Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good New Year's Eve. Consider this a present from me to all of you.
TW: Thank you. Merry late Christmas.
Watchtower
Mid afternoon
"That is a nasty looking bomb," Tony mentioned as he examined the schematics with Tess and Chloe.
"You're one of the leading experts in this kind of weaponry. Can you see of any way we might be able to disarm it?" Tess asked and Tony was silent for a long moment, putting a hand to his chin as he thought.
"Only way I can see is you would have to defuse the bombs at the same time. But you'd also need the trigger dismantled for that to work," Tony said after a moment of thought.
"That's not good odds," Ronnie noted from where he and Stein watched all this, several feet away from each other.
"Only one I know how to give. Hopefully, the others have stopped Prometheus by now," Tony said with a shrug.
"I wouldn't bet on that."
They all turned around as Oliver, Sara, Matt, Gambit, along with the X-Men and the JSA entered the room. It didn't take long for those who had been here to notice someone was missing.
"Where's Logan?" Tess asked and the group looked at each other awkward.
"We're not exactly sure. Gather up everyone else, and we'll compare notes. We obviously have a lot to talk about," Oliver said, eying Tony warily.
"So Jimmy just…took off with our daughter?" Dinah asked incredulously later once everyone was in the room, the two groups having caught each other up to speed.
"I saw him jump out a window, Bobbi on his back. Then they ran," Oliver explained.
"Logan would never abandon his friends, not without a good reason," Charles noted and Oliver nodded.
"I agree. Something must have happened. Although what, I'm not sure," Oliver said and it was silent.
"You've clearly had an interesting day," Natasha noted.
"You really want to talk about interesting?" Sara asked with a look at Tony, Vision and Rhodey.
"We're all on the same side here," Steve tried to reason.
"For today. And once we beat Darkseid? How long will it take him to sell this location to Ross?" Carter asked with a cold stare at Tony, who shifted uncomfortably.
"I made some mistakes, but I won't sell you to Ross," Tony denied.
"Why not? You already let him lock up your teammates in that underwater Alcatraz, denying basic human and civil rights," Matt said calmly but coolly.
"Perhaps our judgement was flawed, but Mr. Stark was right about one thing: if we had not complied, it was going to be done to us," Vision noted.
"And so it's easier to go along with it, to sit down, learn to compromise, learn every day how to accept the world the way it is. Heroes don't accept the world the way it is. They fight it," Carter said firmly and they all looked at him. "You played right into Darkseid's hands. You learned how to compromise with people like Ross; you give away your soul a little bit more each day. Just like he planned. The war started the moment Ross came into your Compound to make you sign The Accords. You three chose the wrong side and refused to see that. Well, I'm spelling out for you. The war is here, and you three have been playing for the bad guys since day one."
The room was silent as they processed Carter's words. Vision looked like he was considering Carter's words while Tony and Rhodey looked pained but that they were accepting a truth that they had always known but hadn't wanted to admit.
The silence was pierced by the ringing of a cell phone. Sara dug it out of her pocket and jumped up.
"It's Logan," Sara said excitedly before answer. "Where are you? What happened?"
"Put me on speaker," Logan ordered and Sara did so, sensing by his tone this was serious. "Prometheus has a telepath."
"We know. He used it to unlock Sabretooth's memories and fix Icicle," Barry pointed out.
"That's not all he did though. He put something in Bobbi's head, some kind of post hypnotic suggestion," Logan explained, stunning them all. "I'm not sure what it is, but it was set to go off the moment she saw Oliver."
"Which is why she had you get her out of there," Oliver said, all the pieces clicking into place.
"Yeah. Listen, Charles, do you think you can get whatever they put in her out of Bobbi's head?" Logan asked.
"I can, yes. How long it will take depends on how powerful and skilled the telepath is," Charles noted.
"I can you there in a flash," Jay said, smiling slightly at his own joke. "I just need to know where you two are."
"Home."
Logan hung up the phone after, everyone but Dinah looking confused.
"Home? Where is that?" Rogue asked in confusion.
