Chapter 2: The Unova Trainer.

Paul continues to gaze at the site of ocean. "To Kanto, huh?" He remembered Ash's pokemon including his former pokemon Infernape when was a Chimchar. "I wonder if it's still necessary to go there even though Oak might help me." Mostly what was on his mind was the run in's he had with Ash and his pokemon. "I know I admitted that Infernape has gotten stronger but is that enough..."

"Hey, there is a battle going on inside!"

Paul turned around seeing a crowd a people going inside. "What is going, a battle inside the ship?" He went inside and followed down deep inside the lower area of the ship. Shortly he came to a battle field that was big enough for pokemon battles like the pokemon league. "This was inside here!"

He saw a male trainer with spiky short brown hair and in front of him was a Golem. "Time for my Golem rock your world!"

His opponent was a dark brown haired girl wearing a hat that had a pink pokeball in the front. She also was wearing white tank shirt and wore a black waistcoat over it and had a pair of denim shorts with white tear details on them. She wore black wristbands with a small pink stripe on them matching black ankle boots, pink laces and soles, and pair of black socks underneath. Beside her feet was a pink messenger bag. "My name is Hilda." She took a pokeball into her palm."I choose my Dewott!" She threw a pokeball and a new kind of pokemon appeared.

This got Paul intrigued a bit. "What is that pokemon?" He took out his pokedex. "No data avaiable." He looked at the strang water pokemon. "This must be new species from a different region."

The other trainer was confused but interested. "Dewott, a new Pokemon and must be water type, disadvantage I am in, though I look forward to beaten it still!" Golem grinned. "Golem! Golem!" Seeing the fire in the rock pokemon was signaling that it was ready to brawl. "Golem use Rock Throw!" The rock tossed some rocks towards the water creature.

"Just stay there!" Paul's eyes widened at the command. "What is she up to?" The new pokemon just stood still taken the damage. "What is wrong, getting cold feet?" The girl just stayed calm. "You'll see..."

"Keep up the Rock Throw!" The other trainer commanded as his pokemon threw more rocks at the water pokemon. "Golem! Golem! The bipedal tortoise-like pokemon said.

As the new water pokemon took damage the crowd was getting a little bored. "Is she losing on purpose!"

"What is this new pokemon doing, it's become more of thing for target practice!"

"Revenge..." The girl commanded as a powerful orange energy wave at the rock pokemon which knocked it backwards with such strong force. "Golem no!"

"Time for the finale, go use Razor Shell!" Dewott took two shells and out came water that formed into a razor like blade. "Dewott!" The otter cut the large rock creature and was done for the count.

The referree raised his flag. "Golem is unable to battle, Dewott wins the victory is Hilda!"

The crowd cheered and while some were in awe. "That was so cool!"

"That battle ended fast!"

"That girl was having the advantage."

Hild was proud of herself. "Anyone else want to take me on?" Paul saw this opporunity. "I will!" The girl turned to see Paul. "Oh I seen you, you competed in the Sinnoh League." Paul didn't seem fazed. "That's right." He took out his pokeball.

Hilda smiled as she returned her Dewott. "I shall let Dewott rest, however while I do have other pokemon I left them with my mother, but I have two more pokemon so how about a Double battle?"

Paul could see this girl was full of herself. "Fine then, I shall these two pokemon of mine." Hild put her Dewott's pokeball in her messager bag and took out two pokeballs. "I choose Fraxure and Watchog!"

Paul's eyes widened. "Hmph..." He was more intrigued then before. "I see those Pokemon are new, tell me what region are you from?"

Hilda just smiled. "I'm from the Unova Region, as you probably guessed Dewott was my first Pokemon." Paul just stared back with a smirk. "Then I shall not lose." He took out two pokeballs. " Electivire and Torterra stand by for battle!"

"TORRRRTERRAA!" The grass land pokemon stomped it's feet and glared at the two pokemon.

"Electivire!" The Thunderbolt Pokemon stood tall and ready for battle.

Hilda was amazed. "Those are Sinnoh region pokemon huh?" She took out her pokedex and pointed at Torterra. "Torterra the continent Pokemon. Torterra is the final evolved of Turtwig. This pokemon sometimes allow smaller Pokemon to rest on it's small tree's on their back." She then pointed her pokedex at Electivire. "Electivire, the Thunderbolt Pokemon, and the evolved form of Electabuzz. When Electivire attacks, it pushes the tip of its two tails against its opponent."

Hilda put her pokedex back in her messager bag. "I see those two look powerful, but let's get this battle started!"

The referre spread out the two flags. "Let the battle begin!"

"Watchog use Work Up!" Watchog's entire body glowed red. "This move shall raise it's attack including special attacks!"

Paul wasn't too worried. "Is that so?"

"I ain't done, Fraxure use Dragon Dance!" Her dragon began to dance as it's body glowed shiny purple. "I just raised it's attack and speed now! Fraxure use Dragon Claw on Torterra!" The jaw pokemon charged towards the continent pokemon with glowing blue claws. "Torterra stand there!"

