"Yeah, she's got eyes of the night"

"Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses

DAVID SAT ON his wheelchair throne, while Dwayne was engrossed in a book, waiting for Paul, Marko, and Sevyn to emerge from the pool. They weren't exactly subtle about what they were up to. If he knew his brothers, that was the point.

As much as he would have loved to have joined them, it wasn't the right time. He didn't want to get too attached to Sevyn until he was sure she was trustworthy and here to stay. No sense getting attached to a mortal.

About twenty minutes later, the trio emerged, his brothers grinning like idiots and Sevyn blushing, a matching grin on her face. They looked like they were very satisfied.

Sevyn was gathering her things when David noticed a glint of red dangling from her ear. He couldn't help but smirk. He knew better than to say anything, though. Instead, he settled into his usual cold demeanor.

"Have a good time?" he taunted, standing up from his wheelchair.

"Well, I did, that's for sure. And judging by the noises those two clowns were making, I'd say they did too," Sevyn chirped, refusing to let David dampen her mood. She'd just had some amazing sex, and she was feeling good.

She glanced over her shoulder at the two blondes, still buzzing from their encounter as they prepared for the night, occasionally diving at the other over something they said. A sense of pride washed over her. She'd pleased them, and it felt empowering.

Today, she'd thrown on a camisole and a short denim skirt. Before they left, she'd grabbed a flannel shirt she found draped over a chair, smelling of sea salt and thunderstorms. It had to be Paul's. She wiggled her fingers at the boys after putting it on, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Of course, Paul noticed. He nudged Marko and grinned. "I think she likes me," he swooned, admiring her in his clothes. A wave of possessiveness washed over him.

Marko almost pouted. Next time, he'd leave something out for her to wear. He wanted to see her covered in his scent. She'd mentioned wanting his jacket, and he'd gladly lend it to her for a night. The sight of her drowning in his clothes would be worth it.

Dwayne finally looked up from his book when he felt Sevyn sit beside him. He smirked, pleased to see her embracing their pack, wearing their symbol and even some of their clothes. He closed the book to show her the title.

"Harry Potter? You stole this from my place," she observed.

"I did. You talked about them so much; I figured I'd give them a shot. Though, this seems a bit young for me," Dwayne rumbled, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, stick with them. They get darker as they go," Sevyn said placatingly.

"Ready to go?" David asked impatiently. He wanted to stretch his legs and grab a bite to eat before his race with that Michael kid.

Sevyn rolled her eyes playfully and stood up, stretching her arms. She was ready to get out of there and go for a ride with her favorite vampires. It was always an exhilarating experience.

As soon as she stood, Paul sidled up to her and draped an arm around her shoulders. "Looking good, babe," he purred in her ear, sending shivers down her spine.

"Thanks, sunshine, you look pretty hot yourself," Sevyn teased, her fingers playfully tracing patterns on Paul's back before dipping down and sliding into his back pocket. The grin that spread across his face told her he enjoyed her touch as much as she enjoyed touching him.

A sense of pride swelled within Paul as he led Sevyn out of the cave towards his bike. He loved the thrill of the pink-haired girl riding with him, the wind whipping through their hair, and the way Sevyn clung to him. It was a primal feeling, a rush of adrenaline that was both exhilarating and intoxicating.

Star perched on David's bike, while Laddie rode with Dwayne. A pang of jealousy shot through Sevyn. David hadn't asked her to ride with him yet, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was intentional. Perhaps he enjoyed teasing her with his knowing smirk that she always followed up with a sarcastic smile.

The ride to the boardwalk was quick, Sevyn barely even realized that the time had passed before they were stopping. She was so absorbed in what that night was going to look like, what part she played in everything that was to come.

Dwayne sauntered over to Sevyn and scooped her up effortlessly. His gaze held hers as he slowly lowered her down his body, sending shivers down her spine. The smirk on his face was both playful and possessive.

The rest of the night was a blur of boardwalk loitering. At one point the boys broke off to catch an early meal while Sevyn prowled down the boards with Laddie, slipping her hands into pockets while everyone was distracted. After a while, they had made their way back to the bikes where the boys were perched, absorbed in their little family.

Sevyn watched on for a moment, smiling to herself, before approaching. Once she was close, she handed off Laddie to Dwayne before tackling Marko and pressing a big kiss to his cheek. She was eager for the night to unfold, for the race to begin.

From a distance, David spotted Star and Michael heading towards Michael's bike. "Where are you going, Star?" he drawled, his voice laced with a hint of menace.

"For a ride. This is Michael," she replied submissively, avoiding his gaze.

Michael tried to gently coax her onto his bike, but David intervened. A smug smirk played on David's lips as Star reluctantly climbed onto his bike instead.

Sevyn rolled her eyes, amused by Paul's hyena-like laughter. She playfully pinched his side, making him squawk indignantly before he retaliated.

She tried to focus on the escalating tension between Michael and David, but the thrill of the upcoming race was too much to ignore. Adrenaline surged through her veins as she playfully toyed with Paul, her touch both teasing and intimate. Meanwhile, Marko watched in mischievous amusement, randomly jumping in to give Paul a shove a few times.

When it was time to go, Marko gave Paul's shoulder a firm pat and threw a look back at Sevyn, winking at her. The engines roared to life. David took the lead, followed by Paul, Marko, and Dwayne. Michael trailed behind, a look of apprehension on his face.

Sevyn tuned out the drama, lost in the thrill of the ride. The wind whipped through her hair as they dodged bonfires, rode under the boardwalk, and raced through the woods. The roar of the engines, the wind, and the camaraderie of the group filled her with a sense of exhilaration.

David continued to taunt Michael, his laughter echoing through the night. Michael, desperate to prove himself, pushed his bike to its limits. As they neared the edge of the bluff, Michael lost control after braking suddenly and skidded to a halt. David, ever the provocateur, watched on with amusement, having stopped at the edge of the bluff while remaining upright.

Michael glanced over the edge, realizing how close he got to death. He looked over to see David was fine and suddenly stormed towards him, landing a punch to his jaw. Anger and adrenaline fueled his every move.

Sevyn rolled her eyes at the unfolding spectacle. The others jumped off their bikes to intervene, but Michael brushed them aside. David saw Sevyn behind the chaos silently mimicking Michael, mouthing along and gesturing when he did. The enjoyment Sevyn got from taunting Michael was refreshing compared to Star's attempts to ruin their initiation – their fun, as per usual.

David, the picture of amusement and challenge, faced the older Emerson brother.

"How far are you willing to go, Michael?"
