I forgot to mention this last chapter, but the past version of Dinah Drake would be played by Florence Pugh.

Watchtower
Late afternoon
The room was silent after Sara and Clark had reported back what Lana had told them, everyone looking at Oliver, who was pinching the bridge of his nose as he processed this news. Several moments passed.
"Ollie?" Sara called out carefully as they all watched him worriedly.
"I feel like I should have expected this. My past keeps coming back to haunt me. Of course Prometheus would be Slade's son," Oliver said with a humorless laugh. "Only saving grace is that Slade isn't here to see this. It would kill him to see that Joe followed in his footsteps."
"On the bright side, now that we know who he really is, should make it easier for me to track him down," Chloe said as she began typing at the computer. "He has to have a base somewhere. I'll see if I can find any buildings with links to Joe, Slade or ASIS."
"Even if you find it, we can't make a move on it until we know Dinah is safe," Carter pointed out.
"But it'll help us narrow the search after we find Dinah. Because a man like Joe isn't going to stay in one place once he knows his leverage against Bobbi is gone," Chloe pointed out, her gaze not moving from the computers.
"She's right. Find any safe houses Prometheus might be using," Clark ordered and Chloe nodded, her gaze not moving from her task.
In the med bay, Emil was examining Ronnie, with Tess acting as his assistant.
"I appreciate the help, but you should be resting. You just escaped a maximum security prison," Emil told her.
"I've done enough resting. Besides, feels good to be using my skills to be helping someone again," Tess said as Barry walked in.
"It appears we have an audience. Mr. Allen," Emil nodded at him.
"Hey, I'm just here to see how Ronnie's doing," Barry said with a nod at Ronnie.
"Not Ronnie. FIRESTORM," Ronnie said.
"He keeps saying that. Any idea what it means?" Emil asked and Barry paused.
"FIRESTORM. It was a project that Martin Stein was working on that focused on Transmutation," Barry said, remembering Caitlin asking about it.
"The action of changing one state of being into another," Tess noted and Barry nodded.
"FIRESTORM," Ronnie repeated.
"What do you mean by that? Please, if you want us to help, we need to understand," Barry said as he walked over to him. "What do you know about FIRESTORM?"
"Made us…like this. The other…he wants to go home. But don't know," Ronnie rambled as they all looked at him in confusion.
"Other? What are you talking about?" Barry asked.
"I believe he means Ronnie Raymond," they all looked at Charles as he rolled in "Isn't that right, Professor Stein?"
"Stein?" Emil asked but Tess' eyes lit up in realization.
"Transmutation, of course! He's not one person, he's two! Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein!" Tess said excitably.
"That appears to be what I'm getting from his thoughts," Charles agreed as he rolled in, looking at Ronnie curiously. "The Dark Matter of the Particle Accelerator explosion caused FIRESTORM to activate and, when he collided with Mr. Raymond, Professor Stein found himself fused together with him. Trapped in Mr. Raymond's body but in control, unable to go home to the woman he loved."
"Clarissa," Ronnie said, a reverent look crossing his face.
"How do we split one man back into two?" Emil wondered.
"I might have an idea about that," they all turned to see Clark standing in the doorway. "My father – my biological father, that is –sent me to earth with an AI composed of all his knowledge and the knowledge of Krypton. I came across a similar event in the history of Krypton during my training. A Quantum Splicer should be able to return the both of to their bodies."
"Can you get your hands on one?" Barry asked and Clark nodded after a moment.
"Yeah. The Fortress should be able to create one. But it means I need to go back to the Fortress," Clark said, his face growing grim at the thought of facing Jor-El again.
"Are you sure that's wise? We're in uncharted territory here, Clark," Emil warned.
"We might not have a choice, if I'm understanding these readings right," Tess said as they all turned to her, Tess looking at a tablet. "Ronnie and Stein sharing the same body for so long with the FIRESTORM Matrix is making it unstable. He's fine now, but the next time he uses his powers, it could accelerate the instability and create a nuclear explosion, one that would take out all of Metropolis."
"Then we don't have any other choice. I'll head to the Fortress, then I'll take him somewhere no one can be hurt in case this goes south," Clark said before speeding out of the room and the building.
In another part of the building, Logan was sitting down, staring at the picture of himself, Dinah and a young Bobbi when he heard someone approach. He didn't bother turning around, knowing it was.
"Nice picture," Sara said as she sat down next to him. "Carter give you that?"
