"…So it turns out Lily-chan used to be called Masao-kun."
Sakura reveals this fact to everyone after she, Lily, Yugiri, Johnny and Gyro return. The five are standing before them sitting or kneeling on the futons with Lily in the center and Sakura herself standing beside her.
Their reaction is subdued compared to their own, but the look of surprises can be seen on their faces. Narancia is the exception, who shouted "WHAT!?" when he connected the dots and of course, Tae is excluded because she dozed up while sitting up.
While everyone remains silent, chuckling can be heard from Saki's mouth over the way Lily died. "D-Dying over some w-whiskers… Ha ha ha ha, that's the greatest thing I've ever heard…! Now that's 「legendary」!"
"Saki-chan!" Sakura glared at her for laughing at Lily's expense. This is shared between Yugiri, Kakyoin, Avdol, Bucciarati, and Gyro.
"This is no laughing matter, Saki." Bucciarati told her with a frown. "Please stop snickering."
Saki did not stop as she next says, "W-Wait, so what's your full name then, shrimpy?"
"Saki, don't push it." Gyro scolded her, sighing at her apparently finding humor in anything, even if it's a terrible or serious event.
Giving her a deadpanned look, Lily answers her. "「Masao Go」."
"Gyaaaahahahahahahaha! That's so butch!" She laughs harder, slapping her knee. "It's like… the most macho name I ever heard! Wait, what about pops? What about pops!?"
"Saki-han…" Yugiri growled, wanting to slap her for her mischievous behavior.
"…「Takeo Go」."
"EYAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Saki can't contain her laughter anymore as she rolls sideways, clutching her stomach with her face full of mirth. "T-That's totally h-him! T-That is exactly his name!"
"Honestly Saki… I hope you exercise caution when dealing with someone else's personal issues that they are uncomfortable with…" Johnny puts his face on his face, obviously not liking her prodding.
"I hate you, Saki-chaaaan!" Lily shouted to the laughing woman.
"Sorry, sorry. R-Really, I am!" Saki said between laughter.
"…I have to say, this is a bit of a surprise." Mamezuku earnestly stated. Junko, Avdol and Kakyoin remain silent but their eyes and mouth are wide open out of astonishment. Since they all come from a time when people coming out is not yet universally accepted, they are processing who Lily used to be.
"Right with you there, Rai," remarked Narancia. "I, or we, never suspected Lily used to be a boy. I am… finding it so hard to believe."
Sending a disapproving look to Saki, Ai speaks up regarding this development. "So, what happens now?"
Letting a smile appear, Lily gives her, and everyone, a straightforward answer. "「Lily is still Lily」, and that's who I'm always going to be. Zombies don't grow, after all! So I've got nothing to worry about."
"Lily-chan…" Sakura gives her a sympathetic look. Despite the circumstances that led to her untimely death, she sees Lily will always be true to herself and try not to let her past bring her down.
"So wait. Did he know?" Ai asked everyone, referring to Kotaro. It is likely he must have known who Lily is, considering he revived them and all. Wanting to hear it from his mouth, everyone goes to his office and promptly asks him if he knew all along.
"Hell yeah I knew."
Kotaro confirms with a straight face, strumming a guitar while wearing a nightcap. He's still wearing his suit even at this time of night. While Lily is surprised that he actually knew all along but kept quiet about it because he accepted who she wants to be, the rest let out sighs of exasperation due to this difficult man, some of them outright glaring at him for hiding the info to them.
…
…
"Teehee!" Kotaro sticks his tongue out with a goofy face in response.
"I'm seriously gonna kill you, man!" Saki leaned her race close to him with angry eyes, believing Kotaro has a stupid reason for concealing the info from them.
"Are you playing some kind of game here?" Kakyoin exclaimed, out of protectiveness to Lily and irritation to Kotaro.
"WHAT?! Is Masao Go not allowed in your girly idol group anymore?!" He shouts back, genuinely offended by their assertions.
"I am not Masao anymore! My name is Lily!" Lily corrects him.
"That's right! She is Lily, not Masao! The rest of you are Masao, and I'm Lily!" He engages in another of his usual shtick to the ticked-off zombies. "BESIDES! You girls have a gig tomorrow! If you've got time to waste on tired ass questions, maybe you should go to bed, you bunch of morooooons!"
