Neb: I am back, and I do not own Hunter x Hunter. Let us continue the story. Minaga runs into Suzu, the police woman from the Hunter Exam. She's become a Crime Hunter. Minaga also became her suspect for a murder down at the Subway Station, but only because the murder happens the moment he enters town. Minaga is forced to follow Suzu around town as she investigates the possibillities of who killed this young blonde woman. Meanwhile he and Yujima are contracted to kill her father, at least that's what Yujima had told him. Was there parts of the mission that Yujima left out?
Minaga and Suzu headed out of the stairwell of the subway station and then begun to investigate the top of the area next. Perhaps there was a trace of nen left behind that would point towards their killer. At least, Minaga doubted that. The killer was a well trained assassin who used needles as a weapon, chances are the trained assassin would be too careful to leave nen traces behind. Minaga activated Gyo anyways to scope out the area. Just as he suspected, there was nothing.
"Hey Minaga," Suzu spoke up. "The Stairwell couldn't have been all that busy if the needle user killed a little girl there right?"
"I suppose," Minaga responded. That much was at least obvious.
"But, this place is usually busy though, the subway station is anyways. Why wasn't there anyone there to witness the girl's death?"
Minaga's eyes widened. She was right, this was a city, there weren't too many landmarks that weren't covered in people. Not to mention the Subway Station would have been a place that people used to get to work, so why was it empty. Could that have something to do with the Assassin's Nen ability, or did he just have enough influence to make sure this station was empty by the time the girl started poking her head around here. If it was the later instead of the former, Minaga doubted there would be this thorough of an investigation. The police would have been working to cover this scene up, not drag potential suspects onto the scene. Not unless if they were planning on pinning this on Minanaga, but Suzu's actions had led him to believe otherwise. "Suzu, is there anyone with a strong enough pull that would keep this Stairwell empty?"
Suzu shook her head. "There are a ton of rich people, and a ton of people with influence, but not one of them could prevent the usage of the Subway Station. The people of this city are stubborn, and their would be protests if a perfectly functional mode of transportation was taken away from them."
"I see," Minaga sighed. "I never lived in a city so I wouldn't know. I never stayed in one for very long either, these places are too noisy. That only adds to the suspicion of the empty Subway Station."
"Ok, we could go around asking people who use this route to go to work why they chose not to do so this mourning."
"We should carry pictures of the girl with us as well," Minaga agreed. "In case if someone recognizes her, her parents perhaps."
"She could have been homeless," Suzu pointed out. "Her clothes were tattered from more than just a fall down the stairs, it's like she's been living on the streets for days."
Minaga frowned at that. Suzu wouldn't know that this girl was on the run along with her family from a bunch of assassins, Minaga included. Technically his job was to kill her as well, but Minaga wouldn't have been able to do that. No doubt as a sniper Yujima would have been able to pull this off, but as someone who fights up close and personal, Minaga would have had to stomach an up close and personal kill.
"What you thinking about champ?", Suzu wondered.
"Why I'm being recruited as your junior detective," Minaga faked a yawn.
"Oh is this murder case boring you, or are you trying to get rid of me?"
"Crap..."
"I got a couple coffee cans in my car, you can drink one while we look for someone who regularly uses this station during the morning time."
"Shouldn't be too tough," Minaga figured.
"I rather like your group," the man with needles all over his face spoke up to three men who were now also covered in needles. "That's why I need you draw his attention away from me."
"W-what are you talking about?", one of the men questioned. "Attacking us will lower you're pay! Do you understand? The Red Diamond Knights were hired as Assassins by the same guy who hired you."
"Yes, normally I respect the rules laid out. But I doubt that he will, once he catches up to me that is. After all the boy has already killed the Dojo Master and one of his pupils. How long will it be before he goes after me and the Star Pupil. Anyways, my new assignment for you is simple. Hunt down and kill Minaga."
