Chapter 13: Night at Pokemon Tower
Last Hilda encountered an old traveling companion of hers Cheren who battled Paul and won. Getting some advice from Hilda's old traveling companion Paul knew he had to change his battle style for the other challenges that await him.
Hilda also ends up catching a Vulpix but the first time she battled it using her Eevee she lost and it got away but after finding out it fought against another trainer she went to find it and this time ends up catching the fox Pokemon.
M
Conway was at Mt Moon doing research on the Pokemon he encounter there and then a Solrock appears. After a hard battle the super nerd trainer manages to capture the Meteorite Pokemon.
Finally Barry a trainer from Sinnoh Region returns and meets Paul again, he also meets Hilda, and ends up joining the two trainers on their journey.
The three trainers went into Dark Cave and after some encounters with some Pokemon and they made it out of the cave.
At the time it was foggy.
"This fog is so thick." Barry said looking around. "I can't see a thing."
"Stupid fog." Paul muttered.
Hilda had an idea. "Maybe we should place on our hands on each other's shoulders so we don't get seperated."
"Good idea." Barry commented.
Paul was in front so Hilda placed her hands on his shoulders while Barry placed his hands on the girl's shoulders. "Its like we're in a horror movie."
Hilda's spine crawled. "That's not funny..."
Just then a shadow was floating with red eyes was watching the three trainers from one of the nearby trees.
As they stopped in the city where a Pokemon center was and went inside to get their Pokemon checked out. They got some information about the places that they could see but were told by a young woman about Pokemon Tower and the Ghost Pokemon that hung inside there.
After the trainers got their Pokemon checked out they left promising to be back later before midnight they decided to go to Pokemon Tower, well Hilda decided that though.
They walked on a dirt path.
"So what is this Pokemon Tower like?" Hilda asked.
Barry shrugged. "Don't ask me."
Paul sighed. "Its a place where Ghost Pokemon usual hang out, my brother and I went there and there were a few ghost Pokemon, though who knows what else might be there now." Something also told that Ash was probably here when he began his journey in Kanto.
It was sunset as soon as they arrived there and the tower like a mansion, it was huge with horns sticking out from both sides with a balcony in the front with a few windows, in the upper top was stones that were shaped like eyes. The appearance was enough to give a spooky vibe.
"That's Pokemon Tower," Hilda whimpered a little.
"Aw come on, its not that scary." Barry laughed acting tough and brave.
Russs
"Ahh!" Barry screamed as Hilda did too.
Out came a Rattata from a nearby bush, who was spoked at the two trainer's screaming. "It was a just Rattata." Paul groaned annoyed at the two's pointless panicking.
"Not scared are you," Hilda asked sarcastically with her hands on her hips.
"Heh...heh...heh..." Barry chuckled with embarrassment with his hand behind his head.
In the Balcony was three glowing eyes and disappeared into the darkness.
"Let's go inside we're wasting time." Paul proceed towards the entrance door.
Barry followed but then stopped when Hilda didn't move an inch." What is your deal?"
"Oh I'm just gonna stay out here." Hilda replied nervously but her face read "I'm not going in there" Paul wasn't fooled by this. "You wanted to go here and now you're just scared,"
Hilda puffed her cheek and began pinching the boy's cheek. "Alright I'm a little jumpy but this tower gives me a creepy vibe!" Paul's cheek were released as he rubbed rub it in pain while opening his eyes slightly. "Then stop whining and let's go!"
Inside a tv show.
Gengar and Gastly were watching a goofy show and were laughing at the comically scenes.
Just then two Shuppets, two Duskulls, and two Misdreavus' were talking to the two kanto ghost Pokemon.
"Gastly!"
"Gengar!"
"Shuppet!"
"Du-skull!"
"Misdreavus!"
The Ghost Pokemon were ready to have a spooky night.
The three enter a large room with a few dressers and wardrobes. "Its pitch black in here." Hilda said looking around.
"Calls for a little light." Paul suggested taking out a pokeball. "Charmander stand by!"
"Char! Char!" The lizard Pokemon said it lit up the room with a Flamethrower but it quickly tires out.
"Its gonna take more than a flamethrower to lit this room." Hilda shivered with fright.
"Well there's no power here as least it seems." Barry pointed out with his hand under his chin.
"Hold on I found a candle." Paul said holding a candle. "Charmander light it."
Which his fire type Pokemon did but accidently burnt his trainer in the process. "I meant the candle not me!" Paul shouted comically which was un-usual for him.
Hilda snickered a little and then she saw a hand mirror on the dresser. "Oh this is quite the mirror." She looked at her reflection but just then Gastly appeared. "AAAHHH!" She screamed dropping the mirror on the floor which shattered.
