Meroney Land Chapter 2
It was almost midnight, and all the Loud sisters were sleeping beside one another. The eldest of the Loud family, Lori, was the only one still awake. Lori lay in her bed, staring at the window with a sad and worried expression. She could not shake off the thought that she might have been too harsh on Lily. She feared she had made Lily think she did not care about her. Lori recalled that Lily had made an embarrassing video of her and the other sisters, which upset them all. In their anger, they decided to ignore Lily and stopped. Even worse, Lori had told her "You literally disgust me." This memory haunted Lori, making her question whether she had been a good sister to Lily.
Lori: I may have been too harsh on her. Lori thinks about the upset expression on her face. I should have waited and let her finish what she was about to say. Instead, I yelled at her. felt like the world's worst sister after saying that. Lori heard a ring on her phone and looked at it. It was a text from her boyfriend Bobby.
Bobby texted "Hey Babe, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. I am so glad I have you." Lori was about to reply, but turned her phone off, placed it back on her, and stared at the ceiling. That message brought back memories of being upset with Lily for calling Ronnie Anne, which made upset and led Bobby breaking up with her, causing Lori to be at Lily for it.
Lori questioned herself,"Am I that mean to her?" She, in the situation, caused Bobby to break up with her for making Ronnie Anne cry and acknowledged her anger. However, she realized she had handled the situation differently. sighed loudly, turned to the other side, and saw three pictures: one of, one of her, and of Lily. She gazed at the first picture and smiled.
Lor: I remember this. It was the day Lily came home.
Flashback 1
Lori was seven years old when all four of her sisters were converse on the.
7-year-old Lori: "I can't wait to see our new baby sister," Lori says excitedly. 6-year Leni: "So mommy will bring the baby out of her room?" Leni says, still not understanding. 5-year-old Luna: "No Leni, Mommy will bring the baby home," Luna explains. 4-year-old Luan: "I hope they come soon. It feels like we are living in the Stone Age," Luan jokes, making everyone laugh this time. 3-year-old Lynn Jr: "I can't wait to be a big sister. I will take good care of her," Lynn Jr. says, trying to act like a big sister. Before they can say anything else, the door opens, and Lynn Sr. and Rita Loud Walk in holding their new baby, with her face covered to surprise them.
Loud sisters: Hi Mom, hi Dad, they say looking at the cover. They all want to know. They look at them and nod their heads. Yes, it is, but Luna, Luan, and Lynn Jr all gather Lori. "You are all too hold her," they all understood and did as they were told. After they gathered around Lori Rita gave Lori their new baby sister. Rita: "There you go." After she handed Lori the baby, Lynn Sr started speaking. Lynn Sr: "You can cover." All the sisters waited to see her. took a few seconds but then began to remove the cover from the baby's face When she did, everyone saw their new baby sister's face. She was sleeping, and everyone was amazed to see her.
Loud sisters: "She is so adorable," they all say with tears welling up in their eyes.
Lori: "What is her name?" Lori asks, still wiping away her tears.
Rita and Lynn Sr.: "Her name is Lily Loud."
Lori looks at her and softly says her name, "Lily." Upon hearing her name, Lily opens her eyes, at everyone around her, and then focuses back on Lori. With a gentle smile, Lori addresses baby Lily, "Hi Lily, welcome to the Loud family." After these words Lily smiles and giggles, prompting the family to exclaim "Aw and embrace her warmly.
End of Flashback One
L smiles and turns her head, looking at another. Oh, her first step.
Flashback Two
Lily, at nine months old, was playing with her building blocks in the living room. The loud sisters were on the couch watching TV, while the parents were in another room. The child had grown tired of watching Tree Grown.
Lori: "Where is the remote?" Lori asked, looking out of her mind. Luna: "I don't know where it is now, it was just here," Luna replied, looking more bored than ever. Luan: "Looks like we are bored to extinction, haha get it?" Their laughed but quickly returned to being bored. Lynn Jr: "Sigh, if only we knew where the remote is," Lynn Jr said, mimicking her other sisters. Lily, despite being a baby, could understand a little bit. She started to crawl to the kitchen. Once there, she looked at the floor and found the TV. She tried to bring the remote to her siblings, but it was not easy to carry the remote and crawl at the same time. She noticed that her family moved on two legs, so she tried to do the same. When Lily tried to stand up, she kept falling. Fortunately, she didn't hurt herself.