Slamming the door shut after throwing Sakura and Tae out, everyone stands there for a while, staring at the door. Then Johnny breaks the silence with his own sarcasm. "Well, that was something."
"So Tatsumi knew who Lily was, but did not mind it," Bucciarati summed up the intention behind his response. "I believe he made the right move in not fussing over Lily's identity."
"That's… surprisingly mature of him." Ai commented.
The group returns to the living room where Lily decides to turn in for the night first. Once she is sleeping soundly, with a pleasant smile on her face, everyone stares at her. They now know Lily's secret and are all wondering what to make of it.
"Lily is so cute," muttered Junko. "I'm surprised we never noticed in spite of how close we've all been together…"
"Heh, I guess even the most astute analysts never suspected it before all this." Avdol replied, turning to his fellow Stand Users who are some of the best analysts he has known, himself included.
"Ah, who cares! Doesn't matter what kinda junk she's got." Saki starts expressing her honest thoughts.
"J-Junk…" The shy girl blushes at the mention of a man's genitals as Saki continues speaking. "Besides, all of us still awake in this time of night are zombies."
"It honestly makes me wonder what exactly zombies are," admitted Gyro. "I already knew this trait about us but… To think we will never be going to age…"
"…You're right," Sakura concedes his point. "Lily-chan is going to 「stay」 as Lily-chan. And none of us are ever going to 「change」, because we're all zombies…"
"Never going to change, huh?" Kakyoin repeated. He recounts what Bucciarati and Narancia told them about Polnareff's fate. He and Avdol are a bit saddened and shocked to hear he is killed at the hands of Passione's former ruthless boss who housed two separate consciousness, even more so when they learn Polnareff lost his legs and right eye after his first, deadly encounter with Diavolo and his time-skipping Stand, King Crimson. The last time the two saw him, his soul survives through inhabiting Coco Jumbo's Mr. President, an object-bound Stand similar to the sphere in the group's van. While Bucciarati is not sure if Polnareff is taken in by Giorno since he has no way to go after nearly dying, he has every belief Polnareff is safe within the reformed Passione under Giorno's rule.
Also, this is where Narancia learned that Bucciarati actually died at Diavolo's hand and that he was able to live past through his death temporarily as an undead thanks to Gold Experience. He is distraught Bucciarati kept it a secret from him, Mista, Abbacchio and Trish, with Giorno being the only person Bruno relayed his status to him, but after he tells him that he shouldn't worry for him anymore because they are revived, Narancia takes the revelation in stride. To him, he is happy to be living again after his abrupt death which he also learned from him.
Once everyone has relaxed, they soon turn in for the night, being alright to accept who Lily Hoshikawa is, zombie or not.
Takeo Go could not accept that Franchouchou's Number Six is not his deceased daughter. He wanted to accept that she is actually one and the same. But, the tiniest bit of doubt within him reins him in with the fact that dead people don't ever come back to the living. Number Six's appearance being uncannily the same as his daughter could be a coincidence out of guilt, sadness and, while faint, hopefulness.
Maybe… Maybe he is overthinking it.
There are rare cases of people having the same appearance, unrelated to being a twin. Despite knowing this though, Takeo cannot shake the feeling off that Number Six is Masa- No… She's Lily Hoshikawa.
Right now, Takeo is sitting before the shrine that has two pictures of his deceased wife and daughter with an incense and two unlit candles placed before the pictures. As he is busy ruminating before the shrine, he suddenly remembers and hears many conversations he had with Lily.
"Look at this! We got top ratings!" He told a sleeping Lily while sitting on a couch, looking over the ratings written on a paper he was holding. He wore a vest and blue necktie as he looked at the paper with a prideful smile. "That means you amazed a ton of people!"
A second one has him watching an interview for Lily on TV, again sitting on a couch together with a sleeping Lily. "There you go Lily. That's the way, keep at it…" He spoke to Lily, not the one sleeping beside him but the one on the television. He ignored his tired daughter calling out for him as he continued watching. "Aw, the camera was slightly off for that look you gave…"
"…I want the two of us to go out sometimes." Lily told her father, looking at him with prominent eyebags.
"…You want to go out?" Takeo replied to her like it's a new concept to him.
"I wanna go to Kouno Park again. With you." She pleaded.
"Sounds good," he is still watching the TV as he replies while ignoring what Lily wanted for the both of them. "We can go when the filming for the show that airs next season is done."