"What is your problem!?" Paul asked a little startled.
"My face!" Hilda began to touch her face all over but felt her own skin and hair. "Oh, I thought that..."
Barry laughed. "Sounds like your reflection scared you!"
"That's not funny!" Hilda shouted with puff cheeks.
The three walked down a hallway and then they opened a pair of doors. "What is this room?" Barry wondered.
Just then the lights for the room lit up the room. "Whoa, what a room?" Hilda commented with amazement.
"A diner room, a large one that." Paul thought as he looked around the room.
Barry then noticed something hanging from the ceiling which was above the dining table. "What's that?"
"Looks like a rope with instructional note attached to it." Paul answered.
"Really..." Hilda attempted reach out for the rope and pulled it down.
This causes confetti and a welcome sign. "Welcome...?" Barry wondered in question.
"By who?" Paul added sharing the same reaction.
Just then the dishes, silverware, napkins, and chairs began to float in the air. "What is going on?" Hilda asked in fright.
Paul observed the situation. "A Ghost pokemon must be nearby and using a Psychic attack to cause all these things to float."
Gengar was nearby and invisible too. "Gen...gar...Gengar..." The ghost pokemon was little annoyed that its prank was spoiled.
Gastly appeared behind Barry and licked him. "Ah!" The blond boy exclaimed as his skin crawled.
"What is your problem?" Hilda asked clearly shaking at her friend's scream.
"Something touched my neck." Barry said looking around the direction he felt it.
"Must the Ghost Pokemon." Paul thought.
Gengar glanced at two Duskulls and nodded at them.
The two Duskulls summoned out several Will-O-Wisps and then Gengar used its Psychic move sending each blue fireballs at the trainer's feet.
"Ouch!" Hilda shouted feeling her boots get burned.
Barry began to jump around. "Ow that's hot!"
Paul just dodged it with ease. "This is Will-O-Wisp!"
Duskulls appeared. "That's a Duskull!" Barry exclaimed as he took out his Pokedex. "Duskull the Requiem Pokemon, this Pokemon can pass through any wall no matter how thick it may be.
"Cool I gotta catch one of them!" Barry took out a Pokeball. "Tepig let's go!"
"Te-pig!" The fire pig said as fire blew from its nostrils.
Duskull unleashed a shade of darkness from its two eye sockets which hit the floor where Tepig was standing. "Te-pig!"
"No!" Barry shouted.
"That was Night Shade." Paul observed. "Quite the power."
Tepig was sent on its stomach but despite the damage it got up. "Good job, now use Ember!" The fire pig unleashed some ember flames from its nostrils but Duskull disappeared.
"Hey, where'd it go!?" Barry exclaimed in annoyance.
"It made itself invisible." Paul thought as he observed the room. "It could be anywhere."
"This is bad, finding it won't be easy." Hilda added.
"Tepig try to sense where Duskull!" Barry commanded.
The fire pig stayed still listening hard while closing its eyes but as it did Duskull appeared from behind. "Behind you!" But it was too late Duskull unleashed a Confuse Ray attack.
Tepig's eyes was dizzy as birds circled around its head. "Its confused now!" Barry exclaimed.
"Not good." Hilda muttered.
Duskull's red glowing light created a shadow-like version of itself and went right through the fire pig sucking its energy which sent it crashing into the ground.
Tepig was knocked out. "No, ugh, Tepig return." Barry returned his new fire pokemon to its pokeball.
Two Shuppets appeared and summoned out a few Will-O-Wisp then their eyes glowed light blue and started to control the blue flames.
"Those Shuppets are using Psychic to control their Will-O-Wisp." Hilda stated.
Paul smirked like he was impressed. "Quite a combination." He never thought of doing that before.
The Shuppets then began to use Psychic move around their Will-O-Wisp and then put the flames together to form a Gengar.
"That's cool!" Barry shouted in excitement. "I never saw any ghost Pokemon do that!"
Paul didn't know whether to be impressed or not, but it seemed like the Shuppets were putting on a show or something.
Midsdreavus then appeared invisible and took out of Hilda's hat and snuck away with it. "Hey, what was that?" She turned to see her hat was floating in the air. "Not funny!" She ran after.
"Wait for us!" Barry ran after her.
"This is getting old." Paul followed.
As the two boys ran towards the door it closed on them which made them crash into the doors. "Ouch that hurt..." Barry groaned as he fell backwards.
"This is getting old." Paul muttered feeling a bit silly.
Just then the room got dark. "Who turned out the lights?" Bary asked startled.
Paul was getting more annoyed. "If you ghost Pokemon want to battle then bring it."
