Chapter 10: Hilda vs Misty

Last time Paul went to the Battle Factory to challenge Noland.

Noland had Pokemon for Paul to battle. Paul chose to battle his Manetric, Venusaur, Sandslash, and Machamp.

Paul used his Weavile, Gliscor, Froslass, and his new Charmander. During the battle, Weavile fell to Manetric but Charmander was able to defeat Manetric and Sandslash.

Froslass was able to deal some damage to Venusaur using Hail and Snow Cloak, but, Noland countered with Venusaur's Sunny Day and powered up a Solar Beam but Paul was able to have Froslass Use Destiny Bond to take the Big Plant Pokemon down with it.

Charmader tries to fight Machamp, but is overpowered.

Paul uses his Gliscor against Machamp was tough and it almost seemed that Machamp won but Gliscor learns Acrobatics a new flying type move from the Unova Region. With Gliscor's new move it was able to defeat Machamp and earn Paul a Knowledge Symbol.

Paul's next challenge will be at Saffron City where the Battle Arena and for his next Battle Frontier Challenge.

Right now, Hilda's battle against Misty is on coming that is if the water gym leader has returned.

P.S I decided to add a few actions to Misty getting to know Hilda and Paul.

The two first stop was the Pokemon Center where Paul left his Pokemon for Nurse Joy to check them up. "This might take a while Paul, due to an emergency, it might take 2 hours before I can check on your Pokemon, so if you don't mind leave them with me, and then when I'm sure to be done by the end of the day."

Paul didn't seem to mind. "Thank you I got things to do so I'll be back in a while."

Just then there was a stomach growl. "Ugh..." Hilda's stomach was growling. "Oh I guess I'm hungry, what about you?"

Paul turned his head. "I'm fine..." His stomach growled however which made the unova trainer giggle. "Well looks like your stomach thinks otherwise."

"Shut up!" Paul grumbled in embarrassment.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Nurse Joy said. "Hilda I got a phone call from Misty's sisters, they told me to tell you that Misty has returned so you can go to the gym whenever you like."

Hilda was excited. "Alright, thanks, Nurse Joy!" She instantly ran off but her stomach was still growling. "But first I would like a bite to eat."

The two went to the waiting area where they had their meal.

They had ramen, hot dogs, orange juice, and salad.

Hilda was eating faster. "Yum...so good." She said with a mouthful.

"Geez you don't need to eat like a Munchlax," Paul muttered with annoyance. Hilda didn't hear due to the loud munching sound she was making.

After the meal, they decided to talk for a while. "So Paul, where is the next Battle Frontier?"

Paul took a sip of his orange juice before speaking. "Saffron City, that's where the next gym is, so we need to go through Route 5."

"I see so when I defeat Misty we'll rest here for the night then when morning arrives we'll set out for Saffron City," Hilda said.

Paul gave off a "Hmph" That reminds me to be seen." He got up and placed his hands in his jacket's pockets. "Let's go then."

"Right!" Hilda said.

Eventually, the two arrived at Cerulean gym again, Hilda went to knock on the door. "Hello, I'm Hilda from the Unova Region I came here to challenge the gym leader Misty!"

Just then there the door opened. A small little blue Pokemon with no arms appraoched Hilda. "What Pokemon is that?" She took out her Pokedex and scanned it. "Azurill, the Polka Dot Pokemon. Azurill is able to throw its tail like a lasson, using the momentum to move about. Its also the pre-evolved form of Marill.

There was Misty in her bikini and running toward the two. "Hello, I'm Misty the water gym leader, so you came to challenge."

Hilda nodded which made Misty smile. "Good, I would like a battle, first I'll show the battlefield. "

"Oh, sis!" Violet called out. "I see your challenger has arrived!"

"This shall be good!" Lily added with excitement.

"Don't disappoint us." Daisy teased. "Not that we like battling but it's been so long since we saw you battle a challenger."