If only he realized how neglectful he became when he wanted Lily to become the top actress prodigy, he could have paid attention that he was overworking her to the point she became tired and sleepy during the day. He regretted not seeing how much it pained Lily that all he was focused on was working on the set this, act this scene out that, while neglecting her own needs, both physically and mentally. So many thoughts were running that day as he stood before her daughter's corpse lying on a gurney with a sheet covering her body except her head. If not for the presence of candles and other funeral objects, he would have thought Lily is sleeping, which would have been a better outcome aside from death from heart attack and mental shock, caused by an incredible mental distress that plagued Lily before she died.
Ever since Lily was gone from this world, watching the TV was never quite the same without Lily calling him "Pappy!" beside him. He knows he is at fault for causing Lily's death but there is nothing he can do to change that. Weep and regret all he wants, he can never bring Lily back, and not even a lookalike can help abate his anguished heart. For this, he gave himself a long scar lining the left side of his face running down his left eye as he cried before lifting the TV and, with a crying shout, destroyed it by throwing it against the wall.
That part of the wall is hastily covered with many tapes because Takeo did not bother fixing it. To him, it will always be there as a reminder of the sorrow he felt after Lily is buried.
"I understand… I know that girl can't be Masao." Takeo tells himself, using her original name. It seems like starting tonight, he wants to forget the resemblance between Number Six and Lily. With this thought in mind, he wants to see Number Six and, as much as it pains him, moves past the hopeful thought that his deceased daughter is her.
Franchouchou and Rianima are currently stationed in Gofukumachi Community Spot Plaza 656. Currently, fans are lined up to meet up with their favorite idols, closely watched by Rianima so that there won't be a second incident about a fan touching the girls. Saki was told not to interfere when one fan breaks the rules and Rianima stops them because Kotaro wants them to be an idol group who has no penchant for violence. Well, how can you do that when you have Tae willing to bite other people? They're lucky that they are not being looked at suspiciously every time it happens and that they try to tell white lies about what just came over Number Zero.
Speaking of rule breaking, everyone becomes wary when Takeo Go's turn is next and stands before Lily. He has a sad look on his face as he stares down upon the smiling star of Franchouchou. "Hello there! Sorry about the other day," she apologized on Franchouchou and Rianima's behalf. "The others didn't mean anything bad by it."
"Nah, that was my fault," Takeo admitted, feeling genuinely at fault for touching her yesterday. Deciding to pick up a T-shirt, he asks, "Let's see, can I get a T-shirt?"
"Sure! But I don't think it'll fit for you." She tells him about his huge build not fitting even the L-sized shirt. "You go about 5XL, right?"
"I'm impressed you can tell." Takeo noted.
"Ah! W-We have lots of different fans, so I can tell!" Lily quickly responded.
"I see," he accepted her response. "But I actually want an extra small one."
"Eh?" An… extra small one?
"You see, I used to have a kid who was about your age," he starts telling her about his "deceased" daughter. "But… I was a bad father… I was so focused on myself I wasn't able to care for them properly. Is your dad a nice man?"
Trying to maintain the façade that she doesn't know her own father, Lily says, "Yeah! You- I-I mean, Dad's really nice! Really, really nice!"
Despite smiling as she gives Takeo the extra small T-shirt wrapped neatly in plastic, Sakura wonders if Lily realizes what her father wants to tell her that he regrets becoming neglectful for her own needs when she was still with him. An empathetic look was on her face as she watched their interaction. "Sorry for scaring you so badly before. 「I won't come back again」."
"Huh?" Lily is taken aback by his statement.
"I just wanted to apologize for what happened," he said at last. "Goodbye now."
Takeo takes his leave, unaware of Lily's surprise that, if he stays true to what he said to her, Pappy will never see her again. It's like his daughter is dead and he won't be able to be by her side from now on. Lily wants to stop him, but words did not come out from her mouth, so surprised by what she heard from her father. He was smiling and seemed okay when he told her that, but not her.
"Lily-chan, are you…?" Sakura tried asking her out of empathy.
"I-I'm totally fine!" Despite her insistence, Sakura can see Lily is affected by his words. She decides to have a talk with her after the meet-and-greet is done and they return home.
However, she is not the only one who wants to talk with her, as Bucciarati, Johnny, Gyro and Mamezuku watched Takeo leave the plaza.