Behind the two trainers was Duskull and Gengar. "Duuuskull..."
"Gengar Gengar."
Hilda continued to go after the invisible thief. "Give me my hat back!" Eevee was running besides its trainer as her trainer glanced at her and got an idea. "Eevee use Quick Attack catch up and jump to get my hat back!"
Eevee got the order and used its speed attack to get closer to the ghost pokemon and jumped up towards it. At the last second it got closer Misdreavus tossed the hat aside and other Misdreavus caught it.
Eevee missed and crashed onto the floor. "Oh no Eevee!" Hilda ran over to her normal pokemon and picked it up in her arms. "Are you ok?"
The evolution Pokemon nodded. "That's good." Hilda then turned to the two ghost Pokemon. "That wasn't funny!' She got up as Eeveen jumped from her trainer's arms and onto the floor.
The two continued to pursue the two ghost Pokemon through the hallway.
The Misdreavus opened a door using Psychic attack while the other carrying the hat went inside then closing the door. "They went inside that!" Hilda said as she opened the door and Eevee followed.
But when the two went inside it was pitch black. "Hey, where are the lights?" She reached out for a wall which she did and reached out to feel for a light switch. "Dang it, this nuts." Then she felt a switch which flip it upwards then little lights that were hanging on each wall lit up.
The lights gave a off a glimming sight, each was shining perfectly like in a hotel bedroom, the bed was large then a normal bed at Pokemon centers. "I wonder who owned this tower?" She walked towards the bed and felt the covers and sheets with her hands.
"So soft." She fell on the bed which felt so comfy. "Aw...its so cozzy..." Hilda laid on her back and relaxed.
One of the Misdreavus' tossed her hat which landed on her face. "Oh! My hat!" She hugged like a stuffed plushie toy.
"Eev-Eev!" Eevee was happy for its trainer.
She looked up at the roof and stared for a moment. "Man, I'm feeling a bit tired." Suddenly the two Misdreavus appeared before her eyes. "Wha-?" The ghost pokemon unleashed a hypnotic waves at the girl and her eyes started to get sleepy. "Its Hypnosis...no-not...no-now."
She and Eevee doozed off to sleep and then Gastly appeared then its gas like body formed into hands and taking their spirits from their bodies.
M
Paul and Barry were still in the dining room. "This is becoming a pain."
"I agree, its so dark that we can't see a thing." Paul then realized he dropped the candle and that it was out but the only light was Charmander's tail.
"Looks like we're have to fight our way out, Charmander Scary Face!" He ordered as the lizard pokemon made a horrified face.
Gengar and Duskull stared for a moment and laughed amusingly. "That didn't work, should've known that." Paul muttered in annoyance. "Charmander use Dragon Claw!"
Gengar and Duskull stood still then two Shuppets appeared above along with another Duskull. "Shuppets!" Barry exclaimed. "Another Duskull too!"
The Ghost Pokemon then unleashed a hypnotic waves at the same time. "Its a Hypnosis attack." Paul thought but that's not what surprised him the most. "They're using it in combination too."
He was right the hypnotic wave was big that Paul, Barry, and Charmander were affected at the same time and then fell onto the floor asleep.
Gengar approached the two trainers pulled their spirits from their bodies then did the same thing to Charmander.
Each of the trainers and their Pokemon opened their eyes and as soon as they did there they saw their bodies on the floor motionless.
"What the heck is this?" Paul questioned.
"Why is happening?" Barry asked with his eyes popping out.
"This is freaky!" Hilda cried out.
"Eevee!" The evolution Pokemon said in awe.
"Char-char!" Charmander said in shock.
Hilda then looked at the Gastly, who was trying to tell her something. She observed carefully as the gas ghost pokemon began to use some explain by gesturing her spirit towards her body.
Gengar began to talk to Paul, Barry, and Charmander using the same gestures.
"What is he saying?" Barry wondered not following much.
"If I have to guess Gengar must've separated us from our bodies somehow." Paul answered.
His guess was right when Gengar nodded its head.
"You got to be kidding?" Barry questioned. "I don't want to be a ghost yet!"
Hilda was freaking out. "This can't be happening!"
Eevee was in awe.
Gastly gas like body formed into one hand and grabbed Hilda by her wrist while two Misdreavus carried Eevee up using their heads.
Gengar took hold of Barry in its arms and flew up the ceiling while one of Duskull pushed Paul up by his back while the other took hold of Charmander's tail and took it up.
The three trainers found themselves in the air above the tower.
Paul and Barry noticed Hilda. "Hilda?"
"You guys too!?" She exclaimed with her jaw dropping.
Charmander and Eevee looked at each other in awe. "Char!