Misty's sweat dropped at her sister's ecstatic behavior but smiled a little. "They haven't changed as much."

Misty eventually escorted Hilda and Paul to the gym battlefield which was a pool of water with platforms floating in the center.

Hilda couldn't believe her eyes. "This is cool!" Misty giggled. "Glad you like it, but before we start I would like to ask something."

"Sure what is it," The Unova trainer asked.

"Do you and your friend Paul visit Pallet Town?"

That caused the purple-haired trainer's eyes to widen. "How'd you know my name?"

Misty giggled. "I heard some stories about you from Professor Oak, but other than that you beat Ash a few times and I saw you and him battle at the Sinnoh League." She put her hands on her hips with a slight upset look. "That said, I heard of the mean stuff you said about Ash."

Paul gave her a cold stare but didn't respond and Misty wasn't done. "I might not have been there to see how intense your rivalry with Ash was. But, in a way I guess it was no different between him and Gary. Ash was would always get worked up to prove he was a great trainer." A smile took shape on her face. "But, from what I heard in your last battle, it was a great battle."

"Hmph, yes we battled it was close," Paul said with his eyes closed. "I intend to get stronger and someday I might battle him again."

Misty giggled. "I see, I would like to see you two battle each other."

"Did you two know that Misty's hoping to see Ash again someday!?" Daisy called out.

"Yeah, no doubt, she'll be happy to see her boyfriend!" Violet teased.

Misty did the anime fall as her face went red and Lily laughed. "Hey, I heard she got all teary-eyed when she had to part ways with her boyfriend!"

Paul tilt his head with a slight surprise on his face. "Didn't think he had a girlfriend." Then again Ash wasn't too bright about that stuff.

"Hey you three! Ash isn't my boyfriend!" Misty comically yelled with embarrassment.

"Psy...duck..." Psyduck appeared out of nowhere behind his trainer.

"Wha...Psyduck..." Misty stuttered.

"Oh, what's that Pokemon?" Hilda took out her Pokedex and scanned the water Pokemon. "Psyduck the Duck Pokemon. When a Psyduck's headache gets severe, it starts to exhibit odd powers."

Hilda was intrigued. "Exhibit odd powers, that's cool."

Psyduck then gave Misty a goofy look like it was teasing. "Very funny!" Misty barked with ticked off look.

Paul didn't know why but he found this sort of funny but kept his snicker in. "Well, looks like someone's Pokemon knows how to work up their trainer." He commented.

"No way, Psyduck is just a pain in a butt sometimes!" Misty barked again startling some of the other water Pokemon.

"I hate to say it but that Paul guy has a point," Violet laughed.

"True, she gets worked up than a Primape!" Lily agreed.

"She's a tomboy alright!" Daisy stated.

Those comments earned them a glare from their youngest sister who had multiple anime marks on her head. "Shut up!"

"So, this is like when sisters tease each other, rather the teasing the youngest one." Hilda thought with a sweat drop.

"Anyway, let's get this battle started!" Misty then looked at Hilda who was snickering a bit. "So are you ready to battle?"

Hilda pumped her arm with a smile. "You bet!" Then she got an idea. "Hold on, Eevee come out!" Hilda bent down and smiled at her new Pokemon. "Eevee I want you to watch my battle so you can see what a gym battle is like."

Eevee nodded its head as Hilda turned to Paul. "Hey Paul, keep an eye on Eevee for me." That made purple purple-haired boy twitch with annoyance. But before Paul say anything Eevee ran over to the boy and rubbed its face against his. "Hmph".

"Aw isn't that cute?" Daisy laughed with a tease in her voice.

Short time later

Misty and Hilda got to their positions.

The battlefield was the indoor swimming pool with four separate platforms in the middle.

"Both trainers will use three Pokemon each, the challenger is only able to call back their Pokemon when needed, and the battle is over when either side's Pokemon is unable to continue!" Daisy announced.

