CHAPTER 3
The Test
Nevada: Sterling Laboratories
We then see Wayne drive his van to a place called Sterling laboratories (no relation to a certain human turned Fox-Wolf hybrid with Chozo DNA despite sharing the same last name.) After he parked his van he rushed into the building with extreme haste. We then see a facility with a bunch of scientists near a massive machine that looks like Wayne's old shrink ray but more bulkier and unlike said shrink ray it does the opposite since it is a growth ray.
"Szalinski Test number 1277. Crystal group 5." A computerized voice said.
"Shouldn't we wait for Szalinski?" a scientist asked.
"Maybe this will teach him to be on time. Szalinski isn't running the show I am." another scientist who clearly is a high ranking member said as he put a crystal near the growth ray.
"This better work this time, so concentrate." that scientist said as he along with the rest of the scientists put on protection goggles.
Then the computerized voice counts down from ten seconds as the device starts to activate at the five second mark and eventually fires an energy beam when the timer reaches zero. We then see Wayne rush through the halls moving through fellow scientists and showing his badge to security before heading towards the doors to the facility where the growth ray is kept. After the energy beam subsides the lead scientist gets up close to the crystal and observes it as it begins to morph and eventually explode into a liquid.
"Sorry, everybody. There were some large cumulonimbus clouds blocking the sun, and I lost power. And my son got a job for the summer, and I had to meet up with some friends to drop him off." Wayne said as he came into the facility.
"What's that stuff on your face?" Wayne asked the head scientist who has the remains of the now liquified crystal on his face.
"Oh, Excuse me Dr. Hendrickson?" Wayne asked the head scientist known as Dr. Hendrickson but he was immediately ignored.
"I'm sick and tired of this. Now we had some success replicating szalinski's experiments shrinking matter, but reversing the process, enlarging matter, has seen us run up one blind alley after another. Clifford Sterling demands results. His board of directors demands results, the United States Government demands results: and as project director." Dr Hendrickson said before being cut off by Wayne.
Wayne then tries to explain that he's done some work to fix the problem with the growth ray as evident by a bunch of notes Wayne made but Dr Hendrickson refuses to look at the notes and after trying to convince Dr. Hendrickson to look at the notes, Wayne had a door slam right in his face.
Meanwhile Nick was at his summer job at a waterpark while some of the heroes decided to have some fun there in the meantime. Some of the younger members are playing in the splash area, while some of the others go down the waterslides and enjoy what the waterpark has to offer. We see Judau Ashta, Roux Louka, Mondo Agake, Beecha Oleg, Ellie Vianno, Caleb, Luke, Sora, Tails, Luca Angeloni, and Duo Maxwell with Sonic who is petrified with fear as he attempts to go into the water.
"Come on Sonic, it's not that bad." Duo said.
"Yeah a little water isn't going to kill you Sonic." Luca said with a hint of encouragement.
"Sonic this is one of the only ways to get rid of your fear of water and you will thank us later."
As sonic gulps he jumps in he starts to realize that this is not so bad after all.
We then see Matt Sterling, Fox McCloud, Krystal, Slippy, Mario, Luigi, Kate, Humphrey, Garth, Lilly, Shinji Ikari, Asuka, Rei Ayanami, Alto Saotome, Ranka Lee, all in this big wave pool.
"This is fun and refreshing after dealing with all those battles recently." Shinji Ikari said with a well deserved smile.
"Huh this one of the few times I've actually seen that idiot Shinji smile for once, maybe he just needed more emotional support after all and honestly, good for him." Asuka said in her thoughts.
"Cannon ball!" Pinkie Pie said as she jumped in from the side and splashed some of the heroes.
"You ponies don't know how to do a cannonball even if your mother taught you! Here let me show you how an all American patriot of a man does it!" Soldier shouts before rocket jumping into the pool which makes the waves bigger which wash Pinkie and the other ponies out of the pool.