"Yeah. This was taken shortly before Hydra came after us," Logan said, pocketing the picture. "It's all starting to come back. I'm starting to remember….everything."
"Including being a father," Sara noted and Logan chuckled.
"Oliver told you?" he guessed.
"No, the Professor. He thought you could use someone to talk too that wasn't an X-Men or had some personal investment in Bobbi," Sara said and paused. "How are you feeling?"
"I don't even know. I missed out on my daughter's whole life. I remember holding her in my arms after she was born, telling her I would never let her down. But I did," Logan said in guilt.
"It wasn't your fault. Hydra and Stryker are to blame, not you. If everything Ollie told me about her is true, and what I saw during the Siege…Bobbi wouldn't blame you for that," Sara said gently and Logan smiled tightly.
"Bobbi. I keep trying to call her that in my head but…I always knew her as Laura. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that they're the same person," Logan said and it was silent for a long moment. "I'm not sure how to do this. Be a dad."
"You already were. And from the sounds of it, you were a good one. You'll probably make mistakes, but most dads do. I could tell you stories about mine," Sara said with a grin and Logan barked out a laugh. "Just try to be there for her, get to know her as she is now, not the little girl she was all those years ago."
"Getting parenting advice from the woman I just asked on a sort of date. God is laughing at me somewhere," Logan said with a humorless chuckle.
"My ex-boyfriend, who is also my sister's ex-boyfriend, is in love with your daughter. I don't think there's a handbook for this kind of thing," Sara said and paused once more. "Look, I can't pretend to know what you're feeling. But I'm here, for whatever you need."
Logan turned towards her and they stared at each other. Then, slowly, they leaned in and their lips met in a kiss.
Elsewhere, the former Avengers and Fury were holding a meeting, Steve having just recounted his conversation with Rhodey.
"Tony's been marked by Darkseid?" Natasha asked incredulously.
"I can't say that for certain, but the way Rhodey described his behavior, as well as what happened when we met him last night, it would certainly fit the behaviors of people marked by Darkseid, such as Ross," Steve pointed out.
"If any of you were going to be marked by Darkseid, Stark would be the most vulnerable to him, especially given everything that went down with Zemo and The Accords," Fury noted.
"In any case, I told Rhodey to get Vision and himself away from Tony. He said he'd be in touch when he knew they were safe," Steve explained.
"Tony being marked by Darkseid, things couldn't get much worse," Clint said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "If Tony's been marked, Darkseid knows all about us, our strengths, our weaknesses…it's why he never tried to mark Steve. Because he knew he would fail."
"What do we do now?" Wanda asked quietly and Steve straightened up, putting aside his own doubts and fears to focus on leading.
"Only thing we can do. Try to prepare for whatever comes next," Steve said firmly.
Fortress of Solitude
Not long after
Clark appeared in the Fortress, slowly walking inside. No sound emitted. Jor-El was completely silent.
"Jor-El, I need a Quantum Splicer," Clark said and it was still silent. "A man who is using Transmutation technology has fused with another being and is now growing unstable. It could cause a nuclear explosion that will kill thousands of people. I may have failed to live up to your expectations, but if you refuse to help me save these people, you will have disappointed all of mine."
For another moment, it was silent. Then, something appeared out of thin air and floated towards Clark. As it neared him, Clark saw it was a metal device that looked like a circle.
"Thank you, Father," Clark said as he grabbed it. "You may have lost faith in me, but I will never stop fighting to protect this planet and its people."
Clark turned around to leave when suddenly; there was a glow behind him. Clark paused, turning around and his eyes widened as he took in the scene before him.
"My son, I've only had the joy of knowing you for a few weeks. I wish I could be with you always, to guide you and protect you," Lara, his birth mother, said as she and Jor-El appeared several feet away from him.
"We don't have much time," Jor-El told her gently.
"My dearest Kal-El, our love will always be with you. I can already see your carry with you your father's independent spirit," Lara said.
"But more importantly, your mother's never ending bravery and her compassionate heart," Jor-El said with a brief glance at his wife, a look in his eyes that Clark had only seen when his earth parents had looked at each other.
In a daze, Clark walked over and tried to touch Lara only for his hand to go straight through her. She was a hologram, Clark realized, feeling foolish for not figuring it out earlier. He almost missed Lara's next words.
"Your father tells me the world you're journeying to, Earth, is full of complicated being capable of great emotion. My wish is for you to live a full and fulfilled life. But I need you to know you were born of a great love," Lara said emotionally. "And your brilliant father has devised a way for you to carry on that love, without us."
