"Hitch-Hiking: DigiDestineds Style"
Personally, I don't approve of hitch-hiking. You never know what kind of people you will meet. Please enjoy and review!
When the group finally woke up, it was to find they had reached the end of the line and was now in Shinjuku.
They were shocked by this revelation and rushed off the train to try and figure out their next move.
"How did we miss our stop?" Mimi asked after everyone got out of the train.
"All of you slept right through it." Patamon said making the group look at him.
"Patamon, you were awake? What's wrong with you? Why didn't you wake us up?" TK yelled.
"How could I? You told us not to make a sound." Patamon said.
"What now? Go back to our stop?" Joe asked.
"No, it's out of our way. But I think we can change trains from here and be okay." Izzy told everyone.
The group walked out into the crowd of people.
"How much longer? I'm getting awful hungry, Tai." Koromon complained.
"Yeah, I'm starving." Tsunomon added.
"I'm famished." Palmon whined.
"It can wait. Hey, I'm hungry too, you know." Tai said.
"I keep visualizing cheeseburgers and I don't even eat cheeseburgers." Mimi whined as everyone stopped walking.
"It has been a long time since any of us have eaten. And our Digimon get weak when they're hungry." Matt reasoned.
The humans all looked at each other, frowning before the team leader sighed.
"Okay." Tai agreed.
Mimi giggled as everyone smiled and ran off to where the nearest restaurant was.
Joe and Izzy disappeared during the walk through the crowd, but Daisuke knew the duo would find them with the help of their Digivices.
Once ordering their food, everyone sat down and started eating, eager to fill up their empty bellies.
The Digimon all ate the food happily, in awe of the new food they were trying.
"I feel like a new woman." Mimi grinned.
"Man, tastes great." Tai exclaimed.
"Yummylicious." Mimi said.
"So, are we finally going to get our ice cream?" Veemon asked Daisy making her almost choke on her fries in surprise.
"You're still on about that!" Daisuke gave him a look.
"Boy, I sure needed this." Sora smiled.
"You people are lucky. Yum, yum. You get to eat this stuff every day." Tsunomon said eating his own burger.
"A little louder why don't cha? There's a couple of people that aren't staring yet." Matt muttered as he munched on his own burger.
"Actually nobody noticed yet, but Matt's right, you should-"Mimi trailed off with a gasp as she looked at the door.
"Uh oh." Patamon said as the children of Reliability and Knowledge walked over to the group and they weren't happy.
"Joe, Izzy, it's about time." TK said.
"Hey, what're you guys waiting for? Order something." Tai said to the two boys.
"How when you guys have got all of the money, huh?" Joe asked.
"Whoops, we went and spent it all." Mimi said cheerfully making Joe drop Gomamon and hang his head.
"See, we were all so hungry we ordered the super duper combos." Sora said nervously as the bluenette shook in anger.
"Great, you spent it all. THAT WAS ALL THE MONEY WE HAD IN THE WORLD!" Joe yelled, then blushed bright red as he saw half of the people in the restaurant staring at him.
Then he walked off to the bathroom muttering under his breath in anger as he did so.
"Of all the dumb, greedy, selfish little things, it's unbelievable! You guys are supposed to be my friends, my friends, my friends…" he muttered.
"Well, I feel bad." Daisuke sighed.
"Look at that. Now the Digivice is responding." Izzy said as his device beeped.
"So, why wouldn't it be?" Sora asked as Motimon and Gomamon were given some of the food to eat.
"Well, it wasn't working at all when I tried it in the station." The redhead explained.
"Really?" The orange haired girl asked before she took a sip of her soda.
"I guess in this world they only function at a close distance." Izzy said.
"That's great, but meanwhile, what're we going to do now?" Mimi asked.
"We start walking. They won't let us back on the train without any money." TK stated.
"I'm sure not looking forward to walking all that way." Matt commented.
"We don't really have a choice." Daisuke reminded.
"Ha! I know a way that won't cost us a penny. Just leave it everything to me." Tai smiled with a thumbs up.
"Oh, great. You're a genius." Matt said sarcastically.
A few minutes later, the Digidstineds and their Digimon were out by the side of the road crouching behind some bushes watching as Tai walked out to the side to show off his wonderful plan.
