legend, has memories of being something called a human.)
He and Azu laughed out loud, the druid pondered confused. (Still doesn't add up why it's a bunch of prehistoric guys I haven't even heard of, nor the robots.) He turned to the anomalies. (No offense.) None was taken and Kairi translated for him. "Apparently, a human being turned into a Pokemon that ends up helping save the world, isn't unheard of."
Leon felt that is a weird story. "It explains why they're always confused, relearning how to be." Yen Sid added to that knowledge. "In addition, the trauma from their undoings and this procedure has tampered with their memories." Aqua remembered what happened with the Society of the Blind Eye. "So much so that a device, designed to erase memories, holds the key to some of it being returned." She turned to her fellow Wayfinders. "If we have any hope of getting more answers, we need to capture the last two we've been seeing. The Great Tusk and the Iron Valiant."
Leon explained to his kin. "That prehistoric Donphan we found in that book and a futuristic fusion of Gallade and Gardevoir." Terra was wanting to learn more about the prehistoric vigilante. "The Great Tusk has made great things happen, where ever he goes. He normally looks out for someone and charges head first." Aqua had her own interest to share. "While the Iron Valiant has almost always been at Suiten's side or is directly enacting on her wishes. It's one of the few pokemon who can give a keybearer some trouble. Backing up the story that it was built to teach us a lesson in humility."
Riku laughed to her. "And the fact that type combo is yours."
Aqua blushed and brushed her hair. "Well, that's what we've seen from most of these faerie types and the fighters know the combat many warriors have used over the ages. Everyone else having the idea, to prepare today and head out tomorrow?"
The group had that in mind and Daphne asked. "Practice and experience is always a must if you're taking on a challenge this big. I think we can help you teach your pokemon some handier moves, if you want." They cant complain, though the Wizard advised. "There's no knowledge, as to how far we still need to travel. But uncovering the mystery of this Labyrinth could lead to revelations that will shake apart the universe." Kairi had one more mystery to speak about. "There's also the mystery to where Koraidon, Miraidon and those legends are coming from. They have a direction compared to the others." That will be something to theorize on another day.
Back at Traverse.
The Secret Squad found themselves chatting with the local gang, Lauriam and Elrena spoke out some anxieties about letting Litzia partake in a dangerous mission. Namine and Munkidori cringed. "Sheesh! You guys got a point for not wanting her to go."
Lauriam rolled his eyes at the futility. "Facing that scumbag face to face after thwarting his plans is one of the last things we need for her safety." Dupmic agreed and hand waved with Schemy. "She's going to try anyways. A rebel never takes no for an answer." Elrena tapped her feet in an outburst. "We know that," Sigh. "We know that."
Denryk wasn't exactly worried about a single person. "If there's anything to go by, she's also going to be with guys that want that psycho to drop off the face of the earth. We'll have bigger worries than just her."
It's a reason to hope for the best and Lea put his hands to his hips. "Hey, I thought were all about letting a grudge go?" Denryk laughed lightly. "We are and we're not suppose to act out of revenge or hatred. But I'm not any of you. Some of you want to pay that crook back for everything he's done... maybe more. I'm not the one making that choice when the time comes. You are!" He breathed in and calmed himself. "Just know, there are better options."
For all the good that advise would give, it is heeded. Isa promised. "Since we're not going to go anywhere, we'll be here if you need us." The Secret Squad appreciated that and Roxas was ready to take off. "We got nothing else better to do but making sure our partners get stronger. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to check out more of the town and see if there's still some pokemon we're missing. Namine and Dupmic formed an idea that Denryk was looking forward to watching.
The Squad leader headed out and let out Ceruledge as a scouting partner. They took a patrol at the section of the town being run by the Watchdogs, who were minding their own business and up keeping the settlement. One shining spot in particular, that the boy and his partner has seen, is an electronic store that is showing lit TV screens. Displaying showing reruns of various escapades they've gone through, including a fight between the Watchdogs and round robots with tentacle like legs. Roxas and Ceruledge had a closer look, with the boy asking. "I wonder how they're able to make these work? Like we know there's someone at the other end of these."
Ceruledge was all the more fascinated and sensed someone looking by them. "It's called cable. Someone, somewhere, is putting on recordings of stuff they filmed."