After said washout Pinkie then gets up and comically spits water out of her mouth
"Ok that one's going in the books" Matt Sterling said which made him and the other team members laugh.
Back with Nick he sees the girl he likes having fun at the waterpark just as he was getting off his shift. After clocking out he leaves through one of the employee entryways to meet up with her and her friends.
"Mandy?" Nick says getting her attention.
"Yeah Rick?" Mandy says as she mispronounced his name.
"Nick." Nick said, correcting her.
But before they could say anything, an odd car horn was heard as we see Wayne's van appear to pick up Nick
"Hey, Nick, your dad's here in his spaceship." a boy said.
A few teases later and a talk about popularity The Szalinskis and the heroes made it back to the Szalinki's house. Wayne was talking with Diane on his headset phone thing and cooking dinner at the same time with some help from Cancer and Louie of course. We then see that the chicken Wayne was making is on fire but fortunately Caleb and Nick rush in with fire extinguishers to put out the fire. Diane then asks about Adam which Wayne responds by telling her that Adam is fine and in the playpen but unknown to Wayne, Adam has escaped again and some of our heroes are trying to get his attention but he's too busy talking with Diane to notice.
"Mr. Szalinski? It's Adam, he got out." Kimberly said as she tried to get his attention.
"Uh Kimberly I don't think he's listening to us." Tommy Oliver said with a defeated sigh.
"I swear to God this man is so irresponsible. Why hasn't CPS thrown the book at him yet?" Soap said with frustration.
"Finally somebody agrees with me!" Matt Sterling said.
"Caleb what is CPS?" Caeli asked.
"Well CPS or Child Protective Services is basically an agency that investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect." Caleb explains to his younger sister.
Just then a familiar jingle that is synonymous with a hot summer day is heard.
"Hey, does anyone hear an ice cream truck coming?" Alto Saotome said.
"Ice cream!" Adam said as the terrible toddler ran out the door.
Wayne, still oblivious as always, is still talking with Diane; fortunately Quark, Oatchi, and Moss get his attention by tugging his pant leg as Adam runs out the door.
"Oh no Adam got out!" Slippy said.
"Ah piss this ain't good!" Sniper said
"Does that kid have a death wish or something?" Spy said.
"This is bad, he might hurt himself!" Aidan shouted
"We need to get him quick!" Lilly Silverfang said with concern.
"Oh no you don't!" Matt Sterling said as he used the force to hold Adam in place before Wayne grabs Adam to safety.
"Does that kid have a death wish or something?" Spy said jokingly.
We then see Nick, Cancer, Aria, and Seth with the burnt remains of the chicken Diane left for the Szalinskis. The heroes along with Wayne and Adam looked at the burnt chicken as some smoke emitted from it which put off some of the heroes.
"That might've killed my appetite a little bit" Falco said quietly
Matt Sterling then texts Caleb on his multiversal phone and Caleb's multiversal phone vibrates signaling Matt's texts have been received.
"Keep your Multiversal Eats app ready Caleb I do NOT like the way Wayne's chicken is looking" Caleb said as he read Matt's text quietly.
It was then dinner time and we saw that some of the chicken was seen in food bowls of Quark, Moss, and Oatchi who made a face that looks like he's cringing real hard at the sight of the burnt chicken.
"Looks like Oatchi and Moss dislike the food, I'll go give them something more edible." Captain Shepherd said.
"Louie and I would be happy to help since you and the other Rescue Corps members did a lot for me back on PNF-404." Olimar said as he and Louie went with Captain Shepherd to get Oatchi and Moss something more appetizing.
Then we see the Szalinskis having sandwiches with some of the heroes. Wayne attempts to have a "Guys talk' with his sons since Amy and Diane are out of the house. Despite Wayne wanting to try to talk to his kids they seem somewhat not interested.
"Hey maybe we'll leave this to you guys since we might be getting in the way." Captain Price suggested.
"I think you're right Cap, I think it's best we leave this family business to them. Say why don't we all go have a night out?" Fox suggested.
