Chapter 17: Moving in

Izuku and Ochako were on the way to her apartment to pick up her things. While going, green head decided to message several individuals.

Green Devil: Hello, sir.

Big Brain: Hello, Midoriya-kun. Is something bothering you?

Green Devil: Yeah, two things. It appears my hero suit (and my cloak by extension) can't absorb high intensity ultraviolet light. I'd like to make adjustments.

Big Brain: Pay a visit to support department. I'll let them know you are coming. What's the second problem?

Green Devil: Yaoyorozu-san mentioned being a recommended student. Why wasn't I recommended?

Big Brain: The biggest factor that decides who gets in via this method is the person/people behind the recommendation. Todoroki was recommended by a number two hero Endeavor, for example. I didn't want to recommend you because it would be seen as nepotism, and the only Pro Hero who you know personally isn't even in top 10. Besides, with your raw power I knew you would easily pass the entrance exam.

Green Devil: Understood. Thank you, Nezu-sama!

Alien Queen: Midori, what were you two talking about?

Green Devil: She needs a place to stay, so I'm helping her move in.

Alien Queen: Really? In that case, I need a place to stay too :)

Green Devil: I'm not joking. Apparently she rented an apartment but can't do it anymore because the price increased.

Alien Queen: That sucks. Anyway, I'm going to pay you a visit today.

Green Devil: What? Why?

Alien Queen: I haven't been in your home for quite a while. Plus, I think tonight will be fun with three of us!

Green Devil: Alright, just don't make me look bad.

Alien Queen: IDK, I think it would suit you. Kisses!

Pumpkin: Hi, mom! One of my classmates can't afford rent, so I offered her to stay at our home. Please ask our chef Tonio to cook for two more people.

Sunshine: Is it the same girl that we talked about before?

Pumpkin: Yes, but it's not what you are thinking! I genuinely want to help her.

Pumpkin: And before you ask, no, Yoshikage-san has nothing to do with it.

Sunshine: Ok, my dear. Who's the second person?

Pumpkin: Mina wants to visit us and have fun.

Sunshine: Izuku, if you're thinking what I'm thinking, please use protection. I'm not ready to become a grandmother yet.

Pumpkin: MOM!

Uraraka lived in a modest 1 room apartment on the edge of the city. She packed her clothes and other belongings in a large bag. After a while the landlord came to pick up the keys. The pair said their goodbye and took a taxi towards green head's home. On their way they met Mina and all three went together.

Inko Midoriya cheerfully greeted the teenagers and told them that dinner would be ready in a few hours. She reminded Uraraka of her own mother.

Ochako knew that Deku's family must be wealthy, but not that wealthy! He even had a separate room dedicated for paintings! All of them were portraits of women, including replicas of Mona Lisa and Birth of Venus. Curiously, there were also paintings of modern looking girls, including Kendou, Chitoze and Uraraka herself.

"Holy crap! Did you make these?" Ochako asked.

Green head silently nodded.

"Wow, I didn't you were so passionate about drawing, Deku-kun!" The brunette admired the pieces of art.

"I'm not." Izuku shrugged. "I don't enjoy painting, not in the same way I enjoy analyzing heroes and quirks."

"Then why do you have so many drawings? And why are you so good at making them?"

"Because otherwise I wouldn't let him use Killer Queen."

"It's a subconscious thing. Some people call it inspiration, I call it an urge."

"So it's just like our…" Ochako looked at her hands before putting them down as she noticed Mina looking at her.

"You and Midori, huh?" Alien girl smiled at space girl as her cheeks got red. "You don't have to lie to me, Ochako-chan. I've been his friend since we were five. I know about his hand fascination."

"Oh, are you also…"

"No, even though I asked him many times." Pinky looked at herself. "I guess my hands aren't good enough."

"That's NOT the reason, Mina." Izuku turned towards her. "Your hands are beautiful. The reason I'm keeping you away from that is shame. I feel ashamed of my obsession, but I can't properly function without indulging it. I want to keep this part of me away from my friends." He looked at Uraraka. "Wait, that came out wrong. What I'm trying to say is I don't want people around me to think I am a freak, even if I am one objectively. *Gulp* My dream is to be a hero that brings hope to future generations, which wouldn't be possible if public knew what I'm doing behind closed doors…"

"Deku-kun." Brunette put her finger in his lips. "You don't need to make excuses. I know that you are a hero, you've already saved me from that big robot, remember? I would never hold your fondness of hands against you."

"Yeah!" Mina patted her friend on the shoulder. "I'm sure you'll be a great hero. You're smart, strong and cute. Not to mention your quirk! And you are not a freak. Everyone has their preferences. You shouldn't be ashamed of what makes you happy."

"Thanks, guys." Izuku cried a little. "I didn't think I needed reassurance up until now." He hugged them both.

"Does this mean you'll finally invite me?" Ashido giggled.

"Why are you so insistent about it?"

"I'm curious, that's all." She licker her hand.

"Well." Izuku let out a nervous laughter. "I guess we can try it tonight after dinner."

"YES!" He could hear the killer screaming in his ears.

"Quiet, you freak!" The devil sounded pissed.

Today kept on bringing surprises to the space girl. Not only did Midoriyas live in a huge house, but they also hired a foreign chef who cooked divine meals. She couldn't believe that one of her classmates ate food like this every day. A part of her got really envious at her him, but she quickly brushed it aside. All in all, Izuku seemed like a polite and considerate person, although not without bizarre quirks in his character. Still, she wasn't going to complain about someone who graciously offered her a place to stay.

After the lunch, teenagers spent the entire evening playing video games and discussing how today's battle trial went. Mina jokingly suggested she'd join Green head's vampire army, but settled for a getting a crude portrait of herself drawn with her palm. She took the drawing with her and promised to put it in her room.
