Chapter 73: License Exam Part 0

Class 1A arrived to the Provisional License Test center. After practicing for weeks, coming up with ultimate moves and cooperating with with their sister class, they more than ready to crush this assignment.

"I have to say, I'm not sure I can handle this." Kyoka said.

"It's not a matter of being sure or not. You WILL do get that license." Shota answered her.

"*Sigh* Yes, sir."

"Eraser!" A cheerful voice sent shivers down the underground hero's spine.

Students saw a woman with green hair and smiling faces on her uniform. She confidently marched towards their homeroom teacher.

"Shota, I haven't seen you for a long time. You are even shier than before. Are the mask and cloak really necessary?" She poked fun at her old friend.

Izuku sneezed as he was wearing them as well.

"Midoriya, who is this?" Shouji asked his VP.

"Smiling hero: Miss Joke. Real name is Emi Fukukado. Her quirk can force people to laugh uncontrollably."

"Marry me."

"No."

The exchange between Pro Heroes caused the students to giggle, as laughter would likely cause issues with Aizawa.

"Plus Ultra!" A tall student from another school approached them.

He wore the uniform of Shiketsu High.

"It's a great honor to see UA students in person!" He bowed down so hard that his head audibly crashed against the ground.

"Shut up, Loudmouth!" Bakugo screamed at him.

"You need to chill, dude." A girl with the same uniform told him from.

"Right! I apologize for causing you discomfort!" The boy stood up, his forehead still bleeding. "My name is Inasa Yoarashi!"

"Camie Utsushimi." The blonde girl showed the peace sign.

"Piss off! We don't have time to for losers like you!" The blond boy yelled.

"Bakugo, you are giving us a bad name." Yaoyorozu intervened. "Apologies on behalf of our class"

Just as 1A students tried to introduce themselves, Eraserhead dragged them to get away from his long time nemesis. Ketsubutsu students missed their chance to say hello.

"Sensei, Yoarashi looked familiar." Shoto said. "Didn't he apply for a UA recommendation?"

"He did and we accepted him, but for some reason he refused to join our school."

"Why would anyone refuse UA? That seems stupid, kero."

"I'm sure he had his reasons." Todoroki argued.

Aizawa ordered his students do complete the exam and went towards the viewer's deck. On his way there he bought himself some coffee. He didn't feel tiredness for months, but old habits die hard. The hero removed his mask to enjoy some...

"Erasherhead!" He twitched at the voice.

Emi saw Shota's face. He looked like a completely different person. The bags under his eyes, the tiny cuts from careless shaving, the facial wrinkles and even signs of dryness in his eyes were all gone. His skin face pale, but otherwise he looked like he was 20 again.

"Oh my God! Who are you and where is my friend?!" She pointed finger at him. "Shota I know couldn't possibly be this handsome!"

"Is that a joke? I can't tell."

"Look, Joke, I'm the same Aizawa you know. I had to undergo a very... specific treatment."

While Eraserhead wasn't forbidden from telling how exactly he turned into a creature of the night and what it meant, he didn't feel like ratting out his student.

"May I apply for the same treatment? I'd kill to be 20 years old again." She laughed at her joke.

"Trust me; it wouldn't be good for you. You see the benefits, but drawbacks I hide from the others."

"You don't hide anything from your future wife." She giggled.

"I'm dead serious. Besides, my current condition wouldn't mesh well with your smiley image."

"Ahh." The green haired woman pretended to faint. "Seriously though, what the hell happened? I'm worried about you, Sho." Fukukado sounded serious for the first time today.

"*Sigh* Promise not to tell anyone about this."

Right after parting with Eraserhead, Creati warned her classmates.

"I've been told that other schools will try to jump as because they've seen our quirks on TV. We have to stick together if we want any chance at success."

"Why didn't Mr Aizawa warn us?" Uraraka wondered.

"Logical ruse." Everyone answered the very next second.

"How does he expect us to trust him at all?"

"Anyway, do not tell him that I told you, okay? The last thing I want is to write an arbitrary essay for this."

"I think it's still better if I do it alone. There is a high chance you'll get caught in my attacks if I stay close to you." Todoroki said.

"That is incredibly overconfident!" Iida chopped the air. "What if someone rushes you down?"

"Yes, because it worked so well for you." Shoto frowned.

"Wait, he is capable of sarcasm?"

"I have to agree with Iida-kun. Even if one person with super speed is not an issue, this facility has 1500 students with all sorts of quirks. We can't afford to underestimate them one bit. Same goes for you, Bakugo-kun." Class President looked him dead in the eyes.

"I'd leave and do things my way, but I know you extras won't last 5 minutes without me." He caused half of the class to face palm.

Mera, the tired HPSC representative explained the importance of only having the best of the best in the field and then proceeded to explain the rules of the first exam. Essentially, it was very similar to dodge ball, except you had to aim for specific parts on each person. Walls of the debrief building fell apart and everyone had 15 minutes to get to their starting position. UA chose the city as their recent training with class 1B was conducted in a similar environment. A lot of schools followed them for a chance at easy victory.

"Wow, that was one hell of a story. It's not every day someone saves you from death in such bizarre way."

"It works for me. I never liked sun anyway."

"Ha ha, you are definitely Shota Aizawa. Say, did you warn your students about UA purge?"

"No. I'm preparing them for reality in which every thug will know that to expect from them."

"Did you just call every non UA student a thug?"

"That wasn't my intention. What I'm trying to say is that my students will be able to overcome this obstacle. I am sure of it."

"Yeah, UA tends to be intense. Good thing I told my students to stay away from them."

Author's notes: The whole will play out a lot differently compared to canon.
