Chapter 26: Return of the Champ Twins
Paul was at Route 8, gazing at the sky for a moment. "Tucker is the Tactician, I believe it's time to choose what Pokemon I'll use." He gave some deep thought in the past week after defeating Greta and the chat he had with Reggie. "Hmm..." He began to recall what he learned from Daisy.
F
"Can you tell me what Pokemon he used against Tucker?"
"Well, I heard he used his Swellow and Corpish, at first, they were almost overwhelmed and defeated by one of Tucker's strongest combinations. He is a brilliant tactician. Ash was flexible but his battling strategy needed little work and Tucker's tactic symbol is all about strategy when a person needs to think on their feet."
Paul had his eyes closed for a minute. "I see..."
F
Paul took out two Pokeballs. "Sounds like my choice is you two." Before he could call out his two Pokemon. He overheard some people making a racket from afar.
He walked towards the crowd of people. "What's going over there?" He squeezed through some people and saw a battle within the center.
There was a male and female trainer and the two were battling against two young boys who looked alike.
"Gallade use Focus Blast!" The female trainer commanded
"Gardevoir use Charge Beam on the Focus Blast!" The male trainer commanded.
Gallade powered up its Focus Blast and tossed it at its opponent's Pokemon. Then Gardevoir followed it up using Charge Beam which soon combined with the Focus Blast.
Paul was impressed at the combination attack.
"Feraligatr use Dragon Tail to send that Focus Blast back!"
The Big Jaw Pokemon swung its tail like a baseball bat and sent the electric focus blast right back.
"Gardevoir use Psychic attack on the entire field!"
"Oh no you don't! Typhlosion use Smokescreen!"
The Volcano Pokemon blew out black smoke that covered the spot where Gallade was which stopped it from using its psychic attack.
Gallade was also affected by the black smoke and coughing.
"Time to use Surf attack!"
Feraligatr summoned a large tidal wave which he used to surf towards the two Psychic Pokemon.
"Gallade use Thunderbolt on that Surf!"
Gallade charged up its electrical attack but before it could, Typhlosion appeared out of nowhere and was using Quick Attack. "Oh no!" The male trainer exclaimed.
"Use Flame Wheel with all your might!"
Typhlosion ran on all fours as its body was covered in a fiery wheel which collided against Gallede and was able to knock it right into Gardevoir.
"Feraligator, use Hydro Pump on them both while they're close to each other!"
Feraligatir released a strong pump of water from its mouth.
The scalding hot water soon soaked the two Psychic Pokemon sending them flying across the field.
Once, the attack was done, Gardevoir and Gallade were lying on the ground unconscious.
"Gardevoir and Gallade are unable to battle, Typhlosion and Feraligatr are the winners! The victors go to Bryan and Ryan!" A woman announced.
The two trainers recalled their Pokemon and were approached by the Champ Twins. "Your Pokemon were great." One of the trainers praised.
"You guys aren't half bad, so, brother, what winning streak is this?" Ryan asked.
"I believe this is our 16th win so far," Bryan replied with a confident smile.
The two other trainers took their Pokemon.
Paul had to admit their combination was good, perhaps, this could help him train and think of some new strategies for his battle.
"Anyone else wants to challenge us?" Bryan asked.
"I will," The crowd moved aside and Paul was approaching the twins.
Ryan was a bit surprised. "You're our next opponent, but, you're only one-" He paused when he realized something about the trainer. "Wait, I recognize you, you're the guy that battled Ash in the Sinnoh League!"
"Yeah, I saw your battling strategies, they were so amazing, sure, Ash countered well, but, you used amazing moves to help you beat Gliscor and Pikachu using Electvire!" Bryan added completely psyched up. "Also, you were able to trap Ash's Infernape once more!"
Paul didn't say a word. "Too bad you lost, but, you were amazing, normally, we would battle two trainers, but, perhaps, we can make an acceptance and have a Double Battle instead!" Bryan continued. "What do you say, brother?"
Ryan liked that idea. "I say, we're ready for another battle, a Double Battle, so, what do you say Paul?"
Paul didn't like the noisy stuff the twins were making but he decided to accept the battle anyway. "I say, bring it, it'll help me work on combinations for my upcoming battle against Tucker."
Ryan and Bryan smirked. "Sounds good!"
"Let's do this, once we beat you, this will be our 17th winning streak!"
Paul just gave a "hmph".
The three trainers took their places.
Paul was training battle against the Champ Twins was about to begin.
"Feraligatr go!"
"Typhlosion go!"
The two Johto region Pokemon got on the field and were ready for another battle.
Paul gave some quick thinking. "If that's the case." He took out two Pokeballs. "Torterra and Drapion!"
"Quite the combination, let's see what they can do, right!" Ryan asked his twin.
"You got it, bro. Feraligator Hydro Pump!" Byran commanded.
"Torterra Leaf Storm!" Paul commanded.
"Typhlosion, Flamethrower!" Ryan commanded.
"Drapion Cross Poison!"
Each attack from the four Pokemon made contact creating a powerful explosion releasing shockwaves.
Paul narrowed his eyes. "This is going to be harder than I thought."
Just then Cheren was walking by. "Is that Paul..." He looked at the purple-haired's opponents. "Twins...using two of the Johto Region's starter Pokemon, this should interesting." He decided to watch but didn't approach them.
