Chapter 70: Joint training Part 3.
It was time for the final confrontation of the day. Team A were discussing their plans.
"Ok, does anyone here have a plan?" Minoru asked.
"There is no need for trickery. My vines, while limited, can grow to tremendous lengths. I will capture everyone we come across."
"Shiozaki-san, we will not grow as heroes if you do all the work. The goal of this training is to promote teamwork."
"Very well." Vine girl frowned. "I am listening."
"You better, extra!" Hitoshi put off his mask. "Sorry. I thought a practical demonstration would be the best choice."
"Does brainwashing still work when use this thing?"
"Of course! Otherwise it would be useless to me."
"Mineta-kun, I'm curious." Tsuyu turned to him. "Why do your balls never stick to your costume?"
"My hero suit is made out of my hair. It was a pain to get enough of it when my head looks the way it looks."
"Does this mean if I were to wear your gloves, I could touch your balls without a worry?" Frog girl asked calmly.
Everyone but Shiozaki tried really hard not to laugh, as she was ready to slap anyone who found that funny.
"Ye-Yeah, I suppose you could." The grape boy fixed up his belt with M in its front.
"I kind of miss his ridiculous diaper." Jirou snickered.
"I can pinpoint everyone's location in 3 km radius. If they are talking, I might even be able to tell the exact person." She proudly raised her jacks.
"Shishida can do that as well, although he relies on sense smell."
"I have an idea how to throw him off, kero. Promise me you will not throw up."
"Shiozaki is by far the most powerful student in our class." Jurota claimed. "We will most likely have to play by her rules until she's taken care of. I senses will pinpoint her location, then we'll try to neutralize her. Her vines are powerful, but she is subpar in close quarters combat."
"Is it really fair that we have to fight her?" Denki complained. "Why couldn't we have someone really good on our team? Like Juzo or Momo."
"At least you got me and not Shinsou." Kosei tried to lighten up the mood.
"Don't give up so quickly!" Mina jumped in joy. "I'll melt whatever plants she throws our way."
"If I see an opening, I will try to get to her as fast as possible." Tenya said.
"What about the others?"
"Midori told me that Shinsou can mimic other voices." Ashido did a blah blah gesture. "I'd say we either try not to respond to commands verbally." She showed thumbs down. "Until he's taken care of, we use simple hand gestures or talk while we see each other mouths, okay?" The girl covered her mouth.
"Okay."
"You were supposed to answer with a gesture!"
Team A moved forward to establish a stronghold closer to the center of the "city". On their way there the students saw the molten street and felt relief over not fighting Todoroki. Earphone Jack could hear the other team approaching, so she told Maria to start spreading her quirk. It only took Ibara one minute to cover the neighboring blocks with vines. Team A got close to the border between her domain and the rest of the area.
"Crap! Be careful, everyone! If we touch them, she'll attack us instantly." Denki warned his teammates.
"I have an idea." Tsuburaba started making platforms on the air. "I can't make us fly, but I can make us walk above the ground."
"Why didn't use this before?" Iida wondered.
"I was kind of busy trying not to eat rockets."
"Touché"
"Wait!" Mina grabbed her teammates' attention. "Kyoka can hear us, I think. Someone has to stay behind and make noise to try and throw her off."
"I sense three Asuis coming our way." Gevaudan pointed in a specific direction. "At least, they all smell like Asui."
"Perfect. If we get them and retreat, we'll win!" Kosei smiled.
"And let two villains escape? That is not…"
"Look out!" Jurato pushed Tenya away from a sticky ball.
The one who threw the ball wasn't Grape Juice. It was Froppy! She wore his boots, gloves and used his cape to as a bag. Kosei began constructing a wall to block her off. Minoru himself appeared on the opposite side to harass his opponents with Pop Off. Some balls got on team A. Pinky had to prioritize removing them with acid. While this was happening, the 1B giant gestured his classmate to shoot an electricity absorbing disk into a window. The boy complied with the order. As soon as it happened, everyone could hear Kaminari's voice screaming from pain.
Frog girl was fast, but brown haired boy managed to predict her next move and construct a wall right in front of her. She tried to stand up, but recently freed Ingenium rushed in to knock her out. Mineta took a look at his teammates and laughed.
"What's so funny? You are outnumbered." Gen Ed kid prepared to blow again.
"Are you sure?"
Team B looked around and saw that Shiozaki's vines surrounded them from all sides. She must have moved closer to them when they were distracted. They all got attacked by her quirk from all directions. Mina unleashed her most corrosive acid to fend off the vines.
"Mina-chan! *Cough* Please, help." Tsuyu's hurt voice pleaded.
"Sure, where…" Alien girl got brainwashed.
"Attack your teammates!" Disguised Hitoshi sounded like he's about to die.
Gevaudan got hit in his legs by acid. When Ingenium tried to help him, he received to kick to the head from Mineta. Tsuburaba's walls got crushed by the Ibara. It painfully reminded him of a certain old Pro Hero. Team B captured their opposition, albeit with casualties on their side.
"Our plans was simple: I help Shiozaki navigate her quirk to attack all of you from a safe distance. The other three had to distract you; otherwise you would get wise and retreat."
"I wholeheartedly apologize for using involving myself in my team's trickery." Maria bowed before her defeated opponents. A ray of divine light fell on her person.
"Is that a quirk too?" Izuku wondered.
"There is no need to apologize." Tenya did his iconic hand motion despite the headache. "You've successfully captured the opposing team. You should be proud of your accomplishments."
"I agree." Hawks patted the girl on the shoulder. "In the end of the day, capturing bad guys and saving innocent lives is what matters the most. You did exceptionally well today, Shiozaki. The way use you attack multiple opponents from afar reminds me of my own style."
"We should also commend other students' efforts. Young Shinso was able to trick young Ashido after receiving a blast of electricity."
"I got incredibly lucky that my mask didn't short circuit and that Asui got hurt too. Otherwise, they probably would have caught on."
"Eh, right." Hitoshi awkwardly nodded.
"Young Tsuburaba, you did a solid job protecting your team from Froppy's onslaught. If Grape Juice didn't share his balls with her, you could have completely sealed him off." The hero raised the Gen Ed students' arms. "Keep at it and next year you might be transferred to his course."
"Thank you, sir."
"Now, don't get upset just because you lost." Winged hero said. "It's better to lose here, in a safe environment, than to do it in the field. The failure here is the opportunity to learn, but in the real world it will be a costly mistake. Your Provisional license exam will be a case of real world, so try not to fail there. UA has standards to uphold, after all."
Mineta's costume pieces were torn due to Asui body being too large for them. He had to bring it to Power Loader to fix it. The exploding door didn't hurt him, as by that time it was common knowledge and his reactions were hones by fear of being kicked by Gran Torino.
Kosei discovered that his has a bondage fetish after getting restrained by Ibara's vines. Now he had to find out how to make the most religious person he knows go on a date with him.
