I dipped my fingers into the snow, my hands molding the frozen flakes into a ball. My target was in sight–their horns made them an easy mark. Beside me, Krem egged me on with barely contained chuckles. I closed one eye, lining up my shot, and then let loose. The snowball hit its mark, clocking the Iron Bull right in the back of his head. He whipped around, growling. When he spotted Krem and I, we took off running as if our lives depended on it.

They probably did.

I slid around the corner of the tavern right as a ball of snow exploded on the back of Krem's head and sent him sprawling down into the snow. I cried out his name, but Krem shouted, "Go! Run!"

Behind us, Bull was jogging with another orb of snow in his palms. I didn't need any further encouragement, I bolted up the steps near the apothecary and only stopped to bend down and grab my own snowball. I launched one at Dorian, whose lips turned down in a frown, snow clinging to the hairs of his mustache. I sent another one at Solas, but he stopped it with magic before it could hit him. I raced down the path behind the apothecary and swung back around until I was near Threnn's station.

I whipped a snowball at Cullen's back and the Commander made a startled grunting sound. Another snowball went for Leliana, but she side stepped it easily. I threw back my head and laughed as I heard my companion's shout their revenge. Sera was the only one cheering me on and I even saw her stoop to scoop up her own snowball.

I was a menace.

I leapt over the barricade before me and made a sharp turn until I was nestled in the trees around Haven. I stepped quietly, hoping no one noticed my obvious tracks in the snow. I breathed heavily, my cheeks windburnt and my nose red from the cold. My body felt light with laughter and I slipped behind a tree trunk as a group of passerbyers walked across my vision.

I tore my eyes from the path and met Solas's gaze unexpectedly. I quickly bent down to snatch up some snow, but Solas was quicker. His fingers curled around my wrist and he pinned me to the tree trunk.

A smirk turned up the corners of his lips and he said, "Drop it."

I pouted and clung tighter to the cold ball in my palm even as the blood under my skin came alive like fire.

Solas bent closer to me until our noses almost touched. "Drop it," he said lowly, his voice rumbling deep in his chest.

I dropped the orb of snow, my pout growing with my displeasure.

"It's all in the name of fun," I argued.

Solas released me and stepped back. He turned his back to me, but the smirk was still on his face. Before I could bend down to rearm myself with another snowball, Solas flicked his wrist and a creaking sound above my head alerted me just before a pile of snow dumped on my head and shoulders.

Ice chunks slid down the neckline of my coat and I yelped as the snow melted against my warm skin.

"Unfair!" I grit out, my hands swiping at the snow on me.

Solas glanced over his shoulder and his smile turned hands clasped behind his back and I scooped some of the snow off of me and aimed it at him.

"I wouldn't," he said sharply, his smile never leaving his lips.

"Retribution," I hissed.

I launched the snow at him and he easily dodged. What he didn't expect was me launching myself at him. I pressed my hands into his chest, knocking him off his feet. What I didn't expect was for him to wrap his arms around me and drag me down with him.

We crashed into the snow with a pair of groans. I lifted my head off of his chest to ask what the hell he had done that for, but I found him staring at me, a strange look in his eyes. My breath stopped in my lungs and I noticed the position we were in. Our hips were flush, our legs a tangled mess. His arms were still around me and my hands were planted in the snow on either side of his head.

I wanted to apologize and get off of him, but I was locked in place. The sounds of soft breathing were the only thing to pass between us for several heart beats. His damn freckles had me entranced and I felt the need to say something–anything. When I heard a commotion behind us, I scrambled off of the apostate and stood on my own two feet.

"Where is she?" Dorian hissed, a snowball in his hand.

"I have a present for her," Iron Bull hissed with an enormous orb of snow between both of his palms.

"You must face your retribution, Lethallen," Solas said as he sat up in the snow.

I shushed him and took off running. Before I could get very far, however, I crashed into Leliana's chest and she shoved a handful of snow down the back of my shirt. I squealed, the snow melting into frigid water that dripped all the way down the skin of my back.

My yelp brought the attention of the others.

I backed away from Leliana and bolted again. I thought I was screwed until a hand clasped onto mine and Sera dragged me to the right, further into the woods and around a bush.

She pressed a finger to my lips and stepped around the bush we were hidden behind. She pointed to the left as the others approached and shouted, "She went that way!"

They bought it and charged in the direction Sera pointed.

"That was impressive," I said, my breath coming fast.

"Let's go! I think we can hit Cullen twice if we creep up behind them!" Sera whispered fervently.

I giggled and followed after the resident troublemaker.
