I have a flashback of sorts in this one-shot! Obviously, it is the part that is in the italics.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "I'm no detective, of course, but I think this dead body might not be alive anymore."

Jacoba really was attempting to hold in her laughter. She was currently leaning against a wall, watching as Barney and Church stood not that far away, both laying into the group of men in front of them. These men were a part of Church's bunch; a hand-picked group who were (supposedly) the best of the best. Yet they had made a basic rookie mistake on this mission. And the mission wasn't even half over yet.

When they'd all been briefed before the mission had started, Barney and Church had made one thing excruciatingly clear; during the first part of the mission, there were to be absolutely no casualties. Jacoba (as the sniper) had watched, however, as the idiots (as she had taken to calling Church's men) had burst into the warehouse and began to open fire on the target's men. She was attempting to keep the smirk off of her face as she recalled the conversation that she'd had with Barney and Church over comms when it happened.

Jacoba shook her head at what she was seeing through her sniper scope. "Bossman."

"Go ahead, Amazon."

"We have a bit of a problem."

She heard Barney sigh heavily. "What's wrong?"

Now it was her turn to sigh. "Church's team just breached the warehouse."

Church suddenly growled back. "They were supposed to."

Jacoba scoffed. "I know that, Agent Smart. And I'm also no detective, of course, but I'm fairly certain that all of the dead bodies that they're leaving behind may not be alive anymore."

The growling over the comms intensified (as well as the muffled chuckles that she recognized as coming from the Expendables) before she heard Barney sigh once more. "Thanks for the intel, Amazon. We'll contact you when it's time to regroup."

"Ten-four."

"Amazon."

Jacoba snapped back from her memory to see both Church and Barney were now looking at her. "What's up?"

"It's time to move to the next position."

She smirked openly and nodded before she began to walk away. As she readjusted her sniper rifle on her back, Jacoba shared a look with Gunnar. Those idiots had definitely signed their walking papers today.