Hilda was still at the Pokemon Center. She was looking up some information on her Poke map. "Looks like the next gym will be at Celedon City." She put her finger to her chin. "Looks like I'll need to decide which Pokemon to train for this next gym battle."
Daisy came with several sandwiches on a large plate. "Here, thought you'd want a snack, after all, we need the energy."
"Oh thanks, Daisy," Hilda said with a smile.
After chowing on a few sandwiches. "Daisy, do you know about the Celedon City's gym?"
Daisy was happy to answer. "Yes, the gym leader is named Erika and she uses grass-type Pokemon. She and Ash battled from what I remember. Though, she likely has trainers check out her perfume shop, however, if someone were to insult her or her shop, she won't take it lightly."
Hilda was a bit puzzled to hear that detail. "I don't understand."
Daisy should've expected that answer. "To put it simply, Erika takes pride in making perfume which comes from the plants that she studies. Therefore, she won't tolerate anyone that insults her love for nature or the aroma of perfume."
Hilda never knew how much pride gym leaders had in Kanto. "Anyway, I guess I'll check out her perfume shop if I have to, but, for now, I'll decide which Pokemon to use." She got up from her seat and walked away over to the center's communicator.

Paul's battle against the champ twins Bryan and Ryan was still underway.
"Feraligatr, use Slash!" Byran commanded.
"Fer!" The Big Jaw Pokemon charged with its left claw raised and the claw nails glowing white.
"Torterra use Stone Edge!" Paul commanded.
Torterra summoned countless stone edges and extended them toward Feraligatr which made a direct hit.
Paul didn't understand why Byran would just attack and leave himself wide open.
"Typhlosion, Quick Attack!" Ryan commanded.
Unexpectedly, the Volcano Pokemon jumped from behind Feraligatr's back in the air. "Uh oh!" Paul exclaimed in surprise.
"Quick Typhlosion use Flame Wheel!"
Typhlosion began to spiral around in a flaming wheel and collided with Torterra's head dealing super-effective damage. "Torterra!" The Continent Pokemon cried in pain.
With that, Typholision landed on the ground.
Cheren was quite impressed with the strategy. "Impressive, Typhlosion hid behind Feraligatr's back for a surprise and was able to land a hit on Torterra at close range."
"Drapion, use Pin Missile!" Drapion fired countless pin missiles.
"Feraligatr use Blizzard!" Paul gasped at the unexpected command.
The Big Jaw Pokemon unleashed a cold blizzard from its mouth freezing the pin missiles in mid-air and dropped to the ground shattering into pieces.
"Typhlosion, Lava Plume!" Typhlosion created an explosion scattering smog and fire to cover the area dealing massive damage to Torterra and Drapion.
Paul remembered this move. "This was just like the Tag Team Tournament." He knew that Feraligatr would feel little damage, but, not much since it was a water type. "However, this isn't over, Drapion use Toxic Spikes!"
Drapion unleashed purple energy in the sky and a toxic spike scattered on the battlefield.
Typhlosion and Feraligatr felt the poison inflicting damage to their bodies.
"Ahh!" Byran and Ryan exclaimed.
"Torterra sense where Feraligator and Typhlosion are and use Stone Edge!" Paul commanded.
The smoke and fire were still affected, though, Torterra summoned the countless stone edges and extended them forward to where he sensed two presences in the smoke. "Let's hope we land a hit before the two can recover."
The stone edges went further into the smoke and a sound of pain was heard from Typhlosion, which was sent rolling over and out of the smoke and laying on its stomach. "Typhlosion, you got to get up!" Ryan yelled lightly.
The Volcano Pokemon struggled to lift itself as it narrowed its eyes at Torterra for a second and fainted with dizzy eyes.
"Feraligatr quicky use Blizzard on the entire area!" Byran commanded.
"Drapion don't let it get the chance, Agility!" Drapion swiftly sped off at high speed and appeared right in front of the Big Jaw Pokemon. "Now grab it!" The Ogre Scorpion Pokemon grabbed the Big Jaw Pokemon's both of its arms tightly.
"Oh no!" Byran exclaimed as his water starter Pokemon was caught.
"Poison Fang!" Drapion's pincers released purple energy on Feraligatr's arms dealing massive damage and felt additional damage from the Toxic Spikes.
Feraligatr fell on its back with dizzy eyes.
"Feraligatr return." Byran returned his Pokemon to its Pokeball. "You did great, take a good rest."
Ryan went to his twin brother. "We did great, even though we lost." The twin looked and nodded his head in agreement. "Yes, Paul, your Pokemon were strong and in sync, in a Double Battle, that's what's important."
Paul approached the twins. "It was a great battle, though, I would like to ask a favor." The twins tilt their heads in wonder.
Cheren smiled impressively. "Well, Paul is more a thinker than I thought, I look forward to seeing how strong he becomes." He walked away his smile not leaving his face.
B
Hilda was at the pokeball transporter. "My Pokemon are here Professor Oak." The famous Kanto professor was on the screen. "Great, I wish you luck on your next gym battle." Hilda giggled and the screen went blank, then picked she picked up two Pokeballs she got from the Professor. "Thanks."
She looked at her two Pokeballs with determination. "I must be ready to battle Erika and her Pokemon, it'll be hard, but, I know I can do it."
Paul battles against the Champ twins and wins, now, he asks them for a favor(Likely, he'll want to train little more to come up with combinations). What will happen next, find out next time.