The sun is starting to set by the time everyone heads home. Sakura, Bucciarati, Johnny, Gyro and Mamezuku enter the living room where Lily is alone, sitting on the couch with a downcast look. They have every intention of talking with Lily about what Takeo told her that he will not see her again after apologizing for the other day, and for becoming so neglectful to her when she achieved stardom on TV.
While Lily is not sure what the four boys are doing here, she guesses Sakura is finding her so that they can go practice for the next concert. "Oh. We better get to practice, huh?"
"It's okay," Sakura starts speaking. "Everyone agreed you should take a break for today."
"All of us can tell you're worried if your father never wants to see you again," Bucciarati told her. "Please do not hide what you truly feel from us. We want to make sure if you are fine letting things be the way it is from now on."
"Since I used to have a daughter and a son, what your father said to you really upset me," Johnny stated, knowing from experience. He did not dare neglected them and his wife, Rina Higashikata, as he loved them ever since he got married and bore two children, but recalling Lily's story about her Pappy becoming neglectful as he pushed her to work hard in a cutthroat entertainment industry surely hits too close to home for him, both as a son of an abusive father and a father. "While you may not be my daughter, my experience as a father lets me see that you're not fine with the unknowing talk to your Pappy."
"Hope you don't mind the four of us joining Sakura to have a talk," Gyro hoped. "I think all of us had problems related to our fathers that we hope we can share with you."
"Why do you say that?"
"So that we let you know that you're not alone." Mamezuku said kindly, standing in stark contrast to his cold and aloof demeanor that is slowly, but surely, being melted by just being with everyone. That's not to say he's a heartless person, but he is aware he gives off that impression due to his upbringing.
This fact is brought up by Bucciarati, who says, "Never thought I would hear you say that, Mamezuku."
"Nor will you be joining us to talk with Lily and Sakura." Added Johnny.
"Well, at least you decided to join us out of the kindness in your heart," Gyro smiles at his second student in the art of Spin. "Or is it empathy?"
Rai nods to them, stating, "That's what matters here. Please do not mind it."
Looking at the four as she takes a seat beside Lily, Sakura decides to ask them about their fathers. "Um, if you four are willing, can you tell us about your own fathers? And… How did your relationship with them go?"
While Bucciarati and Johnny are feeling heavy and reluctant at the thought, they decide to tell them so the two can understand what it's like to have problems related to their fathers or being a father. Gyro and Mamezuku need some convincing since they want to keep it private, but they change their mind when the two and Sakura manage to convince them.
For Bucciarati, it's how he chose to accompany his father who works as a fisherman instead of going to the city with his divorced mother for a chance of proper education. Because of his selfless decision, Bucciarati is able to stop two drug dealers who intended to silence him when he witnessed their drug dealing and was visiting the hospital to finish him off during his sleep by killing them in cold blood. He would soon join Passione soon after for protection while his father died from complications of the surgery five years later. However, he soon learned that the organization was dealing with drugs, which led his father to his death, causing his trust to the old Passione to be shaken that would soon shatter when he witnessed the former Boss' intention of killing his own daughter to keep his identity a secret.
For Johnny, he tells them, with a heavy heart, how his father was abusive to him, ordering him to kill his own pet mouse Danny (Gyro is amused by this, prompting everyone to stop him from making a joke, which he has no intention of and feels offended they even considered it), which becomes worse when his brother Nicholas died during a horse riding practice and he got a fight with him that ended him crashing against a mirror, the shards stabbing his neck. He then heard him saying, "God, you took the wrong son," causing him to sever ties with him. Fortunately, his father eventually realized how abusive he was to him and apologized, and while he believes he will not be forgiven by Johnny himself due to the emotional scars he inflicted on him that may never or take a long time to heal, hearing it from his mouth calms Johnny's heart down and helped mended their relationship, if only a little.
For Gyro, it's about his father being strict and cold to him as he serves to be a royal executioner for the Kingdom of Naples, following in his footsteps while being told not to let sentimentality get in the way of his duty for the kingdom. It is because of this that his father never once gave him gifts or compliments, scolding him for making a mistake related to his duties as an executioner and showing any sense of sentimentality that he wanted him not to let it get over his head. For all that is said though, Gyro never hated him because he respected him and took in his teachings about the Spin and uncertainties in life, using a "tennis ball over a net" metaphor, of which whether a ball lands on either side of the net means that success or failure is likely in any scenario.