The two looked right at the window, finding a teenage boy with orange spikey hair, a set of head phones and black jacket with a purple stripe in the center and white pants. He pressed his face to the window and isn't too impressed. "The stuff here could have been a lot worse." He turned to show dark blue eyes as Roxas spoke in defense. "It helps if you're stuck in this town, sooner or later, people from that galaxy will find their way here and try to make due with what they lost."
The strange boy was surprised. "Lost?! What the heck happened?" Roxas recalled. "Some galactic warlord was wrecking worlds on a massive scale, so people need somewhere to go." The boy was about to curse at the scope. "Dang, we've been missing out."
The two were confused as the boy explained. "We've been using this place as a vacation spot after some... games were thrown off by some freakos that have eight pointed arrows sticking out." Roxas nearly jumped and Ceruledge had a moment of terror at what he sensed. "Eight arrows?!" He realized. "You guys actually fought off the Forces of Chaos?"
The boy would rather not talk about what he's witnessed. "We've managed, this jerk lead us on a goose chase to this town after we saw this... Vashtorr guy get sucked into a keyhole."
At the mention of a name, the TV screens went static and short circuited, turning off for a few minutes before they turned on. Both boys were counting their blessings that the entity isn't going to be an ordeal, the stranger introduced. "Neku by the way." The two introduced themselves. "Roxas." Ceruledge gave a whisper that the boy translated. "And this is my partner, Ceruledge." Neku checked out the knightly creature. "Cool knight." Roxas offered. "If you're looking for work, there's a place by the central district you can check out."
Neku blushed, he's heard the idea before. "Shiki's been talking on and on about that. She's even met this... Ogerpon that's been making friends with the locals." He was deciding. "They're a lot more friendly then they look?"
Pop!
Out came Espeon and Umbreon, who gave Neku a sniff and rubbed against him, wanting to be petted. A point was made. "We'll look into that, we'll spot you before you see us." Roxas had a better offer. "How about we show you. Me and my partners are in a group. You'll like them." Neku sighed and followed along, heading back to the Ranch when they saw a fight break out.
Dupmic and Namine were having Spoink and Meditite in a sparing match. With the boy watching Spoink sprang up from a high jump kick. He ordered. "One more psybeam and that will be it!"
The Spoink sprang and fired a fast beam at the meditation foe, knocking her out and being declared victor. Namine covered her mouth. "Wow, that's gotta hurt." Spoink bounced as Dupmic laughed. "You, that fake out and all that power was going to leave cracks."
Glimmer!
In a sudden, Spoink glowed, grew larger and had more developed feathers akin to a pig. His pearl burst into three smaller ones, two on his head, an one on his belly. PEW! In place of the small pig is a dancing pig with an head, torso, fingers and toes of psychic purple, with the ears, lower half, legs and arms of black fur. His springy tail and snout were pink. "Grum, Grumpig!"
The drastic change brought attention to the girl and the Meditite that was getting up, she smiled and was over a loss. (Looks like that spring isn't needed anymore, huh?) Grumpig tap danced. (Might not, but look at how I can move!)
Schemy and Dipiti watched, the Murkrow hummed. (Looks like the thrill is never going to part with you.) Dipiti clapped. (Marvelous, half as charming as I.) Grumpig turned with a grunt. (I'd like to see you try.) Dipiti took that as a challenge and was about to ascend to make a point, he noticed Roxas with a companion. Denryk was in a thrill and asked his superior. "We've ran out of problems to solve, so we thought to toughen ourselves up with some battling."
Namine admitted. "Little wonder this is a popular sport across the wormhole." She called back her Meditite as Denyk showed a dusk ball and a luxury ball. "So Boss, you want a go? Some prep before we got to head to the city?" Roxas thought about it as Namine second the advise. "As soon as we step out of Bryn, we're on our own." The squad leader agreed and smiled a the challenge. "So a double?" Denryk hurried to one end. "Double!"
The boys hurried to their side of the yard, Neku wasn't too surprised and sat on a chair to watch. Roxas whistled to Espeon and tossed up a net ball. "Espeon, Ninjask, let's show these guys who's the boss!"
Pop!
Out came the zippy Ninjask as Espeon stretched. Denryk tossed proudly. "Scraggy, Waltza, let's start this!"
Pop!