"Our home," Dinah said and they all turned to her. "Our house, where we lived before Stryker kidnapped me and Bobbi, forced Logan to work for him."
Metropolis
Same time
After hanging up, Logan turned around to face Bobbi. She was silent, looking at a picture on the wall. The same picture Carter had given him, Logan realized as he walked up beside her.
"You ever been back here?" Logan asked and Bobbi shook her head.
"No. Mom never wanted to take the chance, not with Stryker still out there. And we had no idea what happened to you until a few years ago," Bobbi explained and a beat passed before she looked over at him. "What do you….remember?"
"Carter handed me a picture and everything with you came back. Since then, bits and pieces have been coming back," Logan said, looking at her and trying to find a piece of that little girl he remembered. "Bobbi…Laura…I'm sorry."
"For what?" Bobbi asked confused.
"For not being there. For not being able to protect you or your mother," Logan said in shame and she smiled sadly.
"Dad, it wasn't your fault. I knew you would have been there if you could have," Bobbi said, smiling sadly as she took his hand. "We won't get the time we lost back, but we have a lot of years left."
"Sounds like something Charles would say. Clearly, you got that from your mother," Logan said, only half joking.
Bobbi smiled slightly at this before wrapping her arms around him and pulling him into a hug. Logan stiffened slightly on instinct before relaxing, wrapping his arms around his daughter for the first time in over twenty years.
They weren't sure how long they stood there before they heard the door open. Logan released Bobbi, moving out of the room cautiously before relaxing as he saw Charles wheel in, Jay and Dinah on either side of him. Upon seeing Bobbi over Logan's shoulder, Dinah's eyes lit up.
"Bobbi!"
"Mom," Bobbi said in relief before her mother raced over and the two wrapped their arounds around each other. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
"I'm fine, I'm a big girl and I know how to handle myself. Thank God you're okay," Dinah said in relief as she pulled back, looking at her daughter carefully for any signs of physical damage.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Bobbi," Charles said as the two turned to him. "My name is Charles Xavier. I'm a friend of your father's, and I believe I can help you."
At the same moment, Kane was holding a meeting with his team, all of them sitting save Kane, who loomed over them menacingly.
"You said they wouldn't be able to track us, that you could make sure they couldn't trace the signal," Kane said, glowering at a man with greying dark hair.
"And most hackers wouldn't be able too. Mr. Queen must have someone very good on his roster of allies," Noah Kuttler explained.
"You said you were the best. One thing I don't like… is being deceived," Kane sneered as he pulled out a pistol and took aim at Noah.
Noah didn't even have time to react as Kane pulled the trigger. Blood splattered on the table and the room was silent as each of them tried to process what had just happened.
"You sure that was the right call, Boss?" Snart asked warily, as though afraid he was next.
"I don't appreciate being lied too, Snart. He claimed he was the best, but Oliver's team was able to outmaneuver him easily. Let this be a lesson to the rest of you: none of you are irreplaceable. If you cross me, there's not a thing you can do to stop me from killing you," Kane sneered.
"That right? And what's to stop us from leaving right now?" Sabretooth asked as he got to his feet and Kane smirked.
"Nothing. But if you leave, you won't get your revenge on Logan. The Flash. The Justice Society. The Blur. You know where the door is," Kane said smugly before walking out of the room.
At the house, Charles was sitting in front of Bobbi, his hands around her temple as he used his powers to probe her mind.
Finally, he found what he was looking for.
Charles watched as he saw Bobbi suspected above the air by chains, a blond woman holding her face as Bobbi groaned in pain at the mental intrusion.
"There. Now, the moment you see Oliver Queen, you will kill him, won't you," the woman said smugly as she lowered her hands.
"No," Bobbi said immediately but the woman smirked.
"But you will. You won't even remember that you will, or this conversation," the woman said before waving her hand.
"Esme Frost," Charles said as he lowered his hands from Bobbi. "She's the telepath working with Kane."
"Frost, why does that name sound familiar?" Jay wondered and Charles smiled tightly.