"The ship I designed to carry you to your destiny can only carry one Kryptonian. One Kryptonian who has so much potential, so unlike your father," Jor-El said shamefully.
"No," Lara said soothingly, lightly grabbing his head and kissing him on the cheek.
"Your mother and I cannot come with you. To do so would be to burden your innocent soul with our frailties and failures. But you have within you the best of both of us. And I am sending with you all my knowledge but none of my ego and regrets. They will die with me here, on Krypton," Jor-El said, looking up as the sound of an explosion was heard. "Whatever trials I will put you through, I will never lose faith in you."
"Quickly, before it's too late," Lara told him softly. "We may not have been able to save our planet-"
"But we are confident you will become Earth's greatest savior," Jor-El continued. "And never doubt that, just as you are a part of us, we will always be a part of you. Farwell, my son."
"Farwell," Lara echoed before, in a flash of light, they vanished.
As the lights in the fortress came back on, Clark was left staring at the spot where they had vanished, a montage of emotions warring within him.
Metropolis
Not long after
In his hotel room, Peter is packing his stuff when he hears a knock on the door.
"Peter? You there?" Harry's voice called from outside.
"Just a second!" Peter called out, hastily putting his damaged mask inside his suitcase and closing it before opening the door to let Harry in. "Sorry about that."
"It's fine; you apparently had a busy night. What were you doing in the city anyway?" Harry asked curiously as he walked into Peter's room.
"I couldn't sleep, so I went for a walk. Then I saw the crash and helped Dr. Hamilton get the driver to his house. Just glad I was there to help," Peter lied, hating doing so.
While he hated Norman for what he did to his father, Harry was his friend. And Peter doubted he knew anything about it.
"Anything happen while I was gone?" Peter asked as he grabbed his suitcase.
"You remember Howard from Oscorp? Apparently he was caught trying to buy a black market proto type of the project that the Goblin stole from Oscorp. Dad had no idea and is now condemning Howard and giving the authorities his full cooperation," Harry explained.
Peter fought hard to keep his face blank, remembering his father's video message. Norman was doing it again, setting someone else to take the fall for his crimes.
"Must be hard on Oscorp," Peter said, trying to keep his voice normal.
"No, actually. Apparently Dad is now going to be head of a new project that Howard was leading. So I guess things turned out alright," Harry shrugged.
"Yeah…guess so," Peter muttered, trying not to let Harry onto his true feelings.
At that same moment, Sam was standing outside a car on a deserted road when a black limo rolled up, stopping several feet away. After a moment, someone got out and walked over to Sam.
"Sam," Lyla greeted him as she reached him. "Good to see you again."
"Preferably with you not arresting me," Sam said dryly and she smiled tightly.
"Which is why, as far as anyone else knows, this meeting isn't taking place," Lyla noted before looking back at the car. "That where she is?"
"Yeah," Sam noted as two men in suits got out of the limo. "You sure they can be trusted?"
"Yes," Lyla said with certainty and, after a moment, Sam nodded.
"Good enough for me," Sam said before walking back to the car, opening the door and pulling out the struggling Lana Lang. "Lyla, meet Lana Lang, AKA the Power Broker."
"I'm aware. ARGUS has been trying to take her down for years, but her identity and location were always out of reach. Thank you for that, and you can thank the others too," Lyla said as her men grabbed Lana from Sam. "She'll never get out of where she's going."
"Make sure she doesn't," Sam said, looking as Lana was hauled away before he turned and walked over to the car. "Say hi to Dig for me."
"I will. And Sam…good luck. For all our sakes," Lyla told him.
Sam nodded before getting in the car, putting it into drive before beginning to make his way back towards Watchtower.
Watchtower
Not long after
Tess was in the kitchen, eating a sandwich when someone walked in, Tess looking up to see it was Steve.
"Sorry. I can leave if you want," Tess said.
"You being here isn't a problem. We're all on the same side," Steve assured her.
Tess nodded but still seemed a little wary around him. Which he couldn't blame her for, given what little he knew about her.
"How are you feeling? It must be an adjustment, after being in The Raft for so long," Steve asked concerned and Tess shrugged.
"I've been through worse. Being able to eat regular food again is certainly a plus," Tess noted as she glanced back down at her sandwich. "When you're in a place like The Raft…it's the little things you miss, being able to get up in the middle of the night for a snack, being able to talk to people, even just going for a walk…you don't appreciate those things until they're all taken away from you."