Hilda was confused but didn't think much of it as her dragon landed a hit on Torterra. "Tor!" The giant turtle like pokemon groaned.

"Is that boy trying to lose?"

"Grab it Electivire!" Electivire's tails wrapped around Fraxure in a tight embrace.

"Fraxure got caught!" Hilda exclaimed. "Argh, Watchog use Thunderbolt on Electivire!" Paul wasn't worried. "I thought so..."

The electric bolt struck Electivire but wasn't fazed as it's body was glowing with electrical surges appearing around it's body. "What?" Hilda exclaimed in confusion.

"It's my turn, Electivire throw Fraxure onto Watchog!" The Thunderbolt pokemon charged towards the large rodent pokemon and tossed it's partner onto it creating a dusty cloud.

Hild's pokemon were on the ground. "Watchog, Fraxure, both of you got to get up!" The two Pokemon struggled to get up. "Come on, I know you can do it!"

Those words remind Paul of Ash which made him smirk. "Sounds familar." The two Unova Pokemon got up. "Alright!" Hilda raised her arm up. "Watchog hit Torterra with Flamethrower!"

Paul's eyes widened in surprise. "That thing knows Flamethrower!?" The large rodent pokemon breathed out a flame breath attack which was directly headed towards the continent pokemon. "Electivire use Protect!" His electric powerhouse stood in front of its partner and shielded both of them.

"Fraxure use Dragon Pulse!" The dragon unleashed a shockwave from it's gaping mouth. The attack manage to somehow break through the shield which hit Electivire. "But how?!" Paul exclaimed.

"Now let's finish this, Watchog use Super Fang!" The large rodent beared its large buckteeth and charged towards the thunderbolt Pokemon.

Electivire wasn't going to lose that it used it's tails to grab Watchog. "Not again!" Hilda yelled. Paul was now smirking. "I wasn't going to let you take Electivire easily. Use Thunder!"

"ELECTIVIRE! The Thunderbolt Pokemon cried as it electrocuted the large rodent pokemon which made it cry it out in pain. "Watchog no!"

Electivire's electric attack stopped as it dropped Watchog as the referre saw the it was knocked out. "Watchog is unable to battle!"

"This is bad I'm at a disadvantage." Hilda groaned looking discouraged which Paul noticed. "Hey, I ain't going to win by a forfeit, is this the best you can do then?" He turned his head away. "Pathetic."

That struck a nerve which Paul noticed as Fraxure roared at the insult and it held it's head high shot out an orange meteor that busted into several meteors the came crashing down on the battle field.

Paul was surprised but had an idea. "Electivire use Thunder!" The thunderbolt pokemon put its two tails into the ground unleashing it's Thunder attack and creating a counter shield. "Ah!" Hilda gasped as well Fraxure.

The crowd was impressed and in awe.

"What was kind of Thunder move is that?!"

"Use an electric attack like that is unusual!"

"Yeah but it's cool!"

The draco meteors were destroyed by the electric counter shield. "Torterra use Stone Edge!" The continent pokemon eyes glowed and summoned out several stones that sent directly at the jaw pokemon that landed a serious hit. "FRAAX!" Fraxure cried in pain.

"Now Electivire use Brick Break!" The thunderbolt pokemon raised it's left hand and delivered a swift chop onto Fraxure's head and knocked down onto the ground.

"Fraxure!" Hilda exclaimed in shock. The jaw pokemon struggled to get up but fell on forward with dizzy eyes.

The referre raised the flag. "Fraxure is uable to battle. The winner of this battle is Paul!"

Hilda was fell her to knees in defeat as Paul took out his pokemon pokeballs. "Torterra, Electivire, both of you a job well done." The two pokemon nodded and the purple haired trainer walked towards the Unova Trainer. "It was a great battle."

Hilda looked up and smiled as she offer her hand. "Yeah it was." Paul hesitated at first but shook her hand. "I learned a lot from this battle so it was good." He began to walk away. "Wait, are you going to Kanto?"

Paul didn't turn around but stopped. "Yes, why?" Hilda smiled. "Well if that's the case I would like to travel with you!" That got the purpled haired trainer by surprise. "Why do you want do that?"

"Well you seem to be very good at raising Pokemon like your Torterra and Electivire, if I want to get stronger I think traveling with you will be a good idea. Plus I want to battle you again someday, so what-" She noticed he was already walked onward, ignoring the girl's reason. "Did you hear what I said?"

"Do what you want." Paul said as he continued to walk.

"Alright!" Hilda screamed excitedly and punching the air. "Also if you want to know my reason of going to Kanto, I'm challenging the Kanto League!"

Paul just smiled softly. "Is that so, then you'll need to get stronger if you want to beat the gym leaders including myself someday." Hilda was getting excited. "Yah! I can't wait!"