Lastly, Mamezuku tells everyone about how he blamed his parents for their carelessness that led their cultivating techniques leaked, leading to a competitor connected to local money lenders stealing an entire crop of pears and bringing down fruit trees. For this reason, Mamezuku decides to live alone and cultivate his own techniques while being aware of potential enemies that will show itself. Despite this, he, like Gyro, never hated his parents since he attended his father's funeral when he was killed during a typhoon, revealed to be a calamity caused by a Stand disguising itself as an old man, Wonder of U, which he regretted telling his father about the strange insect lurking in the pear orchard which caused his death, even if it's not his fault entirely.
After hearing each of their own stories, Sakura and Lily are both saddened to hear how their problems with their own fathers went and ended. They are touched by Bucciarati's kindness of staying by his father's side even in deathbed, appalled by Johnny's father being abusive to him which thankfully didn't carried over to his own child, conflicted over how they felt regarding Gyro's father being strict to him and felt pity to Mamezuku's predicament after his parents made a tragic mistake and died as a result of calamity. Sakura now has a better understanding of the four Stand Users after hearing their backstories. She wanted to say something to comfort them after they told her their own stories that they wish to stay buried within their minds but they told her that they are fine. Still, they are touched by her compassion who only wanted to see her friends be happy and cheerful, in their own way.
Lily is not sure if their backstories help comfort her. The way she sees this, their own issue with their father sounds a bit heavier than her own. Bucciarati disagreed, telling her, "You have it worse than us, Lily. We only told you our backstories concerning our fathers because we empathize with you."
"Our problems may be different, but the feeling of alienation from our fathers will never change," Gyro supported. "If anything, it did affect us to become what we wanted to be in the end, for good or bad."
"Hmm… Maybe I'd be better off if I didn't remember anything," Lily looks at Sakura with mournful eyes. "Like you, Bucciarati-san, Johnny-san and Mamezuku-san. And also you, Sakura-chan."
"No, please don't think that," Sakura shakes her head. "It's because you remembered your dad, and he remembered you, that you're able to understand how you really feel."
Hearing her words, Lily decides to speak out what she truly thought after she had a talk with Takeo. "Pappy… He… He loved me this entire time…" Tears started brimming in her eyes as the truth came crashing down on her to give her a dose of regret and sadness that she may never take back as long as she is a zombie. "And I… And I…"
She wanted to say "And I tried to forget him," or "And I thought he was ignoring what I wanted for myself and between the both of us." Most likely, it's "And I wanted to tell him that I forgive him." But these statements never come as she starts crying her tears out, hugging Sakura for comfort as she wipes her flowing tears on her clothes. Sakura did not mind it, knowing she wanted someone, anyone, to comfort her in her moment of distress. She feels like wanting to cry out too, but she holds it in as she continues hugging the poor kid until she's done weeping.
The four aren't left out as Bucciarati and Johnny join in hugging Lily, with Johnny even rubbing her hair soothingly like he is calming his own daughter down. While Gyro and Mamezuku did not join, they stay close to her, unwilling to leave her alone because they know the feeling of regret they have when they leave their own fathers, one that they, too, will never make up with.
By the time Lily calms down, the sun has disappeared in the horizon. Everyone joins up with the rest in the shed to discuss how they deal with Lily wanting to at least apologize to Takeo without exposing her true identity to him, as much as it pains her.
"There might be people we know who're torn up about what happened, too." Saki commented. She wonders how Dorami is doing these days. She hopes that they are going strong after her death.
Why can't I remember…? Sakura wondered. She recalls the vision she has about her cheering for an idol group that has the living Ai in the center leading the four other girls. That view is the only thing I remember… but when and where is it from?
As if sensing her continuing battle against amnesia, Ai turns to her and asks, "Is something wrong?"
"Ah! No, it's nothing! S-Sorry!" She exclaimed.
"…Is it your amnesia again, Sakura?" Kakyoin does not believe her so he guesses what she is troubled at. "Still unable to remember anything aside from your brief flash of memories, huh?"
Before he and Ai continue, Saki expresses her frustration of the possible bad ending done to Lily and her pappy. "Y'know, leavin' this as-is sucks too bad!"
"What else can I do? I'm a zombie now." Lily reminded her with a forlorn expression as she looked down to the floor. Sakura disagrees, stating to her, "No, there might still be a way. Let's think about it."