"I choose Bulbasaur!" Hilda proclaimed tossing the Pokeball.

"Bulba-saur!" The Bulb Pokemon said landing on one of the platforms.

Misty chuckled a bit. "Oh a grass type, I should've guessed, I choose Staryu!"

"HYAH!" The star-shaped Pokemon said landing on one of the platforms on its side.

"I'll go first, Bulbasaur use Sleep Powder!" Hilda commanded.

"Nice try, Staryu dive underwater!" Misty commanded as her star shape Pokemon jumped into the water avoiding the sleep powder.

"Bulba!" The bulb Pokemon said in surprise.

"Not good," Hilda muttered.

"Use Swift now!" A bunch of stars were fired from the water hitting Bulbasaur in the face. "Bulbasaur no!"

"Now let's do this, use Rapid Spin!" Staryu began to spin around rapidly and spun towards Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur stop it with Vine Whip!"

Bulbasaur used one of its vines to whip the Staryu making it lose control and falling into the pool. "No Staryu!"

"Now jump in the air and Tackle attack from above!" Hilda commanded.

Bulbasaur leaped in the air and dived at Staryu and tackled its body onto its opponent. "Hang in there Staryu, use Bubblebeam!"

Strayu unleashed a bunch of bubbles from its jewel in the middle of its body that glowed orange bubbles which hit Bulbasaur at close range since it was on top of it still and was sent flying into the air and fell onto one of the other platforms.

"She's gotten a lot tougher than she was before," Violet commented looking impressed.

Paul was seemingly impressed. "Misty isn't too bad after all."

"Now finish this up using Double-Edge!" Misty commanded.

Strayu was doing a reckless tackle. "HYAH!"

Hilda was worried. "If Bulbasaur doesn't dodge it then it's done for, too bad Bulbasaur doesn't have springs or something." Then it hit her. "Wait that's it, Bulbsaur use your Vine Whip to jump!"

Bulbasaur opened its eyes and slammed its vines on the platform enabling it to jump in the air just as Staryu was almost able tackle into it.

"Ah!" Misty exclaimed in surprise.

"That's quite a jump!" Lily added in amazement.

"Ee!" Eevee said in surprise.

Paul was impressed a little. "Not bad."

"Now Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf at full power!" Bulbasaur unleashed sharp leaves at the Staryu which dealt super effective damage and sent it falling into the pool.

Staryu was knocked out as the light in its gem was flickering on and off.

"Staryu is unable to battle! Bulbasaur is the winner!" Daisy announced.

"Way to go Bulbasaur!" Hilda called out happily.

"Bulba...saur." The Bulb Pokemon nodded with a smile.

"Staryu...you did great so take a good rest," Misty said returning its Pokeball to her side. "Well that was quite the strategy. Ordering Bulbasaur to use Vine Whip to jump, I remember someone who used that too."

"She must mean Ash." Paul thought.

"Well, time to the next round. I choose Corsola!" Misty threw her second Pokemon's Pokeball.

"Corsola!" The pink coral proclaimed.

"What Pokemon is that?" Hilda questioned as she took out her Pokedex. "

"Corsola, the Coral pokemon. This Pokemon is a combination of Water and Rock Types. It sheds and regrows the horns on its head numerous times."

"It's cute and looks strong!" Hilda called out. "Anyway, Bulbasaur, you need some rest, so I'll save you for later." She placed the Pokeball into her pocket and took out another. "I chose Emolga!"

"Emo!" The flying squirrel Pokemon said as it winked its eye.

"What is that Pokemon?" Misty asked with a cutesy face.

"Aw, it's so cute!" Lily cupped her face with cutesy face.

"I want to hug that cutie!" Daisy added with the same expression on her face.

"This is Emolga a Pokemon who lives in the Unova which is where I'm from," Hilda explained. "It's an electric and flying type."

"You know you shouldn't give that information out," Paul muttered.