"Emma Frost. She worked for your father for a time. Esme is her granddaughter. And it appears she's inherited her grandmother's tendency to follow men with questionable goals," Charles said with a sigh.
"Lorna mentioned her. Apparently she and father parted ways over his desire to rule over all of us. Emma wasn't a saint, but she had no desire to live under a dictator," Jay mused.
"Let us hope Esme shares that trait with Emma as well," Charles said with a frown.
"Can you get whatever Esme did to Bobbi out of her head or not?" Logan asked, trying not to sound annoyed at the change of subject.
"I can, but it will take time. Have patience, Logan," Charles said and Logan scoffed.
"Well, patience is my strong suit," Logan said dryly.
Charles smiled at him before putting his hands back on Bobbi's temple, getting to work on removing what Esme had placed.

Not long after
Barry was standing far away from everyone else after the meeting, deep in thought when someone walked up beside him.
"Hey," Barry looked over to see Sara looking at him in concern. "You okay?"
"Not really. Just a lot on my mind," Barry said and she smiled tightly.
"Look around, Barry. We've all got something huge on our mind. Thinking about Thawne?" Sara asked.
"Jay doesn't think I can beat him one on one. And he's right. He's faster and more experienced than me," Barry said in frustration.
"Of course he is, he's been doing this a lot longer. You're only chance is to throw something at him he's not expecting," Sara told him and Barry laughed humorlessly.
"Yeah. Like what?"
Sara was silent for a moment before pulling something out of her jacket. Barry looked over and was surprised to see she was holding out a knife.
"Your only chance is stop fighting like a speedster, use a weapon. A gun will be useless, he's too fast. You won't have time to be trained with anything else. This is your best bet," Sara explained as Barry stared at the knife, as if mesmerized. "Barry?"
"Ever since the night my mom died, I always hated knives. They just…they reminded me of my mom's death," Barry said, still staring at the knife uncertainly.
"I get that Barry, but the knife is just a tool. It can't hurt anyone unless you decide to make it," Sara said and Barry stared at it for a moment before he reached out, taking it.
"Thank you," Barry said, still looking at it uncertainly.
"It's what we do. I am surprised Ollie hasn't done this for you already," Sara noted and Barry chuckled.
"He's too busy trying to convince me not to kill Thawne, says it'll change me," Barry noted and Sara smiled tightly.
"He's not wrong. But what Ollie doesn't realize is that this is a battle you'll have to face on your own," Sara told him and Barry smiled tightly.
"Thanks. For not telling me what to do," Barry said and Sara shrugged.
"One thing we all have in common, we have the abilities to choose our own paths. But Ollie was right, if you kill Thawne, it will change you, in ways you won't realize. I thought he was just trying to impress me when he told me that it would change me to take a life. Until I actually did it. Just be careful, Barry, that in trying to stop Thawne…you don't become the monster," Sara told him before walked off, leaving Barry alone, looking down at the knife uncertainly.
In the kitchen, Toy was sitting down, staring into space when someone sat down across from him. Tony looked up to see it was Steve.
"You've been quiet, Tony. You okay?" Steve asked and Tony sighed, running a hand over his face.
"Not really. Thinking a lot about what Hawk boy said. He's not wrong," Tony said as he ran a hand over his chin. "You and Sam tried to warn us about The Accords, so did Romanoff. But I wouldn't listen."
"Plenty of blame to go around, Tony. We can't get stuck on what happened in the past. We have to focus on the here and now," Steve said and it was silent for a moment before Tony nodded.
"You're right. I was too focused on Ultron, I ignored everything else. So, we need to move forward. In the spirit of that, we need to address the elephant in the room," Tony said, looking at Steve, who nodded, knowing what was coming. "How long did you know about Barnes and my parents?"
"I wouldn't say I knew exactly. I knew it was a possibility. During the Uprising, Nat and I were confronted by an AI that was the remains of a Hydra scientist," Steve started.
"Zola," Tony said, remembering hearing the story and Steve nodded.