"I know. Trust me. More than anyone else, I know," Steve said, remembering waking up in the 21st century and surrounded by a world unfamiliar to him.
"Yeah, I guess you would," Tess said, seeming to read his mind and there was a pause.
"I hear you've been helping Emil figure out what's wrong with Ronnie," Steve said, trying to make conversation and she nodded.
"Yeah. Been a while since I was able to use my skills to help someone. Felt…good. Felt like maybe I was making up for everything I did," Tess said and Steve looked at her for a moment. "What?"
"In the Jewish faith, redemption is a process," Steve finally said and she looked at him oddly. "You've been on the wrong side of things for a while now, right?"
"More years than I can count," Tess admitted.
"Then you don't get to do just one and claim you've repented, than you've changed. You have to change first," Steve said, glancing out of the room to see Natasha, Logan and Wanda talking. "Natasha, Logan, Wanda….I've seen them risk their lives more times than I can count, save hundreds of people that they will never even meet. And every day, they still get up, and they still fight, because there's more for them to do still. You want redemption; you have to do the work, Tess. Helping Ronnie is a good start, but that's all it is, Tess. A start. You gotta do the work first."
Steve then turned and walked out, leaving Tess staring into space as she placed her half eaten sandwich back on the plate, considering Steve's words.
At the same time, Oliver staring out the window at Metropolis, deep in thought as Barry walked up to him.
"You okay?" Barry asked.
"No. You?"
"Not really," Barry acknowledged and it was silent for a beat. "I can't imagine what you're going through, but I'm here if you wanna talk."
"I appreciate that but I wouldn't even know where to start. No matter what I do, it seems my past keep coming back to haunt me. My dad, Slade, Bobbi…no matter how I try to move forward, it always drags me back," Oliver said with a sigh.
"I know the feeling," Barry noted and Oliver looked at him curiously. "Every time I think I've accepted my mom's death…I don't know. It's like I'm back there, staring down at her body."
"When the Gambit went down…my dad made it to the lifeboat with me," Oliver said after a moment, Barry looking at him in surprise. "It was him, me and a crewmember. Enough food and water for one person, maybe. My dad pulled out a gun, shot the crewmember, told me to survive and turned the gun on himself."
"You never told me that," Barry said in shock and Oliver smiled tightly.
"You're one of the few still alive I have told. I spent a long time blaming myself. It's only recently that I'm learning to let go, forgive myself. You need to move on, Barry. You were only a child when Thawne killed your mother, nothing you could do. You need to forgive yourself," Oliver and Barry scoffed.
"You say that like it's easy."
"It's the hardest thing in this world," Oliver told him firmly. "But you're no good to anyone if you can't move on. Barry…let the past stay in the past. If your mother was as wonderful as you say she is, it's what she'd want. For you to live your own life."
Oliver patted him on the shoulder before walking off, leaving Barry to his thoughts.
A few feet away, Chloe was still working on getting information on any safe houses Kane might have when Andrea walked up behind her.
"You've come a long way from the Daily Planet," Andrea noted and Chloe shrugged.
"We all have to grow up eventually. How'd you end up involved in all this?" Chloe asked, pausing in her search as she turned to the other woman, who smiled tightly.
"I was in Blud Haven, living as close to an ordinary life as you can. I made the mistake of stopping a mugging. Next thing I know, Ross' men are busting down my door, shooting me with tranquilizers and I'm waking up in a cell on The Raft," Andrea said grimly.
"I'm sorry. I know how it feels to try to do the right thing and have it bow up in your face," Chloe said, remembering her mistakes in the Davis situation. "But, if it's any consolation, it wasn't a mistake. Just bad timing."
"I know. This Darkseid guy is messing with people's heads," Andrea noted, having heard the story from Clark. "You really think you can stop him?"
"Between Clark, The Arrow, The Flash, The Avengers, and The X-Men? I hope so," Chloe said before Clark sped in. "Speaking of which-"
"Any luck on any safe houses?" Clark asked as he walked over.
"Nothing yet, but I haven't been at this an hour. I'll keep looking. You find what you were looking for?" Chloe asked and Clark remembered the message Jor-EL had shown him before nodding.
"Yeah. I'm gonna take Ronnie somewhere safe before I use it. I have no idea what might happen when I activate it, I want us as far away from civilization as I can get," Clark said firmly.
"I'm going with you," the two of them looked up as Barry approached. "I owe it to Caitlin to see this through, make sure Ronnie's okay. You try to leave without me, I'll just follow you."