Out came the hoodlum and the dancer. The Scraggy gave an intimidating glare at the Ninjask as his partner clapped. The Espeon readied a glow as Roxas ordered. "Blast them away while Ninjask splits!"
Denryk gave a particular clap and Scraggy rushed for a fake out clap on the feline, Ninjask split apart in a double team as the Padawan spun. "Quiver dance Waltza!" The Oricorio spun a dance as Denryk aimed. The bird tossed an air cutter as the Ninjask split into more illusions, avoiding the attack as the Espeon took the chance for a dazzling gleam blast that knocked Scraggy out. Ken called the Hoodlum back, whispered to it and tossed a friend ball. "Ogerpon, we're not going down like chumps!"
Pop! Out came an Ogerpon with the Cornerstone Mask. Roxas ordered with out a second thought. "Ninjask, get out of there with a u-turn!" The Ninja sprinted as Denryk stepped back. "Spikey shield!"
Ogerpon braced herself and sprouted thorns, causing the Ninja to collide with a barrier that did more to hurt him. "Baton pass out of there!" The bird did so and vanished, Denryk has a poke ball float and fly. Bringing out a Mr. Mime that took the baton. The Espeon calmed her self as Roxas and Ninjask looked to the Mr. Mime. The bug rushed for a dual wing beat that sent the performer spinning, the Mime glowed in a dazzle and unleashed a blast that sent the bug flying to the ground, with Espeon taking a step back. "Psyshock Ogerpon, she won't stay around for too-" Ogerpon raised her cudgel, had it encased in stone and gave a dance before smacking the Espeon into a wall. A critical blow that demonstrate what they're up against.
Roxas saw he was getting cornered and switched out. "Shedinja, Ceruledge!"
The knight flickered to appear in front of Roxas, like a phantom of shadow, by him was the hollow shell of the Ninja. With a silent force, Denryk ordered. "Mimer, hit that Ceruledge with psyshock and Ogerpon will follow you." The Mr. Mime was suspicious yet charged up, suddenly, Shedinja and Ceruledge glowed in shadows and switched. The knight extended his shadow and caused it to sucker punch the Mime, knocking him out as Ogerpon sprinted after the knight and readied the cudgel.
Bonk!
The knight was knocked to the wall for a knock out, although the Mr. Mime is out of commission. The squad leader smiled wide and called his starter back. "Not bad, predicted that?" Denryk laughed back.
"I don't need it to know where that was going. But that feeling me and my guys have is more than enough to guide us." Roxas called out. "Umbreon, it's your turn!" The dark type sprinted by the Shedinja as Denryk called Mimer back and sent out the Oricorio. "Now that the ghost number one is gone! Let's keep at this dance!" Ogerpon and Waltza danced as one. The Shedinja let loose a fast shadow sneak at the bird as Oricorio twirled an air cutter, the Shedinja was sent flying from an instant knock out as Umbreon jumped over.
Roxas smirked. "Yawn the bird!" Umbreon gave a yawn that made Oricorio drowsy as the squad leader switched to a menace, an Okidogi that flexed and howled.
Ogerpon glared and howled back. Denryk kept a twirl. "I know you're wanting to keep Waltza out, but we still got the dance! One more and Ogerpon can bonk the Umbreon!"
The Oricorio was on it as Roxas ordered. "Double protect!" The duo stepped back and shielded themselves from the double cutter and a rocky cudgel that was meant for the Umbreon. Oricorio fell asleep and Denryk cringed. "Oh boy! Don't give up, stomp that Dogi into the dirt!"
Ogerpon leaped for a stomping tantrum that shook the Retainer, Roxas took a deep breath. "Bulk up while Umbreon finishes the bird!"
Okidogi flexed his muscles as Umbreon leaped at the sleeping bird and sent her to the ground in foul play. Denryk made a switch to something he was aiming to do for a while. "Launch the Forretress!" Pop! Thud! Out came the Forretress that rolled his landing, Ogerpon cringed and set up a spikey shield as Roxas realized. "Oh shoot! Okidogi, punch that cannon ball before he blows! Umbreon, set up wish!"
The Okidogi sprinted for a fast punch that drained health as the Umbreon looked to the sky and glowed. Forretress closed himself and rolled after the two, glowing and setting a shine in Denryk's eyes.
BOOM!