"That's a great idea, I think it would be a great idea since there's a lot of things to do around here." Mario said.
"You know I've always wondered what the night life is like here." Matt Sterling said.
"Well let's just be nice and say you're in for a real treat!" Ozma Lee said with a smile.
"Don't worry about Caeli, Kibou, Cream, Cheese, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi because we'll watch them on the Blue Typhoon." Aria said.
"Don't worry about us Mr. Mario and Mr. Sonic, we'll all be good for Aria and Caleb." Cream said.
"Ok then it's settled, let's go have a night on the town!" Samus said.
"Who bets that'll be the designated driver tonight?" Matt Sterling said joking about the possibility of being the only sober person tonight due to an incident that "scared" him out of drugs and alcohol in the past.
Then the heroes and the Szalinskis say their goodbyes and drive off to go have a grand night out.
*LADY (HEAR ME TONIGHT) (MODJO)*
Nevada: Las Vegas
We see the heroes having fun in Las Vegas, some of them were partying and even hitting the slots. Matt was hesitant about playing a slot machine but he then had a look that just screams "Screw it I'm taking that risk!" as he heads towards the machine.
"They say 90% of gamblers quit right before they hit it big but NOT TONIGHT!" Matt Sterling shouted as he began to play the machine.
And as luck would have it he got the jackpot on the first try and he was so ecstatic and screamed with joy. The other heroes then see him and are shocked at the massive amount of money Matt just won.
"I can't stop winning!" Matt Sterling shouted as he was in the moment.
After having a bite at a restaurant and depositing their winnings in their bank accounts, the group began to drive back to the fleet just to call it a night. As Matt Sterling drove home he couldn't help but smile as the bright lights from Las Vegas began getting dimmer due to our heroes leaving the city.

"Man, that was fun!" Falco said as he was exhausted due to that night out.
"I told you guys I know how to party!" Humphrey said before passing out near Kate as she laughed and rubbed his shoulder.
"Guess we partied a little two hard." Samus said with a small laugh.
"You could say that again Samus I am exhausted! Fox you wouldn't mind if I crash in your room tonight?" Krystal said.
"Uh sure why not Krystal." Fox said blushing with a soft smile.
"Boss we all know you and Krystal are perfect with each other and there's no need to hide it!" Matt Sterling said with a laugh.
"I'm kind of glad that Pinkie and the rest of the ponies weren't here and are with Caleb and some of the younger members because I can imagine all the trouble she would cause with security." Amuro Ray said as he held Haro who looked a little tired.
"Yeah I just have this gut feeling that Equestrians and alcohol do not mix!" Fox said.
"Come to think of it, that's a really scary thought." Kamille said as Fa rested on his shoulder.
"Now I'm glad that didn't happen honestly." Bright Noa said.
"And let's keep it that way!" Matt Sterling added.
"I concur with that statement." Roy Focker said.
The heroes finally returned to the fleet and they all entered their ships and made a beeline straight to their respective quarters. While all the heroes are fast asleep we then see the radar station console on the Space Battleship Yamato's first bridge detect something despite the room being completely silent and empty. Meanwhile at Sterling Labs Dr Hendrickson is seen with a man having dinner in the lab.
"It would be a hell of a thing for you Charles, if it works." The man said
"It'll work. I'll make it work." Dr Hendrickson replied.
Over the years I've seen Clifford Sterling attach himself to one crazy idea after another. I tell you the board of directors is really worried" the man said.
Then the phone rang and Dr. Hendrickson picks it up to reveal Wayne who was messing around with balloons, he then tells Dr. Hendrickson that he got an idea on how to make the growth ray work after he sang Adam to sleep. As Wayne continued to share his theory on how to make the growth ray work better to get more favorable results Dr. Hendrickson is not amused.
"Why Clifford insists on keeping him involved is beyond me. If I were running this project by myself, we'd be neck deep in apples the size of Buicks." Dr Hendrickson ranted as Wayne continued to chatter in the background.