"Hydra had launched a missile at us, so Zola was trying to stall for time. While doing so, he implied that Hydra might have had a hand in Howard's death. I couldn't know for sure whether there was any true to that or it was just a mind game to keep us there. And on some level, I didn't want to know," Steve admitted. "Like I told you, I thought I was sparing you but I was really sparing myself. I'm sorry, Tony."
"Can't say I agree with what you did…but I get it. I probably wouldn't have believed him either. So where do we go from here?" Tony asked and Steve smiled tightly.
"That's up to you. You need to decide what you want to do from here on out. Right now, we need to focus on stopping Darkseid and Prometheus. After that…it's up to you," Steve told him.
Tony didn't respond, knowing Steve was right. The time was for him to stop making excuses and be the bigger person.
Chloe was at the computer, typing away when Barry walked up behind her.
"Hey. You busy?" Barry asked.
"Just trying to find anything I can on Darkseid," Chloe said without turning around.
"Any progress there?" Barry inquired and she grimaced.
"Some, but I have a feeling it's not the kind that Clark is gonna like," Chloe said and a beat passed. "What is it, Barry?"
"With everyone going on, we haven't had a chance to talk…about that kiss," Barry said awkwardly and Chloe blushed.
"I just…I've always liked you, ever since camp. I thought I was over it…until I saw you again, got to spend time with you. I had a momentary freak out about never having what Clark and Lois have. We don't need to talk about it, we can just forget it," Chloe tried to dismiss it, even as her heart sank at her own words.
"What if I don't want to forget it?" Barry asked and she looked at him startled. "Chloe…when you walked into my lab, you took everything I thought I knew and turned it on its head. And even knowing what I know now…I'd still agree to come with you. And not just because of Darkseid or Thawne or anything else going on here. Because of you. I don't know what's going on between us…but I'd like a chance to figure out what it is."
Chloe stared at Barry, her heart racing and she briefly wondered if Barry could tell. But before she could even begin to formulate a response, Tess walked in, holding a tablet.
"Chloe – oh. Am I interrupting?" Tess asked, sensing something was going on here.
"No," Barry and Chloe said in sync, locking eyes and seeming to have an entire conversation.
Wherever this conversation would lead, it would have to wait until they were alone.
"What is it?" Chloe asked, looking over at Tess, who eyed them for a moment before walking over to Chloe.
"That thing we were looking into with Professor Stein and Ronnie? I think I was right," Tess said, handing Chloe the tablet. "Their brainwave patterns are perfectly in sync."
"That's impossible, Barry said in shock as Chloe examined the reading off the tablet.
"I think the Professor and Ronni's entire situation threw 'impossible' out the window. They run the same temperature, and their brainwaves are in sync. That can't be a coincidence," Chloe noted and Tess nodded as she was handed the tablet back.
"They're not as separated as they think. It might only be a matter of time before they remerge," Tess said.
"So what do we do, how do we stop it?" Barry asked in alarm.
"I'm not sure we can," Tess said apologetically.
It was at that moment that Chloe found herself restrained, an arm wrapped around her neck, preventing her from moving. Tess jumped back as Barry stared, horrified at the sight of Thawne looming over Chloe.
"Catch me if you can, Flash," Thawne said mockingly before speeding out with Chloe.
Barry immediately ran after them as Tess dropped her tablet, racing over to the computer, running Barry, Chloe and Thawne's faces through facial recognition all across the city.
"Everyone, we've got a problem!" Tess said over the intercom before pulling out a cell phone, dialing a number.
On an abandoned street, Thawne stopped, restraining Chloe in front of him. Seconds later, Barry sped over, standing a few feet across from him.
"Let her go, Thawne!" Barry shouted and Thawne laughed coldly before, to the shock of Barry and Chloe, tossing Chloe aside and she landed on her back.
"Gladly. I have no interest in your friend. She was merely the bait, to draw you here," Thawne said a smug smirk on his face. "It's time we talked, Barry."
"I have nothing to say to you. You ruined my life. And not just mine. My dad, Cisco, Caitlin, Ronnie, how many others!?" Barry snarled and Thawne chuckled, enraging Barry further.