Forrestress unleashed a self destruct that sent Dogi and Umbreon rolling, the thug wasn't in the best of conditions as Umbreon shook off the damage. Forretress opened and passed out in a sigh, Ogerpon pouted. (Oh dear.)
Denryk agreed and called the bug back. "Don't worry, this was part of the plan." Pew! He brought a dive ball and tossed his final pokemon. "Feraligatr, it's time the jaws close in!"
Pop!
Out came the fearsome hunched gator, he gave a sharp eye to Okidogi and roared. "Gator!" Roxas called out. "Now's the time! Drain punch that Ogre!" The Okidogi sprinted after Ogerpon and punched her in the mask, draining quite a lot of health and replenishing himself. The Ogerpon had a purple hue from a toxic and fell over from the faint venom. Okidogi raised his arms and howled, Denryk spun fierce and the Gator performed a dragon dance to match.
"You're not getting away with that!" The Feraligatr glowed his fangs in psychic power and he sprinted on all fours.
CHOMP!
Okidogi braced himself, was chomped in the right arm and was flung as psychic might flowed through him. The dogi was knocked out as Roxas kept to a momentum. "We got this Umbreon, foul play!"
The Umbreon dashed after Feraligatr and kicked him to the ground before flipping and feeling a wish come true. Denryk grred. "Liquidation, don't give up!" Feraligatr enveloped a claw in water and slashed with sheer force, sending Umbreon rolling. The dark type sprinted again and the Gator rolled from the dash before readying another swipe, Umbreon back flipped to get behind the Gator and hurled him to a wall. Feraligatr tried to force himself up in determination and felt himself on his knees. K.O. The battle was decided and Namine was left clapping. "Woot! You got him by a hair, Roxas!"
Dupmic cringed at a close call and watched Denryk holding off something before taking out a flask. There was a feeling that the hoodlum was puffing his cheeks as he blissfully laughed. "Oh, ha, ha, ha, ha! Cool thinking boss, thought we had you."
Roxas and Umbreon shared that smirk, the leader was about to send out his beaten team for a fast healing. He let Denryk send out his team and cast a wide healing spell for them. The Padawan's laughter died down. "Ha...I was about to do that... boss."
Roxas approached and offered a hand shake. "I know, but you and your partners gave us a sweat." Denryk smirked under his mask and took the offer. Ogerpon woke up and looked around. (What happened?! Did we win?) Scraggy saw Feraligatr getting up and irked. (Doubt that.) He noticed a rather impressed Neku and approached. (So, who's the new kid?)
Neku realized he's been spotted as Roxas explained. "He and some dudes are new to the town. They got caught up in the fight against Chaos and someone thought they'd take a vacation." That more than impressed the three and Dupmic wondered. "How'd you get out of that one in one piece?" Neku nearly stuttered. "We...we have a way to fight back. This crazy mecho guy helped us stand a chance against those hell engines."
Dupmic knew the stranger's mentioning Daemon Engines as the boy had a closer peak at the ranch and was quickly greeted by a Tauros who noticed him and moo'd. Neku was in thought as Namine explained. "You and your friends might have missed out on a few things that lead up to that festival. But we'd like to have more of a helping hand. Think they'd like to volunteer?"
Tauros approached Neku, had a sniff and was petted on the mane, the bull was oddly calm for his appearance. "We might, but we're also trying to find this jerk before he starts something." Roxas asked. "What does he look like? Does he cause trouble for you?"
Neku closed his eyes and calmed himself with the bull. "He does, but he's also helped us when we needed the edge over Vashtorr." BZZ! Flicker! Lamp lights turned off all of a sudden. "His eyes look purple, he's always looking like the smug jerk that you'd want to punch. You can't miss him."
Denryk felt the description familiar. "Some friends of ours, who are working in a city that's far away from here, met this weirdo that's isn't a local from there and mentioned about leaving some guys in a place for the homeless. Does... a Joshua ring any bells?"
Neku turned in a gasp as the lights turned back on. "That's him! What the heck is he doing?" The masked one wondered. "That's what our City Squad is needing to know. We didn't really get much of a report at the party. But since they've finished some pretty big stuff, it wouldn't hurt to call them."