"Help! Police! My cat is stuck in a tree in Odaiba and I've gotta get there right away so I can get him down! Hey!" he yelled jumping up and down, the cars honking at him to get out of the road.
"The police? That's his brilliant idea?" Matt asked in disbelief.
"Oh, man. We're hitchhiking?" Veemon whined.
He remembered what happened the last time he, Daisuke, Cody, Yolei, Poromon and Upamon tried to hitchhike their way to Colorado to meet up with TK, Kari, Patamon and Gatomon.
It was a horrible experience!
A man almost ran them off the road in his taxi because he was too busy singing along to the radio.
"If the police do stop, they'll lock him up for disturbing the peace." Izzy said as Tai jumped away from a red Volkswagen that nearly hit him.
"Hey, I've got the right of way!" Tai yelled.
"Lookin' good, Tai." Matt quipped as Tai shook in rage with his back to us.
"Good grief. At this rate, we could be sitting here all day." Joe sighed.
"Then you try to get us a ride!" Tai yelled turning and pointing at the three as they gave him shocked looks.
"Me? No way." Joe denied.
"How about you, Matt? You think you're so smart." Tai taunted.
Tai came back to wait with the group as they watched the child of Friendship walk right up to the road, confident in himself.
"Well?" Tai asked as he just stood there.
"I'm waiting." Tai said as Matt turned back to us with sweat on his temples and cheeks pink and head tilted down.
"Not so easy, is it, Matt?" Tai taunted.
"WELL, AT LEAST MY CAT'S NOT STUCK IN A TREE!" the blond raged as he walked back over to his place while Izzy and Joe walked up next.
They sighed before they started shouting 'TAXI!' and waved their arms and legs all around.
Everyone laughed at them, but quieted down when a cab pulled up, the boys stopping their dance.
"You kids want a cab?" the man driving asked.
"Yeah." Izzy and Joe said.
"You got any money?" the man asked.
"…No." The boys responded.
With that, the man closed the door and sped off, making the two boys hang their heads in defeat.
"Hey, Daisuke, why don't you give it a try? Last time, you managed to get a large truck to stop for us and give us a ride." Veemon said.
"Yeah, and what are the chances of that happening again?" Daisuke muttered.
Letting out a groan, Daisuke stood up and stretched out her stiff muscles from crouching down behind the bushes for a while and made her way to the side of the road.
Brushing her hair back from her face, Daisuke then caught the attention of a truck that was being driven by a college aged man.
In the passenger seat was a boy who appeared to be 13 years old and when he set his sights on Daisuke, he nudged the man, possibly his brother, to pull over.
"Look, someone's stopping!" TK pointed.
Everyone watched in anticipation as an attractive preteen boy with black hair, brown eyes and fair skin poked his head out of the window to speak with Daisuke.
Turning up the charm, Daisuke started to speak with the boy.
Tai's jaw dropped in shock at how easily Daisuke was charming the two males who seemed to be hooked on the cute girl.
Watching the way how the black haired boy was staring at Daisuke with a blush on his cheeks filled Tai with righteous brotherly fury.
As for Matt, he was simply glowering in rage at how Daisuke appeared to be flirting with the attractive boy.
"Seems like Daisuke is having luck." Izzy commented.
"Of course! What kind of guy could turn down a cute girl?" Mimi smirked as she flipped her hair.
Sora couldn't help but to laugh as she watched Daisuke turn towards them and waved them over.
Tai picked up Veemon and carried him over along with Koromon.
"Hey, guys, this is Hikaru and Ikuto. They agreed to drive us to Odaiba." Daisuke informed.
"That's great!" Mimi cheered.
"Thank you so much!" Sora smiled.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure your parents must be worried about you kids. Especially after you missed your train." Ikuto, the older brother, said.
"We don't have a lot of room in here, so, some of you are gonna have to sit in the truck bed." Hikaru, the boy who was blushing over Daisuke, told them.
"Thank you, we really appreciate it." Joe bowed his head.
Daisuke, Sora, Mimi and TK all climbed into the back seats with their Digimon.
Tai, Matt, Joe and Izzy got into the truck bed with their Digimon.
After Ikuto made sure the boys were safe in the truck bed and the girls (plus TK) were strapped in, he drove off.
Everyone relaxed and was happy that they didn't have to walk the rest of the way to Odaiba.
Now, they could focus on trying to find the Ninth Child before Myotismon did.