"Sakura-chan…"
"I think the answers are already clear," Johnny said. Looking at him smiling at the two and the rest of the girls, he next says, "And this is what Franchouchou is best at."
"We are not much help here due to our jobs differing from you girls," Avdol says. "But it will not sit right to me if all of us didn't contribute even a little.
"Johnny-san and Avdol-san are right," Junko agreed with a smile. "There is something that we, and only we, can do."
"But first, we've gotta talk to him." Ai refers to Kotaro agreeing with Franchouchou's plan in helping Lily indirectly make up with Takeo.
"I'm sure he'll agree with you girls," stated Narancia. "Annoying he can be, I don't think he has it in him to be callous to Lily wanting to reconcile with her dear father. Or Pappy as she likes to refer to him as."
And so, after Kotaro readily agrees with the girls to help Lily put to rest her reconciliation with her father, Franchouchou is hard at work to make a song dedicated for both Lily and Takeo. Kotaro plays the melody on the piano with Romero accompanying him, Franchouchou and Rianima write down the lyrics of the song and the girls practice their dance moves and perform in the shed. For this part, Lily is determined to make the song she wrote the best she can ever make as possible, for this is the song that she hopes will put to rest Takeo's and her own conflicting feelings about their strained relationship.
Even if she may never reveal her true identity to him, Takeo Go will always be Lily's dear "Pappy" for as long as she exists.
It's time for Franchouchou's night concert taking place in Gofukumachi Community Spot Plaza 656 as the audience cheers for the girls while clapping their hands. For this concert, Franchouchou is wearing a different costume for the debut of their new song. While the girls each wear pale blue shirt with wing decorations printed on the front and a star hanging on the part where the wings connect that doesn't cover their midriffs, leaving it exposed, skirt held up by a darker ribbon, thin neck straps with colors matching each girls, and yellow hair ties which gives them twin pigtails, Lily has a different costume befitting her part as the lead singer. She wears a pale yellow shirt with puffy short sleeves, black vest with white line edges around it, the straps and four pointed ends secured by orange buttons, red bowtie and pleated skirt with white lines, and knee-high brown boots with tied up shoelaces. Her bright blue hair is also tied up in a ponytail.
Holding a microphone, Lily was paying attention to the crowd, hoping to see Takeo's huge form among the average-sized people. This is her only chance to make up with her father, so she is worried if he decided to stick with his words from now on.
Aside from the metalhead duo and the elegant man, Takeo is not seen. This is confirmed by Rianima, with Kakyoin and Bucciarati shaking their heads from the sidelines to confirm.
"It's almost time…" Sakura informed with a frown. "Do you think he will come?"
"We've done everything we can." Ai said. It appears to be the case as Lily looks down sadly, thinking their act will be done without Pappy around…
But, hurried pounding footsteps thankfully proved her wrong.
Sure enough, the man himself, Takeo Go, arrives after running himself ragged reaching the plaza. The run merely inconvenienced him as he panted from the exercise. In his hand, a crumpled paper which announces Franchouchou's concert done by Lily can be seen. Takeo picked it up from the trash bin after initially refusing to watch their new act. But second thoughts prevailed and here he was, looking at Number Six and the girls.
Unknown to him, Rianima smiled at his arrival, and Lily did the same along with the girls.
"Pappy!" She exclaimed.
Now that Takeo has arrived, Ai gestured to Saki to start the pre-show announcement much to the audience's cheers. "Okay everyone, we've got a new song for you all, tonight! Main vocals will be by shrimpy!"
"Saki-chan! Not shrimpy!" Sakura scolded her for choosing the nickname in her announcement.
"I mean, by Number Six!" She soon corrected herself.
"YEEEAAAAHHHHH!" The audience cheered, including the gothic man, who they know to always seemed to choose Sakura during fan meetups, as he clapped in lieu of shouting, except for Takeo. Kotaro watches from the sidelines with Avdol and Mamezuku as Lily says, "Please listen to our newest song… 「To My Dearest」."
BGM: To My Dearest
Piano and violin tunes fill the plaza with its calming and gentle melody as the girls walk past the back-turned Lily in synchronicity. Once it reaches the intro, Lily turns around and starts singing.

The girls continue dancing as Lily walks forward to say some sentences to the listening audience. Little do they know however, that she is speaking directly to Takeo in the back, who is slowly realizing that the song could be directed to him. This is further supported by what Lily says.