Roxas agreed and asked the stranger. "You mind sharing some details? Some of our friends are rookies and we don't need them heading into danger because they end up trusting the wrong guy." Neku sighed. "If I gotta."
During a day in Sanfransokyo
Havoc is unleashed once again, Fred was in costume and was giving chase to a Globby and Ditto, who took the form of a giant penny with a wad of gum. The penny rolled across the street as the super hero rapid fired fire balls, scorching much of the environment as Globby made it his goal to avoid getting blasted. Woosh! Rushing over the flames, splashing them to smoulders, was Finizen, trying to keep the damage contained. Globby chucked as he was losing sight. "You got to get that third eye checked, because your aim's off!"
Rumble! BURST!
Suddenly, an earth power burst where Globby was going and sent the two flying loose. Globby turned back to his blob form and flung his limb to a nearby car. Taking a stand as Ditto noticed where it came from, a slow approaching Ken who worked with the Sandy Shocks to make the intercepting blast. The Ditto leaped and transformed into the anomaly as the one armed boy glided. Globby jumped to a truck and Ken made a sharp turn to fly at the crook. Globby turned his hand into a shield and blocked a blow from the blade. He whistled. "Sheesh what an aim."
He looked to a cross section and decided on calling back a Ditto that was dancing around an earth power blast. "You got some issues kid." He flung his limb off. "You might want to take care of the wreckage your friend over there is making." Ken huhed and notice the limb made contact with a bus, allowing Globby to be sent flying with it. He and the Sandy Shocks realize their target has gotten away and they looked around to find bystanders staring at them. Even more so at Fred, who was hopping. "Epic aim dude! It's like you were at the zone."
Ken looked to the wrecked bricks, cars that were nearly smashed and street lights that were broken. Finizen caught up and panted at the mess he had to halt. "Well, I was told Globby and Ditto were found again. It confirms a worry that those two are a sync pair and trying to snag that little blob might be more of a jerk move." He and Sandy Shocks looked at the hardening crater they caused. "Maybe chasing those guys wildly isn't the best idea." He shrugged. "But what can we do? Most of the guys are at school."
He called Sandy Shocks back as Fred did the same for Finizen, they headed to a dark alley and the one armed boy performed a fast shadow step to get back to the Bryn base. Fred wasn't getting tired of that technique as Ken confessed. "We probably shouldn't have invited you guys last night. Haven't been to School in a long time, so I forgot that it's schedule doesn't line up." Fred gasped. "You're kidding? That festival was awesome, that big ranch you guys are working on is like a Pelago brought to life."
Ken remembers hearing about that. "A whole storage facility where those guys can relax and be away from danger." Fred added. "Some of them were even out of there and getting along with the locals. Living together in harmony." Ken felt a little better. "Kind of like what goes on over at the base if we didn't have to be discrete." Fred hopped as Ken went for the back door and explained the events. "Oh that's not the coolest part, it happened because some guys you've picked to watch those worlds helped with an expedition up that mountain. Denryk started most of that when he went on a mission to protect that Ogerpon. Then Roxas, Namine and Dupmic busted the "Loyal" Three and totally had them turn over a new leaf through actual heroism."
Ken blushed as Fred remembered. "Three keybearers and a Jedi in training." Ken laughed. "A what in training?! Unless Denryk's walking around with a light saber then-" He stopped. "He totally showed one off, did he?"
Fred flipped the top of his costume. "The sword of legends that a Force User has with them at all times. What's Denryk's story? Is he a twin that was cast off into a far away Galaxy?" Ken had his hand at the door knob and he whispered. "No, but he's a lot more of a friend than he thought he was going to be. I think we need to start sharing some info, because there's stuff we forgot to mentioned." He opened it, found the Sensei practicing his moves and lead the nerd all the way to the attic. Where Xion, the Twilight Town Trio, Tinker, Sharp Shell and Iron Thorns were helping with the Cart. It had the desired rails, a proper cart door and is in the color of purple.
Hayner noticed and saw Fred was the only one visiting. "How did the request go?"
Ken answered clearly. "School happened, so our experts can't be here. But I got news on what could make a rechargeable battery." He showed a list. "Alkaline and electrodes that will help keep it going. Could be a while before the secret of the Trash World is ours." Hayner scoffed. "And where did you get the idea to make napalm when we were fighting against-" Ken finished fast. "We had to make due with what we could get when we had that big Heartless problem a decade ago. But making a bunch of long lasting batteries shouldn't be as dangerous."