"Enough talk, Corsola use Spike Cannon!" The coral pokemon glowed white and pointed its horns at the Emogla firing multiple white spikes from it.

"Emogla use Agility!" Hilda commanded.

The flying squirrel dodged the white spikes with high speed. "Now use Spark!"

"Dive underwater quick!" Corsola jumped into the water like it did before.

"Good, Emolga use Discharge in the water!" Hilda commanded.

Emogla unleashed a flare of electricity striking everything around it but Misty was prepared for that. "Mirror Coat."

Corsola emerged from the water and its body glowed like a shiny mirror which deflected the electric attack and sent its attack back at the flying squirrel dealing damage. "Emo!"

"Emogla!" Hilda shouted in shock.

"So she waited for the moment to a Mirror Coat which sends back a special attack," Paul said looking impressed. "Misty knows what she's doing."

"Quite the strategy," Daisy said looking more impressed.

"Emogla use Spark attack this time!" Hilda commanded.

Emogla threw itself with an electrically charged tackle toward Corsola and dealt super effective damage. "Awesome a hit!" Hilda cheered.

Misty just smiled. "Recover." Corsola relaxed itself as its body glowed white.

"Recover!?" Hilda exclaimed.

"So it can use Recover," Paul said looking impressed than ever.

"I can't let it heal itself, Emogla use Spark quick!" The flying squirrel did so but the moment that it got near Corsola dove underwater.

"Emo!" Emolga said with a gaping mouth.

"Oh no!" Hilda exclaimed.

"So battling up close was a trick," Lily said with an impressive smile.

"Now use Spike Cannon!" Corsola's body glowed white aimed its horns upwards at the flying squirrel and fired multiple white spikes at a close range which dealt massive damage.

"Emolga no!" Hilda cried in shock.

"Eev!" Eevee cried seeing its teammate take a hit.

"Now use Bubblebeam!" Misty commanded.

"Corso-la!" The coral Pokemon fired orange bubbles from its mouth and hit Emogla hard which made it crash into the wall creating a mist cloud.

When the mist from the bubblebeam cleared there was Emogla on the floor with dizzy eyes.

"Emogla is unable to battle! Corsola wins!" Daisy announced raising her arm.

"Emogla return!" Hilda called back as she looked at its Pokeball. "You did great so take a nice rest." She looked at Misty. "Her Corsola is something, knowing Recover and Mirror Coat, hmm I can't use Bulbasaur it still needs to recover." She took out another Pokeball. "In that case I choose Samurott!"

"Sam-urott!" The water otter roared.

"That's a cutie!" Lily cried with excitement.

"Aw, a water Pokemon, it's so cute!" Misty glowed with hearts in her eyes. "I hoped you would use a water Pokemon!"

Hilda sweat dropped at Misty's sudden mood change. "Uh yeah."

Paul didn't know what to think of this.

"Anyway, Samurott use Aqua Jet!" Hilda commanded.

The sea otter engulfed its body into water and jetted towards the coral Pokemon. "Corsola dodge by diving in underwater!"

Samurott gritted its teeth but this time Hilda was prepared. "Use Scale to heat up the pool water!" That was a good idea the formidable Pokemon did unleash hot water right into the pool and it got heated up in seconds.

Corsola was feeling pain and hot. "Cor...cor...Corsola!" The coral pokemon jumped out of the swimming pool yelling in pain. "Ah!" Misty exclaimed in surprise.

"That's a new move!" Lily stated in awe.

"It's effective too!" Violet added.

Corsola was glowing red. "It seems that Corsola is burned," Hilda said with a proud smile. "You see Scald could cause a Pokemon to get burned."

"This is far from over Corsola use Recover!" Misty commanded but Hilda wasn't finished. "No way, quick Samurott use Razor Shell before it does!"

The forminable Pokemon drew out both its seamiters which grew a light blue sword blade and slashed the coral pokemon in the face. "Cor-sola!" The coral pokemon cried out in pain sending it crashing into the pool.

