There is only one answer that Erza Knightwalker would take from her counterpart.
"You don't know!?" Erza Knightwalker all but roared.
Knightwalker slammed her spear down with vengeance. Erza tried blocking the attack but Knightwalker had gotten her second wind at this point. The tables had now flipped against Scarlet. The spear made contact with Erza's shoulder and it sent the woman crashing into the ground. Knightwalker made Erza cave the ground inwards due to the force behind her swing. Knightwalker having hit Erza did not have her anger leave her. It remained the same. Scarlet looked up to see Knightwalker coming for her and she rolled to the side to avoid a stomp. Scarlet got to her feet before dodging a slash meant for her.
"He loves you and you have had time to think it over! What the hell!? You bitch!"
Scarlet saw the rage in Knightwalker's eyes. Knightwalker advanced on towards her.
"Even after everything I told you! After everything he told you! After everything you told me! You have the confidence to say I don't know!"
Scarlet dodged another blow that took some of her hair off of her. Knightwalker was high on adrenaline, Scarlet needed to stay in the game until it died down.
"Edolas Natsu died because of me! Have you not piece together anything!?" Knightwalker yelled.
Erza knew very well what Knightwalker was trying to tell her. She pushed back with resolve as this fight seemed to evolve in something much more personal for the both of them.
"I have the possibility to screw up my relationship with Natsu by waiting too long!" Scarlet yelled at Knightwalker.
Knightwalker snorted and slammed the pommel of her spear onto Erza's gut that sent Scarlet flying away. Knightwalker capitalized by lunging after Scarlet. Knightwalker punched Scarlet in the face that sent Scarlet into the ground. Knightwalker mounted Scarlet as she tossed her spear to the side. Scarlet put up a guard as Knightwalker began to punch at Scarlet's face.
"Yet! You! Gleefully! Do! Nothing!" Knightwalker shouted down at Scarlet.
The first few punches were blocked but once Knightwalker broke through the guard. The blows began to land as frustration etched Knightwalker's features.
"If you won't take him than I'll just take him for myself! I won't let the same thing happen to Natsu again!" Knightwalker yelled.
Scarlet braced for the next punch but at this point, Knightwalker was spent and the next punch lacked any power. Knightwalker settled for grabbing Erza by the collar of her armor and hoisting her up. Scarlet saw rage, sadness, and guilt in Knightwalker's eyes.
"If you can't love him, I'll get something I never had a chance to ever get again. I won't be like you, I'll be assertive and I'll take what I want and I'll protect him! I won't fail him again!"
Scarlet knew it too. For the first time in her life, she felt like she could lose Natsu to someone else. A thought that haunted her more than it should. Scarlet eyes widen as a sudden realization occurred for her. Knightwalker saw the eureka moment and she grew a bitter smile.
"I won't go down without a fight." Knightwalker spoke.
Scarlet found herself being headbutt by Knightwalker, she finally got Knightwalker off of her and both scrambled to their feet. Knightwalker move first with Erza reacting to the attack. Erza side stepped the punch before trying to counter with a kick but Knightwalker did a black flip to avoid the attack. She landed on her hands. Erza couldn't dodge as she opted to block the leg trying to kick her in the face. If she had more energy, she would have picked Knightwalker up and slam her into the ground. However, Scarlet took too long to gather her strength and Knightwalker got away with ease. Knightwalker and Scarlet glared at one another from where they stood. Scarlet had something to fight for, had someone she wanted to be with and she would not let Knightwalker have him. Knightwalker had a second chance, the ability to atone, and to rebuild the life she ruined. She knew Scarlet would still struggle even when she just found out about her emotions. Knightwalker would not let Scarlet have him. All thoughts of the current state of the world now seemed even more trivial between the two females.
"Scarlet!"
"Knightwalker!"
Both had slammed their fists into the other's cheek as they meet in the middle of the battlefield. The first to act would win this fight. Knightwalker would act unlike Scarlet. Knightwalker grabbed a hold of Erza's shoulders and slam her knee into the other female's gut. Scarlet felt her vision fade and because of her lapse in concentration. Knightwalker punched Scarlet again. This time Scarlet went down and stayed down while Knightwalker stepped down on Scarlet's stomach.
"I have won Scarlet." Knightwalker all but proudly declared.
Scarlet's pride took a huge hit at realizing she had nothing left to continue the fight. She hit her limit. Knightwalker digged her foot into Scarlet's gut while leaning down to stare Scarlet down.
"Be grateful, I'll take care of Natsu and he'll finally realize who is the better Erza for him." Knightwalker stated.
"Says the one who killed the Edolas Natsu."
Knightwalker began laughing, laughing at that line.
"What's so funny, fiend!?" Scarlet yelled.
Knightwalker stopped laughing.
"You know what? Me and Edolas Natsu were lovers. For years we were a thing. How could that be? I realized a lot sooner than you ever did! It begs the question as to why I would kill my lover? I kept taking his assurances at face value despite the bullying getting worse from Fairy Tail. Oh? The Edolas Fairy Tail didn't tell you that? They left that part out? They bullied him, mocked him because he wasn't physically strong, was too nice for his own good. Day in and day out, they treated him like trash."
Scarlet's eyes went from anger to shock. Truly, this couldn't be true! She must have been lying. Knightwalker rummage in her back pouch before pulling out a piece of paper and shoving the contents in front of Erza's face. Scarlet read the letter in its entirety, she saw that the person who signed it was Edolas Natsu.
"It's because of me that he died, if only I had protected him more. If only I had pushed more but he loved me so much that he didn't want to be a burden. He wanted to be the man I deserved. If I could have alleviated some of that pressure, he would still be here. Natsu died because of me."
Knightwalker had pinned Natsu's death on herself. A blame game that she had readily accepted despite other circumstances clearly present. Erza felt light surround her entire body and Knightwalker would find herself unable to keep Scarlet pinned to the ground. She stepped off of the other woman. Scarlet began to float and Knightwalker grew a sour look, she had won fair and square. Knightwalker crossed her arms. Why did life have to take things away from her? She turned her back while Scarlet continued flying into the air. The pair both knew what was currently happening.
"It looks like Anima is taking out all of the magic out of this world including the people that don't belong here."
It became silent after Knightwalker's statement.
"Promise me Scarlet that no matter what, you'll take care of Natsu. I demand that much from you." Knightwalker spoke.
Scarlet didn't hesitate.
"I promise." Scarlet spoke.
"Don't fail to keep him safe, you don't want to go through what I had to go through." Knightwalker gave her a cryptic warning.
Scarlet wouldn't fail to keep him safe. She had a lot of reasons too. However, with her lose against Knightwalker. It was clear she needed to get stronger for Natsu. Scarlet undoubtedly got lucky that Knightwalker is staying behind because she was sure that if Knightwalker came with her. Natsu would be swinging to Knightwalker. The two got rather close, very quickly and even Knightwalker had fallen for him. As she saw alot of the Edolas Natsu in his Earthland counterpart. However, she knew what needed to be done. This fight had been the eye opener for her. It was time for her to act when she got back to Earthland.