"Eevee!"
The Ghost Pokemon gestured their guests to look ahead. "What do they want?" Paul asked looking annoyed.
There ahead was a view of the Lavender Town and was quite a view, seeing the lights from the buildings shine. "What a view!" Barry said in amazement.
"Sure is." Hilda agreed.
Paul hated to admit it but it was but didn't speak.
Charmander was astonished at the view.
Eevee had stars in its eyes.
"Let's fly through the forest!" Hilda suggested.
"Yeah, that sounds like fun!" Barry was excited.
Paul cringed at the word "Fun" But before he speak Hilda grabbed him by his wrist. "Don't say anything!" This took the trainer by surprise. "I know we were under some stress but for tonight let's have fun!"
As much Paul would like to argue he decided to go with this suggestion. "Fine."
They flew through the trees with the Ghost Pokemon. "This is so much fun!" Barry shouted with a smile.
"We're like flying Pokemon soaring through the air." Hilda added. "And we don't need wings though!"
Paul didn't know why but this was fun though this something he didn't experience back in Sinnoh. "Fun...its a weird feeling..." Even after all those years of traveling alone through Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, he never done anything fun instead he trained his Pokemon harshly and not getting a break.
Charmander and Eevee flew around some of the trees. "Charmander!"
"Eevee!"
The two Pokemon were enjoying themselves having time of their lives.
A short time later.
The trainers and their Pokemon were taken to a play room where there was a merry go round, bouncing balls, and games.
"A play room." Barry said looking around.
"There's a merry-go-round!" Hilda exclaimed in awe.
The two trainers got on the statue like horses and were riding around. "This is fun!"
"Just don't lose your lunch!" Barry joked.
"That's not funny!" Hilda snapped comically.
Eevee was walking on a large bouncy ball. "Eev! Eev!"
Charmander was riding on a swing. "Char! Charmander!"
Paul observed the room. "I suppose they just wanted someone to play with." He felt weird saying that, he usual doesn't care what Pokemon think or want for that matter either.
Gastly and Gengar approached the purple haired. "I can you see you guys wanted to play someone." He smiled a little. "Honestly, I suppose I did have fun." That felt weird coming him though he admitted that too, he had a look of determination. "However I'm afraid we can't stay here for long, I have a journey and want to see it through the end."
Gastly and Gengar were expecting this though they felt sad.
The two Shuppets and two Misdreavus' were sad too.
The other trainers and their Pokemon approached the ghost Pokemon.
"Come on, even though we're leaving in the morning, we won't forget you guys!" Barry said with a big smile.
"Yeah, so get all sad on us." Hilda said even though she was feeling choked up.
Paul groaned at this. "Anyway, we'll stay here for the night, but in morning we shall leave."
"Eev! Eevee!" The Evolution Pokemon said with a friendly smile.
Charmander smiled at the ghost pokemon. "Char! Charmander!" It was telling them not to be sad, which made the Ghost Pokemon smile.
A short time later.
The trainers got back in their bodies, then later they got in separate guest rooms while some of Ghost Pokemon were already asleep in other rooms.
Though Gengar and Gastly were still awake and Paul had something else to say to them. "Gengar, Gastly." The two ghost Pokemon looked at the purpled haired trainer. "Do you two know of Trainer named Ash and his Pikachu."
The two Ghost Pokemon's eyes widened in realization which confirmed Paul's question. "Yeah I figured that would get your attention, if you're wondering how he's doing, he's fine." Paul had his arms crossed and then a small smile appeared on his face. "He and I battled in the Sinnoh League, he's gotten stronger as well as his Pikachu too."
Gengar and Gastly were happy to hear this as memories of Ash and his Pikachu flowed through their memories, though it was sad to him go along with Haunter, they were happy to know that the human boy they befriended is doing fine which made them cry with tears of joy.
"Anyway, I'm gonna get some sleep, good night." Paul turned away but smiled softly. "Geez do they have to get emotional." But then again he had to expect that.
The next morning.
Paul, Hilda, and Barry waved the Ghost Pokemon good-bye. "I had a good night!" Barry cheered.
"I admit that night was little scary but it turned out well then I thought!" Hilda agreed with excitement.
"I suppose you're right." Paul muttered.
"What was that?" Barry asked playfully while putting his hand to his ear.
"Nothing, let's just go!" Paul mumbled. "After we need to get to Saffron City for my next Battle Frontier challenge!"
"Yeah!" Barry and Hilda cheered.
The trainers had a quite the night at Pokemon Tower, but now they're on their way to Saffron City for Paul's next challenge at the next Battle Frontier, what else will come on their journey, only time will tell.
End of chapter.