Blip! Blip!
Bryn was ringing a message from Connect, Hayner went to a screen to see who's calling. The Destiny Trio, the Sun Kids the Wayfinders and the Secret Squad were present with in a hotel room. Along with an stranger in orange spikey hair. The city travelers stood firm in attention as Fred admitted. "Now the plot thickens."
Aqua was concerned about her students stalwart attitude. "Ken, are you still on duty today?" The one armed boy clenched his hand, stuck out his thumb and pinkie, signaling yes and no. "We need this cock pit to be ready soon and we're getting started on a pet project, to learn about this world that a Guzzlord fell into."
Leon gasped. "A Guzzlord?" Hayner explained. "Big round dragon that looks like it could and would, eat everything it can get those tongues on. He had some bad burns on his legs and was scared of us as we were of him." Olette was disgusted at what he remembered. "The world he was in is a complete dump. Literally, so much trash everywhere that the grass hasn't had any real sunshine in a long time." Daphne cringed. "Sheesh! If Guzzlord was actually the one fixing that issue, then it's got to be bad."
Ken agreed and looked to the stranger. "And who's this?"
The boy answered rather annoyed. "Just Neku. Hey, someone said something about you running into this purple eyed weirdo? I'm one of the guys he dumped over here." The teenagers gasped and Sharp Shell asked. (Then you got to know about that Joshua guy?) Ken answered. "Kind of, he's the reason we found that Guzzlord in the first place and is able to open a rift between worlds. Is this how he brought you to Traverse or something?"
Neku nodded. "You figured out that he isn't what he seems and you haven't figured out what he's up to?" The band shook their heads and Xion listed what was known. "He apparently heard of me and Ken, he knows about what he's done during the War against Chaos and it feels like he's hinting us towards bigger things."
Neku groaned. "Definitely him." He explained. "Just take my word for this. It sounds like he's helping you, but he's not going to just hand you over answers unless you look for them. Where could you find those answers, if you bother?"
Fred gasped and jumped. "Oh, oh. I know!" He answered. "That crystal labyrinth!" The Iron Thorns gave a bright shine as Aqua felt it right. "If you ever see those and you feel something is off, just watch out. Strange forces that could date back to the Keyblade War are conducting the impossible in there."
Neku looked pale for a moment, Denryk stilled and went back to the topic. "Did that guys plan help Guzzlord at all?" Xion added her part. "I used the power of the Life Swarm to heal those burns. He started calming down after that."
Leon and Terra felt that description familiar, the coordinator pressed his hands in appreciation. "Thank you, Guzzlord might be a dragon type with some of the thickest health stat around, but it's got to take heat comparable to lava or something for it to hurt him that badly." Terra thought. "You don't think that Wormhole we made back in the Pridelands, sent that same Ultra Beast over there, did it?"
Leon thought as Ken raised a finger. "Same burns? Really didn't like having anyone aim for that and did more to get out of there then he did trying to eat you?"
The youngster remembered. "Oh yeah. Due to my condition as a Faller, it was likely that Guzzlord was trying to get back home. You might have given Guzzlord the chance he needed to make better of himself." He looked over to Neku. "You think that Joshua knew about this?" The boy believed it. "Yeah. He was one of the first to figure out that something was throwing a huge wrench in his game. You won't believe the kind of face he made when he mentioned the name Vashtorr-" FLICKER!
The whole base blacked out and the lights flickered. The Iron Thorns suddenly collapsed and begun to twitch. Olette gasped and hurried. "Thorns! Thorns!" She, Tinker and Skarmory hurried to roll the Thorns to his side. Pence hurried to take out a cushion and use it as a pillow for the Thorns. Ken tapped the ship by the screen. "Bryn! It's fine. It's fine!"
Bzzz!
The lights turned on and the screen was slowly reconnecting. The Iron Thorns snapped out of his seizure and panted, confused about where he is and needing a moment to regain his senses. It wasn't long before he and Bryn were feeling like themselves.
The screen turned on and showed Roxas gaping in horror while Denryk had his mask off and looked like he heard about something of pure evil. He tried calming him and Neku down. "That shock sent a ripple that the machines know about. He sounds like something pretty close to a Chaos god if even the name brings a fear so potent that the machines shut down."