She tried two more times but kept falling. Lily sighed and was about to cry, but then she looked at the table leg and had an idea. She crawled to the table leg and started to stand up. She almost fell, but she stopped, and, with that, she began to take steps one by one. Lily was taking her first steps. "Oh my gosh," a loud voice yelled out. Back in the living room, all her sisters looked at their older sister Lori, and Lynn Jr. started asking her, "Lori, what's up?" Lynn wanted to know why Lori yelled out. "Lily," Lori said. "What about Lily, and where is she?" Luna asked, trying to find her. Lori got off the couch and spoke, "Lily, you can walk," Lori said joyfully. They looked at Lily, and soon the rest of her sisters, Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lynn Jr., were filled with joy and ran to see Lily walking. A few seconds later, the parents' door opened, and Rita and Lynn Sr. walked out. Rita asked, "Kids, what's going on?"
Rita, looking concerned, says, "Did something happen?" Lynn Sr. asks his daughter. All of them look at each other and exclaim, "Lily can walk!" They all move and see Lily taking her first steps. Lynn Sr. and Rita look in shock and surprise as they witness Lily's first steps. Rita exclaims, "Oh my goodness, Lynn, get the camera!" Lynn Sr. responds, "On it. This is the best day." He runs to get the camera, filled with joy. The rest of the family is elated that Lily has started walking.
End Flashback.
Tears welled up in Lori's eyes when Lily took her first steps, and she was the first person to witness it. "Ha, I was so happy that day," Lori says with a smile, but her expression turns somber. She gazes at the last photograph, one she remembers vividly. It was Lily's first day of kindergarten, and she was very frightened.
Flashback 3
Lily, now 4 years, is in the living room preparing for her first day of kindergarten. She is terrified, and Rita is attempting to put her down.
Rita: "Sweating, there is nothing to be worried about," Rita said, trying to help her. Lily: "No, I don't want to go. I'm scared," Lily said. Rita looked at her and asked, "Lily, there's nothing you should be afraid of." Rita still tried to help, but Lily shook her head no. Rita sighed, not knowing what to do next. Lori, who was upstairs, had heard everything and had come up with a plan. She went downstairs and spoke to her mom.
Lori: Mom, I can help Lily with this. Lori gave an example to her mom. Rita looked at her and asked. Rita: Are you sure, Lori? I don't know. Rita said, still uncertain, but Lori kept speaking. Lori: Don't worry, Mom. I will help her. Plus, my boyfriend's mom is taking me to school, and I asked if it was okay to take Lily to school. They said it was fine. After Lori finished, Rita thought about it. After a few seconds, Rita spoke. Rita: Well, ok. I trust you with this, Lori. Rita said with a happy tone. Lori was glad to hear that. Lori: Don't worry, Mom. I won't fail you. Lori said with a proud tone. Rita: I know you won't. Take a sweater. Rita kissed Lori on the head and looked at Lily. Have a great day,. Mommy loves you. Rita said, kissing her forehead. She headed to the door to take her kid's school. Lily: Mommy, wait.
Lily tried to run to the door, but she slipped on Lynn Jr.'s baseball bat and fell on the floor. She got up with a bruise on her leg and started to cry. Lori rushed to comfort her and tried to calm her down. "Don't cry, Lily, everything will be okay," Lori said while carrying her as if she were her child. placed Lily on the couch and retrieved a first aid kit. Lori sprayed Lily's leg, causing her to cry a bit, but Lori reassured her, "Don't cry, Lily, I'm here." After finishing, she put a Band-Aid on the bruise. "There you go, all done," Lori said while wiping away Lily's tears. Once Lily calmed down, Lori began to speak.
Lori: Ok, Lily, what's wrong? Why don't you want to go to school? Lily looks at her and says. Lily: I'm scared. Lori: Why are you scared? Lori asks in a calm tone. Lily: I am scared that someone will hurt me or that no one will like me. Lily says, sniffing. After hearing that, Lori knows what to do Lori: Lily, there is nothing you should be worried about in kindergarten. It's really fun. Lily looks at her and speaks. Lily: It is? She is concerned about what Lori says.: Yes, it is. They have nap time, finger painting, and a trampoline. After hearing that, Lily's eyes widen. Lily: Finger painting and a trampoline? That sounds fun, but what if no one likes me? Lily is still unsure.
Lori knelt down to Lily's level and spoke gently. "Lily, you are the kindest most caring person. If others do not appreciate you, that is their loss. If anyone harms you, I will protect you and ensure they regret it," Lori said, comforting her sister Lily smiled and replied, "You will do that?" nodded affirmatively. "Yes, you are my little sister. I will always be there for you." After hearing this, Lily ran up to Lori and hugged her tightly. "Thank you," she said. "You're welcome, Lily. Are you ready for school?" Lori asked. Lily nodded and said, "Yes, I am ready."

Lori started tearing up after recalling those memories, missing the times when they had each other. She wondered how everything had changed.
Lori: Yes, I was too harsh on her. I was just worried that something might happen to her. Lori reflects on the situation. First, I need to apologize to her. Then, I need to have a heart-to-heart so we can understand each other better. Lori smiles at the thought. After that, Lori begins to fall asleep.