"That looked like a critical hit!" Lily exclaimed.

Corsola floated up on the surface with dizzy eyes.

"Corsola is unable to battle! Samurott is the winner!" Daisy announced.

"Alright, you did Samurott!" Hilda cheered raising her arms.

"Eev!" Eevee cheered happily.

"That Samurott is strong," Lily said astonished.

"Yes, I admit that girl is a strong trainer," Violet added with a nod.

"Corsola return!" Misty called as she looked at its Pokeball. "Good job you take a long rest." She put away the Pokeball and took out another. "You beat two of my Pokemon, you did well this is quite different from when Ash battled me."

Hilda was a little interested. "How did the battle go between you two?"

Misty giggled awkwardly. "That's for another time, let's get round three started, I choose Gyarados!" Her Atrocious Pokemon appeared letting out a roar like it was ready to battle.

"That's huge!" Hilda exclaimed taking out her Pokedex and scanning the water creature.

"Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon. This Pokemon has a vicious temperament, so use extreme caution. Its fangs can crush stones and its scales are harder than steel." Pokedex stated.

"I'll keep Samurott out," Hilda said.

"That's fine, I like your water Pokemon but I won't go easy on it!" Misty stated looking more serious. "Gyarados Hydro Pump!"

"Samurott Hydro Pump too!"

The two water pokemon unleashed a pump of water which collided and exploded too.

"Their attacks are equal," Paul said covering his face using his arms.

"Use Scald!" Hilda commanded as the formidable Pokemon unleashed a hot stream of water at the sea serpent Pokemon.

"Gyarados use Dragon Rage!" Her sea serpent pokemon unleashed a fire-like ball which collided with a hot water attack.

The two attacks collided together causing an explosion sending both of the Pokemon backward but surprisingly Gyarados wasn't fazed as much.

Samurott took some damage from the resulting shockwaves. "Samu-rott..."

"Looks like Samurott is getting tired." Hida thought realizing the situation. "I'll have to strike first to get closer, Aqua Jet now!"

Samurott engulfed its entire body in water and jetted towards the serpent-like Pokemon colliding against its body.

"A hit!" Lily exclaimed.

A faint smile appeared on Misty's face which Paul noticed. "Perfect! Now Gyarados Thunder Fang!"

"Did she say Thunder Fang," Hilda questioned.

Gyarados' large fangs gave off an electrical surge and sank its fang into the Formidable Pokemon's body and electrocuted it.

"Samu-rott!" The Forminable Pokemon cried out with pain.

"Oh no!" Hilda cried out in horror.

As the electric attack ceased Samurott was standing and gave Gyarados a smirk before it fainted with dizzy eyes. "Sam-urott..."

"Samurott is unable to battle Gyarados wins!" Daisy announced.

"You did it Gyarados, I love you!" Misty cheered with her arms up.

Hilda took Samurott's Pokeball. "Samurott return..." She smiled sadly. "You did great so take a good rest." She looked at Gyarados. "That Gyarados is stronger than I thought, I heard those Pokemon can be strong, and seeing them in battle is more than I thought." She put her Pokemon's Pokeball away.

Paul saw the look in his companion's eyes. "She looks like she's gonna lose it."

Hilda prepared to take out Bulbasaur's Pokeball. "Bulbasaur, you...must give..." She struggled to throw.

Paul abruptly got up looking serious. "Hilda!" Everyone including Hilda herself turned to the purpled-haired boy. "If you're thinking of giving up then forget!"

Hilda's looked at the boy wondering where this outburst was coming from but Paul wasn't finished. "Listen if you give up then your pathetic!"

"That's harsh," Lily muttered.

"Then again I don't think Ash wouldn't give up either if he was battling Misty," Daisy said smiling a little.

"If you want to prove that I'm wrong then keep fighting!" Paul added with a serious look in his eyes.