"I know, you see me as the villain. But if you were to look back, look back carefully at everything I've done, every wheel I've set in motion…you will see that I've only ever done what I've had to. Nothing more, nothing less," Thawne said and Barry scoffed in disgust.
"No, you're a psychopath. And I will stop you," Barry said angrily and Thawne laughed.
"How? I've shown you more than once that you cannot beat me," Thawne pointed out.
As if in answer, a puff smoke appeared by Barry, revealing Kurt and Oliver. Barry smiled as Oliver stepped up beside him, Kurt on his side.
"Wow, you brought yourself a friend. Welcome, Mr. Queen," Thawne greeted and Oliver's only response was to clutch his bow as he glared at Thawne. "And the infamous Nightcrawler. This is gonna be fun."
They then heard someone jump down from the roof and the all looked down to see Gambit had jumped down on Barry's other side.
"Hope you didn't start without Gambit," Gambit said with a smirk as Wanda lowered herself to the ground, on Gambit's side.
"And even more friends. Remy LeBeau and Wanda Maximoff. You do seem to have gotten yourself quite the diverse roster of powerful friends since you left Central City," Thawne noted.
"I hope we're not too late," Wanda said with a glance at Barry.
"You're right on time," Barry assured her, his gaze never moving from Thawne. "I don't care how fast you are, you can't fight all five of us at the same time."
"Oh I can't?" Thawne asked with a smirk. "Trust me, this is gonna be fun."
Thawne raised his hand, clenched it into a fist and they all noticed his hand had a ring with a lightning bolt emblem on it. Kurt got into a fighting stance while Oliver notched an arrow, taking aim at Thawne. At super speed, Barry changed into his Flash suit, his eyes flashing with lightning. Gambit pulled out a playing card as Wanda's eyes glowed with red energy.
Thawne's ring opened and his Reverse Flash suit flew out. At super speed, Thawne changed into it before he and Barry rushed each other. The two fought at super speed, appearing only as two red and yellow blurs to the others.
"Move Barry!" Oliver shouted, unable to get a shot off. "Barry, move!"
Thawne pinned Barry got against a nearby wall and Oliver and Gambit struck. Oliver fired while Gambit threw his card, which was charged with energy. Thawne threw Barry through a window of a nearby shop before he was hit in the leg with Oliver's arrow and the card landed at his feet. Thawne realized his speed was gone a split second before the card exploded, sending him flying back.
"What'd you hit him with?" Wanda asked Oliver.
"Nanites developed by ARGUS. They move at a high frequency pulse that disables a speedster's speed," Oliver explained as they all approached the downed Thawne.
"Is that so?" Thawne asked gruffly as he pulled himself to his feet.
Thawne then vibrated his entire body before something metallic emerged from his body. The nanites.
Thawne then rotated his arms at super speed, creating a vortex that sent Oliver flying. Kurt quickly teleported into the air, catching Oliver before they teleported to safety. Gambit used his staff to slow himself but he hit the back of a care before he went flying, landing on the ground painfully. Nearby; Chloe clung to a nearby bench.
Wanda was the only one who stood firm, raising her arms and using her powers to force Thawne to stop. He was then forced to stay still.
"I can't hold him for long!" Wanda called out.
As if summoned by her words, Barry sped in; delivering a series of punches at high speed that Thawne was helpless to stop. Barry then grabbed Thawne, running up the side of a building, before jumping, spinning in the air at super speed as they flew to the ground.
But, at the last second, Wanda's hold on Thawne broke and he punched Barry. Barry released him and they landed the ground harmlessly.
"You really do mean to kill me, Barry. A blow like that would have certainly done me in with Wanda holding me in place. You're finally starting to act like the man I know," Thawne said with a smirk and Barry paused.
"At Christmas, you told me we'd been fighting for centuries," Barry remembered.
"Indeed we do. We still are. We're enemies, rivals. I came from a time far in the future. Compared to my time, you're all primitive barbarians. And you're going to help me get home, one way or another," Thawne egged him on.
"I doubt that," Barry sneered.