"There are those of us on the board who agree with you. Clifford Sterling just may have outlived his usefulness. To the Corporation, to its stockholders. I should think his successor would be a forgone conclusion, especially if you were the one to actually make this thing work.
"Szalinski, why don't you write up this balloon research of yours?" Dr Hendrickson said as he got back on the phone with Wayne.
"I can do the math and have it on your desk tomorrow." Wayne said.
"No it's not necessary. All right, have a good weekend, Szalinski." Dr. Hendrickson said before he hung up the phone.
As Dr. Hendrickson hung up Wayne felt a little annoyed about Dr. Hendrickson being a control freak with his project.
"Have a good weekend Szalinski?" Wayne said as he mocked the stuck up scientist.
Back at Sterling Labs, Dr Hendrickson and the man are seen walking out of the building unaware that a badnik with jamming equipment is flying above the building. Back inside the facility two guards see that the cameras are acting up.
"What the? Why are the Cameras acting up?" one guard says before getting knocked out by a soldier in black armor that has the Inner Circle emblem on it.
"Hey! Stop right where-" the other guard shouts before he gets pistol whipped by another soldier in black armor which knocks him unconscious.
The Inner Circle soldier pulls out his Walkie Talkie.
"Ok we're clear, you guys can make your way into the labs right now." the Inner Circle soldier said.
We then see the members of the Brotherhood of Evil enter the lab where the growth ray is being held.
"These Inner Circle and Konni Group guys are no joke! I'm glad they're on our side!" Bowser said with an evil laugh.
"Well this is that growth ray from the reports from my spy badniks detailed." Dr Eggman said.
"Now with this thing in our possession we'll have no problem making more giant enemies that can overwhelm the Super Smash Bros Team! But I'll stick to my magic wand, thank you very much!" Rita Repulsa said.
" As for I just hope you live up to your claim as the second coming of Char Aznable." Bowser said as he turned to Full Frontal.
"I assure you all that my Sinanju and myself will prove ourselves on the battlefield." Full Frontal said to the Koopa King.
Just then a Russian man appeared with some Inner Circle and Konni Group Troops and some were carrying supplies and tools.
"Well I take it, we all made it inside with no problems." the Russian man said with a devilish smile.
*MAKAROV (CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE III)*
"Vladimir Makarov. Let me be the first to welcome you and your men to the Brotherhood of Evil." Dr. Eggman said while adjusting his glasses.
"Now where were we? Oh yeah, let's give this growth ray a little tune up!" Weavel said.
"Dr Buttocks and Dr Drakken, do you two have the parts?" Lord Betrayus said.
"Yes sir we have the parts right here along with some of the DNA samples our mosquito drones acquired from that woman and her youngest son." Dr. Buttocks said while mentioning Adam and Diane before getting to work.
"Sir, why does that ghost thing's head look like an ass?" a Konni Group soldier said to Makarov.
"Don't question it and use your head soldier, they are our allies so show some respect!" Makarov said as he scolded the Konni Group Soldier.
"Even with that minor setback where we lost that outpost in Panama with the equipment, I'm sure that our adjustments to this growth ray would be able to help with our spare units." Sylux said as he revealed to have some spare units of that prototype drone.
"And judging from my predictions everything is all set for when our target arrives with his family." Kamek said as he looked into a crystal ball which shows Wayne, Nick, and Adam walking into the machine to test it out.
"Good we're spot on with your prediction Kamek." Bowser said
"When our little upgrade is complete we'll make sure the Super Smash Bros team is in for some BIG trouble!" Dr. Eggman said with an evil laugh.
"I'll be looking forward to this!" Makarov said with an evil grin forming on his face

It seems the Brotherhood of Evil has big plans for their next plot against their heroes. What part does Adam Szalinski play in this? What was that upgrade the Brotherhood of Evil gave to Wayne's Growth Ray? Why am I asking all these questions? There's only one way to know!