"Okay. But we need to be careful. I tell you to run, you run," Clark ordered and Barry nodded his agreement.
The Arctic
Later
Barry stood back as Clark attached the device to Ronnie's chest.
"This will probably hurt," Clark warned and Ronnie/Stein nodded. "Time to see if this works."
Clark activated the device before speeding back. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, Ronnie's hands and heard caught on fire before his entire body was engulfed in flames. They could hear Ronnie/Stein groan in pain.
"No, no," Barry said horrified, not wanting to tell Caitlin she'd lost Ronnie a second time.
"Hold on, just wait," Clark told him calmly, his gaze not moving from Ronnie/Stein.
The flames shot up, the sound of an explosion piecing the air. Then, the flames were gone, leaving smoke. Barry and Clark stared, waiting to see anything. Then, they heard a cuff and Ronnie walked through the smoke, waving the smoke away. His shirt was torn in several places.
"That was…weird," Ronnie said and Barry grinned.
"You get used to it, Ronnie. It is Ronnie, right?" Barry asked and Ronnie smiled.
"Yeah. You're Caitlin and Cisco's friend," Ronnie said, remembering him from the vague memories he'd had of seeing things through Stein's eyes.
"Yeah. I'm Barry, nice to meet you," Barry said as he walked over, holding out a hand to Ronnie.
"Excuse me," a voice said and they all turned to see Stein, who Barry was surprised to see was a man he'd talked to on the train the day of the Accelerator explosion. "But obviously, I need a change of clothes."
"We know just where you can get some. Nice to see you in the flesh again, Professor Stein," Barry said with a large grin.
Watchtower
Later
'So how are they doing, Doc?" Barry asked as Emil and Tess scanned and examined Ronnie and Stein.
"Aside from a slight fever, they're both perfectly healthy," Emil said with a frown.
"Hopefully that is now the only thing Ronald and I have in common," Stein said and Ronnie glared at him.
"Ronnie. And I couldn't agree more," Ronnie snapped and Stein raised an eyebrow.
"Is there something you wish to say, Ronnie?"
"You weren't exactly the most conscientious body-mate," Ronnie snapped.
"You do not consider keeping you alive to be conscientious?" Stein asked incredulously.
"We were living under a bridge, eating garbage!" Ronnie protested as they each got to their feet.
"I did not determine that it would be my mind that would define our existence, but thank God it was. I could feel your fear and panic, emotions that likely would have gotten us killed in that state!" Stein snapped.
"You kept me buried down. Away from the woman I loved," Ronnie sneered.
"Which is likely why she is still alive," Stein said coolly.
"You can believe that all want, I don't care. I just wanna go see Caitlin. Barry, let's go. Take me home," Ronnie demanded as he turned to the Speedster.
"Ronnie…we can't go home. Not yet," Barry said slowly and Ronnie looked at him in disbelief.
"Why now?" Ronnie asked dangerously.
"Ronnie, think for a minute," Barry started.
"Not exactly one of his strong suits," Stein interrupted and got three exasperated looks.
"Don't help," Tess told him.
"We just broke you out of a maximum security prison run by one of the most powerful men in the country. Ross knows what you are, what you are both are. He'll want the FIRESTORM Matrix. He knows where you'll go, he'll be watching Caitlin. If you go to her now, you'll just be putting her in more danger," Barry explained.
"Take it from me, you don't want to be on the wrong side of a man like Ross," Tess said darkly, remembering everything he'd done to her.
"So what, I'm just supposed to stay away from her?" Ronnie demanded.
"If you would prefer her to be out of danger, yes. Why do you think I haven't demanded someone take me to see why wife?" Stein asked and Ronnie's face was turning red.
"It won't be forever. But until we can figure out a way to stop Ross, the best thing you can do for Caitlin is to stay away her," Barry promised him and, after a moment, he nodded.
"Fine. Just keep him away from me," Ronnie snapped, pointing at Stein before storming off.
"Mr. Allen, would you mind directing me towards the kitchen. I find myself rather famished," Stein said and Barry nodded.
"Sure, come on," Barry said, leading Stein out of the room.
"Do you think they're as separated as they hope?" Emil asked once they were gone as Tess looked down at her tablet.
"I don't know. They seem fine, but they're both running at a temperature of 100.6. I'll have to run some more tests to be sure…but I don't think we can say for sure yet," Tess said grimly.