Misty was astonished. "Paul the jerk of a trainer giving advice, I have to admit this guy maybe has changed a little from what I heard from Oak."

Hilda looked at her Pokeball. "Bulbasaur, I'm sorry I almost gave up and that would've hurt you and the others that fought so hard." She tossed the Pokeball. "Bulbasaur come out!"

"Bulba-saur!" The bulb Pokemon proclaimed.

"Good not giving up, I admire that," Misty said with a smile. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you, Gyarados use Hydro Pump!" The seperant pokemon unleashed a large pump stream of water at the bulb pokemon.

"Bulbasaur use your Vine Whip to jump!" Hilda commanded showing confidence.

The bulb Pokemon used both its vines to jump up in the air. "Saw that coming, Gyarados use Thunder Fang!" The sea serpent bore its electric fangs at the bulb Pokemon and went for a bite.

"Bulbasur use Leech Seed!" The bulb pokemon sprouted a few seeds from its bulb which were planted on the Atrocious Pokemon which started to zap its energy.

"Not bad using Leech Seed will zap Gyarados' energy which will be transferred to Bulbasaur," Misty said looking impressed.

Hilda smiled. "Right!" She also knew it wouldn't take all of Gyarados' energy but little by little during the battle she'll need a strategy that take more of its energy away.

"Bulbasaur Razor Leaf!" Hilda commanded.

The Bulb Pokemon released razor-like leaves toward the Atrocious Pokemon which hit it but barely did much damage.

"Its body is stronger than I thought." Hilda thought.

"Gyarados use Dragon Rage!" Misty commanded.

The Atrocious Pokemon unleashed a light fiery ball at the bulb Pokemon which hit the ground and exploded creating shockwaves that sent the grass Pokemon flying.

"Bulbasaur!" Hilda cried out.

The Bulb Pokemon was sent flying as Misty saw a chance. "Now use Thunder Fang!" The Atrocious bore its fangs at the bulb Pokemon and got its mouth closer and closer to it.

"If this attack hits it could be over," Violet said seeing the situation.

Hilda realized that too and then saw its barbel. "I wonder if I could grab it..." She smiled faintly. "Bulbasaur use Vine Whip to grab one of its Barbels!"

Everyone gasped at the bizarre command as the bulb Pokemon grabbed its right barbel using its left vine. "Now use your other vine to grab its other barbel!" Bulbasaur did so.

"What is she planning?" Misty wondered.

"Use Sleep Powder!" Hilda commanded as her bulb Pokémon released some blue spores that went to Gyarados' face and it began to get drowsy and fell down with its head on the edge of the pool.

"Ah!" Misty, Daisy, Violent, and Lily gasped in shock.

"Now use Energy Ball!" The bulb unleashed a green light ball from its mouth and fired at point blank at Gyarados' face which hit it hard.

"Gyarados wake up!" Misty yelled in shock.

"Now Bulbasaur use another Energy Ball again!"

"Bulba!" It unleashed another green light ball from its mouth again doing more damage to Gyarados' face.

Not only that Leech Seed was sucking Gyarados' energy as well and doing more damage. "Now let's finish this up!" Hilda said with a confident smile. "Bulbasaur! Use Razor Leaf and hit Gyarados with everything you got!"

Bulbasaur released a lot of razor leaves at the Gyarados dealing more damage.

The sea serpent then suddenly woke up and lifted its head while staring at its opponent. Misty was relieved but it was short lived one of her strongest Water Pokemon felt its injuries and collapsed its head on the side of the pool with dizzy eyes. "Gyarados!" Misty yelled.

"Gyarados is unable to battle Bulbasaur wins!" Daisy announced as she pointed to the challenger's side. "The winner is Hilda from Nuvema Town!"

Hilda was silent but she smiled and jumped with excitement. "We did it!" She ran over to Bulbasaur and hugged it. "You were great Bulbasaur!"

"Bulb-bulb-saur." The bulb Pokemon said with a smile.