The Guardians saw the screen was back and Denryk realized his face was being looked at. "Guys, is Bryn alright?! Did anything happen to that Robo- Tyranitar when he heard that name?" Olette hurried and barked. "Bryn freaked out and I think Thorns got a seizure from that. I think they're fine, it's just a split minute. But don't bring that name up."
Fred agreed with that. "A Daemonic machine so wicked and infamous that the mere mention of his name will make any machines to hear the name go haywire." Ken wanted to curse out. "No sh-" and stopped. "We got that by now. He's definitely a bad enough dude that the spirits of every machine around here has the idea of what he's capable of, even if they never met him. Nobody brings that name up, especially when Baymax is doing something important. Understand?"
That vow is made and Riku hand waved. "Besides, we're done with Chaos, it's been banished back to where they came. V...that's not our problem anymore."
Neku cringed. "If you don't count the nightmares and the idea that thing is the embodiment of the desire to invent and discover." He felt himself rubbed by an Espeon and felt himself calming down, Denryk and Roxas kept close to the stranger. Ken followed along to a more pressing matter. "Joshua gave us a lead to interesting people who could help out if we give them a chance to expand that world and they need the distraction to move on. Now-" Xion went down the stairs to get something. "So, besides the whole Momokase incident. We found some interesting pokemon that's helping with the night shift. Three Bisharps that know the Pawniard gang and they might know Kingambit too."
Pop!
Out of Leon's ball came the blue Kingambit that gave a fierce cry. (You found the Bisharp elites?!) Denryk felt his heart racing as Leon squeed. "Are you sure it's three? Any we are missing?"
Kingambit shook his head as Xion climbed back up and showed the balls, she let out the three and the Alpha Bisharp saw who was at the screen. Daggers came out and joined with the Alpha as she stood firmly and crossed her blades. (Kingambit, sir!) The Bisharps saw and joined in salute. (It's good to see you're alive.)
The Kingambit grunted. (As to you and the Pawniards. You know that due to my absence, these lot are your best bet at surviving. How goes that?)
The Alpha lowered her guard. (Boring, the few night walkers we find won't dare to cross our attention.) Daggers added. (One of us is spending time with those super heroes as we speak. The Small Switch Blade.) Kingambit ahed. (Good, good. You all could use that experience for later.)
Ken saw the merriment and continued. "That lead us to finding this Robo-Cobalion, or the Iron Crown and while we were fighting Pete and Globby, this Robo-Terrakion came to help us out." He messed with the Dex, found and entry and inserted the Data. Bringing up a machine that caused Neku to gasp. "Woah."
Leon read out loud. "Iron Boulder: The Single Blade Pokemon: Rock/ psychic. It resembles a Pokémon described in a dubious magazine as a Terrakion that had been modified by an evil organization. Its body seems metallic."
Poppy imagined. "It sounds like you have your hands full, right as soon as you helped bring Eleki home and secure the Explorer Pokemon. You feel like you'll need some help?"
Ken thought about it. "For capturing Pokemon and keeping an eye on stuff going on, no. But if some of you don't got anything better to do, it can get some pressure off of us. Only one easy way in and out, that Bryn will inform us about."
With permission granted, the Secret Squad kept quiet. Fred asked. "Right now though, we're trying to capture this Globby guy. He can turn himself into just about anything-" Pence added. "not just looking like them."
Fred continued. "A giant penny, bowling balls, chocolate. You name it. He's even got a side kick with him that you know about." Dupmic laughed. "Still sounds like he isn't as dangerous as the other two Shapeshifters we've handled."
Riku added. "He probably isn't, but if he and Pete are getting bright ideas, then you really shouldn't underestimate them." He requested. "You know about who got kicked out of our worlds and you know the City you're in isn't covered. If things escalate, we're expecting you and Xion to handle it."
Ken and Xion saluted, the girl promised. "Don't worry, soon as the cart is finished, we'll be patrolling."
The one armed boy pointed a thumb to Fred. "Until we can talk with Hiro and the others, we're having to keep Fred close by. Just so he doesn't break something he shouldn't."
Pop!
Out came a Finizen that flapped his flippers in protest. (He needs a side kick around!) That warranted a laugh.