Barry then sped off, with Thawne following behind him. They raced upon a few rooftops before Barry stopped As Thawne continued to race after him, Kurt teleported behind him, carrying Wanda. She shot two blasted of red energy at Thawne, who seemed to hear it, avoiding it at super speed. Barry just barely voided the blasts before Thawne tackled him. The two struggled in midair, trading a few blows before parting, landing on separate sides of the street.
Thawne then hunched over, pain shooting through him. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Chloe aiming a Taser at him.
Glowering in rage, Thawne vibrated his body before moving to strike Chloe. Barry moved to intercept but someone else got there first.
Clark sped in front of Chloe and Thawne paled as he saw the rage filled look on the Kryptonian's face. Clark then delivered a punch to Thawne's face, sending him flying through the side of a building.
"Clark," Chloe exclaimed as her best friend turned around to face her. "What are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you."
"Tess called, she thought you guys could use some help. Are you alright, did he hurt you?" Clark asked in concern.
"I'm fine, aside from my life flashing before my eyes. But what about him?" Chloe asked as three pairs of eyes turned, seeing Thawne pull himself to his feet and almost limp towards them.
"Kal-El. There are history books about you. Along with Steve Rogers, Oliver Queen, Spider-Man, you're considered to be one of the greatest heroes in all of history. But just as your exploits are well known, so are your weaknesses!"
At super speed, Thawne rushed over, opening a box with a glowing green rock. Clark staggered backwards before falling down. Thawne dropped the Kryptonite before sending a powerful punch to Chloe's stomach, sending her flying into a tree.
"Now, there's no one left to interfere!" Thawne snarled as he rushed forward, delivering a series of punches so fast Barry couldn't ever react, pinning the Scarlett Speedster to a wall. "You will help me get home, Barry! Even if I have to take away everything you love to make you do it!"
Thawne suddenly stopped, letting out a pained gasp. He looked down, seeing a knife embedded in his side. Chloe pulled herself to her feet as Oliver, Gambit, Kurt and Wanda arrived on the scene, all staring and taking it in.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Barry said coldly, digging the knife in deeper and Thawne let out a pained grunt before Barry yanked the knife out. "Speedster or not, a human body can only lose so much blood."
"Not bad, Flash," Thawne grunted, stumbled back as he put a hand over his wounded in an attempt to stop the bleeding. "You're well on your way to becoming the man who stopped me the night I killed your mother."
Barry almost started as Thawne fell to his knees, gasping in pain. Then the temperate seemed to drop, the air growing coldly as smoke rose of out of the ground in front of Thawne. The smoke then formed a dark figure whose skinned seemed to be made of stone with glowing red eyes.
"Darkseid," Clark groaned from the ground as they stared.
"You know why I have come, Eobard Thawne," Darkseid said as he stared down at Thawne and Thawne chuckled.
"Yes, yes I know. The history books are well versed on you."
"Then what is your answer?" Darkseid asked patiently and Thawne glared at Barry once more before looking up at Darkseid.
"Just make him suffer."
"With pleasure," Darkseid said, a dark smile crossing his face. "And in exchange, your soul now belongs to me."
Darkseid then turned to black smoke, which then surrounded Thawne. They heard a pained yell as they watched, transfixed. Finally, it stopped and there was only Thawne on his knees. He got to his feet and looked around. But his entire demeanor was different, he was now entirely silent. But, as he looked at them, they knew he was no longer Eobard Thawne.
"Darkseid," Oliver muttered and Darkseid smirked.
"Oliver Queen. Prophecy says you will play a pivotal role in my defeat. But that's only if you survive what comes next. And I shall ensure you do not."
With one last smirk, Darkseid then sped off, leaving them all behind. For a long moment, it was silent until Gambit smoke.
"Well, Gambit thinks we fucked."
Well, things have gone from bad to worse.
Esme would be played by Sydney Sweeney. Thank you to Aragorn II Elessar for the suggestion.
Noah was pretty just there so Kane could have a hacker on the team before being crossed off. I'd say sorry to fans of Noah, but does he have any fans?
And yes, Darkseid now has control of Thawne's body. We're in the Endgame now.
