Chapter 9

The butterflies in her stomach fluttered and danced as she followed her husband into their shared room. The night had flown by in a flurry of laughter, well wishes, and happiness. Her cheeks were flushed from the joy flooding through her as well as the Asgardian wine that had been poured in her cup every time that it was near empty.

Next to her her husband gave a drunken laugh as he stumbled on his cape. Giggling she moved to his side to help steady him as he teetered again. He had much more to drink than her, pounding back the cups of wine and mead with his friends and anyone who approached him for a toast.

"T-thank you wife." His voice was a bit slurred as he turned to her and ducked his head down to press a light kiss her forehead, her heart fluttered at the intimate and loving touch. Laughing as he fumbled with the clasp of his cloak she reached over and undid it for him letting it fall around him in an almost unearthly way.

What was it with all the males around her being ethereal?

Pushing the thought away she could only give a hearty laugh as he moved to the bed and flopped on it face first. He groaned into it before flipping onto his back to gaze up at her, his bright blue eyes churning with emotions that made her face flush and her heart skip a beat.

"Come." His voice was low and drawled with a husky tone as he held his hand out to her. Swallowing thickly she moved forward, her gaze bashful as her fingers danced atop his open palm.

"I-I've never..." She trailed off, her gaze shifting from his to gaze at the sheets in embarrassment. While she knew it was foolish to be embarrassed at a time like this she couldn't help it. Before now all she had ever done was kiss Inu Yasha and that had only happened twice! She blinked as his hand caught hers, his fingers interlacing with hers as he brought her hand to his lips to brush a feather light kiss on the back of it.

"Trust me. I will not hurt you." It was a statement that made her heart flutter in her chest. Nodding she let him pull her to him, settling her in his lap as he cupped the back of her head angled it so it dipped down shielding them from the world with her dark raven hair as her lips met his in a shy yet hopeful kiss.

She shuddered as he broke the kiss and began to kiss along her neck, his hands supporting her upper back as she straddled him. Cheeks red she could only whimper as he sucked her earlobe into his mouth before letting it go with a wet pop.

Heat began to pool in her lower stomach as his hands kneaded her back through her flowing gown. Shyly she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and tilted her head to the side so he had more access to the skin he was showering with kisses and licks.

She felt him smirk against her neck as he trailed the tip of his tongue down her collar bone, one hand moving to the front of her dress to tug it open, his other hand holding her weight as if it was nothing.

Her toes curled as he suckled her breast through the sheer bra she was wearing under her gown, his thigh shifting between her legs making her whimper in need.

"Thor..." His name was a hearty whisper as he mumbled against her heated flesh. "Beautiful..." Lord help her...she was a goner...her husband held her heart in his hands just as easily as he supported her weight, all she could do now was hope he wouldn't let her fall on her face...

She awoke the next day, her body sore yet fully satisfied. While Thor was brash and assertive on the battlefield he had been kind and loving to her last night. Taking things slow and letting her adjust to the new aspect of their relationship. He let her set the pace and as she grew more confident he slowly took the reins and opened her eyes to pleasures she had never known.

Flushing red at the memories of their first night as husband and wife she rolled to her side fully expecting to see him sleeping next to her. Yet his side of the bed was empty and as she placed her hand over it, inhaling his woodsy scent, she realized that it was cold.

He hadn't been in the bed for a while. A small frown marred her face as insecurities and doubts from her past flooded her heart and mind. Shoving them down she sat up, holding the sheet to her naked body, she was being ridiculous. He had probably gotten up early to attend to his royal duties and decided to let her sleep in.

Shaking her head at her previous thoughts she banished them as she made her way into their bathing chambers to soak away her troubles, and relax muscles she had no idea existed before last night, before she faced the day. Now that she was a married woman she would more than likely have to adjust her daily schedule to match his.

A smile broke out on her face at that thought, her a married woman!