"I'm really happy that you came out here to see our show! I've always had a passion for TV, though. That's why I'm gonna work hard to be on-screen a lot! And when you see me there, I hope it makes you smile! I can't tell you how much it means to me to look out there and see you. I promise I won't forget you! And… I love you!"

Lily performs a curtsy as the song trails off in the end. While the audience are clapping their hands and cheering over the soothing song filled with heartwarming lyrics, none of them are as stunned as Takeo, who had teared up from how much the song and Number Six's performance hit so close to him, but in a bittersweet way. Before he and Lily know it, they both reminisce about all the good times they had, like making a desert together which he almost botched because he keeps cracking the eggs prematurely due to his strength, having Lily sit on his lap using an excavator and carrying her on his shoulders as they walk under the cherry blossom trees and its falling petals.
Looking at the two, Franchouchou, Rianima and Kotaro know that they have reconciled. This is an outcome they have wanted and all of them couldn't be any happier.
"What you wanna get today, Amamoto-san?" The same wild-haired man asked his boss as usual when lunch time came.
"Sicilian rice bowl." He replied while turning on the TV using a remote. The employer commented that it's the same food every time. Just then, a chair audibly creaks as the one who sat speaks up in a contented tone.
"I think I'll have a chicken udon." Takeo tells him with a smile, leaning his arms on the table.
"Eh!? You're gonna eat here today, Go-san?!" He exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah."
The two never complained about the welcome surprise and change from Takeo. If anything, they are actually glad to have one of their own have lunch with them at the same table.
As everyone eats their lunch, the TV changes to a Drive-In Tori commercial showing Franchouchou in chicken costumes dancing and singing a jingle, with Cocco-san and three unlucky guests being shown chased by Number Zero.
"These girls are really funny." Amamoto remarked about Franchouchou and the commercial.
"For real! I cracked up when I first saw it, especially at the end." The wild-haired man agreed walking close to the table.
Takeo did not listen to them as he watched the commercial. While he is smiling from the start, that smile becomes firm when Number Six shows up on the screen. He may never know that she was actually his daughter brought back to life as a zombie, who has to use makeup to disguise herself as a living human, but he has moved past his daughter's untimely death. He is now looking forward to the present and thinking of attending Franchouchou's next concert.
These three are focused on the commercial that they did not notice Hierophant Green slipping under the crack of the door as it returned to its user. Well, it's not like they will be seeing it considering they are not Stand Users.
"So, how is he?" Bucciarati asks Kakyoin after Hierophant Green disperses within its user. He was with him, Johnny and Gyro visiting the workplace Takeo is working in after they found where he is employed. They are thankful for Kotaro letting them surveil him as per Lily's wish to see if Takeo's going to be okay, borrowing his van.
Smiling, Kakyoin answers, "I believe Lily wouldn't have to worry anymore. Her Pappy is smiling and doing fine. I think our job here is done."
"That's good to hear." Johnny nodded with a smile.
"Okay. Let's go home," said Gyro. "Can't let Franchouchou's little stardust wait."
Kakyoin lets out a laugh when Spin Cowboy refers to Lily as the rejected name for Franchouchou. "I never thought I would hear that name from your mouth, Gyro-san."
"Hey, you know it really fits her. And besides, you're the one who coined that name, right?"
"If I did, I sure don't remember," joked Kakyoin, all of them glad Takeo has moved on and smiling for possibly the first time in his life. If there is a chance that the two can properly reunite, the world doesn't know. But what the world knows is that they will love each other, forever and ever.
A star has many years to live, after all.
"Hopefully, this includes our part in the Drive-In Tori commercial that I unfortunately saw broadcasted on TV." He frowned at that part. Bucciarati and Gyro also frowned, hoping they don't remember their unwilling participation forced by Kotaro.
"Great. You just have to remind us, huh?" Gyro sighed.
"Well, at least I find it entertaining and funny." Johnny remarked with a chuckle.
"Not for us, signor Johnny." Bucciarati glared at him, as the four left the area.
To be continued
*sniffs* *sniffs* Every time I listen to this song, I wanted to cry. Dammit, it's so heartwarming, yet sad at the same time... It's perhaps because of this that I've written this chapter so well and did it justice, and I rank Lily as another one of my favorite zombie idols. Her backstory is just... just... j-just... *begins to weep*
Um, if you'll excuse me, I want to cry my tears out in the corner. I'll see you next chapter.