Elsewhere in the building, Jay was on the phone, talking to his wife.
"I'll be home as soon as I can. I love you too," Jay said before hanging up. "I was wondering when you'd seek me out. I know you must have a lot of questions."
Jay then turned around to see Wanda standing a few feet away. For a moment, it was silent.
"Mom never mentioned you," Wanda noted and Jay grimaced.
"That would be my fault. Contact between us was scarce after the Justice Society broke up. We were all a bit paranoid after Hydra came after Dinah and Bobbi, we didn't want the same thing happening to us. I didn't want it getting back to Hydra that I had a sister somewhere. I thought she was safe in Sokovia, but I wasn't taking any chances. I had no idea she was….until I heard about you on the news," Jay said and it was quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry. If I'd known about you and Pietro, about Lorna…I'd have come for you and brought you home."
"It's okay. From the sounds of it, you live a pretty complicated life. Seems like you did the best with what you got," Wanda said and Jay smiled tightly.
"No, it's not okay. None of this okay," Jay sighed as he leaned against a wall, suddenly feeling the weight of all his years.
"What do we do about Magneto?" Wanda asked quietly and Jay smiled unpleasantly.
"You leave him to me, you understand? He is my responsibility," Jay said firmly.
"My mother is dead because he made her run all the way to Sokovia," Wanda said hotly.
"I agree," Jay said, surprising her. "Lorna would never have been there if it weren't for him. But I'm the one who ran first. Lorna would never have run if I had faced my fears and faced him. No more running. It's time for me to face my father. You don't worry about him, Wanda. I will deal with him when the time comes."
Uncle and niece stared at each other for several long moments, Jay's eyes never leaving Wanda. Finally, she nodded and Jay smiled.
"Good. When all this is over, I'd like for to meet my wife. I know I can't just expect to jump in and play happy family, but I'd like to get to know you. If that's what you want," Jay told her.
"It is. I'd like to get to know you too," Wanda said, surprised to find she meant it.
"Great. You may have inherited the world's most evil grandfather, but you have me and my wife too," Jay told her, walking over and placing a hand on her shoulder.
Wanda nodded, surprised at the warm feeling that spread through. It was a feeling she hadn't had since her parents died, a feeling that only came with Clint and Kurt, although nowhere near this extent. The feeling of belonging somewhere.
It was like that that Barry walked in and found them, pausing as he took in the scene.
"Am I interrupting?"
"No, we were just about done I think," Jay said, looking at Wanda for clarification and, at her nod, turned to Barry. "Was there something you wanted?"
"I was wondering if I could talk to you, privately," Barry requested.
Jay nodded, having a good feeling he knew what this was about. Jay opened his mouth to speak but Wanda was already making her way out of the room, sensing this was something person. Barry waited until Wanda was out of the room before speaking.
"I need your help."
"Of course. What is it, Barry?" Jay asked.
"Thawne. He's so much faster than me," Barry said in frustration.
"You've had your powers for less than six months, don't be too hard on yourself," Jay told him soothingly.
"Doesn't matter how long I've had them, I know I'm going to face him again soon. I need your help to get faster. Please Jay…help me," Barry almost pleaded and Jay stared at him for a long moment before nodding.
"Okay. We'll start first thing tomorrow. But I won't go easy on you," Jay warned him.
"Oliver shot me in the back when he tried to train me. I can handle it," Barry promised and Jay stared at him for a moment before smiling.
"I hope so, Flash. Welcome to the big leagues."
Oscorp jet
Same time
"I'm sorry this trip turned out to be such a letdown, Peter, and that the internship fell through," Norman said, sounding genuine as the plane took off, he, Peter and Harry sitting down across from each other.
"It's fine, Mr. Osborn. I was actually wondering if the offer of a position in the New York branch was still open," Peter said, surprising father and son.
"It is, but I thought you didn't want to make things awkward with Gwen Stacy," Norman said perplexed.
"I did. But I've given it some thought since then. Gwen is mature enough to be professional. And a man has to take advantage of the opportunities that come his way," Peter said calmly, his gaze not moving from Norman.
"Well, in that case, welcome to Oscorp," Harry said with a smile.
Peter returned the smile, paying attention to Norman, who didn't seem to sense anything off.
He'd watch Norman. Because Norman would pay for what he'd done. One way or another.
Kind of filler outside the Firestorm stuff, but hope you all enjoyed it anyway.
The scene at the Fortress never gets old, but it's a bit more poignant now, given the passing of Julian Sands.