Eevee jumped up and down with joy seeing its trainer win. "Eevee! Eevee!"

Misty approached Gyarados. "Gyarados..." She smiled proudly as she took out its Pokeball. "You did great, so take a good long rest."

"Azurill..." The arm less Water Pokemon said a little worried. Misty glanced at it with a assuring smile. "Don't worry, Azurill, Gyarados will be fine."

Paul smiled a little and clapped. "You did good." He walked toward Hilda with a small smile.

Hilda smiled back. "Yes, your encouragement was what made me keep fighting, even though it was harsh you stood by my side."

Paul turned his head away. "No need to make a big deal out of it."

Eevee ran over to her trainer as Hilda bent down. "You see that, that's what a gym battle will be like and someday, you'll be in a gym battle too." Eevee nodded signaling that it was ready for any future battles.

Misty walked over to Hilda. "Hilda, you were great, your bond with your Bulbasaur is something." She looked a the bulb Pokemon. "Though it's been with you for a short time but its almost like you've been friends for a long time."

Hilda smiled proudly. "Yes, your Pokemon are strong and I learned some things from this battle, and I will keep getting stronger."

Misty offered her hand. "Yes, I hope to see you battle against Ash someday." She then took something into her hand's palm. "Here is the Cascade Badge."

Hilda took it and brought out her Pokemon. "We won and got the Cascade Badge!"

Her Pokemon cheered happily.

"Samurott!"

"Bulbasaur!"

"Emolga!"

"Eevee!"

"That girl is something." Lily giggled.

"Energetic too," Violet added.

"A little more cuter than Misty." Daisy laughed.

Hearing that made Misty growl. "You three can be so mean!" She started throwing a temper tantrum as her sisters just kept giggling. "C'mon, its natural for sisters to tease their little baby sister."

"I'm not a baby sister!" Misty barked comically with a few vein marks on her head and stomping her feet.

Hilda and Paul sweatdropped at the scene before them.

"Anyway, Paul..." Misty said finally calming down. "I don't know what will happen between you and Ash, but, I hope you guys can battle again. Whenever that happens, I hope it'll be a great battle. Despite how harsh you are, your encouragement does seem to have effect on your friends and I think it shows that you care in your own way."

Paul gave his usual rough look for a minute. "My ways are my own. Besides that, I hope to battle Ash someday." He said bluntly. "So, we'll be seeing you, Misty."

"Take care you two!" Lily waved.

"Yeah, underneath that tough guy that Paul displayed, he's quite smart." Daisy teased in a whispering tone.

"Not to mention more handsome than Ash," Violet whispered back.

A short time later.

Hilda and Paul went to the Pokemon Center.

Nurse Joy was waiting. "Paul, I'm pleased to tell you that your Pokemon are fit and well." Paul got his Pokemon's Pokeballs. "Thanks, Nurse Joy." He bowed respectfully.

Hilda handed her Pokemon to Nurse Joy. "My Pokemon need some rest so can you check on them,"

The famous nurse Joy smiled and eventually took her Pokemon for treatment.

After a half-hour

Paul and Hilda had dinner at the center.

Ding

Nurse Joy came out and greeted Hilda. "Hilda, your Pokemon are willing to recover." She then had a serious look on her face. "I suggest you two stay for the night, your Pokemon need a full night's rest."

Paul didn't like staying in one place for long but had to obey. "Right."

Shortly the two got their rooms.

Paul was already asleep while Hilda had a lot on her mind and she had her Eevee out. "Paul, I know the people that you know think you're heartless but perhaps you have good in you." She admitted that his encouragement was a little unusual but he was able to keep her in the battle.

Eevee was sleeping peacefully. "Eevee the battle you saw, I hope you learned something and I know we will battle as a team."

Hilda has gotten her second Kanto badge. Paul has gotten to know Misty a little and earned her respect on how he supports his companions. What will await for Paul and Hilda, find out next time.

End of chapter.
